Dep. run restart error

we have run depreciation run for asset 100020(useful live 3 years) for June. in July.10, we change asset useful live to 5 years,
now we run AFAB for June and choose restart run, however, the output list is empty.
we also try repeat run, but still no result, we have choose test run and list assets, output list only
how can we re-run for June? thanks

Hi,
why restart? Restart is used the program is terminated during a posting run for various reasons, then the program has to be started again in the restart mode to clear the data base of possible inconsistencies. In TABA-XBUKZ = 1, a restart is necessarry.
Can you see in AW01N plaed depreciation that should be posted per AFAB?
If no, you have to check the depr. calculation and depr. key on the asset.
If you have planed depr. you have to make a normal depreciation run in the following period, or a repead run for the previous period.

Error in dep run - Asset under construction

Hi!
Could someone please help me with the following:
My customer has a large amount of assets under construction (AuC) and also other assets. None of the assets under consctruction should have a depreciation key (or depreciation key 0000) and no depreciation accounts are allocated in transaction AO93 for AuC . But my customer now has incorrectly created a few AuC (that should NOT be depreciated at all) with depreciation key LINK. What happened?
1) Test run depreciation (AFAB) for all assets in period 1 during 2010. In test run no error log was created, everything looked fine.
2) Executed depreciation in background.
3) When looking at each of the assets in transaction AW01N I can see that all assets (both real assets and AuC with depreciation key) has depreciation posted in period 1. BUT, no depreciation has been posted in general ledger on any of the asset classes!
4) I have now changed the depreciation key on all AUC in AS02 to 0000 so that no depreciation will be calculated.
5) Trying to run AFAB again for period 2 but error message says that period 1 was terminated and that period 1 should be restarted.
6) Trying to run period 1 again in AFAB with restart but error message says "Account 'Acc.dep. accnt.for ordinary depreciation' could not be found for area 01" and refering to all of the incorrect AuC that I have corrected (to no depreciation key)
Please how can I go on? I want to reverse the depreciation in period 1 since I didn't get any posting i the general ledger. And then I want to make a new depreciation run only with correct assets (only depreciation on real assets, not on AuC).
Please help!

Hi,
I had the similar situation couple of months back. I followed below mentioned process and it worked out well.
1) Maintain GL account for depreciation in AO90
2) restart depreciation run for the relevant period
3) change the depreciation key to 0000
4) repeat depreciation run for the same period (It will post a reverse entry in the same month itself. So the net impact of depreciation in the same month is zero).
By the way I have a suggestion to prevent this issue in future.
You may not be able to detect this issue on test run if you execute on foreground mode because the test run execution is restricted to 1000 assets. If the error is on 1001th asset, you will not know.
Hence, always execute depreciation test run on background mode, check for any errors and execute production run only if there are no errors.

Cany any one suggest me to solve my issue with teh depreciation run.
When i am running depreciation run for the period 001-2008 (Apr-2008) to CC ABCD, system is giving the follwing error.
According to posting cycle, you should post period 002 next

You cannot post depreciation in the period specified, as this will miss out a posting period.

According to the posting cycle, you should post period 002 next. Either enter period 002, which corresponds to the posting cycle, or request an unplanned posting run explicitly for this parameter.
Since i have not ran any depreciation run for the above said period and company code. i checked report S_P99_41000192 - Posted Depreciation also for values posted for the 001 period and found no postings for the period.
I have done the same dep run for the same CC in quality system it is giving test tun successfully completed, thwn why it is showing like this in production system.
Your immidiate action in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Thanks for your quick reply.
But my asset transfer date is set as 31.03.2008 for all the comp codes, and we ran the depreciation run for the other comp codes and going well.
Only for 2 company codes it is saying the error as specified in my previous threat.
I have checked OAYR setting also for the 2 Comp codes.
And if run the report RAHAFA_ALV01 with reporting date 30.04.2008 for the above said company codes and iam getting planned depreciation values for the 001-2008 (Apr2008). but if i run the AFAB i am getting the above said error.
And if i run the dep run for period 002-2008, i am able to see the line items and it is saying test run completed successfully.
And one more thing is we have capitalised assets also for the above 2 company codes on 01.04.2008, Then it should calculate the dep for 001-2008 period also---right?
Please clarify.....Since it is an important issue as of now.

"Bridge is running low on memory and should be restarted" error

I am running Bridge CS4 on a DELL T-1650 with plenty of hard drive space. I am having trouble with indexing / caching files. My computer is connected to a large office server with a large amount of files that I need to be able to search. I recieve a "Bridge is running low on memory and should be restarted" error each time I attempt to index the files on the server drive. I have tried Purge and Cache, set the cache memory slider to max. This is a very large amount of files (TB ) to index /cache. I leave the computer running overnight to allow ample time, I nothing on my TB hard drive , and have 16GB of available RAM. Any ideas?

when i am running the dep. The depreciation is not calucluated correctly in Asset a class for Prior Year Assets

No issue go to AFAB select the repeat Run Radio button and execute the Dep run in Background all the previously posted depreciation documents if posted with errors will get reversed and new documents will get posted.

Depreciation posting is performed in several steps and at each step the system logs the current status. If the program is terminated during a posting run for various reasons, then the program has to be started again in the restart mode to clear the data base of possible inconsistencies.
A restart run should therefore only be performed in certain cases and cannot be started in a test mode.

Hi Deepak,
Repeat run is used to post the depreiciation for assets in a period, for which the planned depreciation has been posted.
Ex: You have run the dep for 01-2010, then in the same period you might have added some more assets and need to be posted depreciation for the same period again. In this case repeat run would be useful.
Note: this repeat run can be done for the last posted period only.
Restart option is to continue the depreciation posting run from a last dep run, which is stopped due to some errors casused at the system level.

Has anyone else run across Error 213.23 or cpsid_83578?

Hi All,
I have a Master Suite CS5 installation problem on Windows 7 64 bit - Have exhausted first layer of tech service. The 3 tech service persons do not have a solution for the errors shown below. Next layer of tech service will call back. It has been 2 days…
I can install all programs except for AE, AF, and FL. Although I can install the other programs I cannot open any of the classical programs such as PS, AI, DW, etc. When I try, I get the following messages:
“A problem has occurred with the licensing of this product. Restart your computer and re-launch the product. If this problem still occurs after restarting, contact Customer Support for further assistance, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen - Error 213.23”
Ran AdobeSupportAdvisor – the following errors came up “licensing program cpsid_83578 launch and serial # language do not match CS5”.
Has anyone else run across Error 213.23 or cpsid_83578?

I've just purchase PS CS5, and run into the same problem and error message when I install it (Windows 7 /64bit). Tried to install it from the Administrator account and then it works, but when I log on to any other account CS5 is not available/working.

Run-time error "PXA_NO_SHARED_MEMORY" occurred

My production system is running fine. And when i check SM21 I saw a lot of error message Run-time error "PXA_NO_SHARED_MEMORY" occurred and Run-time error "SYSTEM_NO_ROLL" occurred. Hi,
I hope 440000 will not the cause,
this might occur due to many reasons,
1. make sure you have all the components(Applications,OSlevel,DBlevel) are at same level in entire the landscape.
2. you can observe the evenlogs at OSlevel to get the error information pointing to. Also check for the dumps/logs(work direcotry).
3. if not, can open SAP message.

I can work with this editor anyway after choosing the project. But I still have a problem because the preview will not change when I choose a different UI element. The preview alway shows the text "welcome to the SAP ThemeEditor!". When I modify style parameters for the UI element Text the preview is modified in the right way. I already set the Internet Options for the Internet Explorer as suggested. Is it possible that the reported run time error is the reason for the preview problems? The external preview works fine.

You cannot post depreciation in the period specified, as this will miss out a posting period.

According to the posting cycle, you should post period 001 next. Either enter period 001, which corresponds to the posting cycle, or request an unplanned posting run explicitly for this parameter.

Hi JK,
the message in the depreciation run provides the solution already. You shall execute an unplanned depreciation run if you need to post period 5 as next period. The regular procedure would be to post a planned run for period 1, then a planned for period 2 and so on until period 5 is the next period to be posted.
But as you have the option "unplanned" depreciation run on the selection screen you sould use this function and skip the processing of periods 1 through 4.

SAP PI Message Cancellation Alert - Message does not have restartable error status

Version: 7.1
Scenario: File --> PI -->SOAP
We have a situation where a PI message in Integration Engine shows error status.We want to cancel the message in IE but are unable to do so.
On clicking Cancel for this message in SXMB_MONI, we are receiving an alert "Message does not have restartable error status".
In SXMSPMAST table, value for ITFACTION is DEL.
We do not want to run report RSXMB_DEL_TO_ARCH, that would change status of all messages with DEL status to ARCH.
Is there a way to Cancel or Change the Status of this single message?

Tried that too, but to no avail.
Strangely, the log shows NO_ERROR_STATE for the cancelation of this message thru RSXMB_CANCEL_MESSAGES.
But in SXMSPMAST table the status of this message is 14 (System Error - Manual Restart Possible).

After restart error message appears:

• All print commands are greyed out and unavailable — even to call up the printer commands cannot be done.
The printer printed fine until about 2 weeks ago when this error message appeared. Printing continues from Pages, I-photo, preview etc. — only Photoshop fails.
The printer has been turned on and off, as have open documents been closed and open etc.. Preferences reset. Repeatedly I have read through blogs and forums and attempted to contact Adobe — all without results
Epson support struggled to find reason and several solutions were tried and they assume this is an Adobe problem.

Run time error QA32 of QM

We are geting following run time error when executeing QA32 t-code of QM , error as follows ,
Error analysis
After a specific time, the program is terminated to make the work area
available to other users who may be waiting.
This is to prevent a work area being blocked unnecessarily long by, for
example:
- Endless loops (DO, WHILE, ...),
- Database accesses with a large result set
- Database accesses without a suitable index (full table scan)
The maximum runtime of a program is limited by the system profile
parameter "rdisp/max_wprun_time". The current setting is 600 seconds. If this
time limit is
exceeded, the system attempts to cancel any running SQL statement or
signals the ABAP processor to stop the running program. Then the system
waits another 60 seconds maximum. If the program is then still active,
the work process is restarted.
How to correct the error
Programs with long runtime should generally be started as background
jobs. If this is not possible, you can increase the system profile
parameter "rdisp/max_wprun_time".
Depending on the cause of the error, you may have to take one of the
following measures:
- Endless loop: Correct program;
- Dataset resulting from database access is too large:
Instead of "SELECT * ... ENDSELECT", use "SELECT * INTO internal table
(for example);
- Database has unsuitable index: Check index generation.
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.

Not at all. I think it should work for atleast one month period.
But sometimes depending on the database size and hardware, this criteria can vary.

Run time error running Vision Builder AI inspection from TestStand

Hello,
I have TestStand 3.1 and Vision Builder for AI v2.6.1.
I would like to run from TestStand a Vision Builder Program or steps. For to achieve that, I have followed the instructions on Application Note 215, Running a Vision Builder AI Inspection from TestStand.
After installation, the option in TestStand InsertStep>NI Vision Builder AI>Inspection works properly.
But when try to execute a step with that inspection, and whatever operation of that one, the result is the following error:
Run-Time Error
Details: Error executing substep 'Post'.
An error occurred calling 'ExecuteStep' in '_NIVBAITestStandSteps' of 'NIVBAITestStandAPI'.
Error Code: -2147417851; User defined code. Possible System Error: The server sent an exception.
At this point really I don´t know what to do, and I don't find any extra help apart of application note.
I will appreciate some suggestion.

I've found some more information that may help. Since these TestStand steps are simply call a DLL with an exported ActiveX API, path issues may exist. In fact, the overwhelming number of times this error appears, paths seems to be the case. I am not sure why the error is an indication of a path issue, but that seems to be the case. I would recommend that you would reregister the DLL, this time in the same directory as the example sequence. To do this:
- Unregister the current DLL by going to Start Menu>>Run, and typing: regsvr32 /u NIVBAITestStandAPI.dll
- Move the DLL from the system32 folder to the folder in which the example sequence is saved.
- Reregister the DLL from the run command (regsvr32 <folder path>\NIVBAITestStandAPI.dll)
- Restart TestStand if it is open
I apologize for not having any concrete answers, but this one is proving tough without me being able to replicate the issue.

There are A and B excel files.
And two different POV-dimension in two excel files

There is not any attribute dimension in pov A excel file.
There is one attribute dimension in pov B excel file.
The same VBA code excute is normal in A excel file.
But the same VBA code excute is "run-time error '13': Type mismatch " in B excel file.
The error '13' in the row of MsgBox (vtPOVNames(6)).
Is attribute dimension in pov cause this question?
And how did I solve this question?

Based on where the error is occurring, it looks like the value returned by vtPOVNames(6) is not defaulting to a string datatype for the msgbox.
Try 'cstr(vtPOVNames(6))' to force conversion of the value into a string. Also, you may want to test for nulls using IsNull() and empty variant values using IsEmpty().
It doesn't look like the code you posted shows vtPOVNames being populated. If you're populating the names yourself, you could always use a string array instead of a variant array. Just dim the string array using a statement such as, "Dim strPOVNames(6) as String" or "Dim strPOVNames() as String" in case you need to ReDim the array later to size it for a non-fixed set of POV names.
