Different apple ID when updating

So I go to update my apps and then it tells me to enter an apple ID password to an account that's not mine, it's my husbands. The only thing I can think of is that I backed up my Iphone to his mac. How can I stop that from happening? My apple ID on my phone shows my own actual apple ID.

Those applications have his Apple ID stored inside them. This can't be changed without deleting and then redownloading them, which may require repurchasing paid ones.

  • Wrong Apple ID when Updating App in App Store

When I try to update some apps on my iPhone through the App Store, it's requesting the password for the wrong apple ID. The apple ID it is requesting the password for belongs to a family remember.
I tried the following suggested solution:
    1) Logout of App Store & iTunes
    2) Delete the app that is requesting credential for the wrong apple id when updating
    3) Go to App Store and reinstall the app using the correct apple ID
This solution only works temporarily. When in the future if the app has an update again, it's requesting the wrong apple id again.
I think one possible issue could be that I am syncing the iPhone to the same computer that of my family member.
*Please note, do NOT ask me to sync to another computer. This is not possible .All iOS devices in my family are manged, backed up, and sync on one computer.
*My iPhone is iPhone 4S running iOS 7
*Other iOS devices are iOS 8

You'e got a mess on your hands. Let's see if this helps.
First, that app, and possibly others that you might not have noticed, were downloaded with a different Apple ID that the rest of your apps. Of course, apps and other content are forever tied to the apple ID used to purchase or download them. You didn't say where you are deleting the app, but it sounds like you're doing so on the device, but not on the computer. If that's the case, when you sync with the computer, you may be replacing the app on the device with the other from a different Apple ID.
I would suggest deleting the app completely from ALL devices, including the computer. Be sure you are logged in with the Apple ID used to download all the other apps and get it again from the App store through iTunes on your computer. Then sync it back to all devices that use it.
In general, this can now mostly be avoided if all your devices run iOS 8. Read about Family Sharing: http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/family-sharing/

  • How can I get my iPhone to stop promting me to enter my wife's Apple ID when updating apps? I've checked settings for iTunes

How can I get my iPhone 6 to stop prompting me to enter my wife's Apple ID when updating apps? I have verified in settings that my acct is listed in itunes & App Store, as well as icloud. i can download new apps fine. Have shut down phone and re-powered, have tried plugging into my iMac while signed into my iTunes acct. Can't figure out what to do next?

Is the comp a synced device to your apple ID and approved as an active device for this synchronization?
Just cloud the sync once, activate the comp to your apple I'd in iTunes, ensure all software is up to date, turn on home sharing between the devices and you can reinstall the apps from the apple id purchase history via download.
You basically cleaned out the canonical data apple uses to validate all that, which was backup data. Like iOS devices have the purchased option on the App Store now, syncing the devices via the home sharing and properly activating them will give your comp the purchased cloud and free up 10gs of space on the precious solid states smaller drives.
    Hope that helps...

  • Sign up with different apple ID to update an app

I want to update an application from the app store, but when I clicked the "update", i'm asked to sign in with an apple ID that was used to make the first purchase of the app. anyone knows what does that mean?since I never make any purchase with different apple ID. i just changed the country as i moved to The U.S. two weeks ago (the former country/region was Indonesia). Does it cause a problem?thanks a lot

Yeah but I always use the same apple ID since the first time I made a purchase. I just changed my country from Indonesia to United States.
So what should I do? I've tried to change the country to Indonesia but the result was the same. I still could not update any app in my mac.
    thanks

  • Had to change Apple ID  when updating to IOS 5; all my apps are still associated with old ID

I was forced to change my Apple ID to an email address when updating to IOS 5; now I have lots of problems because all my apps are associated with my old ID (for some reason they did not update to the new ID name).  How do I fix this?

  • A second apple ID when updating itunes?

I just updated my itunes software, and now it's telling me that I'm signed in under a different apple ID and would I like to synch? Why is it doing this? I didn't sign in under another apple ID-I only have one.

Settings>Store...tap the ID shown...sign out...sign back in with your ID.

  • Why do I have to enter 2 different passwords  to 2 different apple IDs when I have to update an app

Whenever I click on the update button I have to enter my current Apple ID password then it starts updating. But then it asks for the password to  my old Apple ID. So I enter that password then it just stops updating and I have to do the same thing over again. It. Just goes in a big loop and I can't update any of my apps. It's driving me crazy. Please help.

Because some of the applications you're updating are associated with the old Apple ID. This can't be changed without deleting them and then downloading them from the new one, which may require repurchasing paid applications.

  • Lost Apple ID when updating

I have Iphone 4 that I recently updated to latest operating system.  When I did this I lost the Apple ID I had assigned to this phone and it picked up the Apple ID I have for the computer.  I want them separate, but when I try to go back to my old phone ID I get error message "This email is already linked to an Apple ID"  It is!  Mine!  But I cannot get it back.  Can amyone help?

You best bet is to just plug in into the computer you normally sync with and set it back up.  You won't be able to restore your backup because the backup will be for an older version of iOS.

  • IBooks pulls up my sisters apple id when updating?

I bought my iPad while i was deployed to Afghanistan, and my sister was nice enough to set it up for me, I've had no trouble until recently when i tried to update my iBooks app. I click the update button but it pulls up her Apple id to sign in when it should be mine. this only happens on iBooks. How can I fix this issue?

Each app is tied to the account used to downloaded it. Thankfully iBooks is a free app so, provided you backup your books to an iTunes library first, you can delete the current version, then install a fresh copy of iBooks acquired via your account.

  • IPad 2 asks for wrong apple ID when updating apps.

My Dad let a friend borrow my iPad for a couple days. A few days later I tried to update my apps, but it was asking for my dad's friend's email password. I don't know what he did but every single app that needs to update is now under his apple ID. (even the ones downloaded under my account) When I check what account the apps were downloaded from they say my email, but when I try to update it, I'm asked for his password. It's really fusturating, and I've seen a few discussions with this problem but It doesn't help.
I've already tried to sign out of iTunes and back in but it didn't work
Restarting the iPad did nothing either.
I'm using an iPad 2 with iOS 5.1.1
If someone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.

You're right... I don't understand and it is Weird... Because...
Any App or Download Obtained with a Particular Apple ID is Tied to that Apple ID.
    Try this...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of the Account... > Settings  >  Store  >  Apple ID  =  Sign Out.
Perform a Reset and try again.
Reset... No Data or Settings will be lost...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

  • Wrong Apple ID when updating apps.

I have a MacBook Pro that was purchased back in 2009. I recently had some issues with it, but had it taken in and the problems resolved. I noticed, though, that when I wanted to update some apps from the App Store, that the wrong Apple ID was automatically signed in, prompting me to fill in the password. I have only ever used my Apple ID, but the one that keeps popping up with App Store is one I never even heard of, one I have never used before. Is there anyway to change the Apple ID? I have feeling the email belongs to someone from the Apple Store where I got it fixed. (The email that pops up on the prompt is light colored gray and whenever I try to click on the Apple ID to delete it, it won't let me.) Below is a screenshot of the prompt I am referring to.

Delete those applications and then download them from your Apple ID.

My apple ID been disable for the past 3 days. i followed the direction of changing my apple ID and password on i=tune account also i changed the icloud account and my apple id is still disable. hoping you could help me out to activate my account. thank you and have a good evening...

All apps are DRM protected & tied to the account used to originally obtain them. They cannot be updated using another iTunes account/Apple ID, nor can they be transferred to another iTunes account/Apple ID. You'll have to contact iTunes support, explain the situation & request they add your apps to the download queue of your new Apple ID:

  • Use different Apple ID to update apps?

My apple ID is an old email address from an internet service provider that no longer exists.  I have no way to check the verification email they want to send.  I have created a new appple id using my new email address.  How can i get my iphone 3gs to verify through the new apple id?  any help would be greatly appreciated!  I have changed the >Store settings to the new ID, but it still asks for the old one.

    You can't.
All 3rd party apps - all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account that was used to download the apps. Doesn't matter if you no longer use that email account or address any more - you just need to know the password for the iTunes account associated with that email address which can be different from the password for the email account. I believe you can add a different email address for correpsondence with an existing iTunes account without having to create a new iTunes account.
