Default User settings

I want to change the default user settings in iPlanet Directory Server 5.1 so admins can create individual users in the JAVA Console with the specific attributes needed by our organization per branch point.

key phrase: per branch point. I take it you mean that entries below a particular branch point share the same attribute/value pairs? That leads me to suspect that class of service would be of use to you, and the console would not need to change and your admins would not need to enter the info per user.

  • Default user settings in cProjects

    Hi all!
    Does anyone know if it's possible to change the default user settings in cProjects at user creation?
    Basically, we would like to have the processing mode set by default as "display" instead of "change".
    After user creation in the backend/portal, table SPERS_OBJ is not updated with the settings.
    When entering cProjects application the first time, I noticed that the table is updated with default value, espacially DEFAULT_MODE = ' '. However, it seems that SAP standard takes "change" as the default value.
    I know that we can do this manually in SU01, tab "personalization", then DPR_USER_SETTINGS. However we would like to have this value automatically set, without having to set it manually if possible.
    Thank you.
    Matthias

    Hi,
    Please try following.
    PFCG=>enter role=>personalization=>Personalization obejct key DPR_USER_SETTINGS=>select the Processing mode "Display" and then assigned the role to user.

  • Set Default User settings in BRF Plus

    Hi All,
    We want to set some default setting for a set of the users for BRFPlus gui.
    For Example:
    1. We want to display row no in the decision table as the first column for all users.
    2. In the decision table, we want some columns ( from result section)which are actually in the end  on the right of the screen should be visible as first column.
    I know these can be achieved using user settings. But we want to default this for all the BRF Plus users.
    Can we create one setup and assign it or default it for all BRF Plus users? Like we do in SAP R3 defaulting menus for SAP users.
    Thanks In Advance.

    Hi Carsten,
    Thanks for the hint.
    We have already used the blog to hide some features from users view in custom catalog. After your reply I revisited the our code and added few more lines of codes to display row number. But the Row Number was not displayed. Guessing if anything is missing.
    Is it not possible to do at user profile level for mass users. Like we do it for SAP R3 Users?
    Code Snippet:
    METHOD if_fdt_wd_ui_mode~get_configuration.
    *Get the default configuration.
      CALL METHOD super-
    >if_fdt_wd_ui_mode~get_configuration
        RECEIVING
          ro_configuration = ro_configuration.
    * Remove repository view.
      ro_configuration->set_parameter( iv_name  =
    if_fdt_wd_user_configuration=>gc_parameter_repositor
    y_view
           iv_value = abap_false ).
      ro_configuration->set_parameter( iv_name  =

    if_fdt_wd_user_configuration=>gc_parameter_history_v
    iew
           iv_value = abap_false ).
    * Display row number
      ro_configuration->set_parameter( iv_name  =
    if_fdt_wd_user_configuration=>gc_parameter_disp_dt_r
    ow_num
          iv_value = abap_true ).

  • Create default user settings like WIndows XP

    When I configure a Windows machine I can make the desktop and all application settings I want. I then copy the profile to the DEFAULT USER account. Now when any user is created on that machine it takes on all the same settings as the default account.
    This allows me to set proxy settings in all browsers, setup printers, backgrounds, and other other preferences. the new account gets these settings on creation.
    How do I do this on the macintosh? When it creates a new user they all look the same so there must be some plist files or settings somewhere I can change when I build the image.
    We have 850+ machines running 10.4 through 10.6. We use a firewall in transparent mode because the mac's cant handle the proxy settings with all the roaming profiles and home/synced accounts.
    If I can get all new accounts created to take on the necessary settings by default we can switch our firewall to non transparent and that opens up a lot of features we must have. Plus it would be nice to have the same look and feel on every single account.

    /System/Library/User Template is where all of these are stored. You will have enable the root login account and log in to it in order to make changes to that folder with the GUI.
    Changing anything in the System folder is always a bit unreliable, though. Apple might release a software update that will undo any of the changes.
    If you really are managing 850+ Macs, you should look into getting OS X Server. OS X Server has the tools you need to set up custom templates for new users, without having to muck in the System folder.

  • Customize default user settings for new RemoteApp logins

    Hi all,
    I'm poking around with RemoteApp on Windows 2012 R2 and have it set up to use a centralized file share for the user profiles and everything seems to be working ok. Is there a way for me to customize some of the options in a user's profile for the first time
    that they fire up a RemoteApp? Is it like a physical desktop where the hidden "c:\Users\Default" profile gets copied into the new user profile? I know once a user saves settings in a RemoteApp (browser bookmarks, default program options, etc....)
    it gets saved in their profile on the central file server but I'd like to save them as much time as I can by giving them a precustomized profile.
    Thanks

  • Default user settings - prevent them from being wiped out

    Elements 6.0 comes with intitial settings. For example:
    Select tools have Anti-alias set to On.
    The location of dialog boxes is pre-defined, then can be moved by the user.  Eg Selection > Feather, Create new layer, all the Enhancements, etc.
    Preset manager, Preferences.
    Other ease-of-use things I don't remember.
    When I exit the program my settings are preserved. The next time I open the program the settings are as I left them.
    But if Photoshop exits abnormally, and sometimes when it's just ornery, my settings are back to the factory settings.
    I figure these user settings are saved in a file somewhere.  If I save the file and Photoshop reverts to factory settings, I should be able to restore the saved file and be back to hunky dory. But what file is it?
    Anyone know what file this is, or another way around this nuisance problem?

    Yes, you can save the current set of preferences and use those to replace corrupt preference files.
    If on Windows, the preferences are in a hidden folder so you'll first have to "show hidden files and folders" on your system.
    How to show hidden files and folders on Vista and Windows7:
    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/show-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-vist a/
    After you have "hidden files and folders" toggled to show...
    If on Vista or Windows 7, type .psp in the start menu search bar, Photoshop elements 6 editor Prefs.psp (or worded similar) will show up in the list. Right click the name and select copy. Right click on your desktop and select Paste from the menu. Once this is done, you should now have a copy of your current editor preferences that you can move wherever you want to save them. You can do the same with the organizer preference file.
    If on XP, you'll have to navigate to the file. As with Vista and XP, you'll have to show hidden files and folders first.
    How to show hidden files and folders on XP:
    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows/display-hidden-folders-in-xp/
    I believe, the file path you need to navigate to get to your preferences will be:
    C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements.
    Note: I would recommend when finished coping your preference files going back and toggling off "show" hidden files and folders.
    On Mac, I believe you would find them using the path Barbara gives in post #1 of this thread:

    We did it in one of our system by creating a transaction variant that defaults to EN. We had a issue with MM/DD/YYYY though even with the transaction variant.
    Actually there is a paramter zcsa/moddatfm ( Parameter for Default date format when creating users with transactions SU01 ). By default its value is 1 for DD.MM.YYYY and it has to be changed to 2 for MM/DD/YYYY.

  • Automatic Default User settings for new users

    Hi,
        When creating users in SU01 , the settings in the default tab is mapping to the original standard. Is there any way to make the settings so that the new users created with the required settings?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vimal

    As far as i know this is a standard setting and if you copy any user then you have option to select the default tab and it will copy the data from existing user but while creating it will pick the standard setting only.

  • Netboot : boot image - default user settings

    Hello
    So far I have successfully created from installation DVDs a netboot boot image and customized/modified it so that I can use it for all users created on the MacOSX Server.
    Now for some details I was not able to resolve them. I can not persistently set some computer preferences/settings assigned to the administrator like timezone, ntp-server etc. on the client.
    Also I have noticed, that after booting from the netboot image, the client has for the login window an US keyboard layout but should have in our case a swiss-german layout, because otherwise our users can not enter correctly their login passwords, especially if they use some some special characters in their passwords. Is there any way to set this this on the netboot image or in the clients nvram ?
    Many thanks in advance, André Müller

  • Want to export user settings from Office 2007 on client, to be able to import in Office 2013?

    Upgrading from Office 2007 to Office 2013. We may need to save the user settings on the client computer, because we are moving some of the systems from 32-bit to 64-bit. How can we export the settings to a folder?

    Hi,
    Could you please tell us what is included in user setting? Such as the customized Quick Access Toolbar settings, customize ribbon settings, or profile in Outlook?
    Generally, we can’t upgrade operating system from 32-bit to 64-bit directly, we need to reinstall 64-bit operating system.
    Office 2007 don’t provide the Import/Export button like Office 2010/Office 2013, we can’t export QAT setting and customize ribbon setting directly.
    To customize an installation of Office 2013, you can use the Office Customization Tool (OCT) to perform tasks such as the following:
    Specifying installation options
    Customizing how Office applications and features are installed
    Configuring default user settings
    Managing additional content: add or remove files, registry entries or shortcuts
    Configuring Outlook options: setting the default profile, adding email accounts, and specifying Exchange      settings

  • Default User Template for AD users with Win home dirs

    Hi all,
    Can anyone tell me if it's possible for AD users with Windows based home directories to get a default user template given to them the first time they login to a Mac bound to AD?
    I can give local users and users with home dirs on our Xserve my default user settings via the English.lproj template, but I cannot for the life of me get this to work for those users with Windows based home directories.
    This is a biggie since my boss has mandated that ALL our student home directories are to be hosted under Windows from now on...
    Thanks in advance.

    So you are using roaming profiles on AD and when they log into a Mac you want to setup their default, is that what I am hearing?
    You will need to modify the English.lproj on the local machine to setup the default template. Since the mac server is not involved in the authentication and hosting of a roaming AD account with windows home folder, the client creates the home folder initially. Modify the default English.lproj on the clients.

  • How to configure default parental settings for all users (10.7)?

    Hello,
    I've made a silent installation of iTunes using MSI files and it works well.
    I need to enable parental controls and configure it. Users must be preventing of changing these settings.
    At the end of the iTunes installation I automatically created registry keys :
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apple Computer, Inc.\iTunes\Parental Controls]
    "AdminFlags"=dword:001b7ac5
    "AdminMoviesLimit"=dword:000000c8
    "AdminTVShowsLimit"=dword:000001f4
    "AdminRatingSystemID"=dword:0000000b
    "AdminGamesLimit"=dword:0000012c
    According to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2102 it is the procedure to set default parental settings for all users and to lock these settings.
    When iTunes is first launched, parental settings are not set nor locked.
    I use iTunes 64 bits on Windows 7 64 bits.
    Where is the mistake?
    Thanks in advance.

    You can set up a system cache for sharing jars: See here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/javaws/developersguide/enterprise_config.03.06.html

  • Formatting a date according with user settings (user defaults)

    Hi All,
    I need to format a date I receive via JS in YYYYMMDD format according with user defaults <b>without</b> server side action (I know, this is not a good issue, but they want it).
    My solution is to write a JS function (there are a lot of it on WWW) which accepts two strings and formats the first according to the second, something like:
    userFormattedDate = formatDate('20060613','DD.MM.YYYY');
    paying attention to generate 'DD.MM.YYYY' string on server side, according to user settings.
    But if this isn't a weblog, where is the question? :-D
    The question is: is there a JS function (in DatePicker or dateNavigator BSP) provided by standard libraries which serves similar functionality?
    Does exist a JS public standard library?
    Thanks.
    Dany

    Hi Durairaj,
    Tags <% %> are for server side actions.
    The question is about obtaining the same effect, but client side.
    Thanks.
