Dell wireless 1538 802.11 a/g/n adapter

I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro 5830 and I cannot get an internet connection. When I run the Windows network diagnostics I get the message "The Dell wireless 1538 802.11 a/g/n adapter is experiencing driver or hardware related problems".
I have tried everything suggested in the Tablet.  What can I do now? I bought the Tablet through Amazon and I live in Venezuela.

I have the same EXACT problem for 3 days.Even with my 5 yr computer experience I still couldn't figure this issue out.Dell rep and I found a temp solution.restart......press f8 nonstop....click on repair......restore it to an earlier time....
this so far is the ONLY thing wev'e tried thats had a temp and pleasing result.let me guess there's a big red x on the bottom right hand corner? also try pressing fn + f2 same time......device manger-right click on dell wireless and disable, then enable.......
ive had my dell inspiron 5423 for 2 1/2 months off of ebay.still has warranty under owner before me.After tons of research I'm thinking either driver I bad,or hardware or when he installed fresh copy of windows 7,he didn't install everything in the correct order (very important thing to do).
If by chance you come across a permanent solution please keep me informed.

  • Dell Wireless(DW1530, DW1540) issues with VoIP on 802.11n

We are having issues with VoIP, using Microsoft Lync, over wireless.  We are experiencing static, jitter, dead air, and dropped words during calls.  We have a Cisco wireless infrastructure consisting of a 5508 controller and 2602 access points.  We're currently runng OS version 7.5.102.0, but the issues also occurred when running OS version 7.4.100.0.
On the client side, we've narrowed the issues down to Dell Laptops(Latitude E6430, Latitude D640, Latitude E6420) with Dell Wireless/Broadcom(DW1530, DW1540) network adapters that are 802.11n capable.
    Latitude E6430
    OS - Windows 7
    wireless adapter - DW1540
    driver - 5.100.82.112
    Latitude D640
    OS - Windows 7
    wireless adapter - DW1530
    driver - 5.100.235.12
    Latitude E6420
    OS - Windows 8
    wireless adapter - DW1530
    driver - 6.30.58.26
All of the drivers are the latest offered from Dell.
If we disable high throughput (802.11n) on the access points and force the clients to connect with 802.11a or 802.11g, we don't experience any issues.
If we use another manufacturers 802.11n USB NIC in the same hardware, we don't experience any issues.
This seems to be a compatibility issue between Dell Wireless(Broadcom) 802.11n capable network adapters and Cisco access points.  I'm guessing this issue is with all 802.11n traffic, but we're only noticing it during Microsoft Lync voice calls.
Has anybody else had this type of problem and found a resolution?

Has anybody else had this type of problem and found a resolution?
I've seen some Intel chips that simply "misbehaves" when operating in 802.11n.  Going to the laptop manufacturer's website to download the firmware is next to useless.  Going to the NIC manufacturer's website to download the LATEST firmware is more reliable.
There's a significant version "gap" between the firmware published with the laptop manufacturer vs the ones with the wireless NIC.
I suggest you go to Broadcom and load the latest firmware in one or two machines just to test.

  • Dell wireless 1450 wireless usb adapter

Hello, I recently bought the airport extreme and can get connected fine with my macbook, but when I try to connect the Dell PC using the Dell wireless 1450 usb adapter I can´t find the network, eventhough it finds other networks. I have tried with not having password protection and still nothing. would be great if anyone had a solution to this problem, thx in advance Kolmodin!

further info: wireless windows configuration is on, advanced settings set to any avialable network and nonpreffered net on auto, powersaves off, ap's us a ssid but are not encrypted no wep, ap's have to be added to the wireless networks via the properties of the network connection and when the signal is dropping it loses the wireless networks tab in this menu as well.

above card are having issue with WPA2 enabled ssid connecitivity. strange is , the same users are getting connected to other wep enabled SSID but its not working for WPA2 SSID.
I have external ACS server which is used for radius authentication. Last time I had put same query in support forum did some workaround.
eq. disabling DHCP proxy option in WLC and moving all DHCP scope in external server.
After doing this workaround this mentioned users are still facing issue. I gone through some cisco document and some forums and came across that there is something to be done in " Session Timed Out "  optionin WLC
which is default 1800 sec based on that I tried to capture debug outputs for mentioned above problematic clients and user who is working fine .
I gone through the same debug output  and observed :
User who is working fine :
    Processing Access-Accept for mobile 00:22:5f:8d:55:84
00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx Setting re-auth timeout to 1800 seconds, got from WLAN config.

  • WRT160Nv2 won't connect with Dell Wireless 1515 half-mini card

I just received a new Dell Studio 14z that has a Dell Wireless 1515 half-mini 802.11N card.  After messing around with it several times, I am still unable to get it to connect wirelessly to my WRT160Nv2 router.  Whenever I try to connect to the network, I get the following error from Windows Vista:
Wireless association failed because WIndows did not receive any response from the wireless router or access point.
I do use MAC Address filtering on the router, but I've added all 3 MAC address the system has (1 for wired, 1 for wireless, 1 for bluetooth).  I've also checked the WEP security key MANY times and am sure it is entered correctly.  I have also tried updating to the latest firmeware, 2.0.0.3 build 7.  Nothing seems to help at all.
I don't know what else to look at to determine the cause of the problem.  Does anyone have any suggestions about what the problem might be?
    Thank You

Did you reset the router after upgrading the router's firmware...If not then,Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds.Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...
For the wireless computer you need the Mac Address of the wireless Adapter while enabling  MAC Address filtering on the router.

  • Windows 8 and Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC

    Hi!
I hava a Toshiba L650 - 107 PSKI JE and I am having a problem with the my wireless network adapter on windows 8.
My network adapter is Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC and works fine on windows 7. Two days ago I formatted my hard drive and install windows 8. The problem is that for much drivers I keep installing, The wireless keep turned off. There's no way I can move the slide from off to on.
I already tried a lot of drivers from toshiba and from realtek but doesn't work.
I went to see the Network Connections (Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections) and the Ethernet is fine, I connect a cable and it is fine, but wi-fi says "Not connected".
How do I solve this problem?

    Satellite L650-107 (PSK1JE-00P003EP)
    Downloads here.
A computer from Portugal? (Specifications attached.)
This driver should work on Windows 8.
       Realtek Wireless LAN Driver
But your problems may be more fundamental. Prior to loading Toshiba-specific programs, you probably need to install something like this.
Toshiba System Driver - Windows 8 beta
And for the function keys to work, you'll need still another Toshiba utility.

Now the (problem) we are having is we are lucky to get 13.0 Mbps & that's if we stay online. Our World of Warcraft gets booted a lot. Which makes gaming hard when I purchased the WRT330N for gaming.
We have the latest drivers for the Wirelss adapters, Firmware is up to date.
    Setup is as follows.

Home network using Airport Extreme Base Station with WPA-PSK (TKIP) Security. All works well with MACs in the house (G5, iMac, and Powerbook). Trying to connect a Dell Latitude D610 with built-in Dell Wireless 1370 WLAN mini-PCI Card to the home network.
Initially home network is not seen on Dell Laptop in available networks (as expected as it has not been added to list of available networks and is a "closed" network)although I do see the neighbors network so card is working and sees "open" networks.
Set-up options for the Dell 1370 card include:
    Network Name (SSID)
Network Authentication (Includes "open", "shared", "802.1X", "WPA", "WPA-PSK", and "CCKM")
Data Encryption (When WPA-PSK is selected it defaults to Auto)
    Network Key
    Confirm Key
All other configuration items are greyed out.
I enter my SSID, select WPA-PSK, Data Encryption defaults to auto, tried entering passwrod in Network Key and Confirm Key which does not seem to work. Adds to list of preferred networks but does not indicate availability.
Question is I have a password that I use on MACs for access to WPA-PSK network. On the Dell there is no spot for a password and it does not seem to work in the Network Key or Confirm Key boxes.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Open (broadcast your SSID) your network and see if that makes a difference.
Often (especially in crowded airwaves) a closed network can cause connection issues for some adapters.

  • Best practice for home setup/Roaming with built-in Dell wireless card?

I have a client with a huge house; I have done a site survey and it will require 3 APs to blanket the entire thing. I am wonderig what the best way to set this up for him would be? He would like to be able to walk around with the house and not lose connectivity. He is attempting to use his built-in Dell wireless card/client. As far as I know, these do not support Cisco roaming. What I have done is setup 3 diffrent SSIDs for each part of the house. Depending on his location he manually connects to the correct AP. Is this the best setup?
I had attempted to set all APs with the same SSIDs but found that the client would not roam and also found it difficult to connect to any of the APs at all. I believe the card was getting confused since there was overlap of the same SSID.

If he has a huge house, I don't think his laptop would be that old and also, the Dell's use the Intel wifi cards. Having all 3 ap's setup for the same SSID is what you should do and don't know why you are having so many issues. I would assume the ap's are on channel 1, 6, and 11 and how is the power setting? Do all these ap's run back to the same switch?

    Rats.
I hope the replacement card fixes the problem.  Over the years I have had just one bad network card -- and it drove me nuts tracking down that it was, indeed, a failed card.
Good Luck - post back if you like and let us know the results!

  • Unable to connect to Office Wireless Network (802.1x) after Windows Update

Hi, my notebooks are on Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit. We have only recently started Windows Updates.
We are on a Wireless network 802.1x.
In the past, we are able to do the following steps :
    1. Open the "connections are available" window by clicking on the wireless icon (signal bars with yellow sun)
    2. Right click on the desired network and choose properties
    3. Change settings (eg. MEAP or use local Windows credentials etc)
    4. Click connect to connect
Now, from the "connections are available" window, when we right click on the desired Network, only "connect" is shown.
In this case, I cannot connect to the network as the settings are wrong, if I cannot connect to the network how do I change the settings ?
    Please kindly advise

    Hi,
    I agree with britishdhez.
In addition, I would like to confirm which update caused this issue. Is it a driver update? I suggest installing driver update from the manufacturer's website.
You can also reinstall the wireless driver:
    a. Click Start, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Search bar and press Enter.
    b. Expand "Network adaptor".
    c. Right click on your network card and then click Uninstall
    d. Remove the driver software at the same time.
After that, restart the computer and reinstall the network card driver.
Meanwhile, you may run the Network troubleshooter to see if it can help diagnose and solve your problem:
Using the Network troubleshooter in Windows 7
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-sg/windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-windows-7
Also, please remove the wireless network profile for a test.
    Delete a profile
    At the command prompt ( Win+ R-->CMD ), type:
    netsh wlan delete profile name="ProfileName"
For you reference: Netsh Commands for Wireless Local Area Network (wlan)

    Hope it helps.

  • Windows 7 not recognizing device - Dell Wireless 5620 EVDO HSPA Mobile Broadband Mini Card

Windows 7 is not recognizing my Dell Wireless 5620 EVDO HSPA Mobile Broadband Mini Card (Qualcomm Gobi 2000).  I can't even uninstall the driver, it says that I don't have "sufficient permission" to stop device or something to that effect
(though I'm an administrator).  I also can't re-install the same or different driver.  I might have installed the wrong driver, though this is supposed to be the correct one according to Dell after typing in my service tag.  I went to the FTP
to get one specifically for "Verizon Wireless", but I can't uninstall the prior driver.
How can I fix these issues?  Thanks.

    Hi,
    Any update?
Have you tried safe mode mentioned in the first reply? What is the status of the driver in device manager? For "Verizon Wireless", have you installed any verizon software or related verizon device? Uninstall this kind software, then uninstll driver again
    as a test.
Contact this support, maybe they can give some different ideas.
