Digital A/V adapter.

I have a question about the digital A/V adapter. Can I use two of them in tandem? ie. One plugged into the dock connector on the iPad then another plugged into the dock connector on the adapter. I would be using the HDMI side of the first adapter to connect to a HDTV/Monitor.  The dock connector of the second adapter would then be used to connect a mic.
This setup would be used as a videoconference tool. The output of the HDMI port to the monitor and the mic would be used to pick up the room audio. Tascam has a mic that will operate from the dock connector of the iPad. Details of the device can be found here:    http://www.markertek.com/Audio-Equipment/Microphones/Computer-Microphones/Tascam /IM2.xhtml

  • Apple Digital AV/HDMI Adapter Vs Apple TV

    Hey Guys / Gals,
Was just trying to get opinions on wether I should get Apple Digital AV/HDMI Adapter vs Apple Tv. The primary use today would be Netflix. Future use would be the NBA League Pass (Once Apple / NBA get their act together).
Is it true that the Digital Adapter will NOT display the NBA League pass because it blocks the video out?
Also, if NBA was not a part of this, and the $40 / $100 price difference did not exist, which would be the better Netflix player? I have no desire to stream any pictures and content from my ipad to my tv and all that jazz the ATV also offers... Just split on which would be the better device, but leaning towards getting the digital cable. Am I missing anything?
    Thanks.

Apple tv, hands down.  No wires.  You control from anywhere.  In fact, with the apple tv, you access Netflix from the atv, leaving you and your pad to do whatever you want while you watch.
There is a price difference between the atv and just the cables, but once you see what options open up for you, it becomes a not brainier.

  • Fourpoint Surround FPS 2000 Digital - Replacement AC Adapter?

Yeah, anyone reading this is thinking, "That system is ancient! Didn't that come out around EAX 1.0?" Indeed, friends, indeed. And a faithful and wonderful system it has been. I would love for it to continue its service in my home, too, if I can locate a replacement AC adapter. Go figure. Speakers still work, but without power what good are they? Again, I'm looking for the AC adapter for the Cambridge Soundworks Fourpoint Surround FPS 2000 Digital speaker package. It features 5VDC 3A output. I'm a bit hesitant to PAY to ask Creative if they can help me through customer support. =/ Especially for such an old system that gets no recognition on their site at all. =) Thanks all! -Rober

Cambridge Soundworks FPS2000 Digital System Model#: C5W500AC Adapter Model#: TEAD-66-53000U Hope that helps.
I just found a generic transformer at Radio Shack (gag me!) and they want $90US (again, please) which is a bit more than I ever plan to pay for a Radio Shack part. At $90, I'd just save up and buy one of the newer model systems. =/

  • X-fi xtreme gamer Digital I/O Adapter question, please help!

    < I have this card:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=N82E682902006
I've been trying to find some kind of adapter for it so I can get my Optical connection to work with my card since my speakers and headphones can use this. Also its a pain unplugging my analog connection from speakers and heaphones everytime I want to use one or the other so if I can get optical working then it would be a very easy switch from my receiver to my headphones without getting behind my computer everytime.
Ok so it says that this product won't work on any other cards, it says
Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatalty Professional Series?<span class="Apple-style-span">is supported but it fails to mention x-fi extreme gamer (my card) in the listings, however I assume that it would work since they are similar cards?
    http://us.creative.com/products/prod...=6&product=780?
<span class="Apple-style-span">?Can i get an offical response if this product will work with my card? If this doesn't work then this is extremely dissapointing since I have the option to use optical and will have to buy a new card....

    Hi Ravenfrost,
I am not aware of an adapter that may work in this case because you can only use the flexi-jack for any of the following functions at any one time.

  • NFL Sunday Ticket App does it display on the tv with the Digital A/V Adapter

Does anyone know if this works?

    Hi MFG,
    Welcome to the discussions.
The G4 AGP Graphics model originally shipped with an ATY Rage 128 graphics card. The ATI Radeon 9000 graphics card that is installed in your G4 is not the original card.
The ATI Radeon 9000 comes with a native ADC port (which you are trying to use). This port is only fully functional if the computer is ADC enabled. Your model of G4 is, unfortunately, not ADC enabled.
You can confirm this by opening the computer and having a look at the AGP slot (where the graphics card is installed). In ADC enabled Macs, there is an extra slot at one end of the AGP slot to accomodate an "extra leg" that the ADC graphics cards (such as the ATI 9000) have. This extra leg supplies the power and USB feed. You'll probably find this extra leg with no slot for it to go into.
What this means is that you are not getting power and USB feed through the ADC port to your display.
If you want to get the 17" ADC Apple LCD display working off this card (it's definitely the LCD display and not the CRT display, please confirm), you will need to use a DVI to ADC adaptor such as this one:
    http://www.drbott.com/prod/db.lasso?code=0111-DVAD
and run it off the DVI output.
You can run your VGA screen at the same time (if you want to) off the ADC output by using this adaptor:
    http://www.drbott.com/prod/db.lasso?code=0117-ADCV
This will work off the ADC port because, although the ADC port is not getting USB or power feed, it's still getting the DVI feed (which is what this adaptor needs).
    Cheers!
    Karl

  • VGA to HDMI cable adapter

Can I use this type of cable to connect my PC ( p6112p with Intel GMA 3100 ) to the HDMI input of my TV?

    Hi,
From VGA to HDMI you need a converter to convert from analog signals to digital signals, not adapter. There are many around, the following product will do (with sound):

  • This Accessory Not Supported: HDMI Adapter on iPad2

When I attach my Digital AV (HDMI) adapter to my iPad, an error message appears saying "This Accessory Not Supported". Is there a problem with the adapter? Or with my iPad.

    For the 4G
    Try:
    - Reset the dock
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
For the iPhone, try another cable.

  • Digital or analogue cable from Airport Express?

Getting my hi-fi tomorrow and trying to find a toslink cable with 3.5 mm /minijack in both ends to connect with my Airport Express. They are quite hard to find and I wonder if the sound quality really gets THAT much better with the digital cable?

Thanks for the input, but I'm not clear on this toslink adapter and I hope you can clarify.
I assume the adapter is connected to the line out of a dock station, since an iPod only has headphone out. Does that mean that the dock station line out is outputing digital or analogue? If it is outputing analogue, the signal has gone through the iPod DAC which has already converted the digital to analogue. (Which I guess that's a dumb observation since it must be outputing digital unless the adapter has an ADC).
If the dock station input is better then the headphone then I assume the dock station is streaming a digital output which is being converted to analogue by the HiFi's DAC.
So the conclusion must be that the line out and the dock station outputs are both streaming digital, bypassing the iPod DAC, but, for some reason the line out is not getting as much distortion in it's route to the output as the dock station output is.
    Thanks for any help
    Thanks

  • Can't find channel lineup for Motorola DCT700 Set top Adapter

I have two DVRs and a Motorola DCT7000 Digital Set Top Adapter in my house.  I can use Verizon's web site as well as the on-screen menus to find the channel lineups for the DVRs, but the channels on the Digital Set Top Adapter (little grey box) do not match the published channels.  Is there an alternate lineup somewhere?  (For example, PBS is on channel 22 and Comedy Central is on channel 1644!)
    Thanks,
    Mike

The DCT700 should have all the SD channels in the the same place as the full featured boxes, it just doesn't support any HD, VOD, PPV, or have a guide.
For instance, Comedy Central should be on channel 190 (SD version).  The 1644 channel you referenced is most likel.y a duplicate (mapping olnly - not a duplicate of the channel) for the Spanish language package (or some other foreign language package even though it may be in English).

  • Digital av, Digital av ios6

Having a problem with my digital av (hdmi) adapter after upgrade to iOS6
I get the message: accressory not supported!

Here is the explanation. Seems you may have an older unit.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4108?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Although apparently everyone has lost functionallity with this adaptor since iOS6. I was about to purchase one but all the reviews state it quit working with iOS 6

  • G5 to mini dvi

Just purchased a 27" apple cinema display for an older G5.  Was told I also needed "Dr Bott Digital Video Link" adapter to convert mini dvi to the standard dvi...  will not work... anyone have any luck with similar issue?

Are you talking a G5 tower, or a G5 iMac?  The G5 towers used standard DVI, and sometimes dual-link DVI, but never mini-DVI.  As for the 27" Cinema Display, are you talking the one just released with Thunderbolt technology?

  • USB-C to mini display port and thunderbolt apple displays

I currently have a 24 in late 2008 Apple Cinema Display connected to a 2008 MacBook.  This particular display has a three pronged connector (MagSafe, mini DisplayPort, conventional USB).  I am thinking of upgrading to the new MacBook but am concerned about the compatibility with my display.  Will there be an adapter or solution to connect the USB-C port to the three pronged connector of the apple Cinema Display?  I see that USB-C port has support for hdmi, VGA, and standard display port but I see nothing about Mini DisplayPort or MagSafe.  There is also no mention of thunderbolt dislay connectivity (for newer adopters of Apple displays).  I understand innovation often comes at a price but it seems like a fairly large oversight to potentially obsolete fairly expensive larger apple Mini DisplayPort and thunderbolt devices for people who are looking to upgrade.  This will certainly factor into my decision in purchasing new apple laptops in the future, especially if the standard inevitably moves toward USB-C on all devices.  Thanks for any help!

You can connect your 24" display with the Apple HDMI adapter
    <http://store.apple.com/us/product/MJ1K2AM/A/usb-c-digital-av-multiport-adapter>
followed by a HDMI to Mini DisplayPort converter
    <http://www.kanex.com/xd>
The MacBook USB-C connector does support DisplayPort, so there may be a future adapter that would avoid the HDMI conversion.
You won't be able to use the MagSafe cable.

  • Dual monitor (in addition to native screen) on MacBook Pro 2010

I have a mid-2010 MacBook Pro (13 in) (2.4 GHz intel core 2 duo), and am hoping to extend the desktop with two external monitors. I have used one external monitor with great success, but I want to use another. Both are VGA and one also has HDMI. The spec sheet for this MacBook Pro (http://support.apple.com/kb/SP583) says it supports one external monitor, but I'm wondering if I can push it to two. If yes, what cables/dongles would work best? Thanks.

    libsterloo,
I have the same model MacBook Pro as you. You’ll need a device such as the Matrox DualHead2Go Digital Mac Edition adapter to support two external monitors.
