Developer 5 not working

Dear all
We have installed migrated database from oracle 8.1.5 to oracle 10g
now every thing is working except
we have developer 5 applications that are not working
the developer 6 are working
could anyone suggest

Both products (Developer 6.0 and Forms/Reports 6i) are desupported since more than a year ago. (extended support options is still available for 6i)
It seems as if 6i was certified against 9.2 and in some cases "10g", but v 6 did not get past 8.1.7.

Hi i successfully instaled my oracle 11g on windows 7,but when iam trying to use my sql developer chich i got by default with 11g is not working ..when i open it its asking me for "select the path of java.exe file" when i browse and given the right path .iits again giving me the same pop and not throughing any error msg at least.

Well, not supported does not necessarly mean does not work, but if you have problem, then your only way is to find a solution on your own or through other fellows who are doing the same.
Anyway, you could ask your question in the SQL Developer dedicated forum, but again, you could have some unexpected issues by working on non-supported config :

Run Web Layout in Reports Developer not working properly

I created a simple tabular report on hr.employees. It runs fine for the "Run Paper Layout" button. When I click "Run Web Layout" I get an IE browser window with the following:
404 Not Found
OracleJSP: java.io.FileNotFoundException:
Set the init-param debug_mode to "true" to see the complete exception message.
I do not know where to 'Set the init-param debug_mode to "true"'
I'm using windows XP
My "home" for the 10g Developer Suite is I:\DevSuite10g
My "home" for the 10g Rel2 database is I:\oracle\product\10.2.0\
I can navigate to http://mycomputer:8890/reports/rwservlet and see the
"OracleAS Reports Services - Servlet Command Help" webpage
I'm not using Oracle Application Server software.

CauseA space in the name caused the URL call for the jsp not to be valid.
When the URL is generated, the space is treated as the need for a new parameter.
EXAMPLE
JSP name: 'my test.jsp'
Builds the following URL:
http://server:3000%2Fmy+test000203332.jsp?frombuilder=yes&validatetag=yes&JSPRUN=Yes
While the following name without a space produces a good URL
JSP name: 'myname.jsp'

Note that the '+' is not in the good URL.
SolutionTo implement the solution, please execute the following steps:

LightRoom 4 Trial: Develop not working

Hi There. I just downloaded the Trial Version of Lightroom 4 for mac. I imported photos and they in a catalogue. When i select a photo then click the "Develop" tab I get a message that says "no image selected". I have watched a few different videos and tried multiple things but It seems that the develop module is not available on the Lightroom Trial. However, I have read on these forums that the tutorial does not block any features that the full version does not have. Can anyone explain what I might be doing wrong?

This happened to me too. Just downloaded LIghtroom4 trial today, could not get any photos to stay selected into Develop mode. No thumbs were loading in film strip. Restart fixed it, so thanks for posting both issue and tip.

Listbox control in Visual Web Developer not working correctly

Not sure where to post this issue. I am developing a web app using Visual Web developer. I have created an .aspx page where I have placed a listbox control on the page and populate it when the page loads. When I select an item from the list the
listindex value is always -1. I can never get the index for the other values. I've used the following code,but get the same results:
For i = 0 To ListBox1.Items.Count - 1
    If ListBox1.Items(i).Selected = True Then
        val= ListBox1.Items(i).Value
    End If
Next
val=nothing, listindex is -1 when i check

Profiler in SQL Developer not working

When I run the profiler in SQL developer , I get the following error.
"Directory exists; check if /tmp exists on file system, and oracle has permission to write there. "
This error sounds like an UNIX error but I am running SQL developer on Windows 7 (64) OS. Has anyone seen this or knows how to get around it.

According to the SQL Developer 3.1.04.72 documentation, the "get" command (among others) is not supported:

so options are limited. If sqlplus is accessible and using it as an "external tool" won't conflict entirely with local policy, these links might interest you:

SQL Developer Not Working "no ocijdbc11 in java.library.path"

I have Oracle 10g with SQL Developer 3.0 on Windows XP, they worked well untill I just installed Oracle ODBC (ODAC101040.exe). I started to receive error message "no ocijdbc11 in java.library.path" and I am no longer able to use SQL Developer.
Any solution?

Check on the envirnment variables on the windows. Once you installed the "Oracle ODBC" it might have replaced the Old env. variables that can found in XP "System Properties> advance tab> environment Variables". Make sure you have the right environment variables that point to right directory locations. Update us with your findings.

SQL Developer not working on Ubuntu 6.10

I just upgraded to Ubuntu 6.10 and discovered that SQL Developer does not start. It fails with next message:

I've read the ubuntu linux 6.10 does not use bash as the default shell anymore. Most linux distributions use bash as the default shell. Ubuntu 6.10 uses a shell called dash. Not sure why ubuntu would change it. So, I don't know if it has anything or not to do with the shell.

SQL Developer not working

I installed SQL developers dot rel. 3.2.20.09.87 in my windows XP machine today. The downloadable zip file is available at oracle website http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/downloads/index.html.
Version I downloaded is :
Windows 32-bit - zip file includes the JDK1.6.0_35 Download Download 209 M
On clicking sqldeveloper.exe , the small Oracle SQL Developer window pops but it goes away in few seconds.
Any pointers to resolve this issue is highly appreciated !

To avoid losing the window before you can read what went wrong, run the sqldeveloper.exe version in directory
<SQLDev_Install_Dir>\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.exeinstead.

Application Developed in Apex 3.2 is not working Apex 4.1

Hi,
We have few application developed using oracle apex 3.2 and oracle 10g enterprise edition as the database also have a Apache tomcat server configured in the system. These application are running fine have no issue in production instance.
I recently installed Oracle Apex 4.1 and Oracle 10g Express Edition in my local machine to test these application in oracle 4.1. I took the same database dump and installed in the local machine no issues with the database side. I installed the application that are developed in 3.2 and installed in new local instance but this is not working.
It show >>Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
Please suggest me what might be the issue how to trouble shoot this issue.

Debugging is not working in R/3 from WebDynpro-ABAP developed webpage input

Dear Friends,
We are facing a serious problem for debugging. Expecting valuable input for the same.
Debugging is not working in R/3 from WebDynpro-ABAP developed webpage input in Production Server.
The debugging (for WebDynpro-ABAP application) is working in Dev. Server for
1st ] Within R/3
Ex. debug for bapi within R/3. i.e. value enter as input in R/3 only.
2nd ] From webpage to R/3
Ex. Some input given on the internet web page developed through WebDynpro and external breakpoint set in R/3 it works. It directs to R/3 code through debugging.
In Prod. Server the 1st case above is working but the 2nd case is not working.
In Prod. Server the WebDynpro developed applications are running successfully through internet explorer webpage inputs. So running the application is not a problem in prod. Server but debugging of the same is the problem.
The setting which are done in Prod. server are,
1] RZ10 in parameters are set for port and host name.
2.1] In SMICM check for ICM.
2.2] Host file updated in Windows-System 32.
3] In SICF following services are active,
3.1] default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro
3.2] default_host/sap/public/bc
3.3] default_host/sap/public/bc/webdynpro/viewdesigner
3.4] default_host/sap/bc/wdvd
3.5] default_host/sap/public/icman

.jar file is not working properly :developed in NETBEANS

Hi Gurus,
i am using NETBEANS IDE 7.2.
i am developing a project that interacts with databases 10g and COM ports of machine , these all processes are performed by .bat file which i am trying to run from jFramform , code works perfectly .bat file is also called perfectly when i run the project using F6 from the NETBEANS, for testing i placed some dialogue boxes on the form to test it ,
but when i run executable .jar file , form run successfully and dialogue box works perfectly but .bat file is not called by executable .jar file.
this is how i call the .bat file...

and below is the contents of portlib.bat file

you must probably ask why i am calling a .jar file using .bat file .
reason is that this .jar project sends message using GSM mobile , System.exit(); is compulsory to complete a job and then do the next one ,
if i use the same file to execute this job it makes exit to entire the application (hope you can understand my logic).
that's why i use extra .jar file in .bat file , when single job is completed .bat exits itself and new command is given.
Problem is that code is working perfectly in NETBEANS when i run the project but when i run .jar then .bat file is not working ,

as instructed in the article i compiled both the projects at same version or sources and libraries which is 1.7

inside the NETBEANS IDE c:\process\err.txt remains empty and code works perfectly , but when I run executable .jar file( by double clicking on that file in dist directry) then c:\process\err.txt becomes full with this error text and there is no response from calling D:\SMS\SMS\send_message.bat

Sql Developer Launcher Not Working In Linux

Hello,
System Details:
Fedora 19
Sql Developer Version: Version 4.0.0.12
Java Version: OpenJDK 1.7.0-40
I can launch Sql Developer from the command line successfully.
/opt/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper.sh
But when I attempt to use the launcher icon, I receive a SIGSEGV error. Here is the top of the hs_error.log file.

The solution in https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2594033 worked. I added the 2nd line below to /opt/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper.sh.

unset -v GNOME_DESKTOP_SESSION_ID
cd "`dirname $0`"/sqldeveloper/bin && bash sqldeveloper $*
Previously, I incorrectly updated ~/.bashrc to unset GNOME_DESKTOP_SESSION_ID. That's why running Sql Developer from the command line worked, but not from the launcher.

Code developed in NWDS 7.1 CE7.1 not working in NWDS 7.1 EHP1

Hi,
The code developed using NWDS CE7.1 is working fine at runtime and then migrated to NWDS 7.1 EHP1 for a new requirement.The same code in NWDS 7.1 EHP1 is not working at runtime . The problem is with one of the columns in a table.This column is binded to a value attribute in NWDS CE7.1 whereas in NWDS 7.1 EHP1, this "value attribute" is now just an"attribute".
The column is no longer displaying the right value at runtime when deploying the code from NWDS 7.1 EHP1.
Please help.

Yes, the attribute's dataype is not effective at runtime.I had created a custom date datatype for this attribute and assigned a format"dd-MMM-yy HH.mm.ss" which is coming fine when the track has 7.10 sap dependencies but not when using a new track having same SCA file with 7.11 sap dependencies.I found it's not a problem with NWDS but when we with the version of the SAP dependencies added to the NWDI track.Kindly suggest.

10g forms developed using windows machine is not working in Solaris machine

I have developed a form using the following version of Oracle Developer suit 10g Fomrs using WINDOWS machine.
My Application server is in a SOLARIS machine. All the .fmx are copied in the same SOLARIS machine in a directory.
I have copied the form (.fmx) in the same directories where the other forms are, in the SOLARIS machine.
Now i click on the menu item (menu item was already present there before developing the form in the menu. I did not have to create a new menu item in the Menu) in the windows machine.
The form doesnt appear.
Could you please tell me wheather i have to compile the form that i have developed in WINDOWS machine in some format of SOLARIS machine, or I have to do something else so that on the click of Menu item in Windows machine that form appears. Or Ihave to develop the form using SOLARIS machine?
