Decimal places when exporting HFM form to Excel

Hi All,
We are on HFM 9.3.1.3.
From the web, when we export a data form to Excel, we lose the decimal places.
In our data form we use 3 decimal places, however all exports to Excel deafult to 0 decimal places. We can reproduce in Excel 2003 and 2007.
Is there a setting we can change so that an export to Excel picks up the decimal places used in the data form?
Thanks for your help.
Seb

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I just checked and both settings are the same:
decimal separator is a . in the server's regional settings and user preferences.
I have tried changing the regional settings to no avail.
The strange thing is that if I connect from my laptop to another 9.3.1 environment then I can export to excel with the correct decimal places.
I'd say this is definitely an environment issue.
Thanks again for your help.

  • Changing default color scheme when exporting ALV report to Excel spreadshee

    Hi all,
We have a bunch of FI reports created using OOPS in abap.  Each of the reports has the functionality to be exported to an excel spreadsheet.  When exporting to Excel, the headers are a very dark brown color, making them difficult to read and it has been requested that they are shaded a lighter color.  I have not defined any sort of color scheme within the report itself, and I was wondering if there was a way to change the color scheme when exporting the report to excel.  Let me know if there is anything that can be done, thanks!

  • I need to get 2 decimal places when using a formula for a quotient and Numbers will only give me whole integers which is useless since most items will be less than 1. How can I change this?

How do I get 2 decimal places when using a formula for a quotient? It only gives me whole integers. Most of the results will be less than 1 so I need 2 decimal places

the quotient function returns only whole number portion of the dividing two numbers.  If you want the actual decimal value use the divide operator.  you enter this as:
    A/B
if the numerator is in A1 and the denominator is in B1 you can enter the formula like this:
    =A1/B1

  • Inconsistent data when exporting measurement markup to Excel?

I use Adobe Acrobat XI Pro on a Windows 7 Dell PC to create Commercial Landscape takeoff's from architectural drawings. After setting the appropriate scale under 'Change Scale Ratio' and then using the measurement tools to outline, color code, and label different areas, I right click the document and choose 'Export Measurement Markup to Excel...'. My problem is 80% of the time the measurements that end up listed in the exported Excel document are not consistent with measurements of the specific areas I've done my takeoff on. For instance, a planting bed area that I've outlined with the area tool which may be 457.53 square feet is listed in the export excel document as 2.3 square feet. I've tried checking and unchecking the 'Use Scale and Units from Document (when present)' option under the Preferences>Commenting menu, to no avail. Most of the time there is no embedded scale in the drawings we're working with. We've used various versions of Acrobat Pro for over 5 years performing hundreds of landscape takeoff's, trying to select and deselect just about every menu option under the 'Preferences' tab that has to do with measurement and commenting, but still have not found what causes this inconsistent exporting of measurement data across all versions. Our workaround is to just click on every little area we've measured out and manual transfer that to the spreadsheet.

  • Repeating row texts when exporting web report to Excel

    Dear all,
When exporting a web report (including a structure/hierarchy) to Excel (via the 'export to excel button), the row texts (e.g. balance sheet texts) appear twice (column A and B)in the Excel result.
When using the web context menu 'Export to Excel' this issue does not occur.
I am using a BW 3.5 system which has been upgraded to support pack 16.
I assume it is the combination of the structure and the 'export to excel' functionality that does not match up, because when I switch off the hierarchy functionality in the web report query properties, the export to excel does not give me any problems.
Does anyone know how to solve this issue?
    Thanks in advance,
    Arjan.

Did you write that software, COTS package called Medgate?
If not then ask that company for support. No one here would know how to fix it. They are using the CR RDC report engine.
    Thank you

  • B1 Query returning truncated decimal places when the CASE statement is used

    Hi All,
Perhaps this is a friday thing.
In B1 the price setting is for 5 decimal places. I have a query the run a business process looking at the data in the Special Prices Tables. When I run the Query in SQL, the output show the correct number of decimal places. However, when the Query is then  saved and run in B1, the output is truncated to 2 decimal places. Any ideas as to how I can prevent this for happening?
T0: Points to teh OSPP Table
T1: Points to the OSP1 Table
The portion of the query causing the issue is as follows:
    case
when (T1.price is not null) then
             T1.price
       else
           T0.price
    end

    Hi Earl
Seems you are right, I have tested with a few different formats and each time get a 2 decimal result. In SQL help I found the following which may explain why:
    Result Types
Returns the highest precedence type from the set of types in result_expressions and the optional else_result_expression. For more information, see Data Type Precedence (Transact-SQL).
Even tried it in SQL with a stored procedure storing to a temp table and it shows the full decimals, but executing the SP in SAP Business One results in 2 decimals again.
This is indeed a strange occurrence and I a not sure how you are going to solve it! You can use NVARCHAR for example except that it right aligns the values returned, but at least it doesn't drop the decimals.
    Kind regards

  • Lost Decimal Places when extracting value from ODS into Cube

    Hi,
In short, we wish to transfer data from an ODS to a custom cube. One of the Key Figures is becoming an integer in the process.
Both the ODS and Cube use the same InfoObject which is defined as a Number with a Data Type of FLTP.
If I set a break-point in the update rules, I can see that it is reading the value into the communication structure correctly. Yet, when I browse the data in the Cube, it seems to have lost the decimal places in the update.
    More details:
We have a custom ODS and cube which needs to store a Unit Price to four decimal places. In creating the InfoObject for Unit Price, we could not use a Data Type of Currency (Type = Amount) as this is limited to 2 decimal places.
Instead, I used a Data Type of FLTP (Floating Point) and a type of Number. All decimal places are loading correctly into the ODS, but are being lost when transferred to Cube.
    Many thanks
    Adrian

    Hi Simon and Emmanuel,
    Thanks for the suggestions.
Unfortunately the Query is returning the same integers as LISTCUBE.
Also, my key figure has the same definition in both the ODS and cube (uses the same InfoObject), and there is no transformation - just transfer.
I'd prefer not to create another currency. It could get a bit messy if I'm having to include the figure in calculation with other figures that use the real currency.
I had thought of making the key figure a standard type of Currency and multiplying the value by 100 before storing them in the cube - then I would simply divide the figures by 100 in the query. But again, not ideal.
I have logged a OSS note with SAP to see if there is any known issue with transferring  a floating point number between the ODS and Cube.
    Thanks
    Adrian

  • After opening HFM forms in excel the colour in all other file get changed

    Hi,
Once we open (import) HFM web form in excel via smartview and refresh it, color in all other excel files (normal excel file) change to black and we have to close all the excel file to to get rid of this issue. Its happening onlywith few users. Is there any setting in excel or in hyperion smartview to fix this problem?
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Aj

I also think its not SV related issue and it is purely excel issue. I checked all the options in excel but could not find what causes such changes. Only some users are facing such problem and all the excel option setting are identical in two computer one with problem and other without any such problem.

  • Dump when exporting an ALV to excel at Portal

    Hi there,
I am getting a dump ( Exception condition "CNTL_ERROR" raised) when exporting an ALV to an excel document.
    I've done the following:
       1 - Create an ALV report at SAP R3 (with option export to excel);
       2 - Create a SAP transaction iview to show the ALV report at portal;
3 - At portal, I am trying to export the ALV to excel.
    Isn't this correct?
How can I get throught this problem. I really need to export this ALV to excel.
    Thanks and best regards,
    Vasco Brandã

    Hi,
if it should not dump then it_output_alv-gehalt_eff this should be of type C. is it type char.
and can you show the fieldcat of the field <b>gehalt_eff</b>, that might causing the problem. though you changed the type.

  • Removing the ID of a lookup column when exporting SharePoint list to Excel

    Hi,
I export a list in Excel and I noticed the lookup column contains an ID together with the name (e.g. John Doe, #12). Is there a way I can avoid exporting the ID in Excel?
    Thanks.

LookUp Field Values have a string representation of “(ID);#(VALUE)”, i.e. “2;#Second Entry”.
If you export the list in excel you could create a formula or macro that split/copy only the value in a
new column and then hide the real one.
Try the following blog post for same samples:

    Hi all,
i find this solution by myself :
    - in the Colum Attributes -> Tabular Form Element
    - set Display As -> Select List (query based LOV)
    - in List of value -> List of value definition i use this query
    select 'Yes' display_value, 'Y' return_value from dual
    union
select 'No' display_value, 'N' return_value from dualand the update is working
    and the export is working
    Thanks to all
