Depreciation planned calculater not as remaining life balance

Hi SAP Expert,
Currently, i have an issue on depreciation planned calculate divided by 12 month instead of 2 month remaining life balance.
Asset Parameters
Useful Life: 3 / 0
Expired Useful Life: 2 / 10
Remaining Life: 0 / 2
Net book value balance is 59,907 and scarp value is 1. So depreciation will divided by 59,906.
Now i see the depreciation posted/planned is every month 4,992.17 for 12 months.
As the asset just left two month life, isn't that depreciation posted/planned will be 29,953 for 2 months?
I am suspect configure on depreciation key.
Please advice where to configure calculate depreciation base on remaining life?
Thanks

  • Depreciation planned but not posted.

    Hi all,
    There is the following case.
In asset explorer there is planned depreciation which is not posted for prior year. I want to erase this planned depreciation (is incorrect) in prior year without affecting G/L. Could you please advise?
If this is to be made with ABSO and specific transaction type, could you please tell me setup of the transaction type?
    Best Regards,
    Kyriakos

    Dear Kyriakos,
is this prior year closed in FI-AA already? If so, how were you able to close this fiscal year? This should be found as error by the fiscal year close report.
If the prior fiscal year is not closed, then you can either change the depreciation key to a non-calculating one (e.g. 0000) or set a shutdown indicator for the complete fiscal year. This should reduce the planned depreciation to zero. No posting or G/L entry is necessary therefor.
If the prior fiscal year should be already closed in FI-AA (still I would be wondering how you did that), you could use the solution provided in [SAP Note 29694|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/29694].
    Hope this helps,

  • Depreciation(Planned & Posted) not coming after AFAB.

Depreciation is not at all coming after AFAB, even for the planned values.  In the Asset GL only acquisition value is getting posted, no depreciation.  I have checked and tried most of the threads related to this in the SAP Forum but still not able to solve this problem.   Please suggest.

    Hi
When you are running AFAB in background, check the spool for error messages in SP02. The most common issues are as:
    1. If you are on new GL, required configuration not maintained in ACSET
    2. No ranges not maintained for Document AF
3.Fiscal Period is closed for Posting

  • Remaining life 3 in general  tab, no of month in depreciation tab is 4mos

    Hi Experts,
Iu2019m trying to upload the data below. After uploading the Monthly depreciation should have been 328.33 in 3 mos.
When I check the uploaded data the monthly planned depreciation is 246.25 = 4 mos but the remaning life is still 3mos
We are using Net book value divide by remaining life, and the depreciation will start next month after depreciation.
Is there any way to tally the remaining life with the no of planned depreciation?

    Hi,
From your text I can see that you have
    capitalization date: 2005-07-01
    start depreciation date: 2005-06-30
That does not make much sense to me, if the start depreciation is one month after capitalization date
your start depreciation date should be 2005-08-01
If I asume you starst Fiscal years on January and Year for Import is 2010 then:
You will calculate remaining useful life = 7 ( Total useful life 60 - 53 number of months counting from August 2005 until December 2009 included)
You should as well set the deprecited amount for the 53 months which is 17401 aprox, in filed Ordinary Depr 01
The system if you have decided 'monthly basis' will have equal parts for the rest on Net Book Value =2299 (Remaing NBV)/7 months
There are insteresting blogs on the subject : do search for Fixed Assets

  • Manual depreciation and Planned but not posted depreciation forwarded

    HI Expert,
We would like to request for Product Enhancement for Fixed Asset Module due to the inconsistency in the computation for the following:
u2022     The planned and un-posted depreciation is already considered as confirm transaction when they compute for the accumulated depreciation to be forwarded next year (as well as net book value beg for next year)
u2022     But as for the no of months (remaining life) u2013 it will only consider the no of posted months when they compute for remaining life of the asset
The current feature of SAP affecting our enhancement request is as follows
    1) Manual depreciation is currently validates manual depreciation based on Planned depreciation instead of Posted depreciation
    2) Remaining life computation for next year depreciation is based on posted transaction only
    3) When user wants to fully depreciate the asset, we cannot post depreciation based on remaining un-posted depreciation using manual depreciation
Based on this feature we want to request for the following enhancement
    1) For the remaining un-posted depreciation (especially if the previous year is already close), we should be able to choose which month we want to post the un-posted depreciation
    2) Since the remaining life computation is based on posted depreciation only, 1) the validation and 2) the net book value forwarded next year should also be based on posted depreciation
We have a sample computation based on current feature VS the suggested computation for SAP. Is there any way for us to import the file here at the forum? We will wait for your advice

  • Intel SSD Toolbox does not report expected life remaining of SSD drive

I am trying to figure out expected life remaining of my INTEL SSDSA2BW160G3L on my X220T with Intel Core i7-2640M CPU 2.80GHz and 8GM of RAM, running Win7 64bit.  I have been using my X220T for over a year.  It is my only computer, so it has been used continously for a year.
Yesterday I installed the Itel SSD Toolbok 3.1.5 to check my SSD drive.  Although the SMART Details provide me with the raw data, the normalized scores are all 100%.  The expected life remaining shown is 100%, which does not seem to make much sense after a year of use.
I ran the Lenovo Hard Drive Quick Test (http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?&DocID=DS025445).  The SMART seems to be enable and working.
I would like to know if the Intel SSD Toolbox is working properly.

SSDs do not "wear" in the same way that a mechanical drive does. There is nothing abnormal in an SSD showing no effective wear in terms of SMART parameters after a year of typical use.
In terms of determining remaining life, SMART parameters are really only useful for that when a drive (of any sort) is starting to get near the end of its life.
    Cheers,

    Bill,
Are you implying there is no need for garbage collection or wear-leveling after a year or that the SSD and/or OS take care of garbage collection and wear-leveling so the user won't notice the difference after a year?

  • Planned Dep not posted for retired assets

    Hi ,
We are running the asset depreication everymonth end, and it was posting without any errors.
But suddenly we found that some assets which we retired have still not posted the balance depreication and it is still reflecting in Planned Depreication in AW01N for previous months.
Eg: Asset retired on 29th of a month. Depreciation was not posted for this 29 days. and this balance still lies in planned depreication even after the depreciation run.
When i try to do a repeat run it gives an error message,
    depreication for Peirod...... already posted.
As we have already run the depreciation, kindly suggest what best can be done without affecting the depreciation which is posted for other assets which is correct.
    Thanks & Regards
    Sanjay Marathe

    Dear Ramesh,
Thanks for the update, i have got once more important information on this.
The problem lies only in one asset.
When they posted the depreiciation, in the actual run it gave a warning message that
" The posted depreciation and estimated depreciation are different" .  But as the user was not aware regarding the Rerun and he has posted depreciation for subsequent periods.
And now it is not allowing to do a rerun for pervious periods.

  • Wrong depreciation calcualtion when we change useful life of an asset

    Hi,
We change the useful life of an asset during the middle of the year.  The deprecaiton calculation is not effecting correctly for the remaining useful life of an asset.
We are using stright line method of depreciaion. I will appreciate if any post some tips what is wrong .
    Example:
    Current State:
    Acquisition value: 300,000
    Acquisition date: 1/1/08
    Useful life: 3 years
    NBV 12/31/08: 200,000
    NBV 6/30/09: 150,000
New life: 2 years, starting 7/1/2009
    Current methodology:
NBV at 12/31/08 divided by new remaining life as of the beginning of the year (2009) $200,000 / 12 months = $16,667
    Depreciation expense in 7/31/09: $66,669 ([16,667 * 7 months = 116,669] minus depreciation at old method booked for first 6 months of 2009 [200,000/24 = 8,333 * 6 = $50,000]). $116,669 u2013 50,000 = $66,669
Monthly Depreciation expense between 8/31/09-12/31/09: $16,667 / month
    Future State:
    Requested methodology:
NBV at 6/30/09 divided by remaining life as of the date of the change: (150,000/6mos) $25,000
Can any one explain what is the issue

    Hi,
By default, any change in depreciation parameters will recalculate depreciation from the beginning.  If you want to change depreciation terms on different phases, you may need to introduce a depreciation key which changes percentage in multi-level method.

  • How to accelerate the depreciation posting for the desired usefull life

    Hi,
we are having issues in accelerating the depreciation on some assets, we want these assets to depreciated based on the revised usefull life
For example: if the asset CAP date is 01/01/2009 with usefull life 3 years
we change the useful life on assets from 3 years to 2.5 years  (As we want this asset to fully depreciate in May 2011), how can we do with out using ABAA. these assets should be fully depreciated on the desired period as mentioned above.
We don't have smoothing turned on, but system is not calculating correctly, either it is fully depreciating the total amount earlier or later than expected period.
    any help is truely appreciated.
    Thanks
    Smitha

    Hi Ajay,
Thanks a lot for your response!
We just went live in Sept 2010 and our company doesn't want to go for unplanned depreciation option/ transfering the assets,
as in the legacy system they were able to enter the remaining usefull life on the asset and the assets were depreciating as intented.
we have given the above options but they were requesting for some other ideas.
what is the use of expaired usefull life in asset master record, we were changing the expired usefull life but it is not at all effecting the depreciation calculation.
    Please advice
    Thanks

  • AR01 balance is not matching with FAGLL03 balance between the segments

    Dear Consultants
I am facing one problem in Assets Reconciliation. I.e, the balance which is showing in AR01 report is not matching with FAGLL03 report for P & M Assets.
In my client I have two segment . 1000 and 2000.
As per that reports of both AR01 and FAGLL03  effect is  as follows.
    1.     GL value is showing more by Rs.54,13,516.34  with  AR01 in 1000 segment in P &M at
                    31.03.2009
    2.     GL value is showing Less by Rs.54,13,516.34  with AR01 in 2000 segment  in P & M at
                    31.03.2009
After uploading the legacy balances as on 30.06.2008,
1.SAP Segmental Trail Balance has been tallied with Segmental Trial balance as 30.06.2008
2.Except this P & M balances, remaining all assets were tallied between FAGLL03 and
      AR02 segment wise.
3.acquisitions during the year also tallied and Over all at company code level balance from 01.04.2008 to 31.03.2009 also tallied for all Assets including this P &M.
    Cross check points:
1.I have checked the cost center , profit center and segments assignment u2013ok
2.I have tallied Profit center wise AR01 and FAGLL03. except, this P &M
    3. No Manual Entries has been posted
So pls suggest me what could be possible reasons for this
any how. my client maintained the legacy system till 31.03.2009 along with SAP. now as per Oracle we are matching this values. so ,what I am thinking is ,to match the balances in P &M between the segments, Shall I post the JV between these gment? because , as on  31.03.2009 legachy value is matching with AR01 values.
--Only problem between Legacy value and GL Value.
    --Depreciation not yet posted.
--client is ready to pass required adjustement entries after posting the depreciation as on 31.03.2009 to
      match with legacy balance
--So ,I dont think it is not problem  if post the manual entry in Asset GL to match the balance between legacy and Fagll03 report
--Over all Comapny code level plant and Machinery values is tallied with Legachy value
early reply will be very highly appreicated

    Hello,
Run ABST2 to know the difference between GL and Asset Accounting.
Hope you must have reset the reconciliation accounts of assets OAMK and posted all the relevant GL asset balances. Note that initial asset balances loaded in AA will not automatically be transferred to GL. You need to pass the JVs.

  • Need help to calculate capacities of tool life and forecast problems

We want to track the parts and suppliers tools in SAP and calculate the capacities and tool life to forecast upcoming problems. We need to capture this information in PM module and track shelf life and create maintenence  plans  for parts. How can I create maintenence plans for the parts? I am aware of equipment and FLOCs to create maintence plans but not aware of creating maintence plans for parts!. Can somebody provide guidance?

The following is an idea to achieve your requirement on your pre-condition that you can not have Equipment numbers to your Tools
So, the previous reply hints at having Measuring points (Counters)  on the Press with various tools in Measuring Positions. i.e The Press 3000001 will have one Measuring point say 1234 with a characteristic say NoOfTanks pressed where Tool-Id (maintained outside SAP say Tool001) is given in Measuring Position field. Similarly another MPoint on 3000001, say 1235 will have same characteristic, but with Tool002 in MPosition field.. and so on..
You will be creating documents on these MPoints (Counters) as per No of Tanks pressed. So when the Counter reading  of a MDoc of a MPt (say 1235) reaches 10000, you will perform maintenance activity on Tool002.
Here comes the decision of yours to do it (watching for maintenance call) manually or through development. Manually means you will watch IK17 report and upon CntrRdg reaching 10000 you will perform the Maintenance Activity and record the same in the Document text / Longtext (MDTXT field)  of the 10000 TotcntrRdg  document.
    OR
To get this alert (Notification or even Order) triggered by the system, you can use User-Exit IMRC0001, This is the job of your ABAPer.
If some way is suggested by experts, in standard maintenance scheduling itself, then obviously, naturally you should be adopting the same.
    Best of luck

  • Cost Centre Plan data not updating FAGLFLEXT

    Dear Experts,
In our production environment, our cost centre plan is not updating FAGLFLEXT table. Profit centre plan using GP12N is fine.
We are using the New GL and have FIN-CCA and FIN-PCA scenario activated.
Integrated planning is ticked in the planning versions for both Controlling and New GL Plan versions.
Controlling plan version and New GL plan version have the same name.
In table Controlling table COSP, I can see the plan data on business transaction type RKP1.
I expect to see it in FAGLFLEXT with RKP1 but I see no plan values at all.
In fact, in the previous 3 environments, we have not had this problem and cost centre plan and actual has updated FAGLFLEXT. Only in Production...
Any suggestions? Help if you can! Thanks alot,
    Deb

    Dear Ravi,
I don't think this is the problem.
    It seems that:
    - the CC plan was created -> it updated CO tables e.g. COSP -> no update to FAGLFLEXT
    - the CC plan was deleted -> it updated CO tables with negative value -> updated FALFLEXT with negative value
-the CC plan was update again -> it updated CO table -> updated FAGLFLEXT and balance with negative value is zero
    - the CC plan was deleted again -> it updated CO tabe with negative value -> FAGLFLEXT  is in minus value!
It seems like somewhere between first and second steps, the scenario FIN-CCA was not behaving like it was active!
Have you come across this before?
    Thanks!

  • Depreciation planned in FA explore

    Hi ,
I set fixed asset take-over time 31.12.2008 and specify last period post in prv. system 12.2008. But after I used AS91 to create legacy data I found in fixed asset master data the planned depreciation only from period 5 in  2009. I am wondering why there is no depreciation planned for period 1th-4th in 2009.  At the same time I run AFAB with warning"According to posting cycle, you should post period 005 next".
    Thanks.

    Hi,
This you can have when you did more transports, it takes then the value from your last depreciation run from your development system.
The values are stored in the the table T093D. You can have a look to it.
I think you can run the depreciation run for period 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 as repeat run. Then you get the real values in the correct period. An other option is to run in period 5 *** (1 to 5)

  • Remaining leave balance

    Dear All,
My client wants to show Leave Balances in payslip. in SAP where we can get remaining leave balances.
In info type 2006 we can get total entitlement and used leave. But where we can get remaining leaves.
We are using time management status 0 (No time evaluation).
    Please help me on this.
    Venkat

Thank You Saini for Your reply,
we used the same logic and implemented. But My clients requirement is like this.
Opening Balance-used=Remaining, Remaing leaves (Balance leaves) should appear opening balance  for next month.
For ex:= 12 Opening balance-2 used in april= 10 Remaining in April., The same 10 Should be appear as Opening balance in next month Payslip,
Say 10-1= 9 (May, suppose employee has taken one day leave)
9-0=9 (June leave not taken, so 9 need to apper in July as Opening Balance)
Remaining leaves won"t be store anywhere, if i am right. so what we did is, we passed remaining leaves into one ZTABLE. and that value we are picking that value. it is not working 100 percent. the problem is if we do any changes in 2001 info type after 3 payroll runs over, the ZTABLE not getting updated , hence the leaves on current payslip showing wrong values.
    Please help me on this........
Is there any standard table to store the remaing leaves? or can we pass that entries in to time type and through which we need to write to PCR, I mean is there anu chance through PCR........?Any suggesitions...!!!!We are using TMSTA=0.
