DIM-00020 error on 8.1.7 to 9.2.0.1 upgrade

Hi,
Can anyone help us on how to resolve the error we are receiving on upgrade?
1. Installed 9i in a new home
2. Choose Enterprise edition / General installation
3. Installation was sucessful
4. Ran Upgrade assistant from start-program files
5. Got the following error:
DIM-00020: A service for this SID is already created. Please enter a different SID name. No action has been taken. O/S error (os-1072) The specified service has been marked for deletion. Upgrade failed due to running the step "Upgrade Oracle Database" Press OK for the above message and got another screen with TNS-Protocol adapter error ORA 12560; Cannot get past this screen. Clicking on 'OK' brings me back to the same protocol adapter error. In the background, I see only 17% complete.

You seem to have hit the bug 2417995. Download ARU:2075304 /patch 2417995 from Metalink.
Or
run the upgrade scripts manually.

DIM -00019: create service error
Per the above thread, I have tried to install Oracle 9i (9.2.0.1) on win2k3 with no luck creating the database. When I use the configurator I get the Dim-00019 error. I have tried adding the appropriate accounts to the ora_dba group and to no avail. I get the following error when I try to start the service: Error 1053: Service did not start in a timely fashion. After I press ok on the error, I get another error: ORA-12560. But I have the TNSListener started under services.
Any suggestions?

The Oracle Instance Service he mentions is the new Service relating directly to the Database name that you are in the process of creating.
??? Why Oracle is unable to create but unable to start the database service makes me wonder if this software should be at release stage ???

Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

ORA-00020 error, max connections reached

I tried logging into TOAD from back-end but it started giving error like 'ORA-00020, maximum no of connections exceeded...'. What, are the steps we can take to counter this.

thanks, for your answer. But, in init.ora, the entries are like:-
# Processes and Sessions
#processes=250
processes=300
Is, there a difference from this in the maximum sessions possible which is given by 'sessions' parameter as
SQL> connect /as sysdba
SQL> show parameters sessions
When, I give :-
select count(1) from v$session
it gives 460.
Can, you please clear the doubts in the scenario put as above.

Adding dim property - Error processing (Invalid column name)

BPC 5.1 SP3
I'm trying to add FormulaH1 and FormulaH2 properties to a user-defined dim containing two hierarchies. Properties are added and processed without any issues. However, when I subsequently try to process the member sheet, which has two new columns ("FormulaH1" and "FormulaH2"), I receive this error:
- Error occurs during UpdateRemainData. Invalid column name 'formula13'.
Column 13 in the member sheet contains the new "FormulaH2" property. (Column 12 has the "FormulaH1" property).
Any ideas what might be causing this error? I do see the new columns added to the mbr table. I've tried changing the property lengths and "In App" settings---get the same error when processing the member sheet.
Are there issues with added Formula properties to a user-def dim? Or, is there something else going on here?

Answered my own question....
I only need to add one property called "Formula". BPC will then add the H1 and H2 "property" columns in the member sheet.

Consolidation Dim 3 error mapping to cons chart

during consolidation processes, in DIM 3 this error was received:
Account/cost element GSCA 830117 cannot be mapped with cons chart G1
Message type__________ E (Error)

Message variable 2____ 830117
Message variable 3____ G1
830117 is a newly created SECONDARY cost element. CElem category 42 - assessments
Calc has run to reconcile CO to FI.
DIM 1 had no errors.
Any suggestions of what to look for? All help greatly appreciated.

We have noticed that the secondary cost element that is in question is the first secondary CE created after our upgrade from 4.0 to 5.0 -- is there a change as to how Cons in 5.0 handles 2nd CE?

Dim Build Error

There isn't any keywords or reserved words for dimensions, are there?
I'm building dimensions from a sql call, it creates all of them except for "OTHER" which gives the following error:
\\Record #10 - Incorrect Dimension (Region) for Member OTHER (3308) OTHER

This is a common problem in the essbase world and a reason many cubes have prefixing. Unless you are working in system 9.3 and have elected to allow duplicate names, you have simply used the name other twice in two different dimensions.
This is confusing to those with a relational database background because Other Region should be different from Other Product and Other Customer. You need to remember that the labels such as Othe can be used by an end user at anytime in any position. So you need to make each label in your database unique. The time tested process is to prefix (or suffix) all the members within a dimension. So all of your products could be prefixed with a P and all of your regions with an R. Or you could prefix with Prod or Product. As the moment you are only having the issue with Other, but it could happen when you have a saleman named West and a region West, etc. So the prefix solution allows you to have things run on autopilot.
Two other options, in the dimension build rule, you could change Other to Other Region. This is the easiest solution for a business owned application.
The other choice is to change your ETL so Other Region comes in your file as Other Region.

Parent child dim build error??

I'm loading members using parent child refernce method. My requirement is to load only level 0 members of already existed membesr from the outline.If data file has any new parent ,Essbase should kick out the new parent but should not load to the outline. Do we have any property for this in rule file or anywhere in EAS?

To echo Glenn, you could use other approaches to pull dimensionality out of Essbase -- Applied OLAP's Outline Extractor, MaxL's export outline, etc.. get that output into a table, and then write SQL to do the tests. There's nothing in a Load Rule that will do what you want. ODI is fine as well (I am a fan of the tool) but it isn't the only approach and at the end of the day, you will be writing SQL in ODI to do this test.

Error message for export to PDF in CS3 after os upgrade

I upgraded my Mac o/s to 10.6.8 -Snow Leopard - Now CS3 gives me an error when I try to export a file to PDF that says"PDF library failed to initialize" Adobe says that CS3 is compatible with snow leopard, but they don't troubleshoot CS3 anymore. Anybody have an idea on how to fix?

Uninstall InDesign. Uninstaller should be in Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers. Reinstall InDesign from your original media or your backup installer.

Error code -50 when trying to restore I touch after upgrading to IOS 5

I recently upgraded to IOS 5. Everything went fine until I tried to restore the I touch. I get a error message " A error occurred while restoring this IPOD (-50).   I looked threw apple support and found a couple of links. I'm running windows 7 with no third party security. I've tried a different USB port, I Tunes 10.5.3.3 , checked window for the latest upgrades and reset my computer.    When I plug my I touch in a window pops up and say I Tunes was interrupted while restoring the contents of the iPod would you like to restore again now? After clicking continue restore, the error message immediately pops up. Ran a sysnc test and it came back fine.   I don't know if this would help but here is the dionostics I tunes ran.

How do I install photoshop 3.0 onto windows 7 pro? Error message says it's not compatible. I'm upgrading from Windows XP.

I have to start with my first photoshop to upgrade to my latest version, but I can't because of incompatibility issues. Is there a way around this? Is there something that I need to change in windows 7 pro to accept photoshop 3.0?

Unfortunately, I'm talking about the Photoshop 3.0 from 20 years ago. I bought it during the "big hair" years, while I was still a toddler. I think that my Windows 7 Pro is x86. I do remember seeing something about 32-bit in the error message. Does this mean that I'm screwed and won't be able to transfer my Photoshop program from my old pc to my new pc?

0x80072ee4 error in Store for any app after Windows 8.1 Upgrade

Just in installed 8.1 directly from the Store (Win 8 Pro). Everything went smoothly.
Now when I go into the Store and try and install (or update, as it says apps are broken) any app, it says
"Something happened and your purchase can't be completed. Error code 0x80072ee4". No other details in Event log.
Plus it now want me to switch over to a MS account to install anything. I prefer a local account.

BPEL Console errors out after 10.1.3.4 MLR#9 8589928 upgrade

BPEL Console is completely down after upgrading from 10.1.3.3 to 10.1.3.4 using patchset# 7272722 and on top of it applying the MLR#9 8589928 patch. It errors out as follows:-

Table REPOLOAD does exist. I am investigating whether it has something to do with the SAPUSER table, but I would appreciate any other ideas anyone may have. I did not encounter this error until the phase ACT_700.

Thanks for your reply. I have looked at Notes 662644 and 400241 thoroughly and cannot find anything wrong with privileges for SAPR3 or SAPR3SHD, nor can I find anything wrong with the OPS$ mechanism.
