Default posting date on first WD of month

The posting date on first working day of the month was defaulted as last month's date. Eg. on first may, the default posting date was given as 30th april. why is this so.

I am not sure for which transaction code you are making entry or it is general statement.
generally, default date of posting is today's date as defined in own defult data with user ID

I have a requirement, In our system in every FI tcode we require default posting date should come as 31.12.2009. Even user can change it but it in first screen it should come as 31.12.2009.

Dear,
Go to SE93, put the transaction code in which you want the posting date to be defaulted. Here, in this screen click on change button then on down you have default values. Put name of the screen field as "BKPF-BUDAT" and the value which you require like 31.12.2009 save.
Now go to that transaction code and check the default posting date.

While running KSU5 , the default posting date is last day of period. We need to change the default posting date to current date.Please advise on any userexit/ solution if it has been implemented for same.

Hi,
the posting date in KSU5 is determined from the period you are executing KSU5.
So if KSU5 is executed for period 005 (and your fiscal year is calendar year) the posting date is the last of May.
You cant change it to another MONTH (eg June, posting date and period would be different) and i doubt that it makes sense to change it for example to the 20st of May.
Can you explain why you need this?

Default value of date as first day of month

Ho can I make my default value of date parameter as first day of month? {$SYSDATE()$} gives only current date and we can make it like {$SYSDATE()-7$} if we want to minus 7 days but how can we set the default value to first day of month?

I got the answer...It is {$FIRST_DAY_OF_MONTH()$} instead of {$SYSDATE()$}

Month end accrual posting date- Last day of the month

Hi Experts,
I have set up month end accruals for PY US by configuring posting dates, LDCD, WageType accrual processing class, Schema changes. I have also set the closing dates as the end of the month.
Now after I do the posting , there are three documents getting generated.
1. Accrual posting document with first day of the current month
2. Normal Payroll posting document with payroll period posting date
3. Accrual reversal document with first day of the following month.
My Question is: As per standard SAP configuration, the month end accrual will have first day of the month. Can we customize this to end of the month for doc#1 - accrual document?
Please do let me know your suggestion and ideas.

I have a similar question and I hope to have more details on how to change the posting date.
The point is that I have an amount of 1200 and I have to post 100 for each month.
Key Date for Accruals: 31.01.2011
I posted 100 with Document date: 31.01.2011 and Posting date 31.01.2011
Key Date for Accruals: 28.01.2011
I posted 200 with Document date: 28.02.2011 and Posting date 28.02.2011
Also I reversed the amount posted in the previous month (100) with Document date: 31.01.2011 Posting date 28.02.2011
And so on...
The problem are the dates because I need to post the amount at the end of each month (28/02) and to reverse the previous amount at the beginning of the next month (01/02).
How can I change these dates?

Default posting date as 'Today Date' while executing CAT5 to transfer hours

Hi Experts,
I want to schedule a job in background to execute CAT5 automatically but system should consider posting date as 'as on date'/ 'Current date' for transferring the all hours into project otherwise it throws an error 'Posting period is not open'.
So please let me know, how can I configure the system so that it should consider posting date as 'Today Date' by default while executing CAT5 in both cases whether manually or automatically.

See what has been set for payment term for Residual Items.

MIGO. Goods receipt. Default posting date ??

My user wants to put restrictions on <b>posting date for goods receipt</b>. It should depend on fiscal year (FY) of document delivery date. There are 2 rules for this. One should works only if the current month is September.
If FY of delivery date < current FY then posting date = 8/31/prior FY.
Else. Posting date = current date.
The second rule should work only if current month is August.
If FY of delivery date > current FY then Error message Cannot post
During the rest of the year they want to have standard MIGO.
Is it possible to realize it in SAP without modifications? If yes, what is the best way to do it?

Select records by date after first of next month

Hi
I have an asp app accessing a SQL Server db and am getting
myself into a tangle over dates. I have a date field ValidFromDt
(smalldatetime) and another date field ValidUntilDt which
respectively define when a record is valid from and until. I want
to select all records valid on the first of next month - i.e. were
now in July so I want any whose 'valid from' date is now or any day
up to 1 Aug but excluding those which expire before 1 Aug and also
those whose valid from date is 2 Aug or later. Whatever month we're
in, it is the first of next month I want to select up until.
Any suggestions much appreciated.

In Transactions like FB01, MIRO, FB60, FB70 posting date is appearing automatically. But this date can be changed by the users. We want that the posting date should be made "Display only". How this can be done. Kindly guide.

Posting Date in FB60

Hi
we have an interface into SAP, which calls FB60 to post vendor invoices. Currently the posting date is defaulted as the current day. This works well until month end where for a few days the new period is opened, and the invoices need to be populated with posting date as first day of the next month.
Is there any BADI/User Exit that can be used with FB60, so we can modify the posting date.

We are going to pushing this back to the datasource, so they provide the correct date in the interface, rather the bespoking SAP.
Had we done this in SAP I think the BADI would have been our solution.

Max - out of professional curiousity I couldn't see an enhancement spot at the end of the GET_DEFAULTS routine. I am not a developer, so forgive me if this question is stupid, but would you modify the SAP program and create your own enhancement spot ?
Yes there's no standard enhancement there, so if it was necessary I would create my enhancement spot there.
It's very good chance, I've created several enhancement spot in the past and I had no problems while upgrading.
So it can be good solution, but it should not abuse about it

EBS currency translation not "posting date"

Hello,
We implemented EBS ealier this year. The currency translation date on the FF_5 postings is taking the "document date" and not the "posting date" when determining which currency exchange rate to use. This is only an issue for a couple days at month end when the document date is in the current month, but the posting date is in the prior month.
What do we need to do to change the currency selection back to "posting date". I have never seen SAP use anything but posting date. I have tried reviewing all the configuration of doc type and other set up during EBS implementation and cannot see how we have triggered this date.

I neglected to mention that we are calling this currency translation through a WAD button using the SET_CURRENCY_TRANSLATION command. I did do a test by applying the currency conversion within query key figure. This seems to work. So it appears the issue is with how the WAD is processing the variable, not the query. When I display the variable in a drop down item within the WAD it does have the default value that I have assigned in user exit.

Posting date changes when I approved a Funds reservation

When I approved a Fund reservation in SAP business workplace, system creates a Accounting document with a different posting date.
I give you an example:
Funds reservation:
Document number: 1101000099
Document type: R0
Document date: 01.08.2011 (day.month.year)
Posting date: 04.08.2011 (day.month.year)
Accounting document
Document number: 1000000916
Fiscal year: 2011
Period: 08
Doc. Date: 01.08.2011 (day.month.year)
Posting date: 29.08.2011 <<<----
?¿?¿?¿? Why sy-datum ??
Maybe a SAP error ?? Do you know where SAP (abap code) determine posting date??
I need posting date of accounting document is equal to posting date of funds reservation.
Note: If I created a funds reservation with posting date 31.12.2011 and then I approve it, system creates accounting document with posting date correct! (31.12.2011)

Posting date in KO88

Dear Experts,
In KO88, when we execute the Production order settlement, system by default takes the last day of the month as the posting date. Is it possible to make the default posting date as current date or system date instead of period end date?
We can change the posting date manually using the menu option Extras but we want the system to propose the system date automatically.

Inhouse Cash : interest scale posting date and value date

We would like to configure the posting of the calculated interests at month end as follows:
calculation period : from first calendar date of the month (included) until last calendar date of the month (also included !)
posting date = last calendar date of the month
value date = first calendar date of the next month
My understanding is that the posting date of F991 is driven by F9L4. How can I make sure that valuedate of the payment item generated by T-code F991 (mass balancing) = F9L4 date + 1 calendar day?

I agree that you can influence the value date as compared to the posting date,
but that is not the key issue.
Key is how to ensure that both the interest calculation end date AND the posting date be equal to the last calendar date of the month?
The system seems to look at what is stored in the account balancing tab of F9K3 and if you have "31" stored there, the system seems to calculate until the 30th of the month (for months of 31 days, obviously).
I can however not put in F9K3 "1" (first day of the month), because then I will be unable to trigger the interest scales (F991) with a posting date 31st of the previous month, because in order to trigger F991 the date in F9L4 (which is the posting date of the interest scales) must be equal to or bigger than the date stored in F9K3 (next balancing date, which would be equal to 1st of the next month !
So, It looks I am running in circles.....
Any solution for this?
