Debug Easy DMS system

Hi guru's -
I am working on SAP Easy DMS (Document Management System).. Business has asked me to suppress a pop-up box, using trace I have found the BAPI call that is causing the pop-up.. Now I need to find exact location of the code that is causing the pop-up..
Is there a way to debug ABAP code from Easy DMS front end??

Hi Sudhakar,
You can activate ABAP-Debuging using Easy-DMS!
When you start the Easy-DMS-Client you will get the logon screen (deactivate auto-login).
On this Screen you can click on the SAP-Logo.
Now you will get a new window where you can activate abap-debuging.
You need abap-debuging-permission in you User-profile.
For your Problem you need to create a function called Z_EASYDMS_SHOWROOTFOLDERS

Implementate following code and easy-dms won't ask for private folder:

First delete all the DIR's inside the folder using delete button. Later you can delete the Folder.

You can control this using authorization objects in DMS.

Easy DMS - where does it store available systems list

Hello,
We have Easy DMS installed. If the client has a saplogon.ini file, this seems to be picked up in the list of Available Systems. If there is no other SAP software installed, systems can be input via the [.] button.
Does anyone know where this information is stored? I would like to investigate copying it between PC's. It does not seem to create a saplogon.ini

It is stored in registry.
path: - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\EasyDMS\RfcCache\AAA
where AAA is system name.
Hope this helps.
EasyDMS also reads the saplogon.ini file alonmg with this data.
Note:
If you are using SAp GUI 720 release you may have to use the environment variable posted in this thread for easydms to read the correct saplogon.ini file.

Viewing document characteristics in Easy DMS public and private folders

We have classified our documents in SAP Document Management System. We are viewing the DIRs in Easy DMS. In the public and private folders, the classification characteristics columns can be added to the screen report, however the values for the characteristics do not appear in the columns. If we use the search function and view those same documents in the search screen, the characteristic values do appear. How can we get these values to appear in the public and private folder views? There does not seem to be an OSS notes which address this discrepancy. In advance, any assistance is most appreciated.

Hi Barry - As Daniel explained, sometimes system behaves if the Default box is not checked but I want you to check the EasyDMS version/patch you are using. Below is the screenshot of latest version/patch.
If you have old verison/patch, please implement the latest version/patch and check.

Easy dms multiple document number search

Dear experts,
We have installed easy dms 6.0 successfully. We have a problem in
usage. In selection screen we need to search "document number" field
with multiple search criteria, however the system permits only 1
entrance.

Dear Ahmet,
based on your description I have to inform you that the mentioned behavior means to be the current standard of EasyDMS. If you want to search for documents in EasyDMS you can only enter one document type and here multiple values are not possible. So I can only recommend you to use other fields like 'description' for searching document info records of different document types.
As EasyDMS is programm in C++ no individual screens could be customizing here. This behavior is also the same in EasyDMS 7.0.

Easy DMS download error

We are setting up easy DMS. When I do a search in Easy DMS for an existing SAP document, It finds it and can dispay the document info record information If I try to view or change the document (jpg, .doc, etc), I get a "I::001 Win32 error 2: The system cannot find the file spe" or "Error downloading C:\DOCUME~1\" with the local windows temp location.
Any idea on where to look to resolve this?

u get tree option, 1. Maintain Search Server Relation, 2.Set Up Search Engine Index, 3. Start Processing for Documents
u need to configure for search.
Also, full text serch,
General Data>Settings for Storage Systems>Create MIME Types for Full-Text Search.

Easy DMS - problem with object linking (unicode client)

Hi Gurus,
I have a problem concerning linking a materialmaster to a DIR in a uniciode environment. I tested following scenarios:
1) Easy DMS 6.00 SP10 non unicode + non unicode Backend --> no problem
2) Easy DMS 6.00 SP10 non unicode + unicode Backend        --> no problem
3) Easy DMS 6.00 SP10 unicode        + non unicode Backend --> no problem
4) Easy DMS 6.00 SP10 unicode        + unicode Backend         --> problem
Following Problem appears in scenario 4:
Our Material Number Format is ______-____-___ (6 digits - 4 digits - 3 digits), "Lexicographical" is disabled, "Leading Zeros" is enabled.
When I type in material number "111111-2222-333" and press "check all objects and read description" Easy DMS reads the description for
111111-2222-333 but after that easy dms changes 111111-2222-333 to 000001-1111-122 and when I try to save the DIR it tells me that
000001-1111-122 is not a valid material master.
As I mentioned this only appears with the unicode client + unicode backend. Any Ideas?

please tell us which version of EasyDMS you use currently. If you do not use EasyDMS 6.00 SP10 I would kindly ask you to see SAP note 1105699 and download this SP from the Service Marketplace.

Subscribe document,Un-suscribe,Log (who has open the document).Which will help user to get any update with the document.

from an EasyDMS point of view I have to inform you that the mentioned functionalities are currently not available in EasyDMS. If you want to view the log of a document you have to go to the backend system.

Object-related authorizations (access control lists (ACLs)) allow authorizations for carrying out certain activities in folders and documents to be assigned.
These authorizations are inherited top-down (see Inheritance) and can be overridden at lower levels.
You use the authorization object ACO_SUPER to give certain users, such as system administrators, authorization to override the ACLs.
Note: Linked documents do not inherit the authorizations of the folder to which they are linked. These documents only inherit ACLs that result from their original use, that is, from the folder in which the documents are actually located and not from a folder by means of a link.

I used BADI: DOCUMENT_MAIN01 & method: ASSIGN_NUMBER to assign document number. Now am creating document through Easy DMS am getting error "Exception Occurred". How can i find, where is the problem ?
How can i enable Trace option in Easy DMS ?
I saw Note 948254 & Note 661600 but don't understand properly.
Easy DMS Version : 6.0.0.0: SP11 (Unicode)

Hi,
I got some clues on my queries.
I am getting some information from additional data(Characteristics values) to generate document number.
E.G.
I have 2 characteristics
1. Part Type:
                  Values: A - Type 1
                              B - Type 2
2. Part Code:
                   Values: 01- Part 1
                               02 - Part 2
                               03 - Part 3
When am creating document am selecting Part Type = A & Part code = 02 so my document number is A-02. (- : constant).
This logic is working fine in SAP - GUI.
When am creating document through Easy DMS, SAP system is not getting char values in method ASSIGN_NUMBER.
In my code i written if char values is blank then give error message. Because of this error message am getting "Exception Error" error in Easy DMS.
Any body knows why system is not getting char values in BADI when am generation DIR from Easy DMS?
Even in Easy DMS the F4(Selection) help of characteristics is showing only description not values.

Easy DMS Administration

Hi,
I want to administarte EasyDMS centrally
How can I set all EasyDMS parameters (backend-system etc.) for all users, analog to SAPgui? I cannot expect Admin-Know-How of normal SAP-user. Now I have to set each EasyDMS parameter for each user individually...

Natalya,
To tell you frankly, this is one of the issues which we have a problem with in our organization as well. It means each time you configure easy dms for a user, somebody has to set up this parameters manually for each user. I think this is a draw back for easy dms.
If at all there is a way to overcome this, you can check with the operating system guys to set up a script which will install the software and parameters associated with it when the user logs on into the network for the first time into your company network.

EASY DMS ACL

Hi,
i have installed an IDES mySAP ERP 2005 SR2 System to test the ACL functions with EASY DMS 6.00 SP 4 Patch1. The authorizations of the ACL are shown well but they did not work. Only the authorizations from SAP System use.
How can i use the ACL ? Should i do some customizing settings ?

DIR through CV01n -not visible in easy DMS

Dear all,
1)I have created DIR through CV01n . But its not visible in public/private folder in the easy DMS. but when i do search the same DIR, it is visible in search folder.when i am trying to move same DIR to public folder or any folder system has given a pop-up and asks "do you want to like or copy this DIR " .
wht is that?
2) Is it possible to link the DIR directly to the folder at time of creation or uploading through browser or other method.

Hi Harish,
regarding your questions I have to inform you that the reason for this is that the create document info record is not inlcuded in the document BOM (e.g. header EDIPUBLICFOLDER). So you would have to add the new DIR to the document structure first.
If you create a new document directly in EasyDMS then it will be automatically added to the related folder structure.
In the backend I think you can use the new document browser functionality in CV01N to create new documents which are also just added to a document BOM. Therefore please press the button 'Select Document via' in transaction CV01N and choose weither 'Browser' or 'Selection Screen and Browser'. In the context menu of the browser you will find to item 'Create'.

Easy DMS & Object Link

Hi all,
in the transactional SAP while I'm creating a new version of a DIR the system allows me to inherit (via copy) the object links included in the DIR of departure.
By contrast the Easy DMS does not cover this feature.
Suggestions? I have to implement some custom FM?

Hi Marco,
this difference between the DMS transactions in the backend and EasyDMS has the same reason as the 'Status-Log' issue you mentioned in your other post.
For creating a new version EasyDMS uses the DMS BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATEFROMSRC2 which is called in batchmode. The BAPI is not able to handle any pop-up as normally there cannot be made any user input during the BAPI works. Therefore the behavior in EasyDMS is the same and no pop-up is displayed. This is due to the following coding:
