Decimal places in Measurement tab for Land

We lease-in Land in Acres. Typical land sizes require area to be defined in decimal units e.g 18.963 ACR or 256.755 ACR.
However, in the measurement tab for creating Land the amount column is rounding off all decimal values to whole numbers. Like in the above example what gets entered is 18 ACR and 256 ACR respectively.
I did not find any decimal options while defining the measurement type. Any clues how to go about resolving this issue?
Hamdan

Hello Hamdan,
You need to define new custom or change the existing unit of measurements assigned in respective dimensions. In this node you specify the number of decimal places you wish to have on particular unit. for example usually ACERS have 3 to 4 decimals as the unit is too high and the rent amount can differ a lot if we omit the decimals.
SPRO -> SAP Netweaver -> Check Units of Measurement
On the next screen select the dimension and click on the unit of measurement. create or edit the unit and specify the rounding decimals and other attributes as needed.
Assign this Unit of measurement to the measurement types in REFX and the Measurement types of the object types, which I am sure you know already.
Enjoy,

  • How we can increase decimal places in Sales Order for Qty

    Hi,
In Sales Order qty field now its 3 decimal places for MON unit of measure but we want 4. how we can increase decimal places.
    Thanks in advance
    Thanks & Regards,
    PM

    To elaborate better.
Again, use Tcode CUNI - Unit of measurement : Initial Screen.
At initial screen, choose TIME from the list (where by default AAAADL- no dimensions is there).
And click on UNIT OF MEASUREMENT button.
In that you will find MON - Month.
There go for details by selecting MON or select MON and press F5 from Key board.
For MON unit maintain following parameter as per your requirement:
-Number of decimal places for number display
Use - This parameter determines the number of decimal places with which this measurement unit is displayed.
-Base ten exponent for floating-point display
Use - This exponent determines how the values for this measurement unit are formatted as floating point numbers.
Examples - If the exponent is 3, the floating point numbers have the format xxx.xxxxE3.
And deselect commercial meas. unit in application parameters section.
I would suggest instead of changing standard settings of MON, you create ZMON in TIME dimension.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Changing decimal places in measuring tool

    Hi everyone,
I often use the measuring tool to measure old scanned drawings, it is very useful but it supplies two decimal places for mm dimensions, this is really too much.  I am not able to find any place where this setting can be changed.
    Thanks a lot in advance
    Claudio

thank you for your inputs, Jeevan.  we've tried up to 100,000 since any more will make the PO exceed the original contract amount.
the contract involved will be delivered in a span of many months, and billing and payments will depend on percentage of completion.
i hope someone can enlighten me as to how other companies do it, best practice or not.  i'm pretty sure those in construction or property development will find this case familiar. or maybe point me to an article or anything.
thank you for taking the time.

For Argentina, Peru and Uruguay same settings has been done and i am able to save the decimal points in OVA8 at the field max.doc value.
Please let me know if there is any specifis settings for Chile or SAP NOTE
    Thanks,
    Mahesh

    HI,
    just looking at a brand-new ECC60 / EhP4 system where nobody changed OY04 settings.
I can find CLP (Chilean Peso) in the list with ' ' decimal places, so thats why there are no decimal places allowed.
Check again OY04, if you find an entry for CLP and NOTHING is maintained it means that ZERO dec. places are allowed.
If you find an entry in OY04 with a number of decimal places >0 than this decimal places are allowed.
If there is NO entry for a given currency then its used with 2 decimal places (SAP standard).
So OY04 is only for the currencies that should be treated different as SAP standard.

  • Decimal places are not permitted for asset useful life

    Dear SAP experts,
I need to post a new net book value on a new depreciation area 50 for fixed assets. The new deprecation for depreciation area 50 will start in July 2011 on all existing (also fully depreciated or to be disposed) assets with a different useful life unlike the book deprecation for depreciation area 01. The depreciation method for depreciation area 50 is straight line.
I have a requirement to assign the new useful life for the depreciation area 50 which may contain decimals, for example 5.5 years. Basically, I need to depreciate the asset for the remaining 6 months of 2011 and the entire 2012 to 2016.
SAP does not allow decimals on asset useful life (Decimal places are not permitted, Message no. 00011).
Have you come accross a similar situation? How can that be managed via depreciation methods and keys?
    Please advise.
    Thank you in advance,
    Inna

    Hi Inna,
You can define your useful life of 5.5 years for the depreciation area 50 as follows:
    Useful life : 5
    period : 6
here, useful life(5) represents 5 years and period(6) as 6 months which gives you 5.5 years starting depreciation from Depreciation calculation start date.
    Kind Regards,

  • Decimal place support in BOM for R11i

Hi, does anyone can enable higher precision upto 9 decimal place in BOM, existing only 6 decimal place support in component quantity but ct would need more. Does R11i (11.5.4) support more than 6 decimal place in BOM? if it can, how to setup.
    Thanks in advance.

    HI Indraneel,
Both are important. When you upload any data and create PO,So this will be important .Similarly oy04 also.It is not allowed to change this manually. This is maintained as per the country currency.

  • Change of decimal places in productive system

    Hello
We are on ECC 6.0 in a post Go Live environment.
In our productive system we have set the decimal places to 2. For our business requirements, we would like to maintain 3 decimal places to 3 for Logistics modules (SD / MM & PP) where as we would like to maintain 2 decimal places for Financials module.
Pls advise us of the methodology of this changeover as well as the possible side effects as a result of this change.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hello
The number of decimal places saved on the database is determined by the Global Settings made in Customizing for that unit (unit of measure or currency unit). If no entry has been made in Customizing, the number of decimal places saved for this key figure and characteristic value is the number of decimal places shown in the planning table at the time of saving. If the key figure has no displayable unit (for example, if it is a percentage), all the decimal places are saved.
However, you need to perform some testing of scenarios to really know the impact 2 different decimals. Definitely, there is one aspect, whether any conversion is required or is it just a display of values in decimals.
Data from FI to other modules is not a issue, but data from other modules to FI should be able to take this extra decimal.
Although personally in my opinion it is not going to cause any errors, please test the same.

    Please help...

Hi, I posted a message to SAP on this topic and got an explanation - it is a behaviour that cannot be changed in certain cases:
it is the known design that it is always displayed with three decimal
places for normalized values and the setting in Query Designer for
decimal place doesn't take effect. This is because that normalization
changes the number dimension of this structure element.
You may refer to below notes about more details.
    > 869135 Decimal places and scaling for "Calculate Single Values As"
You cannot set the number of decimal places or the scaling for some
    columns or structural components.
For 2: Some "Calculate As" functions change the number dimension of a
KID. In this case, the scaling and the number of decimal places set for
the KID are no longer relevant. In this case, the system ignores the
original setting and selects a setting that corresponds to the new
number dimension. This cannot be overwritten. The following functions
    are affected:
Calculate Single Values as Scale to Result, Overall Result or Query
Result: Scaling 1 and three decimal places.
    > 501930 Number of decimal places setting is not applied
As a result, normalized values resulting from the list calculation are
displayed with three decimal places and without scaling by default.

    Dear Gurus.
I need to display dinamic decimal places in my form.

1.520  - need to display it as 1.52,
1.000  - need to display it as 1
    please help.

    Hi,
you need to write program lines in order to check the first, second and thrid decimal places with the following code and then display accrodingly the values.
    LV_DEC_PART = FRAC( TABLE-FIELD ).
then in insert three text nodes with the same field with offsets.
    &TABLE-FIELD.0&  with the condition LV_DEC_PART+0(1) = 0.
    &TABLE-FIELD.1&  with the condition LV_DEC_PART0(2) = 0 AND LV_DEC_PART0(1) # 0.
    &TABLE-FIELD.2&  with the condition LV_DEC_PART0(3) = 0 AND LV_DEC_PART0(1) # 0 AND LV_DEC_PART+0(2) # 0.

    Hi Wendy,
This is System Standard that If you increased Decimal Place then you can not decrease those decimal Place again.

  • Price per unit is getting round off to two decimal places.

    Hi Gurus,
In the Billing output, the Price per unit is getting round off to two decimal places.
How can we avoid this or allow 4 decimal places for such cases.
In the same pricing procedure, we have two pricing condition types PR02 and ZR01.
    When PR02 is being used,it doesnt rounds off Price per unit.e.g .578888 = .578888
But when ZR01 is being used the system rounds off price per unit.e.g.578888 = .58
Please suggest where is the setting for it.
    Thanks
    Montee

    Hi,
Which currency you are using? If its INR, then it will do only for 2 decimal places.
The solution for ur problem can be ractified by changing the scales :

  • Getting an error in CIF Inbound queue:"Only 0 decimal places are permitted for unit of measure PC"

    Hi,
I am getting an error in CIF Inbound queue (function: CIF_ORDER_INBOUND_30A). The error text says "Only 0 decimal places are permitted for unit of measure PC".
Can anyone point out the solution to resolve this error? It would be a big help for me as I am new to APO and so getting difficult to find a clue for it.
    Thanks.
    Regards
    Mansi

    Hi Mansi,
Please check the cif queue you will get the order number from that order number you can find out material code. Then check the material master unit of measure in MM03 you have used some alternative unit of measure and system is unable to convert order to  alternative unit of measure because of decimal setting. If you go to CUNI and check the unit if measure PC it is not permitted for decimal places. If you need decimal than change the UoMof Material and use diff UoM or allow the decimal for PC which is not good practice.

  • Changing number of decimal places for Unit of Measure

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to convert a quantity in one unit of measure to another (custom) unit of measure.
The issue is that the custom unit of measure has 4 decimal places (customer requirement). I found function module MD_CONVERT_MATERIAL_UNIT which does the trick for regular, 3 decimal places, UoM's. It won't output 4 decimal places since the output data type is EKPO-MENGE, which has 3 decimal places.
Does anyone have experience with trying to convert material's UoMs into 4 or more decimal places?
    Thanks!
