Decimal places in standard cost

Dear All
How many Decimal places does SAP Support for Standard cost estimate.
Thanks

Dear Sivaperumal,
Normally I have noticed it's kept upto 2 places.
Check the setting in T Code OY04.
Also check this thread which addresses the same kind of issue,

  • Decimal Places in Item Cost must be 6 characters while in Journal Entry 2.

    I have the following problem:
Accounting needs to see and work with 2 decimal places, but the item cost is needed in 6 decimals.
If I register a A/P Invoice and i go to the Journal Remark, the Journal Entry should be in 2 decimals. If i look for the Item Cost on the Wharehouse this cost should be in 6 decimals.
Is there a way to handle Accounting in 2 units and Cost in 6 Units
    Thank You very much

    Hi Saul,
The request appears illogical, how can the accountant work with 2 decimal places & the item valuation is held with 6? The stock account with 2 decimals will never match the stock audit report with 6 decimals.
I'm afraid the SAP Business One core functionality does not cater for this need. There are no 'behind the scenes' journal entries. A JE is legally binding so you need to decide whether you wish to work with the most accurate calculations regarding item cost as possible (6 decimals) or accommodate the accountants & work with 2 decimals in the journals.
You might want to take the nature of the stock into consideration, if there are huge quantities at small individual prices 6 decimals might be better, if you use mainly standard cost &/or have no major cost fluctuations when using MAP/FIFO, 2 decimals might be sufficient.
    All the best,
    Kerstin

  • Decimal places in standard input schedule templates

    Hi Gurus
I have created some input schedules using standard template. User here will be entering some values in 2 decimal places (like 1.25) but when I enter any values in the cells, it automatically round off the values and displays values without any decimal places.
I have tried changing the formats in Format control panel by changing the DATA / DEFAULT 's PATTERN / ALL for ROWs but it did not help.
Please help how to resolve this.
    Cheers

    Hi All,
In OVA8 settings for Chile country at the field max.doc value, i am not able to use the decimals. getting error message as Decimlas are not permitted (Message no - 00011). checked OY04 - there is no decimals for Chile currency. checked - OY01 Dec.Pt. format as 1.234.567,89
For Argentina, Peru and Uruguay same settings has been done and i am able to save the decimal points in OVA8 at the field max.doc value.
Please let me know if there is any specifis settings for Chile or SAP NOTE
    Thanks,
    Mahesh

    HI,
    just looking at a brand-new ECC60 / EhP4 system where nobody changed OY04 settings.
I can find CLP (Chilean Peso) in the list with ' ' decimal places, so thats why there are no decimal places allowed.
Check again OY04, if you find an entry for CLP and NOTHING is maintained it means that ZERO dec. places are allowed.
If you find an entry in OY04 with a number of decimal places >0 than this decimal places are allowed.
If there is NO entry for a given currency then its used with 2 decimal places (SAP standard).
So OY04 is only for the currencies that should be treated different as SAP standard.
    Best regards, Christian

  • Question about decimal places for currencies

    hi ,experts ,
here is the problem , when i use mb5s, i found the net price has been enlarged 1000 times . I  also found the data of the table EKPO has been enlarged 1000 times. So ,i check the decimal places for currencies , i found there are five decimal places , the standard system is two decimal places .
Does this mean that we cann't  change the decimal places in SAP?  If we can change , what should we do for configuration ?

  • Problem with transaction CUNI and configuring decimal places

Note: I'm actually an ABAP programmer and do not know almost anything about SAP configuration.
Note2: Sorry if this was posted in the wrong section. I am trying to avoid an ABAP solution so I did not post this in the ABAP section.
Note3: Sorry for cross posting. I'm trying to make this visible to as much experts as possible.
    \[Problem\]
I'm tasked to increase the number of decimal places that a certain standard program in MM accepts.
    \[ABAP solution I'm trying to avoid\]
The consultants' initial recommendation was to make Z copies of the standard table and the standard programs that references that table. This would be rather dangerous as there is the risk of missing certain parts of the code If I was to replace all occurences of the old standard table with my custom Z table.
    \[Standard solution I'm trying to do\]
Now I've read several threads here that makes use of transaction CUNI to adjust decimal places of certain units of measure (see Re: Unit Of Measure problem and change decimal places in PO quantity). However, when I tried it, It does not work the way I expect it to.
In SE11, I created a custom table that has a quantity field (length: 13, decimals: 3) and a unit field (length 3)
In CUNI, I created a new ISO code TST (for test). Then I created a new Unit of measure ZTT (ZTesT) which makes use of my ISO code TST. I set the decimal places to 6.
When I insert data into my custom table, instead of 6, the number of decimal places remain at 3.
Please help in adjusting decimal places without touching the table.

    Hello Dzed,
I've read several posts that suggest transaction CUNI to adjust decimal places in standard unit of measures. What I tried is a simplified simulation of what is needed.
In a more realistic sense, consider table VBRP and column FKIMG. What If I want to store items in VBRP and allow 6 decimal places for FKIMG but I am not allowed to modify the table? Is making a Z copy of VBRP the only solution? Or is there a more standard way of doing this?
My worry is that If I copy a table, I also need to copy the programs that use it and modify them accordingly. Our Basis do not want the standard tables touched.

I have gone thro' couple of blogs which are talking about changing the price decimal and not the percentage field decimal. (in IMG setting: General settings > Currencies > Set Decimal places)

Decimal Places Factor of the Receiver Weighting Factors
Specifies the number of valid decimal places with which the given weighting factors are valuated.
    Example
You enter 123456 as the weighting factor. Depending on the factor, this number is interpreted as:
    Factor Decimal places Weighting factor
    1 0 123456
    10 1 12345.6
    100 2 1234.56
    1000 3 123.456
    10000 4 12.3456
    100000 5 1.23456
    1000000 6 0.123456

  • How to decrease decimal places in invoices

    Good day,
How do i drecrease decimal places in invoices. For example , i have set the decimal places to 4 for costing purposes but i want the final invoice to be 2 decimal places for display purposes. i have tried decreasing the decimals using the decrease decimals icon but the decimals are still 4.
    Thanks

    Hi Wendy,
This is System Standard that If you increased Decimal Place then you can not decrease those decimal Place again.
If you want this then you can do this in (Print of Document) Document Layout through Crystal Report.
    Hope this help

  • Problem with rounding in standard cost estimate.

    Hi All,
    Happy 4th of July!
I have a problem with the standard cost estimate where the system try to calculate overhead costs (from costing sheet) with a fix percentage (9.7%) to the value coming from material consumption costs element.
Let say I have $1.71 material consumption and the overhead rate of 9.7%
The real calculation should be (1.71*0.097) = $0.16587
But at CK11N screen, it shows only $0.16 (two decimal rounding)
Is there a way that I can bump the rounding to at least 3 decimal point to make it more accurate?
Very appreciate any input you guys can share. Thank you.
    Charitha

    Hi Chari ,
My experience says that you can use only 2 decimals ..
    Moreover , please have a look into SAP Note : 639410 - CK11N, CK13N: Message CK869 due to rounding
    differences.
There a some source code corrections also on rounding differences- check if it helps you also...

  • Issue with Standard Cost estimates / Material Ledger

    Background:
We have been using SAP for the last 5 years with Material Ledger active. Due to a number of reasons, we have not revised its standard cost estimates from 2001 till now. This means that at month end, we do not mark and release prices as recommended, nor do we mark prices and use dynamic release.
    What Happened:
A new material called PFSW3 was made. This is a FERT. Before production
could start my team released the standard cost estimate for this material. Production was now able to proceed without problem. Then, when the time came to sell the material (VF02), SAP again raised the error 'cost estimate not found'. On checking the standard price in MM03, we discovered that the future cost estimate was missing. So we created and marked a new cost estimate in the middle of February 2007.
    Problem:
When the first sale took place, SAP released the marked cost estimate and posted a Price Change document to adjust for the new standard cost. I understand this was due to dynamic release. Now, when month end came, the system settled all the production orders of material PFSW3 but did not do multi level costing on it.
    Internal Investigation:
My team has determined that the material PFSW3 has price determination 2 set by mistake. All our other production materials (HALB and FERT) are
set to price determination 3 in the material master (accounting view).
    Questions:
    To sum this situation up,
we need to know why the material PFSW3 was not marked closed in its period status (CKM3) at the time of closing through CKMLCP?
What are the implications of not closing this material in Feb 2007 (current period status is showing 'Quantities and values entered')?
How can we close this material this month?
The future cost estimate is again missing for PFSW3 in March 2007 and I
fear we are going to face more problems as this material is sold to customers.
Please respond this is an urgent issue.

    Dear Shumyl,
Please, have a look at Note 645083 - Material period status set to "Closing Entry Completed" that might help to closing your material in previous period.
    Hope it will be useful.
    Regards,
    Flaviano.

  • Decimal Places in Hyperion Enterprise

Since upgrading to Hyperion Enterprise 6.5.1, we have lost the ability to see any values beyond the decimal point. I can go to View and select decimal places, but it used to appear in the bottom right corner of the Data Entry screen as Value: 7195.1548869 now all I get is Value:7195
Does anyone know how to get that Value to show all the decimal places?

    Hello,
During operation, you must neither delete currencies used nor change their definition of decimal places. Amounts in posted documents could become invalid or incorrect as a result.
You cannot subsequently use R/3 standard functions to make a consistent change to the number of decimal places of a currency in the R/3 system that is already operatively used because the system interprets all amount values on the database according to the number of decimal places of the reference currency that is stored in the system.

  • Decimal places in unit of measure in Sales order

    Hi,
In the Sales Order application in PCUI, when I create a create an order for customer XYZ, and add product ABC for qty 1 which uses unit of measure PC, the qty is displayed with 3 decimals as 1,000 whereas if I use the unit of measure EA the quantity is displayed without the 3 decimals as 1. I need the unit of measure PC to not have the decimal places like in SAPGUI.
Could anyone help me understand how this can be achieved?
Thank you for help in advance.
    Regards,
    Priya

    To elaborate better.
Again, use Tcode CUNI - Unit of measurement : Initial Screen.
At initial screen, choose TIME from the list (where by default AAAADL- no dimensions is there).
And click on UNIT OF MEASUREMENT button.
In that you will find MON - Month.
There go for details by selecting MON or select MON and press F5 from Key board.
For MON unit maintain following parameter as per your requirement:
-Number of decimal places for number display
Use - This parameter determines the number of decimal places with which this measurement unit is displayed.
-Base ten exponent for floating-point display
Use - This exponent determines how the values for this measurement unit are formatted as floating point numbers.
Examples - If the exponent is 3, the floating point numbers have the format xxx.xxxxE3.
And deselect commercial meas. unit in application parameters section.
I would suggest instead of changing standard settings of MON, you create ZMON in TIME dimension.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Decimal Places for Currencies

Impact on the processes of change at MM decimals for Currencies.
We want to use foreign currency to 6 decimals anand two decimal places for the currency of society

    Dear José Luis Flores ,
Please always make sure your business process not reach the limitation of overflow during
the conversion as the Price it is always with 11 characters with 2 Decimal place (9,2) in standard.
    All together 13 characters.
If this limitation was reached, you will received the dump message. This is normal and you had to
make sure it suits your business requirement in the beginning to avoid any changes later . You
had to plan it before do this type of customizing in very beginning.

  • Query regarding decimal places for currencies

    Dear all,
SAP standard allows 2 decimal points as default for any condition value. However, based on the entries in TCURX table we can set number of decimal places with reference to specific currencies.
In our system there is no entry in TCURX table against USD currency. Still the system is taking 3 decimal places against the expected 2 decimal places.
Is there somewhere hardcoded this for US or are they any additional settings impacting this? Please help
    Regards,
    Rajesh

    Hi All,
I have been trying to set 3 decimal places. I got the reference to Note # 38881.
    This is what I did:
    1. Create a new currency US$ and set the decimal places to 3
    2. Maintained the prices using VK11.
    3. Changed the customers' sales area currency to US$
But when I created the sales order although the system determined the prices in 3 decimals i got the following information message which keeps on showing during the entire sales order creation:
Pricing error: Mandatory condition ZMAC is missing
    Message no. V1801
    Details are as below:
The obligatory condition ZMAC does not exist. The document is therefore considered to be incomplete from the point of view of pricing.
The cause can be, for example, that a condition record does not exist for condition ZMAC or that a field overflow has occurred when the condition rate was calculated.
    Procedure
Check why the condition could not be found. Use the pricing analysis function on the pricing screen to do this. If necessary, add the missing condition manually to the document.
I believe I am missing some configuration that should be done in pricing, not sure what. As this question has been flagged answered, hope someone would be able to help me.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rajesh Singh
