Debatch response of a SQL query

I'm stumbling over (what I hope) is an easy one.  The Consume Adapter Service wizard returns one file with 2 schema:  the invocation and the response.  I'd like to debatch the response into individual records, but I can't mark the schema
as an envelope - that screws up the invocation.  Thanks for helping out somebody with mush for brains.

I saw an error on the send side of the solicit - response send port, and the last thing (I thought) I had done was setup the envelope.  This morning I carefully reassembled everything, making sure to setup the envelope correctly.  And when I
don't make mistakes, I get the expected outcome.  Thanks for your note back.  Sometimes it just helps to get reassurance that I'm just not off the rails.

No parameters need to be increased. Tuning is not done but making arbitrary changes to values and hoping that good things will happen by accident.

Still, that's not enough evidence to prove that TDE is indeed the culprit. Can you trace the query before and after enabling the TDE using 10046 and post it here.

  • Enable SQL Query logging while generating a report

I am a newbie to BI Publisher. We are using Oracle BI Publisher 11.1.1.5.0 for reports generation.
I am trying to get the actual SQL query executed when a report is generated.
It would be great if any one can share some tips to enable SQL query logging and how to verify it.
    Thanks,
    Satya

    Thanks for your response.
It seems the NQQuery.log is for OBIEE not for BI Publisher. I could see the admin guide refers to Oracle Fusion Middleware System Administrator's Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition.
I raised an SR at myoraclesupport (MOS), I got a response saying enable SQL query log option is not available in BIP.
    Best regards,

  • Using a SQL Query in an Alert and Matching a String

I've created an alert in 12.0.4 using a SQL Query and the field that I'm trying to match is a string.  Originally the query returned multiple rows but when the alert still didn't fire, I modified the query WHERE clause to return only one row:
    NAME                                RESPONSE
    Are area lights working?            No
My expression in the metric is RESPONSE.  In the Monitor I'm matching a string equal to No.  (Do I need double quotes around the matchvalue?  Single quotes?  No quotes?)  The metric is in the 15min scan group, the role is xMII Developers and I'm in that role. The monitor alert string is ' =  '.  Both metric and monitor are active and I've subscribed to the monitor.  Other alerts in the 15min scan group (all based on tag queries) are firing off properly.
Why is nothing showing up in the Alert Log?

  • How to run a SQL query which is stored in a column using PL/SQL?

Can anybody help me in writing this PL/SQL query?

The primary reason for doing this is we are calculating percentiles on an entity sales for different range periods, and there are several sql queries stored in a cloumn, so we would like to know whether we can run these queries by calling them in a pl/sql query, Its not necessary that we need to use a cursor, but once fetching the result set of the query we would like to insert them in a table.Vamsi,
As said in response to Satya, executing dynamic SQL, looping over the result set and inserting the results one by one in a temporary table, is a horribly bad idea. Especially in terms of performance, but also regarding the maintainability of your code. It's just way more complex than necessary.
If you want to calculate percentages, then use analytic or aggregate functions in SQL to do so. If you want to store them, use a single INSERT SELECT statement.
If you want to continue on the same path, use Satya's code and use it inside a loop.

SQL Query (updateable report) Region - Conditionally Hide and Set Values
    Outline of requirement :-
Master / Detail page with Detail updated on same page using SQL Query (updateable report).
The detail region has the following source
    SELECT item_id,
           contract_id,
CASE WHEN hardware_id IS NOT NULL THEN
                   'HA'
WHEN backup_dev_id IS NOT NULL THEN
                   'BD'
WHEN hardware_os_id IS NOT NULL THEN
                   'HS'
           END item_type,

           backup_dev_id,
           hardware_os_id
    FROM   "#OWNER#".support_items
WHERE  contract_id = :P26_CONTRACT_IDThe table support_items implements arced relationships and has the following columns
    CREATE TABLE SUPPORT_ITEMS
      ITEM_ID         NUMBER                        NOT NULL,
      CONTRACT_ID     NUMBER                        NOT NULL,
      HARDWARE_ID     NUMBER,
      BACKUP_DEV_ID   NUMBER,
      HARDWARE_OS_ID  NUMBER
)A check type constaint on support_items ensures that only one of the fk's is present.
          (    hardware_id    IS NOT NULL
           AND backup_dev_id  IS NULL
           AND hardware_os_id IS NULL
    OR    (    hardware_id    IS NULL
           AND backup_dev_id  IS NOT NULL
           AND hardware_os_id IS NULL
    OR    (    hardware_id    IS NULL
           AND backup_dev_id  IS NULL
           AND hardware_os_id IS NOT NULL
          )    Hardware_Id is a FK to Hardware_Assets
    Backup_dev_id is a FK to Backup_Devices
    Hardware_os_id is a FK to Hardware_op_systems
The Tabular Form Element based on item_type column of SQL query is Displayed As Select List (based on LOV) referencing a named list of values which have the following properties
    Display Value     Return Value
    Hardware Asset    HA
    Backup Device     BD
Computer System   HSThe Tabular Form Elements for the report attributes for hardware_id, backup_dev_id and hardware_os_id are all Displayed As Select List (Based on LOV).
What I want to do is only display the Select List for the FK depending on the value of the Select List on Item Type, e.g.
Item_Type is 'HA' then display Select List for hardware_id, do not display and set to NULL the Select Lists for backup_dev_id and hardware_os_id.
Item_Type is 'BB' then display Select List for backup_dev_id, do not display and set to NULL the Select Lists for hardware_id and hardware_os_id.
Item_Type is 'HS' then display Select List for hardware_os_id, do not display and set to NULL the Select Lists backup_dev_id and hardware_id.
There are properties on elements to conditionally display it but how do we reference the values of the SQL query Updateable region? they are not given a page item name?
Also on the Tabular For Elements there is an Edit tick against a report item - however when you go to the Column Attributes there is not a property with which you can control the Edit setting.
What's the best way of implementing this requirement in APEX 3.1?
    Thanks.

Welcome to the forum: please read the FAQ and forum sticky threads (if you haven't done so already), and update your profile with a real handle instead of "user13515136".
When you have a problem you'll get a faster, more effective response by including as much relevant information as possible upfront. This should include:
    <li>Full APEX version
    <li>Full DB/version/edition/host OS
<li>Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
    <li>Browser(s) and version(s) used
    <li>Theme
    <li>Template(s)
<li>Region/item type(s) (making particular distinction as to whether a "report" is a standard report, an interactive report, or in fact an "updateable report" (i.e. a tabular form)
With APEX we're also fortunate to have a great resource in apex.oracle.com where we can reproduce and share problems. Reproducing things there is the best way to troubleshoot most issues, especially those relating to layout and visual formatting. If you expect a detailed answer then it's appropriate for you to take on a significant part of the effort by getting as far as possible with an example of the problem on apex.oracle.com before asking for assistance with specific issues, which we can then see at first hand.
I have a multi-row region that displays values and allows entries in a number of fields.Provide exact details of how this has been implemented. (An example on apex.oracle.com is always a good way to do this.)
I should like the fields to be conditional in that they do not permit entry, but still display, if certain conditions apply (e.g. older rows greyed out). Can this be done? Almost anything can be done, often in multiple ways. Which are appropriate may be dependent on a particular implementation, the skills available to implement it, and the effort you're willing to expend on it. Hence it's necessary to provide full details of what you've done so far...

  • Ssrs expression to sql query

    Hi,
I am unable to convert the below ssrs expression to sql query. can you guys help.
    --          IIF(Parameters!parameter1.Value Is Nothing,
    --               " 3>2 ",
    --               "column1 NOT LIKE
    --                           Replace(IIF(Left(Parameters!parameter1.Value, 1) = "'",
    --                                             Parameters!parameter1.Value,
    --                                             "'" & Replace(Parameters!parameter1.Value, "'", "''")  "'"),
    Thanks.

Thank you for your response Carnegie,
I actually have two stored procedures as below. (columns and joined tables are excluded)
I need to change the dates of @DateFrom and @DateTo parameter, I am passing @DateFrom_FD and @DateTo_LD as well.
    CREATE ROCEDURE [dbo].[Test]
    (@DateFrom
    SMALLDATETIME
      , @DateTo
    SMALLDATETIME
      , @program
    VARCHAR(MAX))
    AS
    DECLARE
    @DateFrom_FD
    SMALLDATETIME
           , @DateTo_LD
    SMALLDATETIME
    SET @DateFrom_FD = DATEADD(MONTH,DATEDIFF(MONTH,0,@DateFrom),0)
    SET @DateTo_LD = DATEADD(DAY,-1,DATEADD(MONTH,DATEDIFF(MONTH,0,@DateTo)+1,0))
    SELECT
      DimDate.[Year]
    , DimDate.[Month]
    , DimDate.PK_Date
    , CustomerID
    FROM DimDate
    WHERE DimDate.PK_Date BETWEEN @DateFrom_FD AND @DateTo_LD
Now I am using one of the SP as a main report and the other SP as a subreport.
In order to configure the main report and the subreport, I believe that I need to link them with parameters.
However, in the parameters of subreport properties, the option given are only @DateFrom and @DateTo.
    No @DateFrom_FD AND @DateTo_LD
Therefore, I am thinking to use expressions to convert @DateFrom and @DateTo the same way I did in SQL.
I am not sure if this works....but this is the only thing that I could think of.
    Thank you,
    YJB5151

    Hi Nirav,
Many thanks for your response. I verified the same, but the same query was executed successfully after removing the INSERT INTO part(executed the SELECT part only). What might be the cause for this error?
    For your kind information :
    I have 2 schema in my DB( ceas_mk_app and ceas_mk_rpt ).
All the source tables are present in ceas_mk_app schema - These tables are used by ceas_mk_rpt schema(using synonym) to generate the report.
I'm executing the above said query from ceas_mk_rpt to insert the necessary data in to report temp. table.

  • A sql query needed

    Hi All,
I have belwo two record values.
select 1 as seq_no,'test1' as data_set from dual
    union
    select 1,'12test' from dual
    union
    select 2,'abcd' from dual
    union
    select 2,'ilm' from dual
    union
    select 2,'12test444' from dual
here i need to extract the below o/p from from the above dataset
    1,12test
    1,test1
    2,12test444
select 1 as seq_no,'test1' as data_set from dual
    union
    select 1,'12test' from dual
    union
    select 2,'abcd' from dual
    union
    select 2,'ilm' from dual
here i need to extract the below o/p from from the above dataset
    1,12test
    1,test1
    2,abcd
    2,ilm
The logic behind the above two types of o/p is
if the search string 'test' is present in any data set (data set is defined by same seq_no values) then print the whole row containing the search string. As in the first record value data set with seq_val 1 and 2 both have test string 'test' , o/p is all the rows contating the search string 'test'
If the search string 'test' is not present in any data set (data set is defined by same seq_no values) then print all other rows not containing the search string. As in the second record value data set with seq_val 2 both doesn't have test string 'test' , o/p is all the rows not contating the search string 'test' in data test with seq_val 1as well as all the rows contating the search string 'test' in data set with seq_val 2
Hope i could explain my o/p logic and i need to perform this in a sql query.
    Waiting for your responses.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Here's one way:
    WITH     got_rnk          AS
         SELECT     seq_no, data_set
         ,     DENSE_RANK () OVER ( PARTITION BY  seq_no
                                   ORDER BY          CASE
                                       WHEN  INSTR (data_set, 'test') > 0
                                       THEN  1
                                       ELSE  2
                                     END
                           )     AS rnk
         FROM    table_x
    SELECT     seq_no, data_set
    FROM     got_rnk
    WHERE     rnk     = 1
;The CASE expression returns 1 if data_set contains 'test', and it returns 2 if it does not. Let's call this number x.
You're not really interested in x itself. Rather, you want all the rows that have the lowest value of x among rows with the same seq_no. That is, if any row with a given_seq_num has x=1, then you want all rows with that seq_no and x=1, but it the lowest x for the a seq_no is 2, then you want the rows with x=2 instead.
DENSE_RANK returns the the number 1 if the given riow is the lowest (or tied for the lowest) in its partition, so if the are any rows with x=1 in the group, rnk=1 will correspond to x=1. But if all the rows with the same seq_no have x=2, then rnk=1 will correspond to x=2.

I like Diney's response best: Why not use the Title View? (i.e., asking questions until it is clear what is needed.) So along those lines, why are you trying to put the name of your report in a column of your report?? And why do you need to use direct sql to do this??
Kindly or not, urgent or not, state what you are trying to achieve and why you need it (if the obvious answer like "using the Title View" doesn't work for you), instead of simply assuming your method is right and you need to know how to do what envision. Your method may not be correct or necessary.

  • Oracle Sql Query issue Running on Different DB Version

    Hello All,
I have come into situation where we are pruning sql queries on different DB version of Oracle and have performance issue. Let me tell you in brief and i really appreciate for your prompt response as its very imperative stuff.
I have a query which is running on a DB of version 7.3.4 and it takes around 30 mins where as the same query when run on 8i it takes 15sec., its a huge difference. I have run the statistics to analyze on 7.3 and its comparatively very high. Question here is, the sql query trys to select data from same schema table and 2 tables from another DB using DB link and 2 other tables from another DB using DB link. So,how can we optimize this stuff and achieve this run as same time as 8i DB in 7.3. Hope i am clear about my question, Eagerly waiting for your replies.
    Thanks in Advance.

Difficult to be sure without any more detailed information, but I suspect that O7 is in effect copying the remote tables to local temp space, then joining; 8i is factoring out a better query to send to the remote DBs, which does as much work as possible on the remote DB before shipping remaining rows back to local.
You should be able to use EXPLAIN PLAN to identify what SQL is being shipped to the remote DB, If you can't (and it's been quite a while since I tried DB links or O7) then get the remote DBs to yourself, and set SQL_TRACE on for the remote instances. Execute the query and then examine the remote trace files, And don't forget to turn off the tracing when you're done.
Of course it could just be that the CBO got better,,,
HTH - if not, post your query and plans for the local db, and the remote queries.
