Deleting Information Broadcasting Scheduled Jobs

Does anyone know how to delete an Information Broadcasting setting after the associated workbook has been deleted? The IB job runs when the data provider is updated and just hangs because it can not find the workbook. In IB distribution you can view the scheduled settings, but it does not let you delete.

I am encoutering the same problem from last one month, There was a scheduled job created for Workbook as daily frequency.
The workbook now has been deleted but the scheduled job created for that workbook is triggering everyday.I am unable to delete the setting now.Can you please help me out for deleting this background job!!!!
I deleted the job in SM37 with the option 'delete the job from database'(delete icon)also, but again it is scheduling next day.
Transaction RSRD_ADMIN is not working for me.
Please let me the procedure to delete this background job..answers will be awarded with maximum points

when i execute directly the setting for information broadcasting a mail is being sent but when i schedule the same setting in transaction SOST it is showing warning 'waiting for communication service'.how to remove that.

Information Broadcasting - scheduling BI reports

Hi
I have a requirement for information broadcasting for few reports generated on different infoproviders. The reports should be scheduled only on weekdays i.e., Monday to Friday and no users should have the authority either to view or modify the broadcasting setting except administrator.
I'm completety new to Information Broadcasting.Please suggest me on how to achieve this.

Information Broadcaster scheduling

Hi all
In BI 7.0 broadcaster settings, i want to include the schedule time which i created in SM36, but the thing is even if i made a Job setting created in SM36, i am not able to see the Job settings in Broadcaster scheduler drop down ( by clicking the overall settings i can change to direct scheduling or when data changes/ define the time), I have the required authorization, Am i missing anything here.

Information broadcasting scheduling

Hi all
I have 200 reports with 20 company codes in dev box, i Created folders in portal for all 20 company codes and I scheuled all the reports for daily. Schduling time is 12 am to 4 am for all the reports. All these reports should genarate PDF in to the paticular company code folder.
Here is my problem today i checked all the folders but i didnt get all the report, some of them were missing. I checked sm21 there i found some database DB COMMIT errors. So any clue how to fix this error.

Make sure that no load (cubes related to this reports) is happening while information broadcast/ make sure that all the process chains loading the cubes related to this reports are scheduled in different timings to IB.

Varible for Information Broadcasting Schedule (send Workbook with E-mail)

FYI: I set a broadcasting schedule to send workbook with e-mail. The pre-calculated server was set already.
My problem is that I want the value in selection-screen to be dynamic.
e.g. I want the date (variable for 0CALDAY) to be filled with value of current date (the date on the day that the schedule is executed).
When i set the broadcasting schedule, the wizard asks me to set the variable for selection screen. ("Variable Assignment"). I selected the variance that i prepared. (However, for that variance the date is fixed.) So, for everyday that the schedule is executed, the date value of the selection-screen is not the date that the broadcast schedule is execute; but it was the date on which i set the schedule.
Is there any method to set a dynamic variable (something like a dynamic selection of ABAP report) ?
or How can i solve this problem?

Hi Rlyn,
Have you thought of using standard SAP exit variable for restricting 0CALDAY in the query in the workbook on which the setting has been scheduled.
The SAP exit would automatically determine the current date and query your dataset as per the current date and then broadcast.
Other way to do this would be to create a variant ....as you have done and to change the value of the variant everyday using an ABAP program to change the value in the database tables (RSRVARIANT for 3.x and RSPARAMETERIZA)
I would suggest you to try the former method(SAP exit variable).

Information broadcasting scheduling from web frontend

hi all,
i want to initiate the process of executing information broadcasting while clicking a button on my web frontend(BPS-web).
i mean after clicking on a button on frontend ,the button is linked to some function module and that function module in turn executes broadcasting.
can anyone suggest some solution.

The Web API allows you to call Broadcasting using a URL Web API Command:
<SAP_BW_URL CMD='START_BROADCASTER ' SOURCE_OBJECT_TYPE=DP
SOURCE_DATA_PROVIDER='DP1' START_WIZARD=X DISTRIBUTION_TYPE=MAIL>
You can call this using javascript and have a button that kicks off the broadcasting dialog.

BI Publisher Bursting sending Email even after I delete schedule job

I am facing some weird issue in BI Publisher. We have a BI Publisher report and we are using Bursting query to burst the report to destination Email. It works fine when i run manually. It also worked fine when i schedule it first time for particular time. few days ago client wanted to change the scheduling time. Since there is no way to modify the scheduling time, i deleted the old schedule jobs from BI Publisher as well as i truncated the following tables from DB where it stores scheduling job information.
XMLP_SCHED_JOB
XMLP_SCHED_OUTPUT
XMLP_SCHED_SUBSCRIPTION
I also created the new scheduling job based on new time. The issue is Clients are getting the emails in old time as well as new scheduling timel. I can see the new scheduling information in following table so no information of old scheduling time. How BI Publisher is still running the report on old time. I research a lot but still i am not able to find the place from where it is still sending the old emails. Can anyone please have any idea to resolve this?

Did you delete the job schedule using the GUI first? Otherwise by manually deleting the records from XMLP_ tables
may somehow have corrupted the scehduling option.
There are other components for the scheduler which are not only saved in XMLP_ tables and these
are the QUARTZ tables.
As of release 11g there is not mechanism to manage BIP scheduler tables.

or u can use fm..

Does anyone have experince on the functionality Information Broadcasting ,Can you please help me where we use Trigger event when change in the info provider in the process chains.I want to know when we use the (Trigger event in the Broadcaster) in the process chains,how will it take effect in the Information Broadcasting scheduler screen when we select the particular Info provider when there is any data change.Can you please elaborate on the topic if any one has used the event data change in the info provider.Actually I Executed and scheduled the pocess chains, when I go to the Process chain log ,It says that the Job is finished and the data change is occured for the Cube,but I dont get any error message and I dont get any mail to my Inbox.Can you please through some light if anyone has worked on this,Answers are always appreciated and rewarded.

Usually we trigger an event in SM64 tcode..if u want to create an event u will go for SM62.
In addition to time- and calendar-based job scheduling, the background processing system supports event-driven scheduling.
Triggering an event notifies the background processing system that a particular condition has been met. The background processing system reacts by starting any jobs that were waiting for that event.
Events are not saved. Once an event occurs and triggers any jobs that were waiting for that event, the event is discarded
U can monitor process chain via Tcode 'CCMS'..
Information broadcasting allows you to make objects with Business Intelligence content available to a wide spectrum of users, according to your own requirements.

Settings for information broadcasting

Hello,
Can someone tell me where I can go and delete information broadcasting settings to stop emailing. I created a few test queries and also scheduled information broadcasting for those queries. Those queries were deleted without deleting information broadcasting settings. Now I need to go in and delete settings for those queries to stop getting emails from them.

When an Information Broadcaster setting has been executed, whether it's being executed right this minute or scheduled at a later date, is this creating a background job that can be viewed within SM37? If so, are these jobs using Work Processors within the BW system?
Could these Information Broadcaster active jobs be competing with daily data loads for work processors? Can there be a performance hit on the system if too many broadcaster jobs get executed at the same time?
Also, I understand the Pre-Calc server is mandatory for using the Information Broadcaster, but does this server act as the processor for queries that are being executed? Or is this simply providing the formatting of the broadcasted report?
What is the main function of the pre-calc server?

What is the main function of the pre-calc server?
1. You can either schedule for later time or execute it immediately.
2. Yes it will create a job and view it in sm37 and it uses the work processor for the bw system.
3. You can do it right after data load if you need to broadcast ever day or week depending on your PC schedule. or you can independelty broadcast without the data load. There is broadcasting in the PC to broadcast after data load.
4. Yes, in my experience performance badly hit when you have so many broadcasting scheduled.
5. Pre-cal server is not mandatory for broadcasting, you need pre-cal only for broadcasting workbook but queries, templates.. you can use information broadcasting without pre-cal.
pre-cal server is for calculating workbooks offtime and it will either load to your client machine and you can use pre-cal for broadcasting workbook.

Which are the required roles/privs for viewing all scheduler jobs in OEM?

Platform: Oracle 11.1.0.6 Enterprise Edition (64) Windows 2008 R2 Server
- I've created a new Admin user in "OEM>Setup>Adminstrators>Create"
- I checked the user in "OEM>Server>Users":
CREATE USER "SA_ADMIN"
PROFILE "DEFAULT"
INDENTIFIED BY "saadminsa"
DEFAULT TABLESPACE "SYSAUX"
TEMPORARY TABLESPACE "TEMP"
ACCOUNT UNLOCK;
GRANT SELECT ANY DICTIONARY TO "SA_ADMIN";
GRANT "MGMT_USER" TO "SA_ADMIN"
- "SA_ADMIN" was granted only the permissions above.
- I can log in OEM as "SA_ADMIN"
- I can see OEM backup jobs and the history
- But I cannot see any "scheduler" jobs in "OEM>Server>Jobs"
- I get a lists of the jobs in "OEM>Scheduler Central" but I cannot display any more information of "scheduler jobs"
- I logged off from OEM
- I granted SCHEDULER_ADMIN role to "SA_ADMIN"
GRANT SCHEDULER_ADMIN TO "SA_ADMIN";
- I logged back in OEM as "SA_ADMIN
- I can now see some scheduler jobs, but not all of the jobs, I still cannot see any of the new jobs I created logged in OEM as SYS.

if you grant "SYSDBA" to the new Admin user then you can see the "scheduler" jobs.
GRANT SYSDBA TO "SA_ADMIN";
I wanted to grant "read" access in OEM for the new user.
This behaviour is strange.
Without the "SYSDBA" role the new user can see the OEM backup jobs that were create in as SYS, but it cannot see the "scheduler" jobs.

Information Broadcaster: What is Predefined Timepoint? and Timepoint Job?

Hi,
I am using Information Broadcaster. We have some process chains to schedule broadcaster. But before this there 2 jobs.
1. Timepoint job
2. Execution of broadcaster settings.
Can anybody tell me what is the significance of Timepoint job? What is predefined time point, timepoint ID?
All these things are new to me, please inform me all the details about it. If you have any documentation, please provide.
Also please tell me how precalculation is done for workbooks? what is the functionality of Precalculation?
Please answer in detail.
