why you want to load full and delta for same master data object?
you can achieve this but make sure that you select repair full option for full load IP.
you have this option in scheduler in menu bar

Export and import change document for user master data

Dear Gurus,
I have two queries on change document for user master data:
1. Are there any approaches to export and import change document for user master data?
We often do system copy from PRD to QAS for UAT and troubleshooting. Before system copy we export the user master data from QAS and then import after the copy process. We would like to keep the change document for user master data on QAS from being refreshed from PRD for security reason.
2. Change document for Role change in QAS
When the role is created or modified in DEV and then transported to QAS, the role change document doen't include this change log. The role change document in QAS only records those role changes directly made in QAS.
Could you advise this is by SAP design or are there any approaches to record this transported role change in the role change document in QAS?

1. Perhaps you want to consider a system copy to a "virtual system" for UAT?
2. Changes in QAS (as with PROD as well) will give you the delta. They should ideally be clean... You need to check the source system.
Another option is to generate the profiles in the target system. But for that your config has to be sqeaky clean and in sync, including very well maintained and sync'ed Su24 data.

Delta and Full Load question for cube and ODS

Hi all,
I need to push full load from Delta ODS.
I have process chain.... in which the steps are like below,
1. R/3 extractor for ODS1 (delta)
2. ODS1 to ODS2 (delta)
3. ODS2 to Cube ---> needs to be full load
Now when i run process chain by further processing automatically ODS2 does init/delta for Cube.
How can i make it possible for full load ??
can any one guide anything in this ?

Hi,
1. R/3 extractor for ODS1 (delta) : This is OK, normally you can put the Delta InfoPack in Process Chian
2. ODS1 to ODS2 (delta): It automatically flow from ODS1 to ODS2 (you need to select Update Data automaticall in the Targets at the time of ODS creation)
3. ODS2 to Cube ---> needs to be full load :
This you create a Update rules from ODS1 to Cube then Create InfoPackage in between ODS2 and Cube then do full loads. You can delete the data in the CUbe before the load ann dthen do Full load to Cube.
Note: In ODS2 don't select Upadate Data autmaticlly to Data Targets

Delta and full uploads in the same data target?????

I have found that delta load and full update from different infopackages are getting loaded into the same data target that is ODS object. when do we go for such situation, can any one explain me in detail or give me some documents to know more about it.

You have not clearly mentioned that those infopackages are ctrated on the same Datasource or not.
This way of uploading is very common when we need to upload some data from R/3 and some other data from Flat file into the Info cube. And GenerallyFlat file data would not be given in Before image and after image way, thats why we need to do full uplaod. The deleetion of already uploaded flat file data fromt he cube (before new upload from flat file ) depends up on whether the data to be uploaded from flat file system is always new data or not. And generally R/3 Extractor is capable of giving deltas, thats why only delta loads to the cube.

Error in Process Chain while loading Master data text?

Having a Process chain and having 5 infopackages(Master data Attri & text)with FULL LOAD with an processing options as PSA and Infobject.In this one of the infopackage failed and the status is in red colour,and when I right clicked there is no <b>repeat</b> option?Now <b>how to run this process</b>?
Heard that v can restart the process in debug screen?can anyone let me know how to do this?

Hi dear,
you don't find the repeat option because this is a full load...I think you can easily restart the entire PC (or loading directly the failed infopackage from RSA1), because full loads for master data don't cause any data duplication !

Failure of Process Chain while loading master data.

Hi Guys
We are using BI 7.0, we have a chain which loads the data to several master data objects having a Write Optimized DSO in between those.
The steps of the chain is like this when new/delta loads are started loadin first it deletes the all existing WO DSO requestes. starting it was running nice but, now it showing error as follow

Process chain Upload of Master Data

I have to create process chains to load the Master data and text.
lets say i have Cost Center master data to be loaded through process chain.
And this CC has 3 Attributes like Org ,Profit Center..
So have i got to do the process chain in sucha way that
I have to load the Org, Profit Center master data and its text first and then set the process chain to load the Cost Center if the above are successful ???

GG,
The loading of master data (attributes) for Org, PC and any other attributes is recommended before loading the cost center data, but not required.
The only thing that could happen is the system has to do extra work in creating master data entries that don't yet exist, on smaller master data loads like cost center, it won't make much of a difference, but master data like 0MAT_PLANT, and not loading 0MATERIAL prior, could take longer.
Texts can be loaded at any time, texts don't slow down system performance and are not required for master data creation.

Character " within record AND as escape sign for FF master data

I have a flat file for attributes for master data. A field for address contains the character ( " ) This is also the escape character for the CSV file. In BI 7, when loading into the PSA, the load aborts because it is trying to split the file in the middle of the record. The 3.5 version of BW loads this file without problem. I have the character included as an allowed special character. What can I do to make BI 7 load the record? Am I missing a setting?

you can change the operator to some other sign , available at extraction tab of infopackage. make data format to " Seperated with seperator ( for example CSV )" and then change data seperator to some other isgn. I genrally use , .
Make sure while saving the file you save it as csv , comma delimited.

hello I have one scenario...Can anyone explain how we can implement it?
I want to load data from R3 into Master Data Attribute in BW/BI..and it should include future delta loading also.....
and I want to use Process Chains for this....how can we do it.?(I have knowledge of loading data from R3 To MD Attribute using Process Chain but without deltas)

If we take the second implementation of PC in your abbove post.....as we included fullload in PC....before delta init.....can it be possible that fullload happens all the time as its in process chain?
yes..........since it is a part of the process chain every time when you will execute the chain.........full upload will also done..............you can do one thing you can copy the chain.......and remove that process......I mean open the chain in Planning view.....in the top where we write tcode......there write Copy...
then the chain will be copied.........remove the start process and the full upload and init upload.........then create a new start process.........look you have to create a new start process.......because you cannot use the same start variant twice..........
whats the use of attrib change run in PCs in general?
Attribute change run is used to activate the master data.......ie to convert the master data from M version to A version..........because upon activation of master data SID will generate...........which is needed to link the master data to transaction data ie dimension table.........in extended star shcema............Also Once active, the data is available in your reports........
Attribute change run also adjust aggregates........
Another thing......This process is just required for Attributes and Hierarchies, not for Text data.

Error in process chain for PCA full load

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to use a process chain in order to delete a previous full load of plan data in a cube prior to the new load (to avoid double records). The successor job in the process chain is loading a delta of actual data into the same cube (same info source).
When executing the process chain (and the included info package (full load)), the setting "Automatic loading of similar/identical requests from info cube" in the info package is not working (I have ticked "full or init, data-/infosource are the same")...
I have checked that the function itself works as I have executed the info package manually with success. So the problem is the chain somehow.
In the chain I just execute the info package as usual... so to my understanding, it should work the same way as if I executed it manually. Or am I wrong? Is some additional setting required in the chain in order to make it work?
Any ideas?

Hi Fredrik,
not all settings in infopackages work in chains in the same way they do while running the package manually. Mostly you can check that with pressing F1 on the setting. In your case, you need to add a process type for deleting the data to the chain. In your chain maintenance, look at process types and then in load processes .... There you will find the type you need.

You can Include both Full and Delta in the Process Chain. But make sure that you execute the Init InfoPackage manually before executing the delta InfoPackage in the Process Chain.
For Full Load Process chain, add the infopackage
>DTP for Full Load---->delete PSA data variant(after 2days) -
>attribute change run
Normally load the hierarchy first then the attribute and text.

Hi,
This message means there may be a load triggered by the same infopackage that may be still running or may be still having yellow status. Go to the monitor screen from this IP itself and it will show the paricular request (it will be the latest one). See if that load is active and running. If its active try to find out if load is happening, if its happening you may let it progress. If its not active you need to force the status to red and delete from the target. Once this is done you can retrigger the load. If its a datamart load you may need to reset the data mart status before the triggering the load.

How to create Process chain for Aggregate for Master data

Hello friends,
I created Aggregates on Navigational Attributes.
Now they are working fine, but i need to know that how shall i create the Roll up for Aggregates on Navigational Attributes.
The point is the master data changes frequently a lot of time for e.g. for 0customer etc.....
So if any one can send me the step by step documents so as to know how to roll up the Aggregates for Navigation attributes or for aggregates created on Master data....
How to create process chains for the same ?????????
Because if master data changes, then rolling up the aggregates straight forward will not help.
So we need to write a process chain so that it deactivates the aggregate and reactivate again and fill up again..........
If i mis interpreted something please rectify it.......

the changerun that you have to schedule in order to activate the master data will adjust the aggregates automatically. There is no need to deactivate them after master data loads.
