Different mfile in application (EXE)

Hello,
can You please help me? I have a problem with mfile in builded application. First, I have a main vi, in which is subvi with MathScript Node with 4 mfiles. These are stored in folder, where user can change them, but he doesn't change names of mfiles. When I run a main vi, everything work correct, mfile can be changed. But if I build a application (exe file), mfiles are in firmly. The application doesn't need a folder with mfiles, but I need have the folder, where user can modify mfiles. Any ideas please?

Thank You for Your interest, here is example. When you change mfile, for example z = x * y instead z = x + y, vi mfile_LabView works well, but application still counts with equation z = x + y. Do you have any idea, how this problem solves please? Thank you.

  • Missing Sub VI error when running Application.exe in development PC

    Hi,
    I have created an application(exe) on my computer, which is also where I have also designed the different blocks of code for this application.
    All the blocks of code work just fine when made to run through Labview 2013 development software. After adding all the VI files associated with the  project in the project explorer of a new project and configuring the build specifications, I was able to create the executable. But, when I try running this executable/application(.exe) file, I get the missing subVI message. I found that some of these missing sub VIs are the Instrument driver VIs which work absolutely fine when run through the LabVIEW development sofware.
    How can I resolve this issue?
    Attachment "Error Screenshot" shows the Missing sub VI message.
    Attachment "Project & Error Screenshot" shows the Missing sub VI message along with the list of dependencies in the project, which shows the error being displayed eventhough the sub VI is present in the dependency list.
    Any comments in this regard are highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Vivek

    Thanks for your comment Jeff,
    But what about the 'subBuildXYGraph.vi', 'Waveform Array To Dynamic.vi' and other such VI's in the attached error message that are not a part of the Rohde and Schwarz drivers but are included in the vi.lib folder? Ideally, labview must be able to find/trace atleast these VIs while performing the build procedure, right?
    Vivek
    If they are (Non dynamically called)-dependancies of always included dynamic calls, Yes, the build will include them.
    I hate to say it but,  Start with the rs dynamic vis  and keep adding if that meerely helps reduce the list of the missing vis.

    I have no idea how to choose the different option as the error message mentioned.

    By the way, my PC still has the full activated version of Labview 8.5.1, can I get any assist from there?
    Thanks.

    Hi tantan,
                        If you have activated 8.5 then why you are not using this for building exe ?
    Any specific reason ?
    Kudos are always welcome if you got solution to some extent.

  • How to include .xml file while building a stand alone application .exe file from a Labview program

    HI,
    I have a labview program which loads default values of all the variables from a .xml file when executed.  I am trying to build a standalone '.exe application'  using
    (Tools Menu --> Build Application from VI) , however I am not sure where to include this .xml file in the process?  I really appreciate if some one could let me know.
    Thanks
    Vish

    As GerdW said, it is preferable (and better practice) to use the project explorer. My guess, you didn't configure the build correctly (and probably used the default settings).
    First, you have to specify your xml file as Always included is the source file tab
    Now look at how the build folders are built:
    The .ini file (xml in your case) is in the data folder. So in the build the relative position of the xml file is not the same as in the development environment. You have to be aware of this difference and use a diiferent relative path for the exe. You can do this using a conditional disable symbol in the project and then use the conditional disable structure in your VI.
    Here in the deploy case the exe will look for the file in the data folder and in the development environment it will look in a folder name Files.

    The right corner of the Task Bar is called System Tray.
    This can be done with G Toolbox -> Systray Icon VIs:

  • Building application exe USB-9215 DAQmxBase LabView7.1 errors

    Hello
    I’ve been building DAQ applications using the NI 4-channel USB 9215 module. It has a sampling rate of 20ks/sec and with four channels the maximum I can sample per channel is 5000s/sec.
    It works with no problems at this rate and lower rates, however when I compile an application and run it, I get the following message:
    Onboard device memory overflow. Because of system and/or bus bandwith limitations, the driver could not read data from the device fast enough to keep up with the device throughput. Error code: -200361
    This message appears irrespective of the sampling rate, even down to 1s/sec !!. I’m using Labview 7.1 with the ‘DAQmx Base Read.vi’ in a while loop. The PC spec is very high and no other applications are running. The PC has 4 USB ports; only two are in use, one for a mouse, the other for the 9215.
    Any ideas would be welcome
    Thanks in advance

    Hi there,
    What operating system are you running on and what service pack version?
    It seems that there have been occurences of errors similar to this (with other USB devices 9201/9221) reported on machines with Windows XP service pack 1. In particular the version of the Windows file usbehci.sys, as reported in the following knowledge base article.
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/ADC80B3995042EB98625704C006B5753?OpenDocument
    If this applies to your situation, I would suggest upgrading the service pack as recommended in the knowledge base article and see if this helps.

    -Xcelsius Build number (Help>About Xcelsius): <not accessible>
    -Business Objects Enterprise version/patch level (if applicable): Crystal Reports 12.1.0.892 - SP1
    -Issue Description: Xcelsius exe won't launch - Entry Point Not Found message given
    -Steps to Duplicate: When I try to open Xcelsius.exe, I receive a message box that says "Xcelsius.exe - Entry Point Not Found" "The procedure entry point ?LevelDiffToFirst@CTreeBtnCtrl@@QAEHPAU_TREEITEM@@@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library TreeBtnExtDll.dll."
    I have uninstalled and re-installed Xcelsius with the same results.
    Also, when I open Crystal Reports 2008, the "Crystal Reports 2008 SP1 - Software Manager" opens and shows an update available - SP2. When I try to install the update, it downloads and then displays a message the this update is only available for Crystal Reports 2008 SP1. I believe that is my current version.
    After some research, I believe my CR Runtime app may be a different version than what Xcelsius.exe is expecting, but I don't know how to check or fix that. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi
    I think I've managed to fix this error. I compared the TreeBtnExtDll.dll in my Xcelsius directory on the machine that wasn't working and one that was and found that the broken machine was using an older and smaller version of TreeBtnExtDll.dll. 89k and a date in 2008 I think. So I copied my newer version which was 109 k and dated 11/2009 into the C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Xcelsius directory of the broken machines and now xcelsius appears to be working fine.
    I had lots of trouble installing the SP3 release because of the media issues so maybe the install wasn't complete.
    Anyway, I hope this helps you

  • How to stop svchost.exe to connect to internet?

    I used a software known as TCPview. I used it to monitor what are the services that are connected to the internet. In this I found out that svchost.exe is always downloading something. It is not the automatic windows update since I changed the windows
    update to manual. So please help me since my internet speed is very slow & in that svchost.exe is always downloading something....

    On a newly setup system svchost.exe is the process that runs a lot of services. This means that some service may be downloading something that is important to it. Or it may always be a different service.
    The resmon.exe can tell you more about which service is downloading stuff. Under network you can look for the PID of the svchost.exe that is downloading and then go to the services tab in the task manager. There you look for the PID again and hopefully find
    a useful description that let's you decide what to do.
    On the other hand svchost.exe is a very loved name by some shady programmers looking for new bots for their networks or for some useful login or credit card data. Meaning is all of your software and especially your windows up to date and have you an always
    watching and updated anti virus software installed? Even if so a virus might be something to consider

  • Javaw.exe - No Disk

    I am running an application with a FileBrowser as part of it. I have built it in JBuilderX and it runs fine with that IDE.
    I am now running it as a jar from the command line and am getting an error window appearing as the FileBrowser checks the directory's available and there are no disks in the floppy or CD drives. Pressing cancel removes the window and the app runs.
    I have found several threads on this which have said that it is a problem when java makes a native call in java.io.WinNTFileSystem and that not all versions of java are affected.
    I have this problem with java 1.4.2 and 1.5.0_05.
    I have found a couple of work arounds:
    1, Resetting the SecurityManager
    SecurityManager sm = System.getSecurityManager();
    try {
    System.setSecurityManager(null);
    File.listRoots();
    catch(Exception e) {
    finally {
    System.setSecurityManager(sm);
    2, Calling the app in a different way.
    Launch java.exe from within the context of another program such as VB which correctly tells the WinNTFileSystem native call not to show the dialog, but to throw a java.io.IOException instead
    Neither of these work for me
    Does anyone have experience of this problem and any other means of resolving it?

  • Not able to activate web server in exe

    Hello,
    I have a problem with starting a web server. I have Vi that feeds the address of the directory to publish and after that it makes the server enable. And in the directory there are a few html files and a few jpg files. And the jpg files are attached to the html files. And then there are a few vi that appends other Vi:s front panels to images. And as the program runs the the image files in the server directory are over written (updated). So the point is to access via Web browser to the site where is some hyper links and behind he links are the photos of the few front panels. And my applications automatically updates the images.
    Problem is that the server won't go on when I built and run the application. In development environment this works perfect. I tried this on a different PC also but the exe won't connect the server on either of the computers.
    Need help, thanks
    There is the web server start file attached.

    Hi,
    The instructions points out that some modification must be made to the .ini file. But that instruction page is made with labview 8.6 and I have version 8.2. There are a few differences like:
    postScriptLevel2=False   <---- My configuration file misses that part
    WebServer.Enabled=True   <----  That one is a bit different
    This got me thinking though. Is the configuration file written in the stone? I mean that my application programmatically sets the server directory and then enables the server. This is because the directory changes when the application is installed in to another PC. And I checked that Both the server directory and server activation function work in stand alone application as quote

    The following table lists the characteristics of this property.

  • Published .exe file - Captivate 5

    We recently upgraded from Captivate 3to Captivate 5, with Captivate 3 we published all of our projects as .exe files and never experienced a problem.  However, I just created a project in Captivate 5, published it as a .exe file (tried with both Flash Player 9 and Flash Player 10) and users cannot access the file.  Those of us that have the Captivate 5 application installed on our PCs can open the .exe file without a problem.  However, the users that do not have the Captivate 5 application cannot open it.  All of us have Flash Player 10 installed, therefore, I don't believe it's a problem with the Flash Player.  The error message that they are getting states, "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."
    My project information is as follows:
    Resolution:  800x600
    Slides:  13
    Slides with audio:  0
    Audio quality:  MP3, 96 kbps, 44.100 KHz
    eLearning output:  Acrobat.com
    Display score:  Yes
    Enable Accessibility:  Yes
    Skin:  City Night
    Flash(SWF) size and quality:  Custom
    ActionScript Version:  AS3
    I also published it as an .swf file (with html) and they cannot open the .swf (I believe because they don't have a swiff point player), but could open the .html.  However, the .html doesn't work properly with posting quiz results to acrobat.com.
    Your help is greatly appreciated, at this point, it's preventing us from using Captivate 5 for anything.

    Hi David,
    I don't understand why Adobe Technical support is still working on a solution .... when one has already been developed and WORKED !!! Unless other people are having a slightly different problem with publisheding as .exe file ??
    Here is the details of the bug I reported on 16th August 2010:

When they try to run the .exe file the following message is received: "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem". Learners computers are running on Windows XP
    Steps to reproduce bug:
    1. Start Captivate 5
    2. Create project from project template. Note project template was created in Captivate 5
    3. Project created contains 5 slides, 4 slides are recording slides
    4. Save project
    5. publish project as Windows .exe  6. .exe files runs on computer with Captivate installed
    7. send file to learner (with no Captivate installed) and when the try to run it, the error message appears
    Results: error message received: This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem"
    Expected results: .exe file should run eLearning program created with Captivate 5
    Here is the solution (minus the attached file since I can't add files to this forum) I received on 16th August:
    We really appreciate you reporting this issue. The issue has been addressed and I am attaching the fix with this email.
    Please follow the below steps -
    1. Rename the attached 'FakeFlash.txt' file to 'FakeFlash.Exe'.
    2. Go to "<Adobe Captivate 5 Installation Folder>/ExecutablePublish"
    3. Take a backup of 'FakeFlash.Exe' file.
    4. Replace the 'FakeFlash.Exe' with the one renamed in step 1
    5. Launch Captivate, Open the Project, and publish it to Exe
    Let us know if it solved your problem.
    Thanks

    I suggest Adobe Technical Support talk to their colleague, Ravi, for the solution instead of re-developing it. And post it on the Adobe site so everyone has access to it.
    As much as I enjoy particatpating & helping the Captivate community ... I'm sorry I just can not act as you distributor of bug fixes because Adobe can't get their act straight on this MAJOR problem.

  • Getting exe path - JSmoothed my jar

    I created an application and I read the path of my jar code like this:
    Class cls =myClass.class;
            ProtectionDomain domain = cls.getProtectionDomain();
            CodeSource source = domain.getCodeSource();
            URL url = source.getLocation();
            String path=url.toString();
            path=path.substring(0,path.lastIndexOf('/'));Lets suppose my app.jar is located in "C:/Program and Files/mySoftware/bb.jar"
    Then, my path returns "C:/Program and Files/mySoftware"
    Now I wrapped my jar into .exe file using Jsmooth(yes, I need to do that)
    When I run my .exe file it finds a different code location like this:
    "C:/Program and Files/tmp/images".
    Is there a different way of grabbing the exe path?
    Thx!!

    ThomYork wrote:
    Hi again DrLaszlo.
    I tried all the previous answers on the thread about the path.
    Now that I created a file .exe for my application, I could get its path using
    String tmp = System.getProperty("user.dir");
    Actually that's how you get the current working directory. Probably you set that to be the directory where the exe was located, but you can't rely on that in general.
    Since I was trying to load an image file I had the MalformedURLException when I created
    the url using the path.
    So, I verify if "tmp" starts with "file:\". If not, I add it and works fine.
    if(!tmp.startsWith("file:\\")){
         tmp="file:\\"+tmp;
    You should use slashes in URLs, not backslashes.

  • Can we make executable (.exe) of a programme written in java?

    Hi friends,
    I want to make an .exe file from java source file.Is it possible? If yes how can I achive this?

    snerk...
    Does anyone actually buy that product?
    Actually generating exe wrappers is not very difficult at all. Lots of different solutions to the eternal exe problem have been suggested in the past - these can be found using the forum search function.
    The options that commonly get mentioned are:
    JAR files
    Shortcuts
    Batch files
    Native wrappers
    Statically compiled programs
    Most of these are free. Native wrappers may even be a feature of your IDE - JBuilder 7E can generate them for a number of platforms, for example.
