Default directory for sql script in iSqlplus 10g

I want to run an sql file from the url as "http://machine_name.domain:5560/isqlplus/dynamic?script=http://machine_name2.domain/myscript.sql
". What is the default directory to place the file myscript.sql in? Do I need to create a DAD for specifying a different directory?
Am using Oracle 10g.

Hi Alison,
I tried putting the sql script on different directories on the Oracle server but the url doesnt seem to find the script at all. It gives an error "Cannot find sql script".
I have not installed Oracle Application server 10g yet. Am only running Oracle Database 10g with iSqlplus and PL/SQL.

  • How to set default directory for SQL LOADER

    Ella,
You don't say which version of SQL Developer you are using via Citrix, but just setting the SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR hasn't worked for a long time (see Re: SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR does not function anymore). Also, since version 1.5, the default for the user directory (now set via ide.user.dir as shown below) is under the user profile area (relative to %APPDATA%), which you should be able to write to, even on Citrix.
Assuming that neither of those help, you will need to get whoever installed SQL Developer on the Citrix C: drive to modify the sqldeveloper.conf to have a line like, where the path exists for everyone who will be using the shared SQL Developer (assumes everyone has a H: drive):
AddVMOption -Dide.user.dir=H:\sqldeveloperAn alternative (depending on how you start SQL Developer via Citrix), is to create your own shortcut to start SQL Developer with something like:
    sqldeveloper -J-Dide.user.dir="%SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR%"theFurryOne

  • Default Connection for SQL scripts

    Hi everybody.
Can somebody tell me if there is a way to set a "default connection" in SQL Developer?
What I want to achieve: When I'm opening an SQL script with the SQL Developer it should already be chosen a defined connection, so that I only have to run the script.
Normally after opening a script I have to choose manually a connection before running it. That's very annoying, if you have to run more than 100 scripts.
    Thanks in advance,
    Stefan

A popular request. I suggest you vote on the various requests for this at the SQL Developer Exchange, to add weight for possible future implementation.

  • Does SQL Developer support a default Path to SQL scripts

    Just started using SQL Developer.
In the past, I created shortcuts on my PC desktop to run SQLPLUS to the different
    instances as follows:
    1. Create a shortcut to PLUS80W.exe
    2. Set the property "Start in" to a directory where the SQL scripts are located.
    3. Add the login/password@instance to the end of the shortcut.
In this way, ypu only needed to click on the shortcut to log into SQLPLUS and run your
    scripts via @script.sql etc.
Can you setup a default path to SQL scripts SQL Developer so that it can locate
the scripts on your PC ?

I did notice in version 13.43 that if you close SQL Developer with a SQL script open in the SQL Worksheet, when you startup SQL Developer the next time it automatically opens the file in the SQL Worksheet with no database connection. It also sets the default path for SQL scripts to be the directory where your open SQL file resides. If you right-click in the SQL Workshop and then click on "Open File" the directory defaults to the directory of the SQL file that is open.

  • Default Directory for iMovie08

I have a somewhat similar question -- it seems there should be a simple way to move the "movies" folder wherever you want, but I'm afraid to even try lest I mess everything up. I bought a 250 gig external hard drive, and I want to store all my movies on that automatically, so that I can work on them both on the new laptop and on the about-to-be-ordered iMacs.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks!!

  • Change default directory for Creative files (such as Media Databa

I'm using a Zen xtra with WinXP Pro on my company laptop. The Creative software puts a lot of files (7 MB!) in my user profile under Document and Settings. Unfortunately, this is making my profile larger than my company allows, since they back up the profile over the network.
How can I change the default directory for these file? I can't find any .ini files that might declare the path, and I can't find anything in the Windows Registry that points to my profile.
    Help please?
    Thanks,
    Luke

Thanks for the suggestion of deleting the JetFileBackup folder, Micromouse. I'll try it.
Any other files look deletable? Without any way to move them, I may have to try deleting some and see what happens.
I'm not even sure which Creative programs can be uninstalled (other than Nomad Explorer) and still be able to use MediaSource to play songs from my Zen Xtra (through a USB connection). Windows Add/Remove Programs says that I've used all of these programs today:
    Creative Jukebox Driver
    Creative MediaSource
    Creative MediaSource AudioSync Plugin
Creative MediaSource NOMAD Jukebox 2/3/Zen Plugin
    Creative NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra
But all I've done is open MediaSource and start a playlist from my Zen Xtra. Anybody know which of those can be uninstalled without affecting my use? (Maybe this deserves a separate topic.)
    Thanks,
    Luke

  • Changing default directory for iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.

I need to change the default directory for the files iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml permanently.
It must be relocated from the My Documents directory due to VPN reasons.
Has anybody an idea if this is possible? I could not find a corresponding registry entry.
    Notebook Windows XP Pro

Using TweakUI to Move or Create Your Library/My Music Location
Use TweakUI (See: ’Disk is locked’ or ‘iTunes folder cannot be found’ when installing or opening iTunes ) to create a 'My Music' folder in a spot where you desire. iTunes should then find this location and deposit its Library files there, and the 'iTunes' folder and sub-folders as well (if you direct it to).
First, see this Article for some background information: What are the iTunes Library files?
If you cannot see the ‘My Music’ folder within the TweakUI drop-down selection, proceed on to the following:
1 On the start menu go to ‘Run’
    2 Type in RegEdit
3 Navigate in RegEdit to HKEYCURRENTUSER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
4 Delete any entry for ‘My Music’
5 Navigate up the tree to HKEYCURRENTUSER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
6 Make sure there is an entry for ‘My Music’ and is pointing to C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\My Music (you can edit the value by double clicking it)
    7 Close RegEdit
    8 Reboot
iTunes &/or TweakUI should now be able to find the folder.

  • Default directory for SQLplus GET or START command

I have 10g Express Edition running fine on my Windows machine.
Previously I wrote a lot of SQL and PL/SQL code for a UNIX environment. I want to run that same code from the command line (SQLplus). The trouble is my installation doesn't seem to want to allow me to change directories on my C:\ drive and I don't want to dump all my code into the C:\SQL directory.
How can I run SQL programs that are in a different directory? Should be simple I hope...
I have tried "HOST cd" but that doesn't seem to help.

  • How to set nondefault directory for SQL Developer on Citrix (terminal)

    Hi
My purpose is that , when I click"open" button on SQL Developer I hope it prompts out a defined diretory rather than the default one.The problem here is I'm using Citrix paltform in the terminal end and hence I don't authorization to do any modification on the C:\ drive (server end)
I got this guide lines from the tutorial but I can reset the rying directory by either way.
To specify a nondefault SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR location, do either of the
    following:
    ■ Set the SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR environment variable to specify another
    directory path.
    ■ Edit the <sqldeveloper_
    install>\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.conf file
and substitute the desired directory path for SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR in the
    following line:
    SetUserHomeVariable SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR
1.After I execute below command on cmd, the variavle has been set but still it navigates to the default directory:
    set SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR=U:\sql
2.I want to modify the "sqldeveloper.conf " file but since it is located in C: drive I don't have right to modify it.(I'm using terminal as stated above)
Could anyone help me out ??

1.1.2.25 I go into preferences and set the default location to look for .sql files but when I click the open button it uses the sqldeveloper install directory and I have to browse for my folder. This is only on start up, once I have browsed to it one time it holds the location.

  • Inserting sql scripts in OWB 10g using OMB PLUS

Hey burleson, thanks for the reply..
Infact i am new to OWB and my question can be very silly to you.
Infact i have 1 source table in OWB named 'SALGRADE' which contains data and i have 1 target table named 'TARGET_SALGRADE' which has the same structure as the source table.
The script i have run and tested is as such :
    INSERT INTO TARGET_SALGRADE
    (GRADE,
    LOSAL,
    HISAL)
    SELECT
    GRADE,
    LOSAL,
    HISAL
    FROM SCOTT.SALGRADE;
I have tested it in sqlplus and the update has been done.
Can you please tell me how do i proceed in OMB PLUS and how do i write the script there??
    Regards,
    Amrish

You can run SQL scripts using the SQLPLus activity in a process flow.
    But the traditional mechanism to move data in OWB is using mappings. The post below might be interesting if you know SQL to understand how mappings are constructed;
