Did anyone else get a brand new mac book pro that came with items already in the favorites tab?
just bought a brand new mac book pro went online and noticed that there were already items saved to favorites, strange things about pumpkin cheesecake.
You could have purchased a refurbished computer.
Take it back and voice your concern and where ever you purchased it from will probably swap it out for you

Brand New Mac Book Pro with defective screen

Does anyone here, purchased a brand new Mac Book Pro 13-inch: 2.9GHz with a defective screen?
I bought mine, Last June 14. I just noticed the defect last June 29 and returned it to where I purchase it at june 30.
There are somewhat 'black smudges' on the left part of the screen. I'm a graphic designer, so i know that this is a big issue for me.
Also, the fact that I'm just using it for 5 times I think, since I bought it, and there's already an issue.
At first, i was battling with the customer service (from where i bought it), They wouldn't want to give me replacement, because I already exceeded their 7 day return policy. But I'm not giving in, so then they just told me, they would send it to apple service.
It took a week for a progress, then I just got a call from Apple, that they didn't saw it either (the defect). Then I told the guy what I saw.
It's only visible with black background and with the lights turned off.
So he called again and told me that he also saw it, and told me that they would replace the Monitor.
I'm new with this, is it normally ok, that they will just replace the monitor? I mean, would it still work properly, now that they've
opened it and replaced only the defective part?
Hope you guys can give me your thoughts.
Thank You.Not sure what part of the world you are in but Apple has a 14 day return policy. But even with the 14 days you exceeded that time limit. So the only option is to replace the defective part and not the whole system. This is standard operating practices for any manufacturer once you have exceeded the return period.

When you plug your iPhone to Mac,click the Summary button and select “Manually manage music and videos".Then iTunes would never delete your original music.

I bought a brand new Mac 27" desktop that came loaded with Adobe CS6. Everything worked like a charm until the hard drive, 1Tb, developed a bad sector and the Apple Store reinstalled a new one as I had extended warranty with them. They recycled the drive immediately (like a fool I didn't ask for it back to get the data off it.) But luckily I have all my data on CrashPlan. I downloaded it and it worked great except I downloaded it to the desktop and not the original location so it got squirrely. I also have an external 1.5Tb drive that I wanted to make bootable so I installed Mavericks 10.9.3 . I then went ahead and installed it on the newly installed drive too.
I think that because I have a new drive Adobe thinks I have a news computer. I bought the 27" Mac brand new from Ebay and it came loaded with software, including CS6. I have a serial number for CS6 but Adobe said it wasn't valid. (I have owned CS2, CS4 and now CS6 which came preloaded onto the Mac by the seller who told me that the software was registered to the Mac???
I am going to re-download the backup but this time to the original location (I still don't think it will work with Adobe. What can I do about this?

IPhoto missing from a brand new mac book pro running on Yosemite
I have a brand new mac book pro, and trying to open iPhoto I receive the message " in order to open iphoto, you need to update to the latest version." However, when I "Search App Store" I receive the message "Not Available, the item you've requested is not currently available in the U.S. store." Does this make any sense? How do I get iPhoto??

Brand new mac book pro very slow
I just purchased a brand new mac book pro 13" with and i5 processor, 2.3ghz, 4 gb ram, running osX Lion. I bought it to replace my 2008 mac book pro that had a failing hard drive and a bad logic board. So i bought this new mac book 2 days ago, set it up and everything was great until i went to surf the net. My internet is so slow, webpages take ages to load about 5 minutes or more, same with videos (like on youtube). So I tried my old mac book and the internet was running great on that one, same with my roomates old macbook, my boyfriends pc and numerous other devices connected to my wifi (a nook, a tablet, and an iphone). So i checked my network settings everything was good, its was functioning fine according to network diagnostics. After googling this I switched my dns to googles public dns which made no difference either. When plugged directly into the router via ethernet the internet surfs like a champ. If the wireless internet preforms like this my new macbook is somewhat useless to me .Help! What could be the problem? Or did apple just really screw up the airport on these new macs? My old mac was a beast speed wise, i firgure the new mac should put the older ones to shame. What gives?
I suggest use the ethernet cable. They're much faster to transfer. You only need to connect your imac and mbpr directly to each other using the cable. There is no need for the wifi if you connect the ethernet cable.

my brand new mac book pro, which I've only turned on about 20 times since I purchased it, start making a loud constant clicking noise today -- it sounded like a combination of a computer notification tone and a weird druming sound. What's the problem?
Is this thing a piece of junk? My MacBook Air is running fine. I've literally only charged the MacBook Pro battery a handful of times -- it's brand new.At these prices don't screw around. Just call applecare to arrange an appointment at the nearest apple store.

I recently bought a mac book pro and transferred my data from old mac book air. i did have issues transferring but eventually updated all software to new yosemite and that allowed it. subsequently the speed is so slow won't even open normal webpages even though I'm on fibre. i've read the similar posts and i'mnot very technical so they mean little to me. Am i helpable?

Trying to install Deskjet 3054A wireless printing with brand new Mac Book Pro
Hello,
I am trying to set up the wireless printing function on the Deskjet 3054A with a new Mac Book Pro, but not having any luck. When I connect via the USB the printer shows up, but once disconnected there is no communication. I tried to get the updated driver on the HP site, but nothing ever downloaded and it kept taking me to the setup page.
Is this All-In-One compatible with the new Mac OS 10.10 for wireless printing?

Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having some connectivity issues to you Mac 10.10.
Just so you are aware, the printer does not have a full feature software and driver package available for the Mac 10.10 operating system.
You can however try the HP Printer Drivers v3.0 for OS X.

I had a one month old Mac book pro and the hard drive fried! I was down loading a friends wedding pictures when it stopped working and started heating up. I plugged it in and turned it off as it was making a clicking noise. When I turned it back on the was a grey box with a question mark and nothing else. When I took my memory card out the pictures were gone. I took it back to best buy where I bought it and they said it was dead, needed a new hard drive and all my info is lost! Is there any way to get back those irreplaceable wedding pictures?
There are some data recovery programs (software). I would look into that for the images on the card. When files are deleted, the files are still there, just the headers are removed. That being said, a format of the card or new files written to the card can overwrite deleted files.
The physical hard drive could be thousands of dollars to forensically save, with no guarantee.
