Decklink / Kona / Matrox... your opinons please
Hello everyone,
The time has come for me to consider a HD solution for my business. My clients are finally moving to HD or should I say HDV, and I need a little advice on hardware etc.
My client base is a mix of consumer and corporate. The cameras most often used are the Canon XA H1, Sony HVR Z1, Panasonic HVX200. There is a possibility that I will be getting RED footage as well.
Like many here, my budget is somewhat constrained, so doing research and getting real world reviews and opinions is most helpful to me.
I cannot afford a 15K color grading / external HD monitor, so most likely I'll be going with an 23" Apple Display for HD out.
Any comments, blessings, warnings etc. are most welcome.

Hi David,
Thanx for the link. I had seen a few of these reviews, but had not seen Shane's yet which was very interesting. The MXO sounds like a decent solution for viewing and output. I even noticed in his blog that he mentions the results from the KonaLH3 and MXO into a Sony PVM-20L5 are almost identical, considering the difference in cost.
I know that you generally get what you pay for, but on the capture side, there is a huge difference between the Decklink HD and a Kona 3. Is the Kona that more advanced, or does it cost that much because they can get it?

I am trying to order a book with iphoto, I keep getting the same error message.
" A network error occurred while processing your order, please check your network connection and try again"
I get the billing part up, it has even uploaded my jpegs but at the final process, I get the same message.
I have ordered two books a few months ago without any problems.
Now I keep getting the same message either half way into
the order or at the final hurdle after the images have been uploaded.
Any ideas?
My shared Network has been fine and that does'nt seem an issue.

In the article Resolve iOS update and restore errors this is what it says about error 14:
Check your USB connections
Related errors: 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643-1650, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, 4005, 4013, 4014, or “invalid response."
If the USB connection between your device and computer is interrupted, you may be unable to update or restore.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
Use the USB cable that came with your device, or a different Apple USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port directly on your computer. Don't plug it into your keyboard.
Try a different computer.
If necessary, resolve any further issues with the USB connection, then with your security software.
If you're still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues by following the next section. -
I plugged in my ipod touch 4g to sync with my macbook pro and itunes sent an error saying itunes cannot read your ipod please reset your ipod, so as suggested by itunes i reset my ipod and now when i plug my ipod in itunes doesn't even recognise it and doesnt sync with it

Occasionally the mail "sends", but it is unpredictable. Tech Support at Qwest (for q.com under Windows Live) does not find a problem at their end.
More suspiciously, the same account accessed from my Mac does not seem to exhibit this problem. Have reloaded T'bird. Recurred again. -

Apple would have to strip so many features out of iOS 7 to make it work on your iPod that about all you'd have would be iOS 6 with different icons. So as the others have said, this is not going to happen. If you want iOS 7, you'll need a newer iPod.

It sounds a lot like your phone was jailbroken or hacked to unlock it before you updated.
