Disappearing identities, emails look like page source

Please help!!! My kid's school, Kalani High School, has a virus or bug for over a month (still running rampant). Evidently emails get all messed up and need to be re-entered, etc. I thought that was odd since they all run on Macs, and Macs don't get viruses right?
Well, just a few days ago, I got it. Each time I open Netscape Explorer, I have to register, and on command-2 to open up my email accounts, I have to enter my incoming, outgoing servers as well as each address I use. My address book is intact.
Also, just prior to this happening, some of the emails looked like gibberish, and page sources. And only one looked okay. These have all disappeared since it seems everything disappears after I exit Netscape.
Any ideas or help?

Briansyddal - you might be able to manage your phone without a PC, but many of us can't, especially those of us with large iTunes libraries. How do you propose I manage my 250GB of music using only a phone? Maybe I could go out and buy 10 iPhones and spread my library out among them!
Catz537 - I have the same problem as you and I've spent hours on the web trying to find a solution to it. It was a problem with iOS 7 and 8.1.1 doesn't fix it. The the only advice from Apple is completely useless because it requires you, effectively, to delete and recreate your iTunes library and lose all your metadata, album art, notes etc and there's also no guarantee it will work. I wish I could be more help (even more - I wish Apple could be more help) - I updated to 8.1.1 at 1400 today. At 2200 I'm still "waiting for changes to be applied" for a measly 16GB of music transfer.

I know that how it looks on the other end depends on the fonts they have, but I was wondering what plain text emails look like by default in Outlook. I don't remember because, if I recall correctly, one of the things I had changed when I used to use that beast was setting the font to a fixed width like courier for plain text. Thanks for any info. I'm just curious whether my plain text messages will look strange to my clients.

I use me.com email to get it pushed to my phone, ipad, etc.
When sending an email, how can I make it look like it's from my "real" email address, and not my me.com address?

You can't: the iCloud server won't allow it.

My iPad has a series of thin black lines running across the right side of the screen. They look like pages in a book.

I installed the latest update, and tried to reply to an email right after. The email looked like a bunch of cymbals, arrows, font names, parts of the email. So I opened it up with Internet Explorer, and all was normal. How do I get this fixed?

The latest update was the source of the problem. I was replying to emails, and the update popped up. I updated. I continued to reply to emails, and the whole page had arrows, symbols, brackets, font names, red correction lines, etc.

I look at it like this, it was a solution to my problem. There is obviously something wrong with the new version. When everyone starts complaining, and some genius figures out the fix, then I will worry about the upgrade. Until then, I am fine with running 4.0. I have to disagree with you though. 6.0 is a downgrade for sure. There is a lot to be desired compared to this version. Who wants price gong, and screwed up emails. Not me. The problem is out there, and now someone needs to work on the bug fixes on this BETA version.

BT Family Protection email - looks like phishing

I thought BT would know better than to send an email titled 'Important information about your online security' with a link to download software. It's exactly the sort of thing they should be telling users not to do.

I received the same email. If you look at all of the links in the email, they don't work (they're null). It's bogus. The sender wants you to open the attached HTML page. I forwarded the email to [email protected] along with the email's headers.

How do I make an animated slide show that looks like pages of a scrapbook turning?

I am learning CS6 to make a website for the summer camp I run. On the main page I want a scrapbook that will open and show pictures of the kids having fun... how can I do this??

Take a look at FlippingBook, which is an extremely good application. This is also not Flash based so works in all devices.

You would need to create it as a standalone page and then add an iFrame to the page you want it displayed on to have it inside your web page template.
An easier way and maybe more versatile would be to just have a gallery on your page and animate it with CSS3. This is an example.

BlackBerry Internet Service issues (O2 Telefonica CZ): Gmail emails looks like a **bleep** now

This is a nightmare! From yesterday i've receive emails from my GMail mailboxes like a **bleep**:
No SUBJECT
No FROM
BODY no decoded, it is in Base64 encoding
Trying to send email - my recipients can't read them! They unreadable.
From morning there is no emails in my inbox
Called to carrier, spend more than 2 hours - their support is POOR. "Resend service books, reset device" - this is all what they can offer.
RIM, please send technician to that carrier or do something.

There has been a BIS issue going on over the last couple of days -- I've yet to see if it still is present this morning...see this site:

I have a 4th Gen. nano. The screen is constantly disappearing. It looks like a film behind the glass screen. As it deteriorates, I can read less and less on the screen. What is that called and can it be repaired?

I have a 4th generation nano. The black screen behind the glass screen seems to be cracked and constantly disappearing. It started in the corner and is working its way across the top of the screen. The titles will disappear soon. What do I need to have reapaired?

With the external screen connected and turned on, open the Displays pane in System Preferences. On the screen containing your menu bar, you should now see a Displays preference dialog box with an "Arrangement" tab in it. Click the Arrangement tab. Uncheck the box for "Mirror Displays," or make sure it is already unchecked. In the image within the preferences dialog box you should see two adjoining blue rectangles representing your two screens. A white bar on one representes the menu bar and indicates that that is the primary display. The larger rectangle represents your TV screen. If it's on the right side of the smaller rectangle representing your MBP's screen, then dragging a window off the right side of the built-in screen will move the window onto the TV.
Now open any application window — a web browser window, for example — and drag it by its title bar to move it off the edge of your built-in screen onto the TV screen. Got that? You can do the same thing with any other window, including a DVD Player or VLC window containing a movie that you want to watch.
Things to note: In this dual-display mode, which is called Extended Desktop mode, the menu bar and Dock will always appear on only one of the screens, and you can choose which one they appear on by dragging the white bar representing the menu bar from one rectangle to the other in the System Prefs > Displays > Arrangement tab. You can also set the resolutions of the two screens independently of each other. The highest available resolution on each screen will always provide the sharpest image.

I have a 3g. Recently I synched for the first time. I also upgraded the software to 4.2.1 The sync took my photos and music off my phone. The photos worked fine. The music has disappeared. It looks like my iphone itunes isn't functioning at all

Now I have no music on my phone, and my computer has seemed to lose the music that was uploaded (It was there for a bit, now gone). I think I should undo the software upgrade. How do I do that?

Sending email using mail that looks like a web page

I want to send an email that looks like a web page (kind of like those emails from apple or other companies). I tried making a document in Pages, but then that didn't quite work. Of course, I could make the pages document into a pdf file, but that's not ideal. Any recommended application?
