Deploy EJBs in cluster environment

          I have cluster environment using three levels of weblogic.properties files (global/per cluster/per server). When I put all EJBs into per server properties file in all servers in cluster, I got conflictHandler message for some of the EJBs when bring up the second server in the cluster.
          1. Where the ejb should go (set in weblogic.ejb.deploy property)?
          2. Can I move those conflicted EJBs per cluster or golbal weblogic.properties file to resolve the conflict problem?
          3. If there are weblogic.ejb.deploy entries in both per-cluster properties file and per server cluster properties file, do the setting in per-cluster be overwritten by the one in per-server?
          Thanks in advance.

          Just found out that those beans have been explicitly disable home-is-clusterable. Thanks for all of your help.

  • Best practice: Deployment plan for cluster environment

    Hi All,
    I want to know, which way is the best practice for preparing and deploying new configuration for WLS-cluster environment. How can I plan a simultan deployment of ALL of nodes, with out single point of failure?
    Regards,
    Moh

    Hi All,
    I get the Answer as followed:
    When you deploy an application OR redeploy an application, the deployment is initiated from the Admin Server and it it initiated on all targets (managed servers in the cluster) at the same time based on targets (which is expected to be cluster).
    We recommend that applications should be targeted to a cluster instead of individual servers whenever a cluster configuration is available.
    So, as long as you target the application to the cluster, the admin server will initiate the deployment on all the servers in a cluster at the same type, so application is in sync on all servers.
    Hope that answers your queries. If not, please let me know what exactly you mean by synchronization.

  • Deploying oracle SOA on cluster environment ?

    Hi can anyone provide me links or information about deploying SOA on cluster environment. We are not even sure whether SOA can be deployed in a cluster environment.Kindly help

  • Deploying Java Web Application (WAR-File) into a cluster environment

    Hi,
    we have a web application which has to read from and write to the file system.
    Since a short time we have a cluster environment (2 parallel servers) and since thisa time we have the problem, that files are worked double in the cluster. The application is working on both servers now and so we have this problem.
    Does anybody know how we have to deploy the application correctly in a cluster environment or do we have to change anything in our source code of the application?
    I didn't find any documentation about this.
    At the moment we have deployed the application on one of the two servers only, but I think there must be a better way to solve this problem.
    Thanks for your replies.

    Hi,
    I think first you need to wrap it into an EAR file, then you can deploy it.
    As far as I know standalone deployment of WAR is deprecated as of 640.

  • How to deploy ejb in an Enterprise Environment using the jbuilder plugin

    Hello:
    I use Oracle9iAS Plug-in Release 2 (9.0.2) for Borland JBuilder 7 to deploy my ejb. But now, i would like to deploy my ejb to oc4j in an Enterprise Environment (not as standalone).
    Does anybody know how can i do it? I noted that the plugin use admin.jar to deploy ejb, and I suppose it need to use dcmctl.
    Thank you
    Sergio

    Sergio,
    The current release of Borland JBuilder only allows you to deploy to standalone OC4J. If you want to deploy to Oracle9iAS (Enterprise OC4J), please try Oracle9i JDeveloper 9.0.3:
    http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/jdev/content.html
    JDeveloper 9.0.3 uses DCM to deploy to Oracle9iAS

  • Error when deploy to weblogic cluster

    My cluster has 2 servers A, B. when I deploy an WebCenter Custom Portal application to weblogic cluster, application on server A work well and application on server B is failed. Log on failed server is “what do i do: seems an odd quirk of the EJB spec. The exception is:java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Oracle/jdeveloper/db/adapter/DatabaseProvider”
    When I reconfig cluster and then deploy, application on server B work well but application on server A is failed.
    Please advise what should I do in this situation?

    Hi,
    It seems your Application is running with non-seralizable objects where non-searlizable are not supported on cluster environment.
    Please check server logs whether you have such warning messages are not.
    Let me know if you need any further help on this issue.

  • Using Optimistic Concurrency in a cluster environment

    Hi,
    In weblogic 8.1 sp3 cluster environment, I deployed CMP Entity Beans with the following settings:
    In weblogic-ejb-jar.xml:
    <entity-cache>
    <concurrency-strategy>OptimistÂic</concurrency-strategy>
    <cache-between-transactions>trÂue</cache-between-transactionsÂ>
    </entity-cache>
    In weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml:
    <verify-columns>Version</verifÂy-columns>
    <optimistic-column>VERSION</opÂtimistic-column>
    And I deployed the CMP Entity beans into a cluster which has two managed servers.
    When I only do findByPrimaryKey, on both managed servers, the cache-between-transaction functions well and only call ejbLoad() when it first loads that Entity Bean Instance.
    However, If I do any updates to this bean, the performance change. After the updates, I issued a lot findByPrimaryKey calls for this bean to test. If the call reach the managed server where the update for the
    bean happens, it is fine and still perform like cache-between-transaction. But if the call reach other managed servers, the ejbLoad() get called for that bean in every transactions; and cache-between-transaction seems to be disabled on the other managed servers since the updates.
    I test this senario a lot of times and the problem is very consistant. According to my understanding, the other managed servers should only do ejbLoad() at the first time after the updates happened, and the transactions after that shouldn't call ejbLoad everytime.
    Does anyone encounter the same problem like this? And is there anyway to optimize it?
    Thanks!!

    Did you figure out how to do this? We ended up having to track the number of sessions using the service and close it only when there were none. However, this did not solve the problem completely. There seems to be a conflict when running our servlet app (which uses PAPI) on different machines talking to the same BPM. A thread on one machine opens, uses, closes a session and service while a thread on another machine opens a session and in the middle of using it, it dies.

    This may happen because javac is not available to weblogic.
    Make sure that PATH environment variable used to start the server includes path to Java SDK bin dir with javac in it.

  • SecurityException when deploying to a cluster.Please help !

    Hi Guys,
              I am running a clustering scenario wherein i have an administration server and 2 managed servers(this forms the cluster). Admin server and 1 managed server is in one machine and the second managed server is in another machine.Node Manager is configured in both the machines.
              I am able to get a successful application deployment when i choose to deploy it partially to either of the manged servers in the cluster.But when i choose to deploy the application to the whole cluster i always get the following exception indicating that the run-as principal 'ProcessInjectorMessageBeanUser' is not a member of the current security realm.However, in the secuity realm that this domain is using,i can see this user listed in the Administration console.Any idea what could be wrong ?
              As i am beginner in weblogic clustering, Any help will be really appreciated.

    Can you post the config.xml from both boxes ?
              I think there may some mismatch in the Advanced Security Credentials on both domains.

  • How to display XML generated dynamically, as TREE in cluster environment

    hai guys,
    we are generating a tree.xml file in server side as follows.
    path = getServletConfig().getServletContext().getRealPath("/QBE/jsp/tree.xml");
    BufferedWriter out1 = new BufferedWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(new FileOutputStream(path),"UTF8"));
    out1.write(xmlString + "</tree>");
    out1.close();
    "xmlString" holds the data in xml tag format.
    in order to display the xml file in TREE structure, we are using a function like
    function createTree()
         var tree = new WebFXLoadTree("SMQ/AMQ List", "tree.xml");
         document.write(tree);
    ALL THIS MECHANISM IS WORKING FINE IN DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT ANS AS WELL AS WHEN WE DEPLOY THE RELEASE IN LOCAL MACHINE. BUT IT IS NOT WORKING WHEN THE RELEASE IS DEPLOYED IN CLUSTER ENVIRONMENT.
    Please help me out how to solve this...
    thanks in advance,
    Ranga

    Hey if you want any more information regarding this problem, i can provide.

  • Problem in deploying EJBs (More than 390) in weblogic-BEA says JDK issue!!!

    Our application had 390 EJBs before the current build. It was running fine on Weblogic 6.1-SP4 with JDK 1.3.1_08.
    In the current build, 3 EJBs were introduced and the Weblogic server started giving deployment problems. We then came across the Weblogic Bug stating the magic Number of 390 and delegating it to a SUN Bug. But, contrary to the SUN bug which says of a OutofMemory issue, we were not getting any OutOfMemory error.
    Then, just to test the 390 number, we cut downed on the number of EJBs reducing the number to 388, in a test environment. EJBs got deployed without problem. Then we added 3 EJBs (increasing the EJB count to 391), and Weblogic server started giving Deployment problem in a EJB which was one of the 388 that were running fine earlier.But, now also there was no OutOfMemory error. Then we removed one of the newly added EJBs to bring the EJB count to 390. The Weblogic deployed the EJBs without error(even the one which was giving problem when EJB count was 391).
    So, 390 seems to be the number but, contrary to BEA problem ID: 035884 which delegates the problem to SUN Bug ID:4390238 (Incidentally SUN has closed this bug as Non-reproducable), we are not getting any OutOfMemory error.
    My questions to the JAVA community are:
    1)Is the problem really related to JDK or Weblogic?
    2)If it's a problem with JDK, then what should be done to fix it?

    So, 390 seems to be the number but, contrary to BEA
    problem ID: 035884 which delegates the problem to SUN
    Bug ID:4390238 (Incidentally SUN has closed this bug
    as Non-reproducable), we are not getting any
    OutOfMemory error.Did you check the server logs? There might be an OutOfMemoryError logged.
    My questions to the JAVA community are:
    1)Is the problem really related to JDK or Weblogic?Apparently, the problem is with the Weblogic. Did you try deploying the same number on some higher version of Weblogic? (7.0 for instance)
    2)If it's a problem with JDK, then what should be
    done to fix it?Check the bug database for the same bug id. There is a workaround posted. The evaluation comments are also hinting at using the suggested VM options.

  • JNDI Exception on re-deployment to a cluster

    I'm getting an error that I have not seen in the newsgroups so far. It
              happens when I deploy what I believe to be a properly configured clusterable
              application (.ear file) to my cluster.
              Here's my setup:
              WebLogic 6.0 sp1, three instances across 2 machines. The admin server (wl1)
              is running on Stimpy (win2kAS) on 10.10.10.21 (it is not part of the
              cluster). The 1st managed server (app1) is also on Stimpy bound to
              10.10.10.22 (a virtual IP). The second managed server (app3) is on Ren
              (also win2kAS) at 10.10.10.23. Auto-deploy is off. I am using the console
              to deploy the app. (I turned auto-deploy off because the app was getting
              deployed to the admin server automatically and throwing an error because of
              the clustered HTTP session state)
              Here's what happens.
              I start up all of the instances with no apps deployed. Everything appears
              to be running fine. No errors. I then use the console to deploy my
              application (sample1.0.ear). I select only the cluster as the target for
              the EJB and the webapp. If I try to access the app at this point I just get
              404's. I then restart all of the servers and the app gets deployed across
              the cluster with no errors. I can access everything JSPs, servlets, and an
              EJB without issue.
              My problem comes when I try to re-deploy the application. I have tried this
              using the console, and by copying the new .ear file to the applications
              directory on the admin server. I always get the same error, and it only
              shows up on "app1" the first managed server in the cluster. Below is the
              output form the log:

              Here's a question. Why am I seeing "weblogic.ejb20.EJBDeploymentException"?
              As far as I know, I have not installed the EJB2.0 container. Does this get
              installed by default with sp1? Also, I quite sure that my deployment
              descriptors are correct. Here's my weblogic-ejb-jar.xml for the HelloWorld
              EJB:

              Who needs clustering anyway, damn it?! (Well...I do) Any one know what's
              going on here?

    Thanks

    Hi Radhika,
    I'm guessing (if it's not a typo) that you need to change your directory
    name. You should create the following directory:
    employee\META-INF
    (Yes, case is important :-)
    And you should use that directory, instead of "employee\meta-inf".
    Hope this helps you!
    Good Luck,
    Avi.
