Did you all know iOS 5 tips & tricks?

How-To: Hiding Previous App Store Purchases
by Matthew Sims on October 14, 2011
One of the many new features of iOS 5 and iCloud is that you can download previously purchased apps from the App Store without having to sync with your Mac or PC. While the feature really does come in handy, there are times where you may actually want to hide some of them (like you guys who read Cosmopolitan).
For iPhone
Hide on iPhone
First, go to the App Store and tap the Updates tab at the bottom. Next you’ll want to look for the purchased tab, just swipe left to right and a red “hide” button will appear. Tap that and you are done, the purchase is hidden.
From iPad
For iPad
Now for iPad things are essentially the same with just one less step. As you know, iPad users have a purchased tab right at the bottom (no need to enter the updates tab). Just like on the iPhone, once you’re in the purchased tab just swipe left to right on the app you want to hide then click the red hide button.
So there you have it, two incredibly easy ways to hide those purchased apps you may not want everyone to see.

We cannot answer those questions as this time since Apple has not provided that level of detail about the service. At this time there's no way to delete anything from iCloud since it's just purchased content, but that may change. I don't see anything that indicates that playlists will be syncronized in iCloud, only the tracks themselves, but we'll have to wait and see what the full release offers.
Regards.

  • Did you know-? Animation Tips & Tricks

Did you  know that you can animate any object you create in Project ROME – and  that it's easy to do too? Just follow these quick steps (and be sure to  have your timeline showing – View > Show Timeline):
1.Select the object you want to animate
2.Click on the stop watch in the upper left of the timeline
3.Drag the top arrow within the timeline to indicate how long you want the animation to talk place (e.g., 10 seconds)
    4.Animate!
You can drag the selected object to create an animation path, change the object's color or even transparency. Check out this latest video on more about creating animation: http://bit.ly/9m4ug4. Let us know how this works for you and if you have any suggestions or questions along the way!

  • You all know that now some TV Shows have Closed Captions...

Well, I've tried everything, enabled closed captions on Audio & Video menu on ATV2, tried to Airplay the purchased videos with CC from my computer to the ATV, use all my CC TV shows on iCloud (bought from the itunes store), but the fact is that closed captions on TV Shows only appear on the iPod/iPad or on the computer, not on my Apple TV, and it's not only me, some of my friends have this issue too. Any of you also have it or know how to fix it?

    Frank:
I've seen what you mentioned here about incorrect artwork and order displacement in Movies section of Home Sharing in iPad mentioned in other forums as an issue.  Though I'm sorry I don't recall a fix mentioned, just that it seems to be a problem others are experiencing to I thought I'd mention.
Another thing I found useful while exploring other forums is to stop the Movies app in iPad.  To do this, or for any application, hold down the Home button on the iPad until you're at your home screen.  Then double click.  This brings up a list of open running applications and processes on the iPad on the bottom.  Simply hold down on any of these application icons until they start jiggling about.  You will also see a red "-" minus symbol for each one.  Choose Movies to stop it. It then disappears.  Hit the Home button once more to go back to your home screen and re-launch Movies and then Home Sharing.
I haven't edited any of the Movie metadata yet since I had to rebuild my entire library lately after rebuilding a drive the videos were stored on after a failure, so I haven't yet experienced what you have, but would be suprised if I didn't.  TV shows seem fine now, I'm delighted they all finally show up.  TV Shows seem to sort differently and is more sensitive to the metadata than movies from my experience and observation.  The whole thing seems finicky.  But as I continue to use and work with it, my iPad seems somehow to be "learning" my usage behaviour and is gradually sorting itself out.
    Just stay with it.
You've also sold me on the notion of getting an Apple TV2.  I've been interested in buying one since Apple redesigned it.  I've heard good things about it's usage with Home Sharing. I think I'll get one when I get back from Asia next summer.

  • Missing noise reduction feature in iMac 2012, Do you all know if that feature was available in previous iMacs??

I have been having some issues in my iMac 2012, with the noise reduction feature. I have a MBP retina display that in system preferences has the noise reduction feature. However, in the new iMac 2012, I don't see that feature. Plus, I have been having issues with facetime, people that I call are telling me that they hear feedback whenever I talk to them. Does any of you know if the new iMac is supposed to have the noise reduction feature?

I was trying to find the "use ambient noise reduction" option in my new iMac, but in the new iMac I don't have that option. I was wondering if in previous iMacs versions had the "use ambient noise reduction" option available because I have an issue with facetime, people that I am calling are telling me that they hear feedback or static sound and they can't hear me well. I believe that with the "noise reduction" option, that problem will be solved. However, in my iMac, I don't have that option only in my MacBook pro. The reason that I am asking if in previous iMacs versions had that option is because I believe that there might be a bug that Apple needs to fix in order to have that option available in iMac.

  • How did you all get your new alum iMacs so quickly?

As you can see from my profile, it it time for a new Mac! I have been told by various Mac suppliers in my area that they would not get their shipments of alum iMacs until the end of August. I tried to get one through the Apple online store, same release date.
However, since reading this forum, as well as the display forum, I am starting to have second thoughts, due to the calibration and screen quality issues.
Could it be that Apple is delaying shipments now, because they are busy fixing the bugs in the screen?
    Any thoughts? Thanks!

    Thanks for the replies, folks.
+A handful of people who do not actually own a new iMac have generated a large number of posts about glossy screens and color matching between the iMac monitor and paper printing being unsuitable for professional graphics design work. It's a tempest in a teapot as far as the rest of us go.+
I am beginning to agree with this statement! It is easy getting caught in "the tempest" while one is reading all the various posts. It is heartening to read more and more posters having positive experiences with the new iMacs. I am not a graphic artist, designer, nor a professional photographer. I do use iphoto and photoshop to "tweak" my family photos. I also enjoying tinkering with idvd and imovie with my kids. My son especially enjoys making stop action Lego movies! My PowerPC has handled these tasks admirably, yet slowly, so it is time to move on.
I don't rush into any purchase of this sort without extensive research and reading. I obviously get full value out of my computer purchase (10+ years since the last one), and I don't feel the need to buy another computer anytime soon.
Now I just need to decide on the 20" or the 24". Any thoughts?

  • When do you all think or do you all know of a NEW Macbook coming?

I think that there is one coming soon, because they just came out with the new imac, macbook and mini. And I don't want to purchase one now and the new one comes out in the next week????

Nobody wants to buy something and then have a newer, sexier, faster, cheaper model come out shortly afterwards as it makes us feel a bit cheated/stupid. However, buying a notebook is something that should be done by considering your needs and budget and then looking around for the hardware that will best meet them. Some might say a new Windows 7 laptop fits their bill while others would select a Mac product but at the end of the day it's all a very personal decision about perceived value and 'fit'. We could speculate here about when the next Mac notebook will come out but that would be against the Terms and the post(s) would be deleted pretty quickly. Other sites (like the link below) often 'speculate' about when things may or may not appear and they might be valid. From all the news articles lately it seems more likely Apple could bring out something quite new and revolutionary in the near future but whether that would impact upon your purchasing decision or not I just can't say ...

  • Did you know when you type in your email in google your behance pdf resume shows up? This is a security breach!

I typed my email address in Google and my Behance pdf resume shows up with all my information. Did you all know this? This is a security breach in my opinion.

    HI Carol,
Thanks for writing. It looks like you had selected your work experience to be visible to the public, so this is why it was visible online. Now I see that you have your work experience listed as private (other than what you have on your profile), so this should no longer be the case. Let me know if you're still seeing this searh result and what exact google term you searched for it to come up.
    Thanks, talk to you soon!

  • Something cool / did you know

Just wondering did you guys know that you can take a picture of any screen that you happen to be on. All you do when ready to take the picture is to hold down the home button and then press the sleep/wake button. You will hear the shutter sound then the screen will flash. And there you have it. The picture will then be in your camera roll. It work from anywhere in the iPhone, email, games, even video. Have fun and let me know

It may be a "pity" to some, but Apple has been doing this for some time as part of their "green" initiative - significantly reducing the amount of paper sent with their products.
User guides for all products are available as a PDF download and with just about everyone having internet access these days with most people having broadband, not a big deal to locate the appropriate PDF download, download it to your computer, and print it if needed via an available printer to your heart's content.
This isn't a pity to those interested in reducing our footprint on the planet and namely, tree huggers.

How did you get all your points (badges)?
    Was it a hard job?
Or did you already know all the answers by experience so it was easy to help others in sap community forums?
how long did it take to achieve that bronze, silver, gold, platinum star you proudly show now?

    Was it a hard job?
Yes in the sense many members who posted the question dont have the basic courtesy of closing their threads with proper comments as to which suggestion has helped them nor do they reward appropriately.
did you already know all the answers by experience
Yes definitely, only with the experience you can guide the members in a right path.
how long did it take to achieve that
    Couple of years

  • I5 vs i7, did you wish you had got the other?

    Hi everybody,
I'm going out to get a new 27" iMac today and I have a final couple of questions:
    1. Did you wish that you bought the other (i5 or i7) and why?
    2. Has anybody played any PC games (Modern warfare 2 in particular) in bootcamp, VM, Parallels?
I'm trying to downsize my computers, I have a couple of PC, Windows Home Server, and I home built game machine (kind of a hobby building and playing). I also have a 17" Macbook Pro that I love, got it a little aver a year ago and I love it. I'm only a moderate game player, but I do like to play to relax, but as you all know, not all the popular games get to Macs in a timely manner.
Everything I've read says that the i5 is a great processor in the iMac, but just looking for a couple of opinions.
Hurry, I'm leaving to buy soon!
    Thanks, Mark

Computers are so far ahead of the normal software applications, including gaming systems.
Don't count on it. My 2008 vintage 3.06 GHz iMac with a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS graphics card was the high end of that model, but even the day after I bought it, I could bring it to its knees running XPlane with most of the graphics enhancements enabled at a moderately high screen resolution. Game & simulation makers push the envelope as far as it will go.

  • How did you get Archlinux mirrored ?

  • Did You Know: Folders in iOS 7

Did you know that now with iOS 7, you not longer have a limit to the amount of apps you can have in 1 folder??  Previously you could only have 9 apps per folder but now that limit has been lifted!
Try and place as many of your favorite apps into one folder and see how many you can have in one folder
    Try it now!

Mine does not. Is there a setting somewhere that I have missed? When I close an app in a folder the folder closes and I'm back on the desktop.
