  • Can it Possible...Developer 2000 v2.1&v6 work together

I need to have on the same computer, Developer 2000 v.2.1 and v.6, can it's possible?
    How?

It is possible. Only be very careful how you handle the source fiels. Dev 6.0 opens & converts D2K 2.1 sources without any warning.
So, once you saved some fmb/pll with dev 6.0, you will no longer be able to open them with D2k 2.1.
So, imho, it's best to decide which of the two you'll use, although you may have them both on the same PC.

  • Where to download Developer/2000 later version

I am learning Oracle with David Lockman's book "Teach yourself
Oracle8 database development in 21 days". I have done database
before and know SQL. I have no problem understanding the book.
He uses Developer/2000 as the tool to access Oracle, which I
think is a product of the company Oracle. However I can not find
it in the Oracle.com website. Maybe they have changed the name
or I am at the wrong place. I would appreciate it very much if
any one can tell me to I can download a free version of
Developer/2000 of later version to learn.
    Thank you.

  • LOCATION FOR DOWNLOADING DEVELOPER 2000 AND Designer/2000 SOFTWARE

Can u pls. give me the location from where I can download DEVELOPER/2000 AND Designer/2000 SOFTWARE

Designer 2000 can not be downloaded.
Instead you can download the current releases of Designer -
    Designer10g(9.0.4.7) and Designer10gR2(10.1.2.2) from
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/designer/index.html.
This can be a standalone installation but if you are interested in generating Oracle forms/reports from Designer, then you will have to install this on top of the corresponding iDS releases ie iDS 10g(9.0.4) or iDS 10gR2(10.1.2.0.2). iDS can be downloaded from
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ids/index.html

  • Developer 2000 ver 5 connecting problem with 10g

Is it possible to work developer 2000 ver 5 with 10g database? When I connected in Form Designer it worked after a long time But when in runtime both form and report gives network error. So, Please give a solution for developer 5 to work with oracle 10g.
    Thanks & regards.
    Jamil

    Hi,
We use forms 6 and had the same problem and at this time upgrade to a new version is not possible; so we found two ways to handle this (Note we have form 6 to this may not work for you):
    a) Compile your forms using a database 8 or 8i, and the fmx should be able to connect to a 10g database. this means a daily backup from to 10g to 8i or at least make sure you have the same db structure.
    b) Perform a partial forms upgrade of procedure builder:
from the help menu on forms open "About form builder" and check the version of installed products.
Download forms 6i and upgrade only "Procedure builder" with this:
Oracle Procedure Builder V6.0.8.21.0 Build #1459 - Production
option b has been working for us, we are able to connect to a 10g database without problems.
Of course, this is a work-around, not supported by Oracle or anyone for that matter, so make sure you test it in a couple of machines before using in a production envrionment.
    Regards,
    Hugo.

  • Developer 2000 forms to compile in 9i

    Hi.
I have an application developed in Developer 2000 , now want to convert it in Deverloper 9i. While compiling it give me many errors like report calling function has been changed. I am not able to find and migration utility in the installation . Please let me know if I have not fully installed developer 9i or there is some other way to migrate froms .
    Thanks.

In the newer Forms versions, it is only supported to call Reports using the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT built-in. You will need to either manually recode your app or use the Forms Migration Assistant (FMA) to perform the task for you. Although the FMA seems like the easier method, it does add a significant amount of additional code to your application including the addition of a PLL. If possible, I would recommend manually recoding. FMA was available with Forms 9.0.x and newer, however in 9.0.2 installing the first patchset or newer was required in order to use it. It was also available for 9.0.2 as a separate download for installation into the Oracle Home. Newer Forms version include the utility with the initial product installation.
    (FMA for 9.0.2 only) http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/forms/index.html
Refer to the product documentation (Builder Online Help) for more details about RUN_REPORT_OBJECT and FMA
For us to assist here, you will need to clarify which product versions you are using. Neither Developer 2000 or Developer 9i represent versions. These are just marketing names which represent numerous versions. Each version handles migration slightly different.
The product version can be found in the Builders under HELP > ABOUT or by opening the compiler's help option.
Access to most of the Forms documentation can be obtained from here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/
Also, be aware that all versions of Developer 9i (6.0.x & 9.0.x) are considered obsolete. The latest version is 10.1.2.0.2 (10.1.2.3 with the latest patch set) - "Developer Suite 10g Release 2". If your "Developer 2000" version is 6.0.5.x you can move directly to 10.1.2.0.2, however you will need to change

  • Developer/2000 for Dynix PTX

Is it possible to install Developer/2000 client on Unix Server?
What have to be done to use it on Unix (other products like X
    Windows,...)?
    null

Developer6 is the latest release of Developer/2000. Developer6i is expected very soon.
Developer6 will work on Win95/98/NT and is the best RAD tool to build Client Server Applications very quicky.
Your Oracle Database can be Oracle 8i or Oracle 8.0.5 on WinNT or Unix.
Oracle Database and Developer6 forms a terrific combination.
You can download Developer 6 products from http://technet.oracle.com

  • Developer 2000 forms for95/NT won't link my oracle 8i for 98 database, Y?

    hello world,
It is better to create a sequence of primary keys on a table for
eventually use for building forms and does it really not matter.
Secondly, i have oracle8i Personal edition installed in my
orahome8i area and also did managed to install Developer 2000
in this same home area but would not run.
As I could notice, does it really matter if I have installed
developer 2000 with an older version of SQLplus and whenever i
try to log into my 8i database, it comes up with a TNS bla bla
    bla not found.
How do i go about getting my Developer 2000 for win95/NT to hook
up to an entirely differently installed oracle 8i for win98
    database.
I have tried removing the key from the registry and deleting
some bits of my autoexec.bat file but still to no avail.
Will i be able to download a compatible version or is it just
    about me.
    much appreciation.
    Ayo show

My guess would be that you still have some remnants of your old "personal" installation, and your new Enterprise installation of 9i is finding the DLL from the old installation.
Make sure you un-install the old Oracle installation first, and delete all oracle directories for good measure.

  • How to get Oracle Developer 2000 for Windows

    Hi all,
I have some fmx and rep developed by "Oracle Developer 2000 for Windows" product. I can not run this fmx because of I dont have "Oracle Developer 2000 for Windows" product. I look up download.oracle.com to download but I dont find this product. How can I download or How can I run these fmx and reps?

Then you're pretty much out of luck. Your only option then is to ask Oracle Support, if they have a copy of "Developer 2000" (Forms 5.0), as you will need the Forms runtime for this version - but chances are pretty small. I just wonder, how you only can have the compiled files and not the source files... and there's no way to decompile an FMX back to an FMB. You can't get the source files somehow?
You know, that you're asking for something, which is very very old... it's like asking for a copy of Windows 95... on floppy disks....
It's more than 10 years ago, my company upgraded from Forms 5, and I don't think we have a copy of the installation media any longer. If Oracle Support can't provide you with a set of installation media, you might be lucky, that some user on this forum has a copy of it and will send it to you - but the chances of that is also pretty small, I'd say.... and in any case it will be completely unsupported, you're all on your own.
If I were you, I'd consider getting the application in question completely rewritten instead of trying to use those old FMX's for anything.
    Hope this helps,
    Jacob

I think if you follow the steps you can connect --
    1. First check whehter TCP/IP has been installed and
you can connect using the protocol. You can do this
using simple command like ping. So on the DOS command
    prompt type following--
    ping 127.0.0.1 and enter.
This will give you a series of messages and in the end
OK. If you get OK in the end that means TCP/IP is
    properly working.
    2. Then configure the tnsnames.ora for the database sid you have
chosen. You can do it through SQL Net Easy configuration.
Configure it for TCP/IP and remember the sid name e.g. ORCL.
    3. Go to DOS prompt and change the directory to your
ORACLE_HOME. Start the database giving command
    svrmgr30 (enter)
    4. It will give you prompt as SVRMGR. Type follwing
    connect internal; (enter)
It should show message as connected. Then quit out of server
    manager.
    5. You are now again on to DOS prompt. Type the following
    lsnrctl80 start (enter)
It will give the message as Listener Started Successfully.
    6. Now minimize the Dos window and start Forms application.
While connecting type username, password and database name also.
    e.g. scott, tiger, ORCL.
It should get connected. Because I followed the same procedure
and now I am working suceessfully on it.

  • Developer/2000 Release 2.1

    Hello everyone,
Please help me find a place where I can download Oracle Developer/2000 Release 2.1 from.
    Thanks.

It may be available through Oracle Support depending on the platform you need. You will need a valid Support Contract and access to MyOracleSupport (http://support.oracle.com)
Here is the info for Windows.
Oracle Developer Server Release 2.1 for Microsoft Windows NT
    Part number: A63484-01
Oracle Developer/2000 Release 2.1 for Windows NT and Windows 95
    Part number: A63486-01
The following should be considered before attempt to request or use the above:
    1. This product was desupported long ago and is not entitled to any Technical or Development support.
    2. This product version was not Y2K compliant. As a result it likely will not install correctly as the installer is sensitive to the date.
    3. This product was never intended to work correctly on the current operating systems. So, even if you are able to get it installed, it likely will not work correctly.

  • Developer 2000

I hve successfully downloaded and installed personal oracle 8i from the download site and now need to know which is the most appropriate developer 2000 suite so I can run forms . I am a university student and have to do my final year project using oracle to build a data base. Does anyone have a simple step-by-step guide on how to create a db using oracle?? please can anyone help. My o/s platform is windows 98

    Dukey,
Refer the Oracle Press book "PL/SQL programming by Scott Urman" which is really a good one for doing back end database work. To work with Oracle8i database u can install either Developer2000 Forms5 version or Oracle Developer6 or Developer6i. All are compatible. Either u can create forms and install it on client machine or use Developer Server and Reports Server and deploy on the web also. so that is purely depends on what u wanna do. You can download these versions of developer from Oracle site or u can request them a free trial version CD. Good luck

  • Develop a download manager

i need to develop a download managing software which can
    1)improve the speed of download
    2)making downloading much more convenient
    how can i proceed,what do i do

    Well,
you can improve the speed of download with concurrent streams of data being downloaded, but such a solution is not always possible.
If you are developing both server and client side of download solution, i.e. for the update of a inhouse software solution you can make the servern and client multi-thread, and try to increase the download speed that way, by creating concurrent streams that download difrent chunks of data.
the only convinience that a downlaod manager should provide is the ability to pause/resume. any thing besides that is just fluf
