Difficulties logging into with the Apple-ID - wrong username
Hello! I just got an iPhone 4 and I can´t buy apps because it says that the password is not valid. I have checked it out several times and it is. The name presented as the usename of my account is not the right one though. How do I change it? Or should I do something else?

I have had my new IPod Touch for a month now and every time I try to buy an app I have to make up a new password! Why can't Apple remember my password? I am running out of ideas for passwords I can remember and the sheet of paper I have been writting on is getting long with crossed out passwords.
I don't understand why they even bother asking you if you want to retrieve your password or reset your password because the only option they allow is changing it.
I would love to have ONE password that Apple remembers each time.
Any ideas? Apple support was worthless.

Yes the phone belongs to me. It was purchased from United Kingdom Vodafone to West Africa, i had to factory unlock to use any sim in it. so it belongs to me. I did the activation myself, now after updating my iphone to the latest update, it required a user id and password to activate the phone, but anytime i enter the details, it tells me the user Id is not correct but the password is correct..

I am unable to update my apps... in my purchases page it appears as "update", then a message tells me to log on with the Apple ID I purchased the app with... Well I have tried my two different accounts and neither one will work, can someone help ??
And is there any way to sync all my purchases and accounts to just have one... It is a bit stupid that you dont even get a list of something of what account you may of used, or some kind of hint, so you could log on to the right account. I am really stuck ...

I bought this late 2011 Macbook Pro and can not update iPhoto or iMovie because the store asks me to log in with the previous owners Apple ID. What should I do? I don't want to purchase the apps.
I'm not sure on that. My macbook pro came with snow leopard. So If I was going to sell it, the person would have the os disk and the applications disk(iLife). I'm pretty sure that a computer that comes with Lion has the iLife apps tied to it through the mac app store regardless of how many different people own the computer (all you need is your own apple id). If I try to delete any of my iLife apps I get an error messege telling me it's not possible. There might be a way to do it with a terminal command, but that is way out of my league. Well this is a learning experience for everyone. If the person who sold you the computer said they did not have the Microsoft Office for mac disk or product key code, it should have brought your purchase price down a bit. I think the cheapest copy is about $120. I'm sorry I can't help you with everything. Good Luck.

The problem is, I bought the whole iWork suite a long time ago, before the AppStore was launched, so I did not use an Apple ID. I could upgrade previous versions just fine, but I can not any more. I hope I do not ned to repurchase them ....

Music you have purchased from the iTunes Store, yes.
Music you have put in your iTunes Library from other sources, no, unless you have subscribed to iTunes Match and all your songs are stored in Apple's iCloud as well. -
When I turn on my iMac it comes up with the login icons which I then choose and log into. The password works and I then get the apple icon and the spinning wheel. After about a minute the Apple icon turns into a prohibited icon. However, if I log in under the guest icon, I can access the wifi and get to Safari. I really don't know what to do next. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Are you running any A-V? If it's an iMac 21.5, I don't think you're running Leopard, 10.5. Probably at least Snow Leopard, 10.6. This is the Leopard forum.

Try a Safe Boot. Shift at the startup chime and expect a much longer time to boot. This will bring you to a login screen with "Safe Boot" in red.

I am trying to import songs to my new macbook pro from my old computer using home sharing. Both computers say that home sharing is now on but neither show up in each other's library menu. I am logged on with the same apple id for both computers. and both are on a stable wireless connection
Logging into itunes store on each machine wth different Apple IDs is OK Autorising each others machines with the other Apple ID is OK. This is completley separate from Home Sharing
For Home Sharing to work you need to
File > Home Sharing > Create Home Share.
You need to select one of the two Apple IDs you are using and ENTER THIS ON BOTH MACHINES WHEN CREATING THE HOME SHARE.

okay so just as i was typing this the problem resolved itself, but when i went to charge my ipod i noticed ot stayed on the black screen with the apple for a good 10 minutes, so i pressed buttons furiously (!!) and the screen went white and then back on to the screen with apple again. this contiinued for a good 4 tries then eventually went on to my lock screen (which is the very beautiful dom howard not that you know who that is and i dont even know any of you so i dont know why im typing all of this out but i really enjoy typing it's an incredibly exciting past time of mine but unfortunately i havent used capital letters) just wondering if it will happen again
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I used my only Apple ID to purchase my iMac (Intel-based one). I've never been able to update core apps that came with it. I can update third party apps I've bought (like Coda), but when I try to update Garage Band, iPhoto, iMovie and so on, a popup message appears saying "You have updates available for other accounts" and "Log in with the account you used to purchase this app in order to update it", or similar (see screenshot above).
The OS seems to get its updates fine - it's just the core apps from the App Store.
I've only ever had one Apple ID, so I have no idea what to do. I went to ask the Genius bar at my local Apple store, and they couldn't help, and insisted that I must have purchased the iMac using a different account, but I definitely didn't. There are a few posts on non-Apple forums of this happening to other people, so it must be a rare bug.
I'm a little concerned it may affect my ability to update from Lion to Mountian Lion. Can anyone help?
DanHave you done a Disk Repair and a Disk Permissions Repair?
If that doesn't resolve the problem I would suggest calling customer support about this issue as it is most likely on their (Apple's) end that the problem exists. -
I want to return my iPad 3, but I did not have an apple account at the time of purchase, and when I type in my order number and proceed to click "cancel order", it prompts me to log in with my apple I'd and then tells me that I am not authorised to do anything on the account in relation to the transaction. What should I do?
You can view and edit your orders without an Apple ID by logging in with your order number, along with the shipping zip code or email address.

I have two apple ID's, one with all my apps and one with only Mavericks. Will Mavericks update automatically if i'm not logged in to the apple ID I used to download it?

An Apple ID is a valid email address, apparently. How can those be "attached to your email"... what email?
Facetime will not verify my e-mail address because it is associated with the other account.
This doesn't make sense. You can register multiple, even non-Apple-ID, email addresses and their aliases with FaceTime.
So, maybe you can explain your problem better - what you want and the steps you've taken and what you have so far. If something doesn't work, please tell the exact error message, too. -
i have 2 apple ids and one is from years ago when icloud wasnt a thought but now somehow it became my primary apple id and i cant photo stream with the apple id i use. Even if im signed into my old one the photo stream doesnt automatically go to my mac. Im not exactly technology savy but id love to figure this out.
I have also noticed the same "problem". I do not fully understand the impact of using the same ID on multiple computers and devices if I want to keep them all in sync.

how do i verify my icloud I've been trying to set up my icloud account...it's telling me to check my email to verify. there's nothing there. I can log in with my apple ID but that is it??? HELP
Have you tried your spam folder? it could have gone there by default. also, are you sure you put the correct email in for iCloud?

I have changed my Apple ID name and I want to change it on iCloud, however I am not able to delete the previous account because I need to turn off the Find my iPhone - and for that I need to log in with the old name and that is not working. Help anyone?
