Difference - transport question

Hi guys,
I collected a query and on the right side for some query elements I saw the property "is existentially required by ___" and for some I saw "is required by ____".
_____ is techn. name of the report which is same. Whats the difference between two. Also, there is no name for transport request or transport holder request. Is it safe to transport this query alteast in terms of hold on elements.

May be someone collected the Query for transport, but they may not create the request for some rreason..
If the request is already created when u try to create a request it will show the existing request number for that query rite...
If its not the above then u can create a transport request.

As you must be aware, Questionnaires are updated from a Recruiter start page in the front end which cannot be saved in a change request.
At least Iu2019m not aware of any other way to move the Questionnaire details across clients.
I know that it is quite a bit of a task to repeat the activity of maintaining questions and response in questionnaire/s across clients, particularly When you have to maintain big questionnaires (with lots of questions & multiple responses).But As it is , Process templates, Questionnaires have been considered as a recruiters day-to-day administration task in SAP which has to be done from the front end even in live environment

Copy Function Group to New Name: Transport Question

When I did this I only see in the transport Function Group with the Function Group Name under it. I would have expected to see all of the objects but I guess not?
I suppose everything will go under thge Function Group name? ie. Includes, Function Modules, etc.?

When I see a thread title like this, the first question I think is "Why copy the function group".
Copying a complete function group leaves your system very open to future data corruption and other problems as patches etc change the code in the original group but do not get reflected in your copy. A repair or enhancement to the original object has the advantage that SPAU will highlight any new versions from SAP allowing you to confirm that your change is still needed.
Another option is to create a custom function that calls the standard code with customer specific pre and post processing. If both the standard and custom function are needed, then including logic based on transaction code, calling report, etc can handle this.
It is interesting to work on the upgrade of a system where there has been significant copying of SAP code - you compare the "Z" version with the original SAP code in the pre-upgrade system and nearly always find differences due to OSS notes etc that were applied without thinking of the customer copy.

PSA Deletion Process in Process Chains Transport Question

I am working on investigating a method of deleting PSA Requests this will be a stand alone process so no loads will be done in this process chain. My question I cannot use the Object Type of InfoPackage or DTP since these objects wont be in the Process Chain leaving me PSA Table option but since I will be developing this in Dev and transporting through environment into prod how will this be handled since PSA tables change from system to system? Does the system automatically translate it for me or will the value stay the same?

System will automatically identifies the table in quality and then in Production system. You do not have to worry. I had same question and I tested it with transporting the Process chain from developement to quality. In quality system automatically identified the table corresponding to data target/Master data.

Edge Transport Questions

Existing Exchange 2013 SP1 install with 1 DAG and 2 members. We are thinking about deploying an edge server but have some questions as to the current setup and benefits of edge in current setup. Our current setup:
2 servers with all roles
1 DAG
McAfee Security for Microsoft Exchange (AV/spam product)
Our Sonicwall does NAT load balancing between the 2 servers. So with an edge transport server, would that negate the existing load balancing?
Our active copy server has a reverse pointer with our ISP. With an edge transport server, we would have to let our ISP know of the new edge server, so it will resolve to the edge server?
Our current servers have McAfee product installed for AV/spam etc. How much does this negate the need for an edge transport server? If we do go with edge transport server, we will need to uninstall McAfee on the current servers and install on the edge server?

A:Exchange Edge could negate the existing load balancing.

A: we suggest A/V install on Edge server when Exchange edge deploy, then we could disable A/V on internal Exchange server.
3.How are logs handled on the edge server? Will we have to search multiple servers for logs are can we consolidate the logs?
A: we could backup it.

Urgent BWD-BWQ transport question

Unfortunate i delete the info object from C/S, T/S,T/R,U/R,ODS and I/Cube.. now i want to transport the same above the Structures from BWD-BWQ is't posible for this, If posible then what is procedure for transport help me guys....

Hi DST,
If you have the same oject available in BWD the u can create a new CTS , include the object in question and retransport or if u know the request u used to transport this object previously to BWQ then u can re import the same request again to BWQ ....need not worry abt other objects in the request.

Simple Transport Question

Hi,
Let's say I made changes to a table and released from Dev client to Unit testing client for testing and then used scc1 to pick it up there. I realize that i have to make some further changes to table in dev client, so i repeat the process and save under a new transport. This happens a few times. Now I have 7 transports for same table. My question is do i need to release ALL 7 to QA server once i am done with unit testing? Or does the very last transport contain all the previous changes. I am confused please help.

Ok I see what you are saying.
Here is how I did it.
Added Rows X and Y in transport 1 and released to unit testing client.
Deleted row X and added Z in transport 2 and released to unit testing client.
Added A and B in transport 3 and released to unit testing client.
So what you are saying is I will end up losing Y, X will still display and Z would not be added?
See the reason I keep saving to new transport is because once I release a transport I cannot see where I can add/modify to that transport again. Am I not looking at the right place? This is why I end up having so many transports. Is there way around this? I mean the only way I can unit test is if I transport and then I find inconsistencies I have to change my data again. I think everyone faces this issue. But does everyone have dozens of transports in the end? Is my process wrong.

SE54 - Recording Routine Radio Button - Transport Question

Greetings!
We have an issue in our development system where in T-Code SE54 the Recording Routine radio button selection was changed for a particular table so it's affecting one of our custom transactions.
We are looking to change the setting but there is some uncertainty around if anything else needs to be done. Is it just a change of the radio button setting and then transporting to our QA environment or would there be any additional steps involved (activation, etc)?

Transport Question

Can someone explain me TRansport using File system please ?. I have some links to other postings on this subject.
My Q is
We will export XI objects at Software Component Version level. When you import the same in Target IR, Do we have to create Software component in SLD before we do import?. How does it work?. Can someone please explain. We have brand new system and I need to transport from Dev to QA and then to Prod eventually. So right now there are no Software components defined in QA. we have centalized SLD and Dev,QA and PROD on one single SLD.

To my knowledge Since centalized SLD for Dev,QA and PROD, So no need to create Software component in SLD before importing to the target IR of QA (Dev to QA transport).

Urgent Transport Question

I have already transported a few cubes, DSO's and info objects from dev to QA system in finance. I have to do the transports for HR. I have a few infoobjects in HR which are there in finance too (like 0country, etc) and which have already been transported during FI transports. What should i do, shud i deselect these info objects when i create request in transport connect or can i transport them too. If i transport them, will there be a conflict.

Don't panic first, There is no need of deselect infoobjects when creating request in RSA1. And if you transport them also there will be no conflict, just remind you that there are Five grouping options are available while transport
Only necessary objects
In data flow before
In data flow afterwards
In data flow before and afterwards
Save for system copy
Example:
If you choose collection mode In data flow before and
afterward, you probably will collect at the InfoProvider level
(Cube or ODS)
If you choose Only necessary objects, you probably will
collect at an InfoObject level
Its always best to choose In data flow before and
afterward,

Collaboration Portal Transport Question

I created a test collaboration room on an Netweaver 7.0 SPS 9 portal and created a tranport package with that content.
Now that the proof of concept is done, we decided that we will go live with the collobartion rooms on the Netweaver 7.0 SPS 19 landscape. I want to IMPORT by transport package from SPS 9 to the SPS 19 version, however, I noticed that the SPS 19 version is missing the BANNER iview.
Should I do the tranport from SP 9 to SP 19 or start from scratch on SP19?

I probably didn't make myself clear. I want to tranport the ROOM TEMPLATE from SP9 to SP19, but the BANNER iview that I used in SP9 is NOT available in SP19. So is it o.k. to transport the content of the template since the IVIEW is missing in SP19.

DTP Transporting Question

Hello,
when I transport the 2 DTP's from Development box to Production system the DTP name are not the same as Development box DTP's Name.
While Importing the transports I am selecting "Over right Originals"
I am not sure why the DTP name's are changed

DTP's Technical name will gets changed when u transport them from one system to the other system.
U dont need to worry about that.. u can very well contibue working using ur DTP's at the target systems.

Difference Compositing Question - Please help me and my daughter

Hey guys, I am trying to do something that is probably very simple but I can not figure it out.
I have 3 clips:
1. 1 minute clip of empty room.
2. 1 minute clip of my daughter running in and hiding.
3. 1 minute clip of my daughter running in and looking for herself.
The goal obviously is to layer the clips so that she appears twice in the same video at the same time. I have tried switching the level that the clips are in and switching which ones I turn the "Composite Mode" "Difference" on but I always end up with a really funky psychedelic result.
What level do I put which clips in?
Do I use clip 1 at all or do I just layer the other two?
Which one(s) do I turn on the "Composite Mode" "Difference" on?
What else I am missing?
I know it is a lot to ask for, but could someone please give me a step by step list of exactly what to do?
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!!

You might want to try a different approach to achieve this effect.
NOTE: was the camera locked-off on a tripod for every shot? Each clip has to be filmed from exactly the same position for this to work.
Firstly... you should be using the Difference Matte (effects>video filters>Key>difference matte) to do what you want to do.
Secondly, it's very difficult to get a good result using the difference matte in DV, there just isn't enough data in the image to get clean crisp results, and you can spend ages trying to get it looking remotely satisfactory... very frustrating... (That's a major assumption... that you are using DV...?)
Have you tried using a 4-point (or 8-point) garbage matte? Does the image of your daughter 'looking', ever cross over the back-ground of your daughter 'hiding'?

Hyper Transport Question on Diamond Plus

I just want a conformation about the Hyper Transport Configuration on my K8N Diamond Plus. I have my Opteron 170 running at 2.75ghz (FSB 305 x 9x CPU multiplier). In the Hyper Transport Configuration I have everything set to 600Mhz (LDT to C51D, C51D to Nvidia Frequency, & CK804 to Nvidia Frequency). Is this correct? If not, what needs to be set to what?

keep 600mhz like stick said,(915) all others (LDT to C51D, C51D to Nvidia Frequency, & CK804 to Nvidia Frequency) setup to the max(16x16) 1000Mhz, works fine here.
