Default printer settings in Reader X? Why must I reset my print option each time?

Each time I try to print a pdf, the application takes over the printing duties instead of allowing my printer options to come up. There is the option to set printer options by clicking on the "Printer..." button. This is annoying to be sure, but the big problem is that I have to do this each time I desire double sided printing, which is always. If the application demands control over printing, it should be able to utilize the features offered by my printer and set a default print option. In the very least, it should used the last printer option selected. Is there any way to do this? It is annoying and often wastes paper as I use command P/Enter to print when I'm in a hurry.
On the up side, I love that it was easy to set the default page view/zoom options.

USB interface? Are you using one of those USB to parallel adapter cables?
They don't allow two-way comm - which is how the printer tells the computer "done with this page."

For the past few weeks, I must log into Facebook every time I access it on my iPad. This does not happen on my iMac and, until a few weeks ago, it did not happen on my iPad. Each time it shows the iPad as a new device and I get an email telling me that. It now shows that I have registered 87 devices! I am quite sure I have a setting not right but I don't know what it is. Take it back to Best Buy and talk to the store manager. Possibly they can work something out with Apple.
In the meantime, try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

Why must I reset sharing password every time host computer is shut down?

Using 10.7.5 on iMac desktop. Sharing Internet via Airport card. Every time the host computer is powered down the sharing password must be reset. Have tried using both security settings offered with same result.

Have you disabled hardware acceleration? (not solved by reset is usual)
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Why does Indesign reset my print driver?

When I go into the print dialog and click on "setup" to go to the Minolta Bizhub C450 print driver, I find that the items that I have changed (like collate, double sided, grayscale, the list goes on) have been changed back to the original setting after I exit out of the print driver. When I print from Acrobat, I can change the print setting and they stay. Example: If I want to print a file thats two sided, I hit <control P>, <settings> and enter the printer driver. I tell it that I want to two sided and I want "Right Binding". Exit the printer driver, go back to Indesign print screen and hit print. The file has printed two sided but the binding position has defaulted back to auto, not the "Right Binding" that I had asked for.
I have the new version 6.0.4 but it seems like my problems have started after this new version. Does anybody else have this problem?

I have just managed to resolve a duplex problem (CS4 not allowing duplex printing)
The same solution may help you.
On the indd print screen second selection setup there is a box that has 'A4' in it. This appears to be a default setting giving indd printer control.
I have changed that to Defined by Printer then I have saved that setting as a preset. I have done this for a A4 page (portrait) and for my A5 booklet Landscape). I select my preset as appropriate to the occasion before I print.
My understanding is by doing this CS4 surrenders and gives the printer control of printing.
It may be that in your case it indd will stop trying to control your printer (resetting it)

When I use the "open file" command, I find all of my files blanked out and I have to "enable" the window to show "All Documents" each time. Is there a way to change this so that "All documents" are always visible when I choose Open File (or Command-O) in Photoshop CS6? I am using a Mac Pro and the latest version of PS CS6.

Once you find the file, save a copy to include in your bug report, then delete or remove it from the preferences folder.

If you need a quick and dirty way to restore your preferences, here's a way you can do it using a keyboard shortcut on launch:
Windows - CTRL-SHIFT-ALT immediately after you double-click the PS icon.
Macintosh - CMD-SHIFT-OPTION immediately after you double-click the PS icon.

HP printer and Firefox 4.0.1 not talking....prints from Explorer fine..help, I have reset the printer in config and updated all plugins...still not working. I want to use firefox but can't if I can not get this issue solved.

I have tried the obvious....CP and made sure the correct printer was selected and it wasn't set to print to file. I then did the about:config and reset the printer. I have also updated all the plugins with none of the solutions working.
Please help...I really don't want to have to use Explorer everytime I need to print something.

Why does the same clip play differently each time I play it?

Playing a flash animation clip in Adobe Media Player plays differently each time I play it. I'm looking at animation we made that has a left to right move. Sometimes it plays smoothly, other times it stutters, but the stutters happen at different points each time I play it, and the amount of stuttering changes each time I play it. I'm trying to decide if the file is acceptable to post on the web, so I'm playing the same 34 second file from my hard drive, each time in succession, yet each play is different. Boy, if you can help me with this I would sure appreciate it, as it is driving me crazy. (The same thing happens on other flash players). And no, the file isn't haunted...

Hello and thank you for trying to help me out. When I click on the itunes icon on my desktop, it does the preparing to install.... on my laptop, when I click on the icon, itunes opens automatically. I really can't figure out why one does this and the other does not.
Apparently, I was not having trouble connecting to the itunes store like I thought. Many other people complain of the same problem I had---the connecting to the itunes store progress bar goes halfway, stops, and then all I see is a blank white page that says itunes store. Well, after playing around, and clicking on VIEW and SHOW sidebar browser, I was able to see the itunes store! Yay!! It was so simple, it was unreal that so many people are having the same problem I thought I was having, connecting, when all that was was a VIEW issue.
As far as my desktop doing the preparing to install, I don't get it. I have uninstalled itunes9 and redownloaded it, reinstalled it. Same problem. Preparing to install. No matter what itunes icon I click on, or even if I click ont he application itself from it's folder. Any ideas?
So just forget about my connection problem---it was not a problem after all. Yet one pc does preparing to install when the itunes icon is clicked on, and the other pc does not. Both are running windows vista home premium. One is a desktop, one a laptop. I can't figure it out.

Why does Firefox trigger the UAC warning each time I open it?

I design websites and test them across most browsers. We use Windows 7 operating system, and only Firefox triggers the User Account Control message on our test computers, which is a major annoyance when opening instances of Firefox in rapidfire order as web designers do. Is there a way to disable it? The UAC is not triggered by Opera, Safari, Chrome and we have made sure we have not checked properties-compatibility tab - "Run this program as administrator" in both the Firefox.exe file as well as any desktop shortcuts - as advised by several people and contributors to Firefox forums. But that doesn't have an effect. Each time we test, we get the Windows 7 UAC message. We've written to Microsoft several times and they have not replied. We thought perhaps you'd have a solution that actually works.

I reinstalled first without deleting everything and then as you suggested. The program now comes up ok when I log in as administrator. However, it is the only program I have that suddenly won't work as a non-administrator without requesting that the administrator approve it to make changes to my computer. I have looked at the permissions and they are the same as for WordPerfect, for example. I don't expect that this program makes changes to my computer that will bother any other users.

Why do I have to accept agreement each time I open a CC program?

I have to accept the license agreement each time I open an Adobe CC product. Sometimes I have to relogin to CC. Why is this happening? I should be able to accept the agreement once for a single product and have all products activated, not have to accept the agreement and login each time I open a program. For example, I'm working in Photoshop and have to accept the agreement. With PS open, I open a PDF and have to accept the agreement. I close Photoshop and upon reopen I have to accept the agreement again about 75% of the time. Same with all CC products.
Is the Creative Cloud connector not keeping the registration data or something? All software that I'm using is updated including the cloud connector.

A couple things to test:
Try launching the app by right clicking and choosing Run as Administrator
Try disabling User Account Control
Turn off User Account Control
