DIR Not display in easy DMS

Dear All,
i ahave created new user ID I am able to create /search the document (DIR) in easy DMS but that document has not display in public folder.
why ?

If you have created the new Document over the normal Gui the document is not automatically shown in easyDMS. Are you using the same access rights for the new user as for the old user?

regarding your questions I have to inform you that the reason for this is that the create document info record is not inlcuded in the document BOM (e.g. header EDIPUBLICFOLDER). So you would have to add the new DIR to the document structure first.
If you create a new document directly in EasyDMS then it will be automatically added to the related folder structure.
In the backend I think you can use the new document browser functionality in CV01N to create new documents which are also just added to a document BOM. Therefore please press the button 'Select Document via' in transaction CV01N and choose weither 'Browser' or 'Selection Screen and Browser'. In the context menu of the browser you will find to item 'Create'.

DIR, Folders not visible in Easy DMS

In Easy DMS 7, both public and private folders are visible but when I create any DIR or Folder within these public/private folders nothing is visible but in ECC its visible in document structure.
how to make this visible in Easy DMS?

Pass the private or public document keys to BAPI_DOCUMENT_GETLATEST2 and check if docstructure and documentdata tables are filled correctly.

We need to load 17 000 documents on SAP Easy DMS, Is there a mass upload functionality that we can use and What is the maximum number of documents can we drag and drop if the mass upload functionality is not available on Easy DMS?

Tumbnails in Easy DMS

Hi all,
I have a requirement, a thumbnails images should not be displayed in easy DMS. There is selection in user settings of easy DMS, by selecting which one can hide the visibility of thumbnails in easy DMS. Have have made the seeting accordingly. But when I tried to view files, tumbnails are getting displayed.
Also there are setting in customizing tab where we have to set a profile. The profile needs to be configured for displaying tumbnails in Easy DMS by mentioning file application type. I have mentioned file application type "yy" which have not mentioned in defining worksation application .
Then also when I am going into easy DMS, it is displaying Thumbnails.
Please help on above matter,

Thanks for reply. Yes tumbnails are getting displayed. Actually when we are storing file in content server through easy DMS, a tumbnail file is generated.
My requirement is , the tumbnail file should not get generated when I am saving the original application file in content reposirty.

DIR no. not showing after creation of DIR from Easy DMS

Dear Friends,
I could able to create DIR from Easy DMS. But I could not able to see DIR no. after creation, so that I do not document created or not ? If created what is the no. I need to open thru search or other way.
Is it standard functionality.
Can we change this by any functioanl module or any BADI implementation?

When you creating a DIR through Easy DMS it will ask you document type and description. In the same window as prasad mentioned 4th tab "Techinal Details" you can find the document number,document type, document part and document version. After creating the document it will create in the folder with all the remaining details with default layout.
e.g: Document Description | Status Description | Document Number | Type | Version | Part | User | Change Number ... other details.
Test | Create Document | 10000000304 | DOC | 00 | 000 |...etc
Please check the DIR while creating. Surely it will be available.

Easy DMS - object linking DIRs

Hi,
I'm implementing Easy DMS currently running version v6.0 SP9. Everything is working well with SAP DMS except for one thing, object linking.
I've read other threads but no help.
My issue is I want to be able to show a DIRs relationship with other DIRs in the object links.
Easy DMS allows this to a certain extent but its useless because all it does is display the related DIRs for this DIR, you cant action anything to display these other DIRs, where as if you do the same thing in SAP DMS, you can actually get a link to the referenced DIRs and when you click on it, it will automatically navigate you to the related DIR.
Why doesn't this work in EASY, or is simply just there for show, which I find a waste of time to be honest if object links are simply for show. The same goes if I want to attach a DIR to a material same problem.

to my knowledge,Navigation to a different dir which is attached as object link in easyDMS is not possible (like in SAP GUI).

Manual revision of DIR using Easy DMS

Hi gurus,
I am using Easy DMS 7.1 SP02. Document type in DMS have been set up using manual revision entries. All is working fine in the backend system when creating new version. The system allow you to enter a manual revision which could be eiter alpha numeric or only numeric or only alpha. My problem is that when creating a new version with Easy DMS, the system does not give me an option for a manual revision to be entered. Only error message.
Is there a specif Badi or user exit that is required to be implemented.

In migrating from an XP PC to a new Win 7 PC, I downloaded Firefox to the new PC and it worked fine - got my Gmail contacts, calendar, etc. Later I used Micros Soft's Windows Easy Transfer to move data, profiles, etc to the new PC. Then could log onto Gmail but it would not show Contacts or Calendar. I then uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it - nohelp, then I did a system to Restore to before I did the Windows Easy Transfer - no help, then I manually moved my Firefox Profile from the XP machine - no help. BTW at least one other website does not display correctly: http://www.hollandamerica.com/main/Main.action. NOTE - through all this Internet Explorer has shown these sites correctly.

Oops - for some reason, this problem now seems to have gone away. May have had something to do with Flash. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Easy DMS 6.00 SP09 - can not logon

Hi Gurus,
I am testing Easy DMS SP09 (and SP09 Patch 1), but everytime I want to logon the logon screen disapeers for a few seconds and then appears again and wants me to logon again.
When I press the cancle button I get a msg box with "unkown error".
I can use SP08 and all former versions without this problem so i guess something changed in SP09.
Does anyone of you has the same problem?

did you uninstall SP08 before you install SP09 patch 1?
If not, please uninstall EasyDMS once again and then install SP09 patch 1 again.
Please try to reset the RFC Cache as well and test if this is usefull. You will find the Reset button in the settings menu of EasyDMS.

Orcale Net8 Easy Config not display

I try to configure my forms builder to access the data base but when I click Oracle Net Easy Config , it is not display for me any thing to start the steps of configuration...any one have idea about the problem and how to solve

After the installation go to your oracle home directory or the
designer home directory and in that find the file called
tnsnames.ora (usually located in \\home\network or net80\admin\).
edit the file and add an entry something like below

where alias -> is aany name suffixed with .world.
hostname -> is the name of the host, if possible in the
hostname give the IP address of the machine.
oracledatabase_sid -> is the sid the oracle database to which
you will connect usual values would be ora817, orcl etc.

It is just conceivable you burned a CD that exactly matched one already in the Gracenote database. Gracenote uses track count and duration to decide what CD it is you have in a computer. If you have one that matches that it will label it. You could conceivably even have one that matches it that is not the correct one.

i have installed Easy DMS 6.0 SP11. In the search result, no classification data are shown. The problem doesn't exist in 6.0 SP03. Any idea?

Problem seems to be solved, perhaps by transports in the backend.

Easy DMS 6.0 SP09 - can not view .tif files

I have a problem concering viewing tif files. When I try to view a tif file the file, easy dms copies it to
the work directory but doesn´t view it. It works well with pdf, doc, etc.
With SP07 I can view tif files.
Any Ideas?

Which application do you use to view tiff-files ?

Easy DMS - problem with object linking (unicode client)

Hi Gurus,
I have a problem concerning linking a materialmaster to a DIR in a uniciode environment. I tested following scenarios:
1) Easy DMS 6.00 SP10 non unicode + non unicode Backend --> no problem
2) Easy DMS 6.00 SP10 non unicode + unicode Backend        --> no problem
3) Easy DMS 6.00 SP10 unicode        + non unicode Backend --> no problem
4) Easy DMS 6.00 SP10 unicode        + unicode Backend         --> problem
Following Problem appears in scenario 4:
Our Material Number Format is ______-____-___ (6 digits - 4 digits - 3 digits), "Lexicographical" is disabled, "Leading Zeros" is enabled.
When I type in material number "111111-2222-333" and press "check all objects and read description" Easy DMS reads the description for
111111-2222-333 but after that easy dms changes 111111-2222-333 to 000001-1111-122 and when I try to save the DIR it tells me that
000001-1111-122 is not a valid material master.
As I mentioned this only appears with the unicode client + unicode backend. Any Ideas?

please tell us which version of EasyDMS you use currently. If you do not use EasyDMS 6.00 SP10 I would kindly ask you to see SAP note 1105699 and download this SP from the Service Marketplace.
Further please check if you have maintained the object link customizing correclty in your backend system. Therefore please see the information in the SDN WIKI area for DMS under https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/plm/ca-dms-Object+link
