Starting Discoverer from Oracle E-Business-Suite R12
Hi!
At the moment im integrating Oracle Discoverer 10g with Oracle E-Business-Suite R12. (Metalink Note: 373634.1)
But how do i start Discoverer from E-Business-Suite?
Is there a spezial responsibility or a spezial link?
Or do i have to start discoverer as standalone server:port/discoverer/viewer?
But in this case, how can i connect to the e-business-suite-database?
Is there any Metalink Note for this? (eg. Using Discoverer 10g with E-Business-Suite R12 Users Guide?)
Thank you for your help!
Best regards,
ThomasHi,
Check that your ICX Discoverer profiles are set correctly and check Note 278095.1 for how to link to workbook.

How to link discoverer report to E-Business Suite
Good day
I followed instructions as stipulated in document number doc 278095.1 and doc 433397.1.
However i dont understand the link between the two.Actual im still new in oracle.
If i understand correctly doc 433397.1 is used to register the discoverer workbook to OracleOasis.RunDiscoverer
package and i created the function using this parameter
'workbook=XX_LEAVE_LIABILITY&PARAMFORM=HTML' ....I do not know if is necessary to put the inverted commas.
and assign it to a certain menu .
I have created another function following 278095.1 instructions but i do not know how does the two functions link.
Because for doc 433397.1. the Properties tab TYPE is 'SSWA plsql function opens in new window (Kiosk Mode)
whereas for doc 278095.1 is ''SSWA plsql function'
and the form parameter for doc 278095.1 is ''workbook=XX_LEAVE_LIABILITY&PARAMETERS=sheet~1*' .
The function name is there assigned to a responsibility but i can not access the discoverer report it retuns message "Unable to authenticate session'Hi,
The ICX parameters can be updated by going to the System Profile form on the System Administor menu.
Basically, the way the OracleOasis.RunDiscoverer function works is that it checks the ICX profiles from the user and builds a URL to start up Discoverer. It then adds to the end of the URL the workbook details from the form function so that the URL opens the workbook and supplies the parameters to the workbook.
So if the ICX: Discoverer Use Viewer profile is set to Yes then the function takes the URL in ICX: Discoverer Viewer Launcher. Hence you need to check that this URL (which should look like http://<HTTP Server>:<Port>/discoverer/viewer) actually launches Discoverer. The ?Connect=[APPS_SECURE] needs to be added to this URL so that Discoverer is launched without the need to reenter username/password.
It then concatenates the values in the ICX: Discoverer End User Layer and ICX: Discoverer End User Layer Language Override e.g. EUL_US to create the Discoverer EUL owner. The EUL parameter is then added to the URL so that Discoverer is started using this EUL.
Finally, the value in the parameter field in the form function is used to add the worksheet selection and if necessary worksheet parameter selection parameters onto the URL.

Link discoverer reports with E-businees Suite R12
Can anyone help me with this statement
3.3.3 Parameters : mode=DISCO&workbook=<workbook identifier from step2>¶meters=Disco parameter name M~Parameter M Value*
what am i suppose to put in "parameter name " is it the worksheet name?Hi,
First, check MOS note 471303.1 for details of how to link Disco workbooks in R12.
The parameters option can be used to to set the worksheet and the parameters for the workbook. For example,
¶meters=ws=worksheet*param1~param1value*param2~param2value

Displaying BLOB (image) data in BI Publisher Report - E-Business Suite R12
Hi All,
As part of E-Business Suite R12.1.3 upgrade, I need to develop a PO printout report using MS Word BI Publisher Desktop Plugin. The report needs to include images (signatures) from the database based on requisition approvers.
How can I build a custom view and a template to use with an RTF report and include dynamic images in it? Is it possible?
Thanks,
Sinanyes, it is possible
look at Inserting BLOBs into your report
steps:
- create data definition with query with blob (say image) in xmlp
- create empty template and load it into xmlp resp
- create concurrent
- run concurrent
- save xml
- use BI Publisher Desktop with xml data for construct template layout
- load template layout to xmlp resp
another way
- if image in os you can try to use OA_MEDIA + image name

E-business suite R12 and webcenter integration
Hello,
We are integrating E-business suite R12 with webcenter.
We followed the steps from the white paper: https://support.oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&id=1074345.1&type=NOT
We successfully completed step 1 through 4 and we are stuck at step 5 ( Configure E-Business Suite for WebCenter Integration )
We edited the AutoConfig Context File ($CONTEXT_FILE) to Specify WebCenter host in variable "List of nodes that have access to Portlet Producer URLs"
Here is the sample change:
<trusted_portals oa_var="s_trusted_portals" customized="yes">ap123sun.us.oracle.com ap456sun.us.oracle.com</trusted_portals>After doing this, when we try to access WSDL URL: http://[Release_12_host]:[port]/OA_HTML/portlets/WSRPBaseService?WSDL, we are getting '403 Forbidden' error. Also, accessing http://<EBS_HOST>:<PORT>/OA_HTML/providers/OAFrameworkProvider is returning '403 Forbidden' error
Please let us know if we missed any step.Hussein,
Database Version is RDBMS 11.2.0.2; Oracle EBS Version is R-12.1.3; OS is HP-UX Itanium 64-Bit Version 11.31 (for DB and Apps Tier).
We bounced the application services after doing the above changes and running AutoConfig.
We checked access_log and the only information that we can find there is

ThanksYes, the document to follow is Oracle E-Business Suite Software Development Kit for Java (includes AppsDataSource, Java Authentication and Authorization Service, session management) Readme - Patch 13882058 (Doc ID 974949.1).
This document says:

How to disable direct forms access in Oracle E-Business Suite R12.1.3
@Hussein Sawwan
Hi Hussein,
I don't know if I have well formulated the title of this discussion. But I will try to explain.
I have a problem on my TEST Oracle E-Business Suite R12.1.3 instance. After login into the homepage, some forms automatically start opening. I don't know why, last week the system was working fine. This TEST instance is used by users to train themselves.
How can I make sure that the forms are opening only when someone clicks on them? I don't want the forms to be popping out automatically after someone logs in.
Thanks in advance.
Clamarion.Hi Clamarion,
Login as those users and check the preferences, or you can check the value from the backend (through FND_USER_PREFERENCES table).

Given:
E-Business Suite R12.1 running against non-RAC database release 11gR2
Aspiration:
E-Business Suite R12.1 running against database release 12c RAC on Exadata
In the context of Oracle best practices, what would be a preferred approach for the database tier to meet the above aspiration, i.e. (a) Upgrade database on source and then migrate to Exadata OR (b) Migrate database to Exadata and then upgrade ?
Appreciate thoughts from community members/Oracle support.
Thanks,
RakeshRakesh,
It is necessary to refine Srini's statement:
EBS does not need to be "certified" on Exadata. See:
Running E-Business Suite on Exadata V2
https://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/entry/e-business_suite_exadata_v2
E-Business Suite 11i, 12.0, and 12.1 are certified with Database 12.1.0.1.
E-Business Suite 12.2 will be certified with Database 12.1.0.1 soon.
