Different Dialog options

I was wondering why Apple doesn't conform to it's own naming conventions. In most apps including Finder there is a "move to trash" option... However, in Mail the option is not there reverting to a "windows style" Delete option. It would seem that they should all be one or the other....

View menu -> Customize Toolbar in the Finder also says "Delete" for the Red O with a slash through it as one of the customizable options. So it would appear only the Finder contextual menu and main menu say move to trash.

Can't get correct Print Dialog options when installing Epson 3800

Hi,
I am certainly not an expert at Mac OS. I have exhausted all my options on getting the Epson 3800 driver installed correctly. I am very thankful for any help since I have been working on this issue for 4 days.
I connected my Epson 3800 to my PowerPC via USB. The proper driver shows up on the "About this Mac" window under printers. I added the printer through the "Print & Fax" option. I select to use the 3800 printer option for the Selected Printer for the Print Dialog. However, when I use print in any application (Text Edit, Photoshop CS3) I only have the following options available in the pulldown below the Presets box:
Copies & Pages
Layout
Scheduler
Paper Handling
Color Sync
Cover Page

I have no PDF button available on the panel. I should have about 3-4 more items on the list (e.g. Print Settings). Also the driver being used doesn't show up on Print Dialog.
I can get different settings with my cheap HP Officejet 4300 All-in-one printer.
I've reinstalled the OS a couple times. I've reinstalled the driver many times. Sometimes there is a Epson USB option available from the More Printers button in Add Printers and sometimes not. I've also tried installing with Ethernet and got the same result - shorter Print Dialog options.
I have printed to the printer without using any advanced options. However, this greatly limits the capabilities. The printer appears to be talking to the computer - I can get ink levels displayed on the screen.
I've been walked through the setup process by Epson technical support twice but they were stumped. Looking for any suggestions or areas to investigate. I'm really baffled and I've spent hours on it.

The PPD File version is listed as 1.0
I tried the safe boot option. You weren't kidding about taking a while. I thought my Mac was trying to take off with all the fan noise. :o) However, it still didn't work - no PDF button.
I did the printer utility reset but that didn't seem to work either.
I tried the shareware you recommened. However I got the same result. Perhaps I should restart? This is the output from it:

Advance with dialog option not working

Hi All ,
   I'm getting an error whenever I'm executing a particular branch of the workflow .
The workflow has one User decision box , in which if user selects "Reject Option" , another work items needs to be executed which will dispaly a popup window . For this I have used "Advance with Dialog" option .
   These things were working fine in the Dev. server but when we transported it to Quality server , it started giving an error which was "There is no chief position for <pos. no.>" .
   But when I debugged the same WF through transaction SWUS , i didnt come accross such value . I'm not able to figure it out what is the exact problem ?
   Any inputs ?

Hello Sonu,
Please do an auth check immediately after the decision (SU53). The first agent determination is done by either the system or the previous user. However with advance with dialog, the next agent evaluation is done by the user who performed the decision. It is quite usual for QA system's userID's to have different auths to dev.
Another alternative is not to use the rule for the rejection step, thats to use a container element PreviousAgent to pass the actual agent of your decision to step into the following step.

What kind of profiles are involved when printing output from an application in which case? The manual is very unspecific about this
For example:
Under which circumstances is the profile specified under Manual Color Management in the Driver Properties used? And is it the only correction applied under those circumstances?
What profile is being applied when "ICM Handled by Printer" is chosen in the Printing Preferences?
Under which circumstances are the Color Themes specified under the Color Tab used, and under which circumstances are they ignored?
I am completely confused an would appreciate any explanation.

How to switch to a complete different dialog/panel?

Assume I need for a Flex app two completely different dialog panels:
1.) Panel A with a couple of buttons, entry fields, checkboxes,...
2.) Panel B with a big listbox and a few buttons at the bottom.
So when the user clicks in Panel A on a certain button some cumputations were made and the result presented in Panel B.
First question: How do I design a second Panel in Flex Builder? Is a new (different) mxml file required?
I found no "create new panel" or similar menu.
Second question: How can I switch fron the display of Panel A to the display of Panel B?

You could use a ViewStack and create separate files or keep them in
the same file, or use viewStates and have them at the same file

Modelling different workflow-options

Hi,
There is a wiki which tells us the different work-flow options you can use:
SAP Business Workflow,
Guided Procedures
Collaboration tasks
ccBPM
etc.
Question1: is the a comprehensive tool to model these different altogether or do we need SAP Business Workflow's own modelling tool, UML for guided procedures, ? for Collaboration tasks and BPMN for BPEL separately (I hope it's not...).
Question 2: How does ARIS EPC's relate to this: the EPC is used for business-modelling. This should be the starting point for configurating different workflow-options, (using different models?).

I've nothing to hide but that quote was taken from an internal SAP mail so it wasn't polished for forum publication.
Just to clarify - I agree with your description of the layers.
I believe that a bpx working in an SAP environment should be aware of the tools (and approximate capabilities) at their disposal as well as basic functionality in the underlying business components deployed.
I believe that any question along the lines of "how do you do this with..tool A" is definitely not for the bpx forum. It should go in the relevant tools forum. Seeing as most of these posts are related to SAP Business Workflow or BAM or XI then they should go in the SAP NetWeaver BPM forum. There is also a CAF forum for guided procedures and a Visual Composer forum for VC and other forums for the other tools (such as BI). I.e. No need to create a new forum, just direct these tool posts to the tools forums.
I don't know whether BPMN or UML can really be understood by the business experts. In my experience white-boarding and flow-charts work pretty well but maybe the business experts have become more process savvy (which is why we want to offer certification).
Experience in a process automation project is a must, and knowledge about why this process is being done in such-and-such a way (e.g. 6-Sigma understanding) is also a must.
The BPX can reach level 1 from either level 1 or level 3. Philip Kisloff's BPX article is an excellent demonstration of level 3. Yes, he did use workflow to solve the problem but he had his bpx glasses on when he wrote the article.

Urgent !!! - 'Advance with Dialog' option with Enterprise Portal - Reg

Hi Gurus,
I have the following requirement. My system is Ecc 6.0 When the user rejects an expenses report, he/she needs to put the comments for which i have a custom method to pop-up a box for entering the comments. I have this task with 'Advance with Dialog' option. This works fine. But, when the workitem is executed through Enterprise Portal, the 'Advance with Dialog' option is not working and the user is receiving a separate witem(after refreshing his UWL) for this task. This is not what i want.
Can anybody tell me how to do it, IF it is POSSIBLE.
I went through SDN and found Raja sekhar's blog below where it was told this option is not available as in Dec, 2005.
I was just wondering if anybody can tell if this option still doesn't work in E.P ?
If not, can you tell me anyother way to get this functionality work. I need some pop-up for entering the reasons for rejection.

the later versions UWL supports a property called UserDecisionNote for the UserDecisionHandler action: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/7a/df014b037141ca9afc6433ed42b519/frameset.htm
With this functionality, you can achieve what you need (= UWL asks for the rejection reason immediately after clicking on Reject).

I had the same problem. Someone here told me to make sure my earbuds were in securely. Push until they click in place. It solved the problem. The music still plays even though the screen goes to sleep. Hope this helps.

Print dialog options in case sensitive file system

Since changing the file system running Lion and Mountain Lion from Mac OS Extended (Journaled) to Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled), certain features in print dialogs have disappeared.
Particularly the option to print notes with slides in Microsoft Powerpoint are gone. Also, when choosing to print only 1 (or more, but not all) of multiple pages in Microsoft Word, the printer will nevertheless print all pages.
This problem occurs on printers of different brands, i.e. HP, Lexmark, Brother.
I was able to determine this problem by reproducing the issue on a cleanly installed Macbook Pro with OS X 10.8 formatted as Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled) vs a cleanly installed Macbook Pro with OS X 10.8 formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled), not Case-sensitive.
Has anyone else had the same problem and maybe a solution?

I just fixed this on my Mac. It is a bug in Microsoft Office... the Printer Dialog Extension (PDE) for Powerpoint is located in a directory named "Plugins", but PowerPoint is looking for it in "PlugIns". This obviously does not work in a case-sensitive filesystem.

I am using a small LAN network of three macs.When I try and print to a printer that is plugged into another mac I am missing options from the OS print dialog that appear when the printer is plugged in directly. The items missing are from the drop down box that defaults to "layout"
missing are:
print settings
expansion
extension collections
paper configuration
roll paper options
or simply have a visual reference

thanks for your response. in answer to your question it is the epson r2400. If i plug the printer into my mac i get the full dialog, as I would when i print on the g5 (where it is normally plugged in). This would suggest that there are correct drivers on both macs for printing directly.
On my mac in the print dialog i can select two "different" printers
Epson Stylus Photo R2400
or
Epson Stylus Photo (g5) @ studio g5
(think the last bit (studio g5) is correct am not in front of that mac right now)
The first one only works when the printer is directly plugged in, the second one only when networked, and then doesn't give the full options, as aper the subject line.

VS2013 CE - how to disable from different Menus / Options temporarely unneeded things (VB,C++ etc)

I mainly want to use VS2013 for programming things in C# ... In different Menus I get the full Options/Customization for every Language VS2013 supports, that is a bit timeconsuming to sort things out etc. Is there a way to hide these options that I don`t want
at the moment ..
Example:
In TOOLS->Options->Fonts and Colors->Display items Box ... in the listbox exists things like:
C++ Classtemplate
C++ Enumerators
C++....
VB excluded Code
VB XML Attributes
VB .....
Is there a way to disable the things from C++, VB ... thanks in advance ...

MSS Time Approval - multiple (different) selection options for manager?

Hi all
I am setting up MSS Time Approval delegation in ERP2005 without workflow, leave request, nor portal development environment set up.
In this case, the customer needs to have multiple selection options for who to approve:
1. The manager's direct reports (standard functionality)
2. All subordinates, all levels down
3. Delegate's (manager or non-manager) view of a particular (other) manager's direct reports
3b. This might extend to a set of different delegation selections
4. Add or remove certain individuals
Now, getting 3. and 4. to work was simple using the BAdI (I think the enhancement spot is named APPR_CUST), method ...-edit_selection, but I am having difficulties with 2. and 3b. Now I am thinking along these lines, and I would greatly appreciate your input:
A. It seems that the MSS "Approve working time" app only loads the data selection at the entry into this screen (INIT command from portal), using the start perspective determined for example by the IMG for defining the approval profile <-> view. My debugging suggests that the view change from the drop down menu (CHANGE_PERSPECTIVE command) only picks a different way to present the same data set.
Could anybody please confirm or contradict this conclusion?
B. Is it possible to present the entire "Approve working time" section in MSS in multiple different copies so that they would all generate an INIT command? Or is it possible to copy and modify the entire MSS tab, resulting in an ESS tab, one MSS, one "D"SS, one "A"SS (well, not suggesting that the top manager is one, but you get the drift...) and so on?
If either of this were possible, it would be simple to make two modifications, one at the beginning of the FM called by the portal and one at the FM that returns the start perspective.
So far I have been trying to catch and alter the CHANGE_PERSPECTIVE command into an INIT in the back end, but the Time Approval functionality is a bit too complex for me to feel entirely comfortable with this approach.

We too are using MSS for time approval of time entered via ESS. We are on ECC 6.0 for the backend (no enhancement packs, at least not yet), currently sp stack 10 with hrsp 24, and EP 7.0 with stack 10 for the ESS/MSS business packages. We are using the standard MSS UWL functionality for the approval, so it is workflow-based in my understanding.
In other parts of MSS, the managers can see a few levels deep in the organization structure, based upon the definition we gave for their structural profiles. For instance, in the team calendar/overview, or other team information, they have a choice for multiple levels or only direct reports. However, in the time approval application, only direct reports are shown, so if a manager goes on vacation, at present the only way to cover time approvals for that manager's employees appears to be to temporarily assign a new 'chief' to that org unit, so HR involvement becomes necessary. The manager doesn't have any method for delegating the approval or other MSS authorities. We were hoping that by allowing multiple levels in the structural profile, such approvals would "roll up" to the next level, i.e. the manager's supervisor, so the next level manager could act as a backup to his/her managers on vacation. That doesn't work, however.
We have heard that a delegation feature for MSS will be available in an upcoming release, but I haven't found any information regarding whether that requires an upgrade, an enhancement pack, a later service pack level, or what or when that functionality will be available. Does anyone know anything about that?

Different user options with different sets of questions

Is there a way I can have two different options and when the user clicks on option A a whole set of questions/form fields appear. Or if they select option B a whole different set of questions/form fields appear?
How would I go about programming something like that?

SAP Logon Tickets issued by the Portal contain two user ids, basically one for Java Systems and one for ABAP systems. See also note 843061 for details.
You do not need passwords for the reference system, if the user mapping is maintained by the user administrator, and the UM property ume.usermapping
.admin.pwdprotection is set to false, see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/fe/d22a41b108f523e10000000a155106/frameset.htm. If you set the mapped user id programmatically, or if you retrieve it from an LDAP server, you also do not need to verify the ABAP password of the user (see https://media.sdn.sap.com/javadocs/NW04/SP12/ume/index.html and http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/0b/d82c4142aef623e10000000a155106/frameset.htm).

all my friends are showing me on thier phones which are iphones 4s that they can slide to different options under camera, while i only get to slide to video, photo and square... why is this? i want panorama and the other options they get like black and white and such, help

is there any apps that anyone knows of that will give me those features?
