please help me, my blackberry curve has been working perfectly fine (everything network and wifi connection are working great) since i got it but all of the sudden when i connect to our wifi at home i noticed that the wifi logo on the upper screen is grayed out. i checked the manual and it says: device is connected to to a wifi network but does not have access to Blackberry services over wifi connection. i dont know what to do, i tried the hard reset (removed batt for 1 min while phone is on and put it back in) i also tried to remove the wifi profile and added it back up but still nothing seems to work, my service provider has BB services available on my phone, i can received BBM, pushed email, use FB on my phone using my network but i cant use my wifi to browse.. what should i do? help me please!

With a PC, the Windows Firewall and/or the anti-virus software will sometimes block an attempted Internet connection.
Check both applications to see if you can find a "blocked" item and then take steps to "allow" the connection.
If still no luck, temporarily disable the wireless security for a short period to see if the PC can connect that way. If it can.....then you know it is security related issue.
See if the PC can connect using a setting like WPA-PSK-TKIP. The equivalent Apple setting would be WPA/WPA2 Personal.

192 is local address within your network.
Unless the adddress is of a server that can reolve URL names to ip addresses you wont be able to load an external web page.
You can check what it should be by checking your router status page.
Or if you have an iOS device check under settings, W-Fi, select the network your attched to, then see what is next to DNS.

I understand that the OP failed to do research. But then, I wasn't replying to the OP. I was replying to Chris. I have Verizon. I can talk and use data at the same time with my Droid Maxx. Therefore, the problem is not just with the network. It would be technically possible for an iPhone to do that on Verizon/Sprint if Apple had chosen to use a different chip, such as the kind other phone manufacturers have elected to use.
Of course, this is probably all irrelevant to the OP's issue. It was merely a point of clarification, especially for those people who are used to being able to use both voice and data at the same time on Verizon. When they switch to an iPhone, they are often surprized at the limitation.

Ok, well if you're sure that there are shared folders on your PC's, then try this:
Click somewhere on desktop, so you're in finder > Go > Connect to Server (shortcut to all of this is Command + K) then type in: smb://ipaddresshere
eg:
smb://192.168.1.7
Then either connect as guest, or login with the PC's (not your mac's) username & password.

You might want to try resetting your router and your modem - just unplug the cords, leave them unplugged for about 3-5 minutes and then replug the modem and then the router in that order.
This may or may not correct your problem - call back if it doesn't.

people repport that apple products in general I believe have problems with support for the outdated encryption type called wep encryption which is also pretty useless and easy to break
if you use that try disabling it or changing to wpa encryption
if you use MAC address filtering in your router then you need to add the appletv's MAC address to the positive list

I just got new router and had to reset my network settings on IPad. Since then, my ipad will connect onto the main home network but will not attach to my extension booster (netgear) which is linked to the home network. It will also not attach to networks outside my home that it has previously worked with. i have reset the settings again, powered off and on again, updated to the latest IOS update, but nothing is working. Did you try forgetting the network and starting all over again?
Settings>WiFi>Network Name>Tap the blue arrow>Forget this Network. Restart your iPad and then try joining again.
Try rebooting your router. Even though everything else may be connecting to your Network, it might help with the iPad. Unplug the router for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again.
Reset Network settings on the iPad?
Settings>>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. You will have to start all over again, Tap WiFi in the settings, find your network and enter the password.

My collegue who also has an Ipad can access the same wifi with ease, so it must be something to do with the settings on my machine, although checking the two machines, there appears to be no difference in the settings.

My experience with hotel wifi is that it's an open, and unsecured, connection, but unless you agree to their terms on a launch page, you can't go any further or connect. Sometimes I need to force safari to come up and even make it go to a page, to trigger the auto load of the 'agree to our terms' page.
Unless your machine is work provided so maybe could be blocked from unsecured net access?

Apple can do nothing.
You cannot block it from being "registered".
If you did not set up find my ipad before it was lost, then there is nothing you can do but change your passwords.

Make sure location is set correctly
DNS should be on auto (settings - general - network)
Try ethernet
Signal strength on device won't account for issues, you would need a network report from istumbler, netstumbler or similar. This will show accurate signal strength along with noise and nearby networks

Problem: airport extreme connects to network, but does not communicate

I have been able to communicate via wireless networks using my airport extreme-enabled iBook G4... that is, until Thursday. (Or about Thursday... maybe it was Wednesday. Somewhere around then.)
Now I can connect to a wireless network, but I am unable to communicate across the connection. ping fails. Web sites don't load--it appears the DNS lookup fails. Curiously, if I look at the network activity in the Activity Monitor I see a bunch of little bits of data getting sent and received, generally in the range of 20-100 bytes per second, though there is no obvious need for network activity. (Maybe my computer is attempting to get DNS info and such?) When things were working previously, a quiet system meant no network activity.
Further muddying the waters, I can connect and communicate via wireless networks I had not connected to prior to Thursday. Today I went to three different wireless hotspots I had not connected to before, and was able to connect and communicate--everything worked fine at all three. But if I connect to any wireless networks I had previously connected to before Thursday, I get the problem I describe above.
I did not knowingly make any networking changes on Thursday. I did, however, run Disk Utility's "Repair file permissions" around that time, due to problems with iTunes 7. Today I ran "Repair disk" in Disk Utility but no problems were found or fixed.
My best guess is that some airport settings were corrupted for existing wireless networks on my computer sometime on Thursday, and this corrupted data is persisting. However, I have not been able to identify where that data would be.
I deleted com.apple.airport.preferences.plist and NetworkInterfaces.plist in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration, but that didn't fix the problem. (Of course, when Mac OS recreated these files it could have been from corrupted cached data, I suppose.)
Dial-up access works fine.
One last thing, I'm getting the following error message in /private/var/log/system.log when I connect to a network:
Sep 22 20:49:41 localhost mach_init[2]: Server 2427 in bootstrap d03 uid 0: "/usr/sbin/lookupd": exited as a result of signal 1 [pid 515]
However, I get the same message when I connect via dial-up (which is working OK), so I don't think that's related.
