Diary/journal application

I'm looking for an application for my iPhone and iPad that is a journal or diary application like penultimate that syncs between my iPhone and iPad as well as it allows for me to actually use a keyboard to type and still allows me to drawl and add pictures. Maybe even prompts me during the day to add to it?
If anyone knows an application like this please let know!
Thanks all!!

blue sky,
You might take a look at viJournal from

  • IDCS3 DIary/Journal - Adding dates

I've hunted and hunted and now I've come to asking help, I have already a small calendar and calendar based pages from Exchange but I'm struggling to find anything to help me, I want to create a diary/journal but I don't know how to add all dates for a year on each page, can this be done in ID?

Actually, your best bet is probably to get an InDesign Calender Script. There's quite a few good ones out there.
Most of these scripts will automatically generate a calender grid, a page for each month, and automatically input the correct day number on the correct day of the week.

  • Workspace manager to journal application tables?

    Hi,
I know nothing about WSM. We need to provide a full audit
trail (journalling) for certain tables in a new application (Oracle 9i, Appl server 10g).
We were planning to generate this using API generator in Designer.
Question is - could WSM do this less painfully?.
If historical data is stored, can user reports be defined against it (Users may need to run queries against changes made to application data).
We would be grateful for any info.

    Hi Steve,
I'm the Product Manager. Feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] to discuss your auditing requirements.
In general, yes, Workspace Manager can maintain a history of changes to a table.
It can make a timestamped copy of a row every time a change to it is committed. The GotoDate command allows the user to set session context to a particular point in time to see the database (including the changed rows) as it was at that time.
DML doesn't need to change (unless hints are needed to optimize performance). All historical copies of the rows are kept in the same table as the original row.
    Best Regards,
    Bill

  • Keeping a personal diary/journal

I'm working on an exciting project and I want to document what happens every day. Is iCal the best format? If so, is there a special software for journal/diary writing? Thanks.

    ark - 1,
I would recommend something like MacJournal : Mac journaling & Mac blog software., instead of iCal.

  • Diary / journal app

I'm looking for an droid app similar to the Iphones MOMENTO - its a journal diary app that connects my journal entries w/ my photos, my facebook profiles, it has tagging capability, rate moments, backup and export.  Any suggestions welcomed.

Someone will eventually mention Evernote, might as well be me. Evernote is a pretty universal note-taking app, works across pretty much all platforms including Mac, iOS, and has a web interface as well. You can get plugins for specific tasks, not sure if a diary plugin is out there. You can include photos, pdf's, webpages pretty much whatever external content you would like.
I use Evernote for everything from storing important files to keeping my daily journals.
Yes, it is free in the basic version which should handle your journalling needs, you can buy an upgraded version with more storage and bandwidth if you got to that point.

  • Cannot access iphoto to import photo's to Day One journal application

The Day One option to attach a photo will not give me the option to open iphoto to import photos.  It offers me Adobe Reveal, ichat icons and iPod Photo Cache - none of which I use.  I am using the 1.7.2 version of Day One on my MacBook Pro, version 10.7.5.

  • Are there any type of wanderlust/travel/future life goals type of diary apps?

I am trying desperately in the app store on my mac to find a diary like application that isn't just about journalism.
I have these future goals to go back to school, become a midwife and travel but I can never seem to keep these goals, especially if I'm not writing them down. It would be awesome to find an app that does something like this. I remember seeing something similar to my description a loooooong time ago in the app store on my phone and I haven't been able to find it since because I forgot the name of it. I just want a diary i can put my goals into and update them.
(If i can't find one, i may have to learn about coding and start my own app!)
I doubt I'll get very much help and I really hope my question doesn't get pulled down for being moronic or a waste of time.
I'd pay big money for app that can help me manage my life goals and travel goals!
    Thanks in advance!

  • Where can I find out how to use the Journals feature in iPhoto for iPhone

I am new to Apple Support Communities. Not sure if this is the place that will help me work with Journals. • Creating an online journal

I would like to create an online journal so that my users can
sign in to get a username and password and then keep a daily
diary/journal. Does anyone know of a good plugin that I could use
to do this or a good place to start?

I would agree with Pete here that Blog software is the best
option. This is what I was going to lead into.
    http://wordpress.org/ - Wordpress
is probably the most common. However, like phpBB forums, it is a
favorite target so keeping this up to date like anything else is
    very important.

  • Options for supporting web toolkit applications

The various changes which have occurred between 10 and 11g are very detrimental to any users developing or supporting applications built with the original web toolkit (not APEX).
In 10g, you could download the database and companion CD and end up with a database and http server with mod_plsql running in no time flat.
In 11g, the database install is just as easy, but the http server install requires "Oracle Fusion Middleware Web Tier" which weighs in at a scary 1Gb+ (for a webserver) and assumes you are wanting to run lots of instances across an "enterprise grid". Even finding the error logs for when it doesn't work is hard. I spent a happy 4 hours trying to install it (following the instructions) without success.
So, you think, what are the alternatives.....
    1. You could use the EPG, but the majority of advice is that this isn't suitable for production deployments
    2. You could use the APEX listener, but that doesn't support some of the features: flexible parameters, basic auth, etc
There are a number of things Oracle could do to rectify this
    1. Open source mod_plsql. If they are not going to develop it further then let someone else do it for them
    2. Maintain backwards compatibility with mod_plsql in the APEX listener - not every application is APEX
Hopefully someone from the APEX listener team can say "yes, we'll be making the apex listener compatible with all mod_plsql features in the next release". Fingers crossed...
This was expressed more eloquently by John Flack here

Thanks for the favorable mention of my blog - I updated that entry with a later one based on the Release Candidate version of the Apex Listener. I haven't given the production version a really good try yet, but what I've seen is pretty close to what I saw in the early adopter versions, except that the documentation is much better - bravo.
You've named two alternatives to mod_plsql. Here are a few more:
mod_owa: This is similar to mod_plsql, but it works under the generic version of Apache web server, rather than Oracle's customized version, Oracle HTTP Server. It is configured a little differently from mod_plsql and has some variations in the way it supports some of the more advanced features of the PL/SQL Web Toolkit, like flexible parameters. Joe Lennon wrote a blog entry about mod_owa here: http://www.joelennon.ie/2008/12/09/install-apache-mod-owa/.
The base website for mod_owa is: http://oss.oracle.com/projects/mod_owa/dist/documentation/modowa.htm
Thoth Gateway: If you have a Microsoft IIS web server, you might try the Thoth Gateway. Find it here: http://code.google.com/p/thoth-gateway/
DBPrism: This is another JEE based application that I know that some are using. DBPrism was not primarily intended as a mod_plsql replacement, but does do that too. Find it at: http://www.dbprism.com.ar/en/index.html
Please be aware, I haven't tried these (except a brief trial of an earlier version of mod_owa) so I can't vouch for them.

  • Diary-Function for iCal

    Hi!
Since one year I use iCal - and I like it. This year (2011) I want to fill in some diary /journal (?) / Agenda (?) - entries for each day, but I don't know how.
My "private" solution by now: I created a calendar called "journal" and type each day in the header of a whole-day-event in telegram-style.
But I think, that Apple has to offer me a better way.
I hope you will understand my question and forgive me my bad english.
    Frank

    Frank,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I agree that iCal is not suited for a diary function, but there are some third party solutions available. Here are some of your choices:
    1. Mémoires - journal or diary software for Mac
    2. MacJournal | Mariner Software
Viel Glück und frohes neues Jahr.

    Hi,
It is difficult to identify the problem just according to the message you have provided.
please check the Event Viewer, and confirm that if any other related logs. Except for the error message, is there any phenomenon about the problem, such as crush? Or any changes before this problem happened?
You may try to restart the server in safe mode or clean boot, and confirm that if the error prompts again.

  • Windows Journal on iPad

Is the iPad able to run the Windows journal application or something very similar whereby you use a stylus and write on full A4 sized pages? I am used to using an IBM Thinkpad Tablet pc and used Windows Journal daily for recording meetings with clients. The functionality enables very easy retrieval of written notes for your normal file structure. When I asked about this on the high street I was shown an application that looked just like a notebook and a stylus as thick as my finger- no nib!! Other features of the iPad are attractive but it is no use for business for me if I can't achieve what I could in Windows Journal- can anyone advise??? Thank you

Ok, thanks. It sounds as though you use it for different purposes to what I require. I do need something which can accomodate large volumes of A4 written pages- for example I can sometimes write 15-20 pages of A4 in just an hour. Being able to save my notes in a robust filing system, for example based around clients and different projects within each client folder is also important to me. Doesn't sound like I am going to be in luck- I'll probably be heading back to an IBM tablet with Stylus and Windows Journal
