Default location of EXS24 sample files (not Sample Instruments)

I'm trying to copy a few selected EXS24 Sample Instruments (orchestral strings) from one Mac to another.
I know where the Sample Instruments are, but can't find the associated sample files.
Any idea where they are?
Thanks!

You can move them from teh default location to wherever you want.
Drag the iTunes folder from C:\Users\<username>\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music to
C:\Users\<username>\iTunes\iTunes Music.
Hold Shift and laucch iTunes then select *Choose existing library* and select the *iTunes library file* in the iTunes folder.

  • List of EXS24 sampled instruments

Hi, does anyone know where I can get a list of the EXS24 sampler instruments (more than 1000) for LE 9 ? Also, is the EXS24 GM compatible yet for easy identification and selection of instruments for imported midi files? Thanks.

As far as the Jam Packs go, you can download the manuals from the support area. There are thousands of sounds and loops with Logic Studio. Many are searchable by Spotlight. Just have fun exploring.

  • Network location appear this error:"file not found".

Hi guys, we change the location of files for ours user to network location, so when we try to open any illustrator file in network location appear this error:"file not found". this error only with network file! how can we solve this problem

    cbessa,
External media: It is always recommended here to open/save from/to own hard disk, and to copy from/to networks and removable media. You may be lucky (for a while), but the chances of file corruption and other unpleasantnesses are immensely greater when you use anything but the harddisk, and it is better to be safe than sorry.
In addition to the (far greater) risk of file corruption, some issues are mentioned here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/illustrator-support-networks-removable-media.html
If you transfer by external means it is always safest to zip/compress the file to avoid corruption.

  • Logic X won't locate my EXS24 Samples.

    Hey everyone,
I just got an iMac 10.8.5 and got Logic Pro X on it. Before I was using Logic Pro on my Macbook Pro. I took all my projects on my macbook pro and brought it to the iMac via external harddrive. I then dropped all the samples into HD > Library > Application Support > Logic > Sampler Instruments. I then arranged all the samples within the Sampler Instruments folder under a new folder called "samples".
When I opened Logic Pro X, the EXS24 recognized samples, but not all of them. Sessions will be able to locate only some of my samples.
A msg will say from the EXS24 instrument  Audio file "name of sample" not found!
Why are some samples found and the others aren't. The sample that it can't locate is in the right spot.
Then I tried System Pref - Spotlight - Privacy - Adding the HD - then taking it away - that never did anything.
I then used Onyx to reindex spotlight. When I restarted the computer I had the same problem. (Now as I type this I went to the search bar and realized my iMac is being indexed)
I'll wait to see if this time it works when I finish, but I'have had no luck at all using the solutions that appear to work for a few others.
    Hope someone can help!
PS. Anyone know when a new driver for Axiom 25 is going to ready for 10.8.5?
    - Jon

If you upgrade to Mavericks, it might automagically fix the issue, but then again it might not.
Looking again at your original post:
are you sure that the missing samples are in your filesystem? (I.e., did you look in /Library/Application Support/Logic/etc for those specific files?)
Just out of curiosity, why did you put them in the Sampler Instruments folder? Don't they usually live in the EXS Factory Samples folder? If user samples, I think they would normally go in your user home folder, e.g. ~/Library/Application Support/Logic/EXS User Samples, or whatever you'd want to call it.
If none of those help, try reindexing Spotlight again via Terminal (credit to Christian L on MacProVideo for this step-by-step):
    1. Quit Logic and restart your computer... just to be safe!
    2. Launch the Terminal (Under Applications > Utilities)
    3. Type the following command (exactly) :
    sudo mdutil -E /
    4. Enter your password... and the rebuild process will begin
    5. Go take a (long) walk
    6. Come back home
    7. Click on Spotlight in the menu bar - Still indexing? Go back to step 5. Done? Go to step 8.
    8. Follow this link : http://make-everything-ok.com and press the button (optional, but fun)
    9. Launch Logic
    10. Keep fingers crossed
    11. Try to load an EXS24 instruments
    I hope this helps!

  • Logic X EXS24 - audio file not found

I know this question crops up often and is usually a Garageband/missing downloadable contents issue but that's not the case here.
I'm a long time Logic user (pre Apple)  and can usually work my way around issue or find answers online, but I'm completely stuck with this one.
I've been running my current setup for about eight months now (new Mac Pro, latest versions of Logic Pro and OS) with no problem at all.
I have an extensive sound library stored on external drives (Pegasus2) via Firewire and everything has been zipping along, then yesterday for no know reason EXS24 suddenly gives me the "audio file not found" message when trying to create a new instrument.
All previously created EXS24 instruments load just fine as the audio files were copied onto the project drive, but Logic no longer sees the library on my external drive.
The external drive is working just fine (troubleshooting shows no errors or issues) and I can access it just fine, load sounds into other applications etc), I can also manually drag individual samples into my EXS24 instrument so that it "sees" them, but very impractical to do this with so many audio files, and obviously that's not how it's supposed to work.
I thought I had found a workaround yesterday by making an alias of the folder containing the sound library and copying the alias to User/Music/Audio Music Apps and that worked while I was working yesterday, but on loading Logic today the problem is back.
I've reindexed the drive in question with Spotlight..
As mentioned, this setup has worked for months (and for years on my previous hardware) but suddenly Logic can no longer see those files via EXS24.
Any suggestions as to why this suddenly happened, and more importantly, on a permanent fix?
    B.

It doesn't really matter where you put the samples, as the EXS will search for them when you try to load an instrument that references them.
The reason why the "davidfelton" bit is in there, is that the location of the samples is stored inside EXS files. At load time, if the samples are not at that location, the EXS will search for them, and once found, will write the new location back to the EXS file so it doesn't have to search next time.
If the EXS cannot find your samples, then open the EXS preferences and make sure your default search locations will find the files (ie you don't have it set to look on one drive, when the samples are on a different one).
Or you can use the project managers "resolve" function to update the sample locations to all the EXS files in one go.
    Any probs, post back...

  • 9.0.1 EXS24 Sampler Instruments issue

After the 9.0.1 update, about half of my EXS24 instruments are now named "sampler instrument" or just "instrument." The presets in the subfolders still have their correct names. None of the factory instruments have this problem, but many 3rd party instruments do. I tried replacing my entire sampler instruments folder with a backup, but the problemis still there. Tried disk permissions, still no go. Any ideas? Trash prefs (I haven't tried that yet, not sure if there are EXS prefs or not...

I noticed the same issue after installing the Logic 9.01 update. Thankfully, the 3rd party instruments still work with EXS24. They still sound as they should (for me, anyway). Unfortunately, the main folder names of the 3rd party instruments are different (as described in the original post) than what I originally created. So, to clarify, "just" the display names to the 3rd party instrumental libraries are at fault. This was not the case for Logic 8.02 (or even Logic 9.0, for that matter). So, it appears that this is a new bug in the latest version of Logic.
All of my instrumental libraries are stored on a separate audio drive. I created "Alias" folders/files that pointed to the audio drive and placed them as originally directed (2+ years ago) in the Macintosh HD drive. In an attempt to figure out a work around to this possible bug, I renamed the "Alias" folders to the 3rd party instruments. It wasn't helpful.
    Any suggestions??

  • Change default location of Product Installer Files

I have a hard drive with multiple partitions and would prefer my installers go to a different drive when copied to my computer i.e. some place other than <ProgramData>\National Instruments\MDF\ProductCache.
    1) Can I change this default location?
    2) If not, is there any harm in just moving the directory manually and keeping things in another location myself (pathing issues)?
I believe I will just have to browse on disk now when building installers because LabVIEW won't find things if they aren't located at the default path, but I'm fine with this.

  • I just upgraded to Lion and can't find my EXS24 sampler instruments

The instruments that came with Logic are still in their place, but can't find user sampler instruments.  It used to be (user / library / application support / logic / sampler instruments, but there is no "library" folder in the user folder anymore.  Any suggestions?

    Jericho...
The User/Library folder is now hidden in Lion. To get to the "user" Library folder you now have to access it from Finder>Go>Go To Folder.
Once there, type this: /users/(your administrator name here)/Library/
    Hope this helps...
I've been working in Lion just fine until tonight! I lost my EXS24II sampler Instruments too... but probably for another reason?  -- Andy

  • Where the default location of generated source files?

    Hello!
In my processor I create several source files and check it's names for existance before
private String genClassName( final String packageName, final String key, final String suffix )
            final StringBuilder suggest = new StringBuilder( packageName ).append( key ).append( suffix );
            final Elements elementsUtil = processingEnv.getElementUtils();
            int i = 0;
            while( elementsUtil.getTypeElement( suggest ) != null )
                suggest.append( i++ );
            return suggest.substring( packageName.length() );
}If I not define -s option for javac at first time compile and then set it to some location, then some generated before files are visible for this method and numbers added.
So, the question: where to find a default "shadow" source tree to clean up it before next compilation with changed -s option?
Sorry for my english and thanks for answers
    Edited by: Maxoid2 on Jun 3, 2008 10:34 PM

The directory to clean up is where the -s option pointed to last time.
The simplest way to do this is to always use the -s option and don't change it. Using the default value for -s option (which is the same as -d) tends to lead to problems. I always specify -s option, and make it different to -d option and -sourcepath.
If you do this you don't even have to clean it up, javac only looks in there for files that it placed there. Files from previous builds get overwritten. Files from previous builds that are not overwritten are ignored.
with a separate -s directory, it just works.

  • You cannot change your default location of "Creative Cloud Files" for sync from desktop

So, I'm finding that I am restricted from moving the "Creative Cloud Files" container (for syncing to the cloud from my desktop). It is bound to C:Users/Name and will not move.
This is very saddening and seems like an elementary function that should be included.
I do not want to store things on my small SSD C: drive -- thanks.
    Am I missing something here?

    Hi Mark,
As per Adobe F.A.Q, I would like to state that :http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html
"Your files remain on your local hard drive. You can also choose to take advantage of the ability to synchronize your local files with your Creative Cloud storage. Even if you choose to sync your files to Creative Cloud, you will always have a local copy of your files."
There are some workarounds, it might work out, you can try it : It is for windows
First, stop the sync and exit the app ( right-click on the Connection icon and click Turn Sync Off, right-click again and choose Exit )
Go to “C:\Users\your user name” folder and locate Creative Cloud Files folder
Move the folder to a different location ( e.g. “D:\Data\Creative Files” ) and make sure that you move complete Creative Cloud Files folder
Run cmd.exe in admin privileges ( type cmd in Start menu, right click on cmd and select Run as administrator )
    Type following:
    mklink /J “C:\Users\your_user_name\Creative Cloud Folder” “D:\Data\Creative Files”
You should receive message that the junction is created ( refer to this guide if you need more help:Complete Guide to Symbolic Links (symlinks) on Windows or Linux )
Now to test it BEFORE you turn on the Connection app simply copy something to “D:\Data\Creative Files” folder, than go to Creative Cloud Files folder in your users folder and you should see the file you copied
If you are able to see the file, all you have to do is to start the Connection app! Hooray!
This guide should work for Windows 7 and Windows 8.

  • Current VI's Path returns location of original source file, not running exe.

    Running LV 2010.
I have a VI that opens a PDF style manual when the user clicks a button.  My development project is set up with a main project folder, and 3 sub folders called Source, Application and Installer.  Of course, the source code is in the Source folder.  I also have a copy of the manual in the Application folder with the app.
When run, the VI uses the Current VI's Path object as a starting point for where the manual is located.  The Current VI's path includes the Source folder in the path it generates.  This is not a problem when running the source code, as the VI is running from that folder.  Problem is, the Source folder is also included in the generated path at run time on the target machine running the exe.  There is no Source folder on the target machine, so I'm at a loss to explain why this is happening.  It's probably a setting in my application builder, but I can't find it.  Never had this problem before.  Can anyone help?  Thanks.
