DIM-00019 Cannot Create service (when running DBCA)
Hello,
I was trying to install Oracle9i and configure a DB instance (my first try at 9i, to be sure) and everything went ok until I was creating the DB instance. The dbca asked for all the parameters and when it was actually in the process of copying files/creating services it stops with the error
DIM-00019 Create Service Error
Then it tries to continue but another error comes up
ORA-12560: TNS: Protocol Adapter Error.
And then it aborts.
Does anyone know what is going wrong here? I'm trying to install in Windows 2000 Server SP4.

ORA-27102: out of memory on Solaris 10 when running dbca

This is a new box T2000 running the latest update of Solaris 10.
I installed 10gR2 and its latest patch 4547817.
When running dbca, when it tries to do clone database, it fails with ORA-27102.
I have already set shared memory limits for oracle account using prctl.
projadd -U oracle -K "project.max-shm-memory=(priv,4294967295B,deny)" user.oracle
I tried increasing the limit to 8GB. It didn't work. The system has 32GB of memory.
When I trussed the process I saw quite a few cals of shmget failing with EINVAL.
Any ideas how I can fix this.

I had the same problem and managed to solve it. The problem is with your shared memory settings.
By default, Oracle 10 will allocate 40% of the total system RAM to the SGA and PGA.
On my T2000 with 16GB of RAM this equates to ~6.5GB. Using the value of 4GB for the SHM as stated in the Oracle installation docs is therefore too low. I set the value to 8GB and the database created without problems.
On your 32GB machine, assuming you are using the default 40% allocation, your minimum shared memory requiredment will be ~13GB. Working on the principal of setting it a little higher to get things working (you can always reduce it later), I would set 'project.max-shm-memory' to 16GB and try re-running DBCA.

Cannot create service

I have been trying to install iTunes 5.x and keep getting the same error. I've tried nearly every suggestion I've read, but no one seems to be having the same problem I am. The installation nearly completes, then a small window comes up that says "Cannot create service". No error number, just that phrase. When I insert the ipod it tells me I need to reinstall itunes. It's very frustrating. I had to purchase anapod to manage the music on my ipod. Is Apple really this inept? I had no problems at all before I upgraded from 4.9 to 5.

have you tried working through the standard installation error troubleshooting document yet?

IMovie error - cannot create file when I attempt to share

I am using MAC OS X 10.9.5, iMovie 10.0.5. I have successfully create many movies by using Share to file - of long and short sizes. This particular time I made couple of minor edits to my movie which had previous shared to file with no problem, and when I went to Share to File I get an error message. The Share fails with the error "cannot create file".
I have plenty of disk space.
All other applications are closed, just imovie running.
The destination is the mac internal hard drive.
I deleted imovie and re-installed it.
I deleted the Render Files.
No luck.
Any clues would be greatly appreciated.

to downgrade to a previous iTunes version, you could try this user tip that seemed to have worked for some:

Cannot create file when trying to download

Have an early 2006 iMac 17 inch with Intel chip running OSX 10-47 using Safari
Quite suddenly, when I try to download anything (widgets, any applications etc) I now get the error message "Cannot create file" and am unable to download.
Safari used to work fine but now won't let me download anything!

It still sounds like you are trying to download to a
folder with insufficient permissions to allow you to
create files.
Try creating a new folder on your Desktop, say
Downloads for example, and change the Safari
preferences so that this is the download location.
Now when you try to download, does it still fail?
If it does fail, try using Safari in another user
account.
This will help us to know whether your problem is
local to your account or system wide. If you don't
have another account you can use System Preferences
-> Accounts -> [+] to create a test one (and [-] to
remove it if needed)
OK I followed the suggestion and created a new folder for downloads in my own home directory as suggested and lo and behold, I can now download again!

Getting PRKS-1009 error when running DBCA &

I'm trying to configure my first Oracle setup and it's requiring RAC to be in place.
When I run dbca & to configure the clustered database I get the PRKS error on both nodes, which then does not allow me to find my previously created ASM disks.
I have searched through the forums and internet for solutions but everything I found had to do with people getting this error post installation on a reboot.
Any ideas or places to begin looking?

Cannot Create, open and run task in NI MAX

Using the NI MAX is very perplexing to me.
I have been using it for a lone time and I had no problems in my my PC
Till then I installed NI MAX and NI DAQmx in another production PC.
In it, I could not open or run the tasks which I had imported.
Worse still I could not create a new task.
What could be the problem?
I had used the same versions for both PCs.
When there are errors, I saw that said it is standalone program I am puzzled. Is that because the prodcution PC does not have Labview Development?
It cannot be.

"Selected report cannot be loaded" when running published crystal analysis

When running published crystal analysis reports (*.car) within Crystal Enterprise 10 i receive the message below. This is happening to all published crystal analysis reports. Can open the reports fine within Crystal Analysis Professional itself.
"Crystal Analysis Professional - The selected report cannot be loaded because one or more required parameters do not have an assigned value. "

If I memory servers, you have to open the Crystal_Regwiz2003.msm in the .NET deployment project. One of the properties of the msm was Keycode (or similar). You entered the keycode here. To find your keycode; in VS2003 IDE, go to the Help | About screen. You will see one of the installed components as Crystal Reports and the keycode will be on the right of that. Copy the keycode from here, paste in the above.

Cannot generate data when running TF_TIME_MAPin sample time dimenation ?

I hava done following:
(1)Run the SQL scripts(owb_time_seq.sqlåowb_time.sql )into target schema.
(2) Import the MDL file (owb_bp_time.mdl).
(3) Copy and paste the times dimension into project to be able to use it.
(4)Copy and paste the mapping to mine own project.
(5)Open the mapping, do a right mouse click on the time dimension and select 'Reconcile inbound'. Select matching strategy to match by bound name
(6)succuess deploy the T_TIMEdimenation and TF_TIME_MAP mapping
when run TF_TIME_MAP mapping,there is no data inserting to dimenation table,what can I do? Can anybody tell me how I can resolve the problem?

Hi,
running 9i on AIX 5.3
By starting dbca, get the Error Message 'Open wallet failed'
The dbca GUI comes up and runs fine.
Anyway in case anyone has the problem please let me know...

See Note:369562.1 ERROR: Open Wallet Failed when starting NETMANAGER/NET CONFIGURATION, it states that the message can be ignored (the Note mentions DBCA too).

I have just installed Oracle 9i on a new server, since we are moving our database server from one machine to the other, and after going through the installation without any problems DBCA was going to run but I have got the following error message:

Thank you for your reply, I have tried this method but it did not work, the problem remains the same.
Please notice that with the reference you've quoted the error is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/sysman/emSDK/common/nls/MessageBundle while mine reports the error java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/help/Help.
So, if you have any other ideas I would appreciate it.

Cannot create pdf when using Suitcase 11 installed fonts

I have Acrobat 9 Standard, and use it with Windows XP Professional. When I purchased it, I already had Suitcase 11.0.1.52 installed. Everything has been working fine for months. Now, when I print to Adobe PDF and have any fonts that were installed with Suitcase rather than Windows, it prints gibberish. If I install those fonts to Windows, everything is fine. I haven't made any changes to either program. However, after this happened a few times, I did a repair install to Acrobat, but that did not help. Any suggestions? Thank you.

You need to look at the log file produced by Distiller. If it is being erased after the PDF is created, then uncheck the delete box in the Adobe PDF printer. When you have the log, then posting it would help. You most likely have fonts that are not licensed for embedding.

I cannot download Itunes 9.1 because of this weird error - and it has corrupted my current iTunes 9.02
Can anyone help?
Is there a way to go back download 9.02 again? My only backup is version 8.2 and will not open my itunes library - is there a workaround for this?

Cannot find invoice when running APLIST.sql

We have the cheque number, and we have the supplier name. Usually, when these two are used the matching invoices are returned. In this case nothing is returned that matches the invoices that I am trying to find.
Outside of the appslist routine, we tried running these queries :
SELECT * from AP_INVOICES where INVOICE_NUM LIKE '%invoice_number%'; but this returns no rows.
At a bit of a loss now, since there seems no way to locate these invoices.

No, I have not set the application context yet - still trying my luck with AP_INVOICES_ALL.
On the form, we can see this, under the Payments form:

Witholding Tax - 23434234 -3
My question is - my query right now is
select * from AP_INVOICES_ALL where INVOICE_NUM LIKE '%Witholding%';
and no rows ar returned.
I am going to try the same with just 23434234 and see what comes off.
OK - that query gave me, on selecting VENDOR_ID a result.
What I need to know is which values in AP_INVOICES_ALL correlate to those is APLIST.sql. Specifically, I need to know how I can extract the SUPPLIER_NAME. Is it VENDOR_ID, or VENDOR_SITE_ID ? ?
It seems we are getting there . . .
