Device Central won't start

Device Central, as installed with CS3 Premium, is not running
either standalone or from any other CS3 product. I have tested on
two different MacBook laptops built in January 2007. When I
double-click the application, nothing happens. If I try to run it
from within another CS3 application, nothing happens either. I
suspect the use of Opera’s Small‑Screen Rendering
technology in Device Central might be conflicting with my installed
Opera 9.2 browser. On the other machine which had Opera 9.1
installed, uninstalling Opera did not help.
Any suggestions on where to head next?

EdwardRayl, can you open a web support case via
http://www.adobe.com/support?
Post the case number and I'll check up on it..

  • Device Central will not start

I've installed CS3 Master Suite twice every program works
fine, but Device Central will not start. A message come up saying
"You cannot open the application "Device Central" because it may be
damaged or incomplete". So I poked around in the program Package
and started the Device Central item using Terminal. The program
start right up and runs like it should does anyone know how to fix
    this?

I reported this same problem a couple of months ago with my
MacBook and OS X 10.4.9. Upon trying Device Central again, it is
now working perfectly. I've done nothing at all regarding a fix
specific to this product. My guess is that there might be some
dependency that is not satisfied with a standard
    installation.

  • Apple Mobile Device Service won't start or stop

I plugged my iphone in, and it said apple mobile device service is not started. So, I used the instructions on here and got to the services. However, when I right clicked AMD service, I was unable to click start, stop, pause, resume, restart, etc. So I went to properties and I was still unable to change anything; it was all blank and I couldn't click anything. I don't know how to fix this... Also, about 15 minutes before, it was working fine and my iphone showed up like normal, but then I installed the new apple software for itunes and that's when this all happened.

it tells me it cannot connect because Apple Mobile Device is not started, so I go to "services" and start it but it tells me it started and then stopped.
Do you have Megakey software installed on the PC? (Other folks have been reporting similar symptoms caused by a conflict with Megakey.)

  • Device Central won't work for any Apple devices

I know I probably have a setting wrong somewhere, but I've Googled this to no avail.
I have a flash file and I'm trying to view it in the iPad emulator in Device Central. I have it as a project, Flash Player 10 & 10.1, ActionScript 3.0, but when I click Control -> Test Movie -> In Device Central, and choose iPad, iPhone 3GS, or iPhone 4 profiles created by Adobe, it says that "The file type is not supported on this device!"
I'm sure I'm exporting it wrong or something but I can't figure out what settings I'm supposed to be using. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Amber

    Hi Amber,
That is because the devices you mentioned do not support Flash and also have not been profiled to support Flash emulation.
    Thanks,
    Nandi

  • Device Central won't open after upgrade

On MacBook Pro runnining 10.4.10. After downloading device
upgrade and Flash 3 upgrade program will not open at all.
The splash screen displays, then the alert: The application
    Adobe Device Central quit unexpectedly.
    Any ideas anyone?

    Nigel and illergeek,
Have either of you opened Adobe Support cases for this issue?
I'd like to follow up with you directly, and opening a case is
usually the best way. You may also send me contact info directly to
(bewolfe at adobe dot com). But a case number is easier to track
(and lots easier to lose track of. :) )
You can open a Support webcase here:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/
(be sure to open a support case, not a customer service
case). Then please reply back with your case number.

  • Apple Mobile Device Services won't start

When I attempt to install the latest version of itunes on my Windows XP machine it consistently fails. It starts by not being able to start the Apple Mobile Device Service. When I ignore, it finished but when I try to start iTunes, I receive the message:
This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found.
I have tried repairing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but I cannot get passed the Services issue. I have full admin rights to my machine. I can see in MSConfig that the service has been stopped but I cannot enable it.
    Help. Please? Thanks!
I read the answer on starting the service. I attempted that but the computer responded with cannot start service, Error 1053, the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
Should I just delete that piece manually and do a repair? Thanks!!

  • Release 11.1.4.62 does not install on Windows XP. Mobil Device Service won't start

After downloading and installing iTunes 11.1.4.62 the install gets the error that the it was unable to strat the Mobile Device Service.  The application event logs shows that the service was unable to start and could be do to not having proper permissions.  However, I am the Administrator on the system.  Aslo, looking at the properties the directory location for the service executable is Program Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support..  Program Files directory was introduced after Windows XP and is not a valid directory.  XP usually uses Documents and Settings\All Users.
Previous versions of iTunes worked on this system.

Found the answer in discussion #24604560.

  • Device central not working

When I click Device central, the program starts but then this error message appears:
"Licensing for this product has stopped working." I'm running CS3 Photoshop Standard on windows Vista. The copy of the software is original, it's not installed on any other computers.
I tried reinstalling Photoshop but that did not solve it.
I don't know if it's related but i can't get "Save for Web & Devices" to work. The error message on that is "Could not complete the Export command becuase of a program error."
I hate it when software doesn't run as it should.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Windows won't start after downloading driver.

I recently installed an audio driver for my Lenovo Ideatab Lynx but after restarting the device, windows won't start up. It shows the lock screen but after unlocking, the screen stays blank and wont show the start menu. I think i accidentally installed the driver from the windows 8 page when i do have windows 8.1 on my device. Is this why this is happening and how can I fix it?

    Satellite P205-S6307
The only way it will start is in safe mode.
So you know how to get to the Advanced Boot Options menu using F8. Go there and choose Repair Your Computer.
When you reach the System Recovery Options menu, choose Startup Repair.
    I've tried several things..
If that doesn't fix the normal boot, tell us what you've already tried. There's no point in our repeating all those.

  • I keep getting an error message when I plug my iPhone into my computer.  It says, "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device has not been started." This has never happened before when I plugged it in - now the iPhone won't show up at all.

Someone please help!  I do not know how to fix this.  It keeps saying my Mobile Device has not been started and I can't get my phone to show up in the iTunes window AT ALL. It will charge while plugged in, but it just won't come up in iTunes.

Sorry, the error message should read, "...the Apple Mobile Device service has not been started."

  • Erased all content on 3G but now won't sync with iTunes. Error states, "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started." I don't want phone service on this old 3G. Just want to use it as an iTouch. Any suggestions?

  • HOW TO FIX HD AUDIO/UNKNOWN DEVICE/DEVICE WON'T START LENOVO H320 Win 7 64-bit

Fix for - HD Audio devices won't start or you can't load correct driver. Lenovo H320 - Win 7 64-bit I-3 processor. 5 series/3400 chipset
Here is a working procedure to fix the problem when you install windows 7 64-bit and can't get the correct drivers installed for the HD Audio devices 1)Realtek AC97 HD Audio device id = HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0662&SUBSYS_17AA3604&REV_1001
and 2)Intel HD Audio device id = HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8086&DEV_2804&SUBSYS_80860101&REV_1000 Regards >>> Sucromatic
For an IBM LENOVO 320 with Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium Version download these drivers to a directory in a second partition to prevent this nightmare from happenning in the future.
1)AC 97 high def audio version
Realtek HDA 2.67found on http://wikidrivers.com/wiki/Main_Page or at www.realtek.comon right of screen on homepage and
    2) Intel HD GRAPHIC and HD Audio version
    Intel GMA 15.22.52.2559 (Vista/7) 14.46.8.5387 (XP)
    found on
    http://wikidrivers.com/wiki/Main_Page.
Select your OS and and whether 32 or 64 bit. I recommend the .exe version as it works very smoothly. Uninstall HD AUDIO DEVICE or whatever it is called maybe "unknown device" with ac97 device ID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0662&SUBSYS_17AA3604&REV_1001." Afterwards install AC 97 HD Audio Driver.
After install reboot and wait till computer completely starts.
Now uninstall Intel HD Graphics or your graphics device. When you get the uninstall box open, select delete the driver software for this device and then OK. When prompted to reboot select NO and Immediately start the install of the Intel GMA driver. Which installs both the Graphics Adapter and the Intel HD Audio. Reboot when finished and all HD Audio devices will be functional (hopefully). You will now have these versions installed. As shown in device manager/device properties/Driver tab
Now uninstall Realtek AC97 driver you first installed to delete annoying Red Lexmark/realtek icon in Notification area (If your computer shows it after reboot) and windows driver update will install a microsoft driver (shown below)that works without the stupid lexmark red icon. See below. You will now have these versions installed. As shown in device manager/device properties/Driver tab
    High Definition Audio Device
    Driver Provider: Microsoft
    Driver Date: 11/19/2010
    Driver Version: 6.1.7601.17514
    Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows
    IntelR) HD Graphics
    Driver Provider: Intel Corporation
    Driver Date: 1/10/2012
    Driver Version: 8.15.10.2622
Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher
    Intel (R) Display Audio
    Driver Provider: Intel(R) Corporation
    Driver Date: 8/23/2011
    Driver Version: 6.14.0.3086
Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher
Voila. Now go to intel and run a driver update scan and it will likely correctly identify your Intel pieces and offer downloads for any that are not current. Good Luck!

it is a user to user forum without any intervention from apple information-wise.I think this question appears and being discussed in another thread
