Determine material master mandatory fields

Hello,
I've developed an workflow based program to create material master.
I want to set all fields in my proram as required
which are defined mandatory in Customizing of material master.
Can anybody give me a hint how to determine the mandatory fields for
material master creation.
What i tried up to now:
I have tried MATERIAL_UPDATE_ALL ( used in MATERIAL_MAINTAIN_DARK )
and then analysed the retrun table. This is working fine when calling from SE37 but
fails when integrated in my own program.
The Problem is:
In SE37 following statement is true altough the fieldsymbol is empty (it's assigned and
really empty, so it should not work).
IF NOT <f3> IS INITIAL.
In my program it fails, which is IMHO correct.
Perheps someone can tell me why?
If you have any other suggestions how to solve my problems let me know.

In MAterial MAster, you can make any field mandatory or optional . It all depends on the business process.\

Material master table/field that can store a value that indicates the sales

Hello Gurus....
My Client is looking for a material master table/field that can store a value that indicates the sales volume (quantity) of a material. If the sales volume of a material falls within the top 80% of the total sales volume, then the material will have an indicator of "A", 15% will be "B", bottom 5% will be "C". Business wants to use this field to drive the automatic putaway into different pick zones.
We cannot use ABC Analysis field (MARC-MAABC) or CC phys.in.ind. (MARC-ABCIN) since they are used for ABC analysis and cycle count based on value, nor volume. Using these fields will limit our future use of the true SAP functionality.
field in Purchasing view in the material master called Mfg Part Profile. However, this is also against the original functionality of the field.
Other than, this any other field we can use it? or the only option is to do a custom field?

Make field in Material master mandatory based on the material group

Hello all,
I need to make the field "post to inspection flag" mandatory based on the material group while creating the Material master.
I found options for making the field mandatory based on Material type,Industry sector and plant NOT based on the material group.
Could anyone please provide suggestions on setting up the field as mandatory based on material group while creating material master

You can make Material Group field as Mandatory while Creating Material Master.
SPRO>Log General>Material Master>Field Selection>Maintain Field Selection for Data Screens
Select Screen # 48
In the Field selection (Field Ref.) of (MARA - MAKTL) screen , Change the settings from Optional to Required Entry for T Codes MM01, MM02 or you can select the Material Type ;
Please note this by choosing this selection the fields of Profit Center and Division will also become Mandatory.

Tax classification field of the material master - Mandatory

At the "Sales: sales org. 1" view of the material, there exist the tax classification field of the material master. How can I make this field mandatory?

Go to T-code OMSR
Select Field name MARA - TAKLV and click on the arroow sysmbol on the right against that line.
For Field Ref MM01 - select the radio button "Reqrd Entry".

In material master particular field should be restricted

In material Master(MM02),a particular field is hide or gradeout to all the user ids but for particular user id system should allow to make the changes that field.

System should allow to edit this field for few user ids for a particular plant & for all other user ids system should not allow to edit the same field.(MMSTA)

Material number mandatory (field selection) based on acc. ***. category

Hy Folks,
i am looking for a solution to define the Material Number as a mandatory field if the Account Assignment Category "Q" is used in a Purchase Order Item. Field Selection of Account ASsignment category Q is not sufficient as the material number is not included.
Any ideas for a solution in SAP standard customizing? (sure, user exit will be possible...)

With settings in SPRO this is not possible you have to go for exits or BADI take help of ur ABAP er.

Notification to defined users for Material master specific field changes

I would like to check the feasibility and way to fulfil the below requirement.
We would like to send notification per mail or Pop UP to the defined users whenever there is a change in particular filed in Material Master (Like MVKE-VMSTA) using MM02 Transaction.

Hi,
You can create an ABAP query to use tables CDHDR and CDPOS tables.
Select the object values as Materials and make the date range as dynamic in the selection screen.
You can also select the table name and field names.
Based on the output field display selection you can find the person who has changed the objects.
Run the query in the background and in the output device you can put as mail and you can define the destination mail id.
This way, the changes made can be notified to the responsible user.

Material Master Repair Field

You can get the stock of materials using T code MB52 using material group for " Repair" which is assigned in material master.

Combination of two material master data fields

Hello,
is there a possibility to combine two fields in the material master data?
I want to combine the "do not cost" in view Costing 1 with the "price control".
In case of price control = "V" I want to set the "do not cost" flag and in case of price control = "S" I want to delete the flag automatically.
Is it possible to combine these fields?

I need to make a email field as a mandatory for some account group and company code combination.
I have done mandatory for account group. but now client is asking it will ask for only some particular company code only.
i think std SAP not possible. If yes pls tell me how to do these setting

Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable -Vendor Accounts -Master Data -Preparations for Creating Vendor Master Data -Define Account Groups with Screen Layout (Vendors)
and for emial purpose select mantory .

Hi,
For making any field in material master optional/mandatory/hide , follow the steps:
1.Just click the tab ,(Which is u want to be mandatory)and get the field name
2.Go to T.Code: OMSR and enter that field name and get Selection Group
3.1. Use t.Code: OMS2 and click your material type and in next screen check Field reference ( you have assigned for material type){{ ( example :;For ROH material type the Field reference is ROH)
3.2. use T.code:OMS9,, Double Click your Field Reference and select field selection Group & select round box of mandatory and save

Middleware settings to map CRM Z table fields with ECC material master flds

We want to create a Z table in CRM,this table willl have 2 fields External Material Group and Old Material Number.These 2 fields in CRM table are corresponding to same material master (MM03) fields in ECC.The changes to these fields done in ECC material master should be updated in CRM Z table.
I want to understand the middleware settings I need to do in order to map the ECC and CRM fields.

CIN Configuration in Material Master

Hi Experts,
I have maintained all the settings related to CIN in the path SPRO >> Logistics General >> Tax on Goods Movements >> India
But in the material master the fields to maintained the chapter ID is not appearing in the "Foreign Trade: Import Data".
Please let me know
1. if I am looking at wrong place
2. What other settings are required in material master and vendor master etc.
Please note: I was given a PDF document for CIN settings but the doc doesnt contain the additional settings that are required to be done in the vendor and material master.

There is no pricing procedure in CIN. As far as CIN is concern it is only relevant to Excise duty, Edu. Cess on Excise duty and Higher Edu. Cess as far as sales point of view in addition to special excise duty or additional excise duty.
Accordingly condition types are created in Tax procedure TAXINJ and the SD pricing procedure. These condition types once created in Tax Procedure get reflected in Tax Codes which can be saved in Condition record of pricing procedure which determine the excise taxes. Also these taxes are to be maintained in J1ID to get determine in Excise Invoice.
Hence there is only one pricing procedure.

List of material number with PO text from material master

I want to get a list of materials number with PO text from material master. Can anybody help ?

The purchase order texts maintained in the material master are stored
as SAPScript text files in tables STXH (header) and STXL (lines). For
material master records:
Field TDOBJECT = 'MATERIAL'
Field TDNAME = material number (MARA-MATNR).
So you should be able to write a small report to extract the data.
