Filtering R/3 Material Groups and Material Types

Hi,
I am trying to filter the Material groups and material types during master data upload from R/3 to SRM 4.0
I am tried doing the following:
1. In Txn R2AR2, i set up the request for DNL_CUST_PROD1 for MARA-MATKL(Material Group) & MARA-MTART(Material Type)and then run the Txn R3AR4 with DNL_CUST_PROD1. The replication was successful, but it pulled in all the R/3 backend material groups and material types.
Now i deleted the replicated material types and Material groups in SRM using SRM Std reports and this too was successful.
2. Now i tried another method - In Txn R3AC3, i selected the Object DNL_CUST_PROD1 and i added table MARA and set up the filter requirements for MARA-MTART(Material Types) and MARA-MATKL(Material Groups), i synchronized the filters and then when i selected the object DNL_CUST_PROD1 in Txn R3AS for initial upload, even this is pulling in all the material types and material groups from R/3 without filtering
Can anyone please let me know the exact procedure to filter out the R/3 Material types and material groups during initial upload of this data into SRM 4.0

Hi,
Before starting the INitial load for MATERIAL,for filetr settings ,Go in tcode R3AC1.
There select the Object name as MATERIAL and click on the "filter settings" tab.
There in OBJECT FILTER SETTINGS
Enter the relevant filter criteria:
e.g. If you wnat to filter on Material type(MARA-MTART):
The input will be as follows:
Table /Structure :MARA
Field :MTART
OP :EQ Equality (= Low)
Low: "Material type name"
Incl/EXcl: Inclusive defined
And then click on the button "FILTER SYNC".
The filter settings are complete for the Material download.

Very Urgent Extn.Material Group and Material Group.

      I was created Generic D.S Using table (AFRU) for Orders Confirmation.I was Created Info Source AND ODS.
     I nedd to maitain ODS Extn.Material Group and Material Group.but These fields are not Avilable in Data Source (AFRU Table not having).
    Data source having Field AUFNR (order number) I was mapped To BW Object 0prodorder. I was maitained master data for 0prodorder.
0prodorder master data (0prodorder_attr) having 0material (PLNBEZ Field mapeed to 0material) as a navigational Attribute.
i am asking to all is it possible to bring Extn.Material Group and Material Group update rule level using master data attribute option?
Please help to me Above issue.it's very urgent.

    This Order Confirmations cube having data from 2 data sources.
    There is a performence issue to clubbing so many tables.
     Any way i was maitained 0material is attribute(Nav Attr) of 0proorder.i was loaded 0prodoreder master data.
   0material having master data .Extn mat group & Material group are Nav Attributes of 0material.
Now is it possible to maitaining the data in cube Extn mat group & Material group ?
Please Give me Suggestion with out adding another table using view.

Restriction on division, material group and material.

Hi friends,
current model,
infocube details as below,
0division, 0matl_group, 0material, currency, Base_unit, amount, quantity
Bex PLAN Query as below,
variables on 0division, 0matl_group
rows - 0material
columns - amount and keyfigure
now when the user selects a perticular division from the variable then he should be able to select only those material groups which are allowed under that selected division and similarly material, only those materials allowed selected division and selected matl_group.
I am talking about selecting from the variable (F4).
currently all material groups and all materials are allowed to select after selecting a division..

Both material groups and material types in search while creating SC

Hi Guys,
While creating a shopping cart ,when we are searching for materials that have been replicated in SRM we can search the material based on various parameters like Product ID ,Category ID etc.In SRM the Category ID is normally the material group.Now we want to search the material based on both,material group as well as material type.But i can have only one of these as my category.2 hierarchies R3MATCLASS and R3PRODSTYP exist in the system.But i do i make it work so that i can see both the material type as well as material group while selecting materials to shop.Is it possible??

What do you want to see exactly in the Selection screen fro the Product search???In the Std screen,you already have the field called PRODUCT TYPE where you can enter '01'(hierarchy) and '02'(Services).
But if you want the field HIERARCHY in the selection screen,then you need to modify the Std search help exit(BBP_F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_PRODUCT_GEN) attached to the Std Product search help(BBPH_PRODUCT) for the SHOP tarscn
You will need to create a Z search help exit(Z FM) and attach that to the Std Product search help given above.In the Z exit,you need to write the logic to display the reqd fields in the Selection screen.

PO Change according to material group and G/L Account no.

Hi Expert,
I have a requirement of "PO Change according to material group and G/L Account no.". I am using BAPI_PO_CHANGE.
But it is giving error.
"I 06 684 Releases already effected are liable to be reset
E BA 003 Instance 4500010532 of object type PurchaseOrder could not be changed
E ME 046 Purchase order item 00010 still contains faulty account assignments
W ME 039 Goods receipt posted unvaluated due to multiple account assignment
E ME 083 Enter G/L account no."
Can any body tell me how to fill this BAPI.......
Even i am trying to debug standard tocde of PO but it is not calling bapi BAPI_PO_CHANGE.
Could you please help me on this.

Hello,
To assign material group to G/l account you have to matain valuation class for Material group
SPRO >> Materials Managment >> Purchasing >> Material Master >> Entry aids for items with out material master.
Assign this valaution class to G/l in OBYC.

Link between Material group and GL account

Hi Friends ,
Need your help in the following issue
Where is the link between Material group and GL account. i.e. If material group is selected in PO then the GL account for the material should get picked up automatically in PO (for account assigned POs) ?
What I know is
1. In Account assignment category configuration we need to assign the value "VBR" in Account Modification field.
2. In Material group configuration we need to assign the vluation class for material group
3. In Account determination(OBYC) for GBB transcation type for the combination of general modifier "VBR" & Valuation class we need to assign the GL account .
When PO is created with respective account assignment category the GL account is picked from the above setting.
My question is , "Is there any other setting apart from the above which will decide the GL account in PO fro account assigned POs"?

Hi,
From IMG> Material Management> Purchasing> Material Master> Entry Aids for Items Without a Material Master,
With it you can define the G/L account assignment according to the relationship between material group and valuation class, from my point of view, you had better define some valuation class for non-produciton parts in advance.

How to get ATINN value based on material number and Class Type ?

I have below SELECT stmt code which gives the correct value of atwrt based on materil no and ATINN.
However in quality system, it is failing because in quality system "atinn" value is not 0000000381. It is different.
So how can I get ATINN(Internal characteristic) value based on material number and Class Type?
-Obtain the batch characterstic value for the Material******************
SELECT atwrt
    UP TO 1 ROWS
    INTO v_charvalue

Payment Card Information with Material Groups and Work Orders

When processing purchase transactions that were purchased using a payment card, standard functionality in SAP says the system automatically generates a parked document with authorized users allowed to post these documents. When these documents are being posted, does anyone know if the user can enter a material group and/or a work order number for reporting purposes?

If your business is privately held then SOX does not apply to you. If your business has stock w/shareholders then it does.
Correcting or making the material group more accurite is something that would be MORE SOX complient and not a violation.

Limit material group by material type

Hello experts,
When creating a material by tcode mm01 I would like to limit the material groups by material type, as it happens with valuation class.
It is possible? How can I achieve this behaviour?

Hi JP,
You cant control this, since material groups are floating entities with no dependancies. You have to either create a screen variant in SHD0 (this doesnt support for a particular material type) or chk with your ABAPer to wrte a code to achieve this.

I can see in the config the material group and associated valuation class is for Items without a materisl master, however where is the cost element derived, as I cannot see this data anywhere.

For some POs on cost center, (account assignment category K for example), you should have to enter a material group.
In configuration, you will assign a valuation class to these material groups (in spro, tcode OMQW). SAP will derive the cost element by reading table T030 (tcode OBYC) for the given valuation class.

Material groups are Extensively useful during :
Limit the Scope of Analysis
Reporting Purpose
External material group : Key that you can use to assign the material to an external material group or to a material group determined according to external systematics.
In General, External material groups are nothing but external representation of group of material which are extensively used in supply souce determination for provions materials related to retail and some other functions
In short if your Internal material group for example bearing is 0001 you can group externally further based on manufacturer like FAG for NRB. No accounting activity is based on it

Can I insert the purchase group and procurement type in the layout of tcode CK86_99 and CK86 when we have a material item ?
I have seen that we can define the control parameters for the Product Cost Controlling Information System.
Tcode OKN0 but we have only the basic fields and we haven't the specific fields for division.

Hello Marco,
I do not think you have any options to change the layout except for the fields that are available in the transaction screen. It is a standard report and is not a one based on report painter layouts. It would be helpful if you can consult an ABAP person who can throw some light or create a report for you.

In this step you create material groups.
You also have the option of using the same transaction to carry out the following activities:
Creating superior hierarchy levels
Assigning the superior hierarchy levels to a material group hierarchy
Assigning the base material group to the material group hierarchy
Assigning characteristics profiles below material group level
Requirements
Your R/3 System is configured as an SAP Retail System.
Activities
1. Create superior hierarchy levels
   You create hierarchy levels using transaction WG01 (creating
   material groups) via menu options MG environment --> Hierarchy
   level --> Create
2. Assign the superior hierarchy levels to a material group hierarchy
   You assign hierarchy levels to a hierarchy using transaction WG01
   (creating material groups) via menu options MG environment -->
   Hierarchy level --> Maint. MG hierarchy
3. Create material groups (base material groups) and then maintain the
   pre-defined materials (reference material/material group material)
4. Assign the base material group to the material group hierarchy
   You assign the material group to the hierarchy using transaction
   WG01 (creating material groups)
5. Assign characteristics profiles below material group level
   You assign characteristics profiles using transaction WG01
   (creating material groups)
Further notes
When creating material groups and then maintaining the pre-defined materials (reference material/material group material) you should be aware of the following.
As these materials can be created automatically using a minimum of data, you should follow this procedure with a check and possibly further maintenance, especially of plant-specific data. The material group reference material should be defined in as much detail as possible so as to keep the workload to a minimum when you have to create more materials for this material group.
All hierarchy allocations involving a material group (base material group) and a higher or lower hierarchy level can be carried out on the initial screen (there is no need to switch to the detail screen). All further hierarchy allocations can be defined top-down when you maintain material group hierarchies.
Only the material groups are transported automatically!

Hi Raja,
Firstly declare a select-option for material number.
write a select query specifying the required field and specify a where clause
as
WHERE MATNR IN S_MATNR.
Obviously you will select the records into internal table and so loop that internal table and display the records...
The records will be displayed on the basic list.
