Disabled ipod and none of the suggested fixes are working!
My daughter entered her password wrong too many times and her ipod is now disabled. I've tried all the suggested fixes on the support page and nothing is working. When I try to restore it thru itunes it says it can't because it is locked with a password. I tried to erase it thru icloud, but the ipod is offline and I don't know how to get it online. I tried to soft reset, I tried to hard reset. Nothing! Help!
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Can't disable quick find, none of the regular fixes are working.
I've been running Firefox 23 with no problems for a while, and just discovered that I get a quick find prompt every time I type an apostrophe into text boxes. The "search for text" option in my tool panel is unchecked, and I have repeatedly tried opening dialogue boxes to reset quick find, but I still get prompted every time I hit a slash or an apostrophe. Ok, I've had this problem before and contacted Applecare support and they told me that it was an issue with the RAM inside the Mac or something like that. They told me to refresh the ram, and it fixed the problem so that's what I'd recommend. Here's how to do it.
Hit Power button, then press and hold Command + R + Option + P at the same time.
This resets the residual ram that is causing the start up to hang.
Try that, I hope it works for you.

FF Less stable than IE. Numerous crashes, the latest quirk is that it will open a new window with a website already working on and NONE of the iterations of FF work. Have to reboot computer because can't even exit FF. Fix it or on to Chrome.

As far as the Firefox SafeMode, you can't open it when Firefox is running ''(unless you open a separate Profile purposely)'', if you try all you will get is another window in the "regular mode".
You're not going to be able to discover the cause of your problem if you're unwilling to follow established troubleshooting procedures, regardless of how intermittent the fault occurs. I wouldn't be surprised of you have an add-on installed which is causing that problem.
Another course of action would be to create a new Profile, which is like starting from scratch with a completely new Firefox installation. <br />

Just downloaded Illustrator CC 2014 and none of the new features are showing up. Can anyone help? Thanks! I really need to figure it out so I can start using the awesome new features for Illustrator.
in creative cloud does it show as up to date? if not "Update illustrator"
if it does I would think about uninstalling illustrator and re-installing.

Since upgrading to v4 it seems that all of my bookmarks have not been copied across. I've tried the fixes posted to restore them but they don't work for me. I can find the bookmarks folder in Windows but it won't import.
My system is running Win XP SP3 with Pentium dual core processor with 1 Gb of RAM.Sorry, cor-el, but none of the suggestions worked. I tried deleting the more recent backups created by Firefox so that it would re-build the bookmarks from an earlier backup, but even this failed.
I'm going to try uninstalling Firefox 4 altogether then re-installing after first saving the last 'good' version of my bookmarks back-ups somewhere safe and replacing them later. I'll let you know how it goes.
If this doesn't work and unless someone can come up with a fix, I have to reconcile myself to the prospect that this latest version has trashed my bookmarks never to return - much to my disappointment and disgust. Firefox has never done this before and for me it has 'lost its edge' as a preferred brower. -
My computer updated to version 18.01. Now my "Restore Previous Session" option is gray. I have tried all of the suggested fixes. None of them bring it back. This is a very important option to me. How to I get it back?

Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

I recently replaced my screen and digitizer. Everything was still functioning well, even with the cracked screen. I opted to replace both screen and digitizer, since it appears to be quite the process to transfer the old digitizer to the new glass only. I also at this time, since I have one of the first waves of iPhone 5 (had it from day 1 of its release) decided to replace the wi-fi antenna, since I was already pulling the phone apart anyways. After performing what I feel to be a very successful replacement of both the wi-fi antenna and the screen/digitizer, none the side buttons work anymore! I have triple checked to make sure all ribbons are in place and everything appears to be in good order. I was very careful with the whole process, so can't imagine that anything was damaged. But now, the sleep/wake button, the mute slider button and neither of the volume buttons ( + or - ) work. I am assuming that all these function via different cables and/or contact points...? What could be the issue here?
Since the iPhone should not be opened or repaired by the user or another 3rd party without loosing the warranty or the Out-Of-Warranty Service option, we can only speculate, that one of the repair steps you took is the reason for the problems.
The only solution would be seeking help from a 3rd party repair shop and hope that they will be able to solve the issue. -
Eezdownloads virus found. None of the suggested fixes in other threads has fixed it.
I got the eezdownloads virus by accidentally typing a .com instead of .net at the end of a URL. I have tried all the fixes in the other threads about this virus, but nothing works.
Started by running ClamX AV. It found an .emix file. I trashed it and emptied the trash. Per the other threads, I then quit Safari (and I've Force Quit too, even though I didn't need to) and restarted holding the Shift key. The pop-up page comes right back. I've rebooted the computer many times to no avail. I have also run AdwareMedic as suggested in one thread. It found two files and I trashed them and emptied the trash. The problem persists, even after multiple reboots.
I can't delete and reinstall Safari because the computer won't allow it. Everything in Safari is greyed out, so I can't get into Preferences to reset Safari or do anything else. Any advice?It's not a virus. It's a JavaScript scam that only affects your web browser, and only temporarily. There are several ways to recover.
1. Some of those scam pages can be dismissed very easily. Press the key combination command-W to close the tab or window. A huge box will pop up. Press the return key and both the box and the page will close. If that doesn't happen, continue.
2. Press and hold command-W. You may hear repeating alert sounds. While holding the keys, click the OK button in the popup. A different popup may appear, which you can cancel out of as usual.
3. From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and uncheck the box marked Enable JavaScript. Leave the preferences dialog open.
Close the malicious window or tab.
Re-enable JavaScript and close the preferences dialog.
4. If the Preferences menu item is grayed out, quit Safari. Force quit if necessary. Relaunch it by holding down the shift key and clicking its icon in the Dock. None of the windows and tabs will reopen.
After closing the malicious page, from the menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
to get rid of any cookies or other data left by the server. Open your Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize. -
IPod frozen and none of the "5 r's" work
Please help.
I was listening to my ipod in my speakers and went to change the song when it just froze on me. I tried to reset it right away by holding the menu button. But now it is stuck on the main menu and even the back-light is on. I tried all five of the "r's" and none of them work. The computer won't recognize the iPod at all.

None of the facebook suggestions help. Every time I open facebook firefox crashes and often freezes my laptop.
I've made the switch to chrome and all is well.The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

I went to itunes for the 1st time in years and bought music. The updates removed all the songs on my ipod and did not downlaod my purchases. Instead I have a bunch of songs I never heard of. How do I reload my library on my ipod and get rid of the terrible junk that is on there now?
Was this a different computer/iTunes library than what it you had originally sync the iPod with? If so, that would explain why all of your content that WAS on your iPod was erased, since an iPod can only be synced with one iTunes library at a time.
As for your current predicament, you'll need to figure out how your iPod is configured to sync music and then adjust it so that the stuff you don't want on it is removed during the next sync operation and the music you DO want on it will be transferred over to it from iTunes.

Firefox shows blurry images (and none of the best-known solutions work)
No matter
* if I run Firefox under safe mode (plugins disabled),
* if I update my graphics drivers,
* or if I disable Harware Rendering under Advanced Options,
Firefox keeps showing blurry images.

This has been happening for a long time, even through several Firefox updates. None of the solutions I've found on the web (listed above) will fix this problem.
The image blur is tiring on the eyes, not being able to see images correctly is so annoying, and I hope someone can help me fix this issue.Changing Firefox's zoom behavior so you can enlarge just the text but not the images can lead to site layouts breaking. If you want to take a look:
View menu > Zoom > ''check'' Zoom Text Only
