Defining SC dependencies in SLD doesn't work!

Hello,
we are using NWDI 2004. i created a new product and a new SC. So far, so good. but creating dependencies in build time for developing SC in SLD  doesn't work.
I get the following mesage after creating the dependency:
Created prerequisites to SANDBOXSC, 1.0 of xxx at BuildTime  (Details)
but after refreshing there are no defined dependencies to find in usage dependencies list.
unfortunately i cant find any log entry to analyze the problem.
by deleting a defined dependency from usage dependency list is the same. i get a corresponding message but after refreshing the the entry is still in usage dependency list.
i tried to define dependencies manually im CMS Web UI using Required Software Components and   get the following message:
After adding a required SC manually, you must edit its dependencies in the CBS Build Compartment XML
accordingly i change the XML of CBS Build Compartment using  "Check and Edit XML of CBS Build Compartment" in CMS Web UI.
<dependencies>
<used-compartment>sap.com_SAP_JTECHS_1</used-compartment>
<used-compartment>sap.com_SAP-JEE_1</used-compartment>
<used-compartment>sap.com_SAP_BUILDT_1</used-compartment>
</dependencies>
<build-variants>
<build-variant name="default" required-for-activation="yes">
<variant-mappings>
<variant-mapping used-compartment="sap.com_SAP_JTECHS_1" used-variant-name="default"/>
<variant-mapping used-compartment="sap.com_SAP-JEE_1" used-variant-name="default"/>
<variant-mapping used-compartment="sap.com_SAP_BUILDT_1" used-variant-name="default"/>
</variant-mappings>
</build-variant>
</build-variants>
but after saving and restoring the track data the manually changed data were delated.  I suppose because of sync with SLD.
any idea what is the reason for this and how to solve it?
kind regards
rouzbeh

Hi Ravi,
If you want to create DC there is no need to create software component and product , DC itself is a indepenedent container. DC is used to share different DC's
example:
dc1 -> go to your componect -> click add to public part (by addition your dc to public part it becomes available)
dc2-> dcmetadata -> used dc's ->right click -> add used dc's
in dc2 you will get all reference to all the compoenent for which u have done public part
Hope it is becomes clear to you now.

Hemant

  • User-defined variable in selection variant - doesn't work?

    Hello,
    Anyone had any experience of using user-defined variables (type B) in a selection variant? I can't get this to work in 4.7 or ECC 6.0. Seems like a bug - there's no way to specify the name of the variable. The theory behind their use is fine, but I wonder if anyone has successfully used them?
    Thanks,
    Chris.

    In an ECC 5 system, I can get to these showing if I'm in a report selection screen and I use the "Goto > User variables" (or Ctrl-F6) option... but note that it will only show the menu option if there are report parameters that have a PID on them and where the PID is defined in table TUVID (see note 144459).  That said, personally I've only used the "T" option and maintained system wide values in table TVARVC.

  • TREX registration to SLD doesn't work.

    Hi everyone!
    I have installed a new TREX 7.0 with the latest patch level and I have a real issue in the post task of the TREX installation guide. When the TREX tries to update the remote SLD with own data it get's an error message "HTTP ERROR CODE 400" Bad request. I'm using the default port 50000 and XISUPER as user to connect to the SLD. The SLD runs on the same instance as SAP XI. Is it possibly to run SAP XI 3.0 SP 18 with NW2004s TREX or do I need to upgrade the SAP XI instance to the latest WEB AS (ABAP & JAVA) to be able to communicate with the TREX? I have also updated the SLD with the latest CIM model and I'm now running out of ideas. So any suggestions would be nice.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
    As a solution part please cerify that u have to apply the same patch level in ABAP+JAVA, also identify which is the lowest level patch required by TREX to be installed on the system.
    I think the problem is in Patch level..if it is not then please follow all the procedure describe in "Installation - Search and Classification TREX Single Host.pdf" on service.sap.com
    If it helpfull to u please dont forget to reward the points..
    Thanks

  • Import into SLD does not work

    Hi to all,
    I want to synchronize the central sld of our production XI with the backup from the test sld, like in note 935474 grouping sld instances described. Import of CIM model works, import of backup of sld doesn't work. It is impossible to import a file bigger than 1023k. Import fails without error message in the log, only IE error message server not found.Is there a max upload size ? Don't know where to look ?
    thanks

  • Using Office 2013 group policy template to define Trusted Locations and Template Locations doesn't work

    User Configuration/Policies/Administrative Templates
    - Using Office 2013 group policy template to define Trusted Locations and Template Locations doesn't work
    Microsoft Word 2013/Word Options/Security/Trust Center/Trusted Locations
    - Allow Trusted Locations on the network:
    Enabled
    - Trusted Location #1:
    Enabled
    Path:  //server/sharedfoldername   [Edit:  Path:
    \\server\sharedfoldername]
    Date: June 10, 2013
    Description: Trusted Location
    Allow sub folders: Enabled
    The policy appears to apply to the client correctly by adding the following registry key and values:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\15.0\word\security\trusted locations\location1
    allowsubfolders: 1
    date: June 10, 2013
    Description: Trusted Location
    Path:  //server/sharedfoldername  [Edit: Path:
    \\server\sharedfoldername]
    However, when you open Word Options/Trust Centre/Trust Centre Settings…/Trusted Locations
    There are no trusted locations listed under ‘Policy Locations’
    I have tried setting similar settings for setting the Shared Templates folder location and just like the trusted locations policy, the registry keys are created properly in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies however word doesn’t
    seem to recognize these either.
    This used to work flawlessly using the administrative templates for Word 2007 and 2010. Has anyone been able to get these policies to apply successfully, or know why office doesn’t recognize these settings from the Policies registry
    Key?

    This would have been an easy solution to the issue.  Unfortunately it isn't the problem.  This question was originally posted on another Microsoft site and
    was transferred here and when it was transferred the path's changed from the original post:
    \\server\sharedfodlername to //server/sharedfoldername.  (I will edit the question to show up as it did in the original post) Not sure how that happened.  This
    is still an issue that I haven't been able to get working correctly.
    As it turns out the 'New from Template' interface Word 2013 has developed is very bulky with large thumbnails and is not very customizable nor practical for an office
    that has a large number of templates.   Because I am unsatisfied with the display and performance of the 'New' template chooser I sought after a solution to change the way word creates a document from a template in another thread:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-word/how-can-you-change-the-display-of-templates-in/d49194b9-a6b4-4768-8502-7d7b50e9dd65 working through this issue with Jay we were able to develop
    some VB script with handles a very large number of templates in a list view and it works much faster than the built-in Word interface.  The above thread is how I've worked around trying to define a shared template location and I am quite happy with it.

  • SLD Update doesn't work anymore

    Hi everybody,
    I have a strange problem with our SLD landscape. Overall we have 3 SLD. The productive PI (PIP) SLD contains all productive systems, the develop PI SLD (PID) contains all develop and quality assurance systems. Both SLDs are configured to forward those informations to the SLD of the solution manager.
    It works for a long time but since a few days the productive PI SLD doesn't forward any information and I have no clue why. I can see only one log entry.
    #3621 10/17/2011 10:46:48.193 [Thread-1389239] INFO com.sap.sld.api.builder.app.DefineHostedSystem: Communication exception in SLD ping (HTTP 401 = UNAUTHORIZED): http://PIP01:58500/sld/cimom, namespace sld/active.
    PIP can't ping and access itselfes?
    The configuration of SLD Bridge in PID and PIP are identical, latest CIM is imported in all systems, same user to connect the SLD to solution manager.
    Any idea?
    Kind regards,
    Andy

    Hi Joe,
    Clients can update their records to the PIP SLD. Thats the point where I noticed that replication doesn't work. I added a new productive SAP System via RZ70 to SLD but I didn't get the information in Solution Manager in SMSY. For development and quality assurance systems it works well with SLD of PID.
    I use the same user to connect, but can't find any error in logs whether I turned on log level to fine. In Administration I can see
    Updated SLDs:
    http://versap01:55000/sld
    (local) sld/active
    If I sort the Server in Technical Systems by Last Update all looks fine in PIP but not in SLD of Solution Manager.

  • Systemd network-route configuration: defining source-ip doesn't work

    I have a machine that has multiple outgoing IP -addresses (one of which is a Keepalived VIP) and I want to force outgoing traffic to use a certain IP. This is what I thought would be the best solution:
    [Match]
    Name=eth0
    [Network]
    DNS=8.8.8.8
    DNS=2001:4860:4860::8888
    Address=a.b.c.d/24
    Address=x:y:z/64
    Gateway=x:y
    [Route]
    Destination=0.0.0.0/0
    Gateway=a.b.c.d
    Source=a.b.c.d/32
    However; it doesn't work. `ip route` still shows "default via a.b.c.d dev eth0" without a source IP. If I manually execute `ip route del default via a.b.c.d dev eth0  proto static` it works fine

    A small update.
    The collisions happen everytime you try to do something (dhcp and ping). It doesn't collide with any of the other computers so the problem is 100% on the computer or between it and the router.
    Edit: only at the computer, router is working fine with the computer since it works when you try with the livecd.
    The computer can't seem to reconnect after the router been down too (the router recognises a network connection but it isn't in the list of attached devices).
    I should try with an older kernel later since it works on the livecd and has been working before.
    I'm not entirely sure the tlan module gives what it should, anyone one knows if this output seems ok?
    TLAN: eth0: Starting autonegotiation.
    TLAN: Giving autonegotiation more time.
    TLAN: Please check that your adapter has
    TLAN: been properly connected to a HUB or Switch.
    TLAN: Trying to establish link in background...
    TLAN: eth0: Autonegotiation complete.
    TLAN Starting internal PHY with HALF-DUPLEX
    TLAN: eth0: Link active
    The tlan module is pretty weird but what I remeber - the output looked like that when I had it working too.

    I can run the application correctly in jdeveloper 11g environment. I think there is something wrong with deployment. Can anyone help me?

    When you target url with .jspx, you are running the page itself, not in the task flow context, so navigation doesn't work.
    In the task flow, your page has 'Activity ID' (which is, for example, 'mainPage' for mainPage.jspx) and the navigation is defined for activity IDs, not pages.

  • Firefox doesn't work on certain websites

    I am continually running into sites that don't work well with Firefox. I tend to think it's because of the rapid-fire changes FF makes to itself, but nevertheless, it's annoying. The sites all tell me to "use Chrome" as a solution, and most times, that works. The thing is, I don't like Chrome. I have FF set up the way I want it. It is my browser of choice, despite the fact that it is losing users to Chrome every day. I don't think I will ever switch, but I really need it to work consistently. I'm having to use the portable version now because the desktop version doesn't work for me anymore. After the latest update, Flash sites won't load half the time. They too work in Chrome.
    This time it is redgage.com. Most of the features only work if I use the right click and open it in a new tab. I've tried safe mode.
    What is the solution to this? I don't have time to keep making adjustments to the program and coming in here to get no answers, and everyone saying they have no problems. SERIOUSLY? That's not what all my friends who switched to Chrome are saying. I feel like I'm losing my right arm.

    Yes, every link on RedGage is broken. To open one in the same tab, you have to drag and drop it on the address bar.
    But I think it's their fault. In the Browser Console:
    13:46:52.262 ReferenceError: event is not defined MainViewModel.js
    Looks like a rookie mistake in this script:
    self.trigger = function (modelView, evt) {
    var target;
    util.hidePopup();
    '''if (event.ctrlKey || event.metaKey || event.which == 2) {'''
    return true;
    if (evt.preventDefault) {
    evt.preventDefault();
    target = $(evt.target);
    } else
    target = $(evt);
    var url = target && $(target).closest('a').attr('href') || $('.filter li.active a').attr('href');
    if (url)
    self.do_load_url(url);
    return false;
    In the bolded line, "event" is a typo and should be "evt". Maybe if you point them to this thread they'll fix it. Even if other browsers work this way.

  • Return the User to the Calling Page - doesn't work

    Hello All,
    I set up the "Issue tracker" tutorial to get in tuch with the apex (htmldb vers. 2.0)
    All is working well but: Return the User to the Calling Page -> doesn't work. I performed all steps as descriped in the tutorial (iclusive the '.' on the &P7_PREV_PAGE ;-) ).
    I use my own aplication at home and followed all the instruction steps few times but it does not work. Can you help me please?
    Do I have to install something more?
    In the Branch section: * 1: Go To Page &P7_PREV_PAGE. (Unconditional)
    In the Item section: 90: P7_PREV_PAGE Hidden
    In the Button section for cancel Button: &P7_PREV_PAGE.
    Here is the description of the function in the tutorial:
    Because this Create/Edit page will be called from several places, when users finish with the display they should return to the calling page. To accomplish this, you create an item and change the branch on this page. Every time this page is called, the item must be set with the number of the calling page.
    To create a hidden item:
    1. Under Items, click the Create icon.
    2. For Select Item Type, select Hidden and click Next.
    3. For Display Position and Name:
    1. For Item Name, enter:
    P7_PREV_PAGE
    2. For Region, select Issue Identification.
    3. Click Next.
    4.
    Click Create Item.
    Next, edit the Cancel button.
    5. Under Buttons, select Cancel.
    6. Scroll down to Optional URL Redirect.
    7. In Page, enter:
    &P7_PREV_PAGE.
    Note the period at the end.
    8. Click Apply Changes.
    Next, edit the branch.
    9. Under Action, enter the following in Page:
    &P7_PREV_PAGE.
    10. Click Apply Changes.
    All steps are done but I still got the message: Error ERR-1016 Application "106" Page "0" not found (requested language="de")
    OK
    I move the mousepointer over the cancel button: javascript:redirect('f?p=106:0:5265993428922076876::NO:::')
    Thank you for helping me!
    best regards Thorsten

    All,
    I haven't looked at that tutorial for quite a while but just gave it a quick look.
    Further down in the tutorial, it directs you to set the value of P7_PREV_PAGE, under Add Functionality to Support Adding Multiple Issues Sequentially - have you done that? There is also a mention that there is more branching to be done - "The branch you just created is looking for a value in P7_PREV_PAGE. Since the page was not called from another page, the value has not been set. You need to fix that next." It goes on to have you define that value from other places.
    Can you describe what you are doing when you get the error? There could be something missing from the tutorial. A way around it would be to create a default value for P7_PREV_PAGE so that if it is not set, a default page will be used.

    Go to 'System Settings' -> 'Application Appearance' -> 'Style' -> 'Fine Tuning' and change 'Menubar style' to 'Only export'. Just checked, works fine with qt applications.
    I'm not sure about gtk apps, though. I recall reading somewhere that, in addition to installing appmenu-gtk and its dependencies, one needed to specify something in the .gtkrc and/or .config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini file(s). Well that or my memory might just be playing tricks on me.
    EDIT:
    If for some reason gtk apps refuse to export their menus, you might want to look at this webupd8 article. Good luck!

    # formsweb.cfg defines parameter values used by the FormsServlet (frmservlet)
    # This section defines the Default settings. Any of them may be overridden in the
    # following Named Configuration sections. If they are not overridden, then the
    # values here will be used.
    # The default settings comprise two types of parameters: System parameters,
    # which cannot be overridden in the URL, and User Parameters, which can.
    # Parameters which are not marked as System parameters are User parameters.
    # SYSTEM PARAMETERS
    # These have fixed names and give information required by the Forms
    # Servlet in order to function. They cannot be specified in the URL query
    # string. But they can be overridden in a named configuration (see below).
    # Some parameters specify file names: if the full path is not given,
    # they are assumed to be in the same directory as this file. If a path
    # is given, then it should be a physical path, not a URL.
    # USER PARAMETERS
    # These match variables (e.g. %form%) in the baseHTML file. Their values
    # may be overridden by specifying them in the URL query string
    # (e.g. "http://myhost.example.com/forms/frmservlet?form=myform&width=700")
    # or by overriding them in a specific, named configuration (see below)

    In addition to the starting the WebLogic server (WLS), you will need to start the Forms Services also. Also, with respects to the WLS, you can set environment variables for the User ID (WLS_USER) and PW (WLS_PW) so you are not prompted each time you start the WLS.
    Hope this helps,
    Craig B-)

  • Save As... Duplicate lvproj file doesn't work correctly with lvlibs/lvclasses

    I am trying to save a copy of a project with all dependencies so that I can sent a subset of our code to NI technical support for another issue. I have been unable to do this successfully and have isolated this to limitations of "Save As..." --> "Duplicate .lvproj file and contents (Include all dependencies)" when handling lvlibs and lvclasses. I am wondering if I am doing something wrong or if there is a workaround.
    I am using LabView 8.6.1 under Windows. A sample project displaying this issue is attached. To repro the problem I am having,
    Open library.lvproj. This is simple project with one library (SimpleLibrary.lvlib) and two VIs that are member of that library. (Add.vi and Subtract.vi).
    File -> Save As... -> Duplicate .lvproj file and contents (Include all dependencies)
    Pick a new location in your filesystem somewhere.
    The save starts, then LabView puts up a dialog box "Cannot save library 'SimpleLibrary.lvlib'. Another library in memory is already loaded from that path." (Note that this is not true; the library is loaded from the original project path; nothing has as of yet been saved to the new project path.)
    LabView it gives you a file dialog in the target location. If you click OK (opting to save it to the new location in the same relative path as in the original project), it returns to the "Cannot save library" dialog box. If you create a new folder (i.e. "New Folder") in the target and descend into the target, then the save is allowed, but when you re-open the project it looks for the library at the old location (relative to the new copy of the project), and it opens it as conflicted. The conflicts must be resolved manually.
    The manual move-and-unconflict process is tolerable with a simple project containing one library, but it is impractical in a large project with dozens of lvlibs and classes.
    Can anyone suggest a workaround for this behavior so that a project can be exported with all of its dependencies and without path corruption?
    Thanks,
    Rob

    I loved Ben's suggestion because it promised to be a low-effort workaround, but, alas, I get the same problem: "lvlib is already loaded from this path...".
    I tried Olivia's workaround for CAR 124214. It worked great for the simple lvproj that is posted above. (Hooray!) It didn't work so well in my real project, that has about 30 lvlibs and lvclasses. About 3/4 of the way through the save, I got a compiler error and LabView crashed. (Boo!) I submitted the crash log on this, but it's hard to imagine how anyone in R&D could make any progress debugging this without the source code. (And I can't submit the source because I can't export a copy of it!)
    Anyway, thank you very much Ben and Olivia for your suggestions. I have lvclasses embedded in lvlibs (primarily for organizational reasons) and since LabView tanked while saving one of those, perhaps the workaround doesn't work in this case. I may try again after removing the lvclasses from the lvlibs so that the hierarchy is flatter.
