Detect break off DB connection

Hi
I am using Labview 7.1, LabSQl and MySQL.
Is there a way to detect the break off in the database connection in the event case while my program is performing  other tests?
Clement

Normal operation procedure is to open and close the connection every time
you communicate with the database. If you work like that, you will get an
error if it is not possible to establish a connection. In any case, you'll
receive an error if the connection is broken, and you can act on that, for
instance by popping up a message, logging the error, or storing the failed
query in a buffer to retry later.
Regards,
Wiebe.

  • Am I the only S5 owner who has ALREADY has the USB cover break off with regular use, AND have Verizon and Samsung say it is damage and NOT a mfg. defect?

I bought the S5 less than two months ago through Verizon, not Amazon.  One of the selling points is that the phone is water and dust resistant.  The USB port comes with a little flap plug attached to the phone by a rubber or plastic pin.  To charge the phone, this plug is pulled aside, then replaced after charging.  In less than two months, the plug attachment broke.  Calls to Verizon resulted in the following: They told me I needed to contact Samsung directly.  I told them that I did not buy the phone from Samsung.  They agreed to call Samsung directly while I was on hold.  When they came back on, they told that Samsung said that this problem was phone damage and not manufacturer defect.  The fix would be done at my cost.  Verizon said that they would change me $300 if I sent the phone back to them.
I don't believe this dust cover is critical to the enjoyment of the phone, but it is discouraging to think that Samsung should sell a phone for $600 with such a manufacturer defect, and that Verizon refused to go to bat for a customer.

Did you look at your own link?  It's not available yet.  I don't know how to state that more clearly.  If it was available, I would have said, "I was also concerned about that flimsy cover breaking off so I purchased a Samsung QI charging cover for my phone.  That way I don't have to mess with the USB port cover."  But it's not available yet so I said I'm impatiently waiting for it to be released.
And before you get all excited and tell me how stupid I am, most of the items on your link are for the S3, S4, and Note 3.  Those are entirely different phones.  The only S5-specific QI products available now are 3rd party units that are held in place with tape and look pretty hokey.

  • Turn off Spotify Connect

How do I disable Spotify Connect?
If I've got my tablet (iPad) running the app, I definitely don't want my phone running it and draining the battery with the app running there as well.
    Thanks
    Edit by
I've just added a guide on ways of disabling Spotify Connect. Hopefully there will be a way of enabling/disabling the service at will in the future.
    How to disable Spotify Connect
    MODERATOR EDIT:
Hey everyone, Spotify staff here. Recently we updated the Community Idea "Make Spotify Connect a choice" with the status "Not Right Now".
If you've installed our latest Spotify app for Android (1.8.0) and you're still having trouble with battery drain please let us know right here.
We'd also like to mention these other Connect ideas which are a bit more specific to the Connectrequests you've made in this thread. Please leave your kudos and feedback in those as well if they apply to the reasons you'd like to turn off Spotify Connect.

Hi... I have a problem with this as well - I find it incredibly annoying. For example, I was out picking up a pizza and listening to spotify in my car... When I got home my girlfriend began listening to Spotify on her cell phone - and my cell phone began playing music from it because my device was the last selected. If at all possible, I'd like there to be a feature to turn this option OFF entirely. I can't see it being logical to have this on by default. I enjoyed the option that stopped my device from playing completely when someone else was using the same account from another machine, hopefully you can bring this back because it totally makes more sense than the way it is now.
I don't like the ability with anyone who has access to the account to be able to play music on any device that has the app open as well. This can be quite embarrassing if someone accidentally clicks on your device, say, as you go into a meeting with your phone in your pocket and it begins playing "It's raining men" or something... I hope you can understand my sentiment! Again this can be fixed if you just gave us an option to turn this off entirely for any (or all) device(s).

  • Nokia Lumia 2520 Shut off after connected to keybo...

    Hello all,
I have a Lumia 2520 tablet which I've had for about 4 months now.  I initially purchased one of the power keyboards with my tablet which worked great at first.  Then the tablet stopped responding to tkeyboard.  I sent in the tablet for repairs and it was returned with a status "Not broken" or something like that.  The tablet still wouldn't respond to the keyboard, though.  thinking that the problem was most likely teh keyboard, I purchased another keyboard. (I really wanted the red one anyway).
At first, the tablet and keyboard was working just fine.  But two weeks later, the tablet started shutting off when connected to keyboard.  So here's the basic scenario.  If my tablet is docked in the keyboard, I won't turn on.  I've attempted to hold the power button down forcing a full shutdown, and then turn it on, but that doesn't work either.  If I remove the tablet from the keyboard, it still doesn't turn on.  But if I hold down the power button for approx 15 seconds, and then try to turn it on, it comes on without any problems.  Now, if I re-dock the tablet with the keyboard, it immediately shutdown.  As if it's going to sleep.  But once again, will not turn back on unless I repeat the remove and holding down the power button.
Is this a problem with the tablet, or the keyboard.
    Please help.
    thanks!!
    Steve

Yardi Systems supporter of Microsoft and creates program to run on IE. One such program is called Payscan. It allows users to scan Invoices and post into the system. After posting the image of such invoices are abailable for view, for that Yardi prompts to install GPI to view images. However Microsoft does not allow to run such programs in my Windows RT tablet. Is there a work around? The image could be exported as PDF and opened using Adobe, which is a waste of time and space constraints

another important information is that connecting by the default listener LISTENER instead of the LISTENER_BKP_1 listener, the connection is completed successfully. There's enough SGA memory space too.

ORA-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connectionDon't do Oracle on Windows, so I'm not sure how the following relates to the Listener dealing with a dedicated server connection request on Linux/Unix.
On Linux/Unix, a dedicated server request means just that - a dedicated process has to be started to service that client. The Listener does it by using the parameters of the configured listener.ora service to execute +$ORACLE_HOME/bin/oracle+. This process then starts up, and the Listener hands off the client connection for this process for servicing.
If there is a failure somewhere on this series of steps fail, the Listener throws the ORA-12518 exception. For example, the +$ORACLE_HOME+ has been incorrectly configured in listener.ora and it fails to execute and startup a dedicated server process.
And this relates to the underlying error you are seeing:
TNS-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection
    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
    TNS-00530: Protocol adapter error
32-bit Windows Error: 2: No such file or directoryI think that the Listener on Windows uses the CreateRemoteThread() Win32 call to start up the server process thread. However, it needs a valid process identifier (of the existing Oracle instance) for this call - and thus needs to first identify the Oracle instance process. Could be that this step uses a ORACLE_HOME reference. And if that directory path is not valid, it is unable to identify the process id of the Oracle instance and thus unable to spawn a dedicated thread to service that client.

  • Can i turn the Laptop screen off while connecting the TV?

    Dear All,
I am connecting my Mac to TV 32'' via mini display port converted to HDMI.
I am using it on MAC OS X 10.6.6, and on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 also.
when i am connecting my TV, the 2 screens are on, Laptop screen and TV screen.
Can i turn the Laptop screen off while connecting the TV?
how to do this on both operating systems?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Boudy,

The quick answer is, hook up the tv to the computer, close the lid, then wake the computer up by clicking the mouse while the lid is closed. Not sure if it'll work while running windows, but I'd bet it does if you have the mac drivers installed on the win os.

  • Initiate a dial-up connection or detect whether I am connected to the net

I want to initiate a dial-up connection from my java program and also to detect whether I am connected to the internet or not.

well I am developing a proxy server and I want to add
a feature of dial-up demand that detects the current
connection status and if not connected to the net then
call the dial-up dialers in dial-up networking folder
and then connects to the internetI'd say it works like I wrote earlier:
Keep yourself in the proxy-server the connections-status.
If your proxy-server runs on a normal PC, it should be enough to try to connect to the internet.
But do you need control over multiple dial-up dialers etc., this probably isn't enough.
If I can find the time, I'll look into it.
Maybe direct access to the modem is also an option.
That depends on the modem of course and then you probably also need additional scripting. I guess that's not what you're looking for, but if you need info on that, it's probably also an option to look at a wvdial-script on Linux for connection to the internet. It might also be a problem if you have multiple channels for connecting onto the internet (cable, phone,ASDL etc.)
