Display attribute incorrectly reported as "not assigned" in BEX Analyser

Hi SCN
I have a simple BEX query on a master data infoobject which displays the object key and several display attributes. One of the attributes is often reported incorrectly as "not assigned" although the behaviour is erratic and can sometimes be correct from day to day. I have checked the master data table and there should be a value ... when I run the report in RSRT, the attribute is correctly reported !
I have checked the infoobject in RSRV for errors (all lights are green), deleted the cache and set the report to not use caching in RSRT but the attribute is still frequently "not assigned"
all very weird ... any thoughts ?

Designed Reports are not showing in the Analysis Report List

I have designed one report as per our client requirement, and assigned also, but its not showing in the analysis reports list.May i know what setting needs be done to appear in the reports list?.

The Analysis -> Reports shows a list of views. Hence, once you create a report you need to complete two mandatory steps.
1. Create a View

DP_1 is not assigned to Chart&Analysis on executing BW query in web from Qu

Hi,
While executing BW query in portal from query designer, is giving error that DP_1 is not assigned to Chart and Analysis web item. And is not showing any output.
Standard web template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN is used as template for adhoc queries.
But if I execute any web template (standard or customised) from WAD (web application designer) is not giving any error DP_1 related.
Any inputs is much appreciated.

Hi,
Generally, after creating query in query designer, you can execute in browser.
But to run in WAD, you have to create web template and assign Data Provider(Query) to it. This also you can execute in browser(nothing Portal).
The reason for your error is: you have not created web template for your query it seems.

Hierarchy showing not assigned in Bex report

Hi all,
I created an hierarchy on an infoobject, I included this infobject in a cube without populating the hierarchy infoobject in the cube (as I only need it for selection in the variable screen).
However the hierarchy is showing unassigned without relevant nodes; all the nodes are active in the H table.
how can I get the hierarchy to show in the variable screen or report?
please any suggestions on this?

In the Query Designer, you can restrict characteristics by hierarchy or by hierarchy node, on a fixed or variable basis.

To display '000100' as '000100' and not '100' in BEx Analyzer Queries

Hi,
I need to show on the query report value '000100' (seen in ODS) as '000100' (on BEx). But on the report I get '100'. What setting/action needs to be done for this.

Hi,
Check porperties of the corresponding infoobject. If it is a 'CHAR' type data element, it should already behave as you require.
You may also check whether any 'ALPHA' conversion routine is applied (infoobject properties, main tab). If yes, you may think about removing this.

"not assign" problem in report for attributes

I have a problem to display attributes in report, both navagational and attribute-only attributes. I checked the Char, which is assigned attributes and attributes' text table and master table. All records are right. I don't know what's problem and how to check where is the problem?

You have added this new attributes to an infoobject, add filled with all your data. but you need to activate the master data for this infoobject!
You do this in the RSA1 selecting the infoobject and click with the right bottom and select the activate master data.
After that yoor data is available for working with it.

'Not assigned' Value is appearing in Report?

Hi Folks,
Let me go through the whole scenerio so that it would be easy to answer you people.
There was one IO by 0CAT_GROUP for this there was already data was available.Due to some changes in the requerement we have created one navigational atteribute to the above mentioned IO ie ZCAT_TYPE.To update the cat group based on the cat type we have written a routine in the trafer rule of the 0cat_group saying if another fields 0cat_cat is '1','2', and '3' then it is 'preventabl'
and if it is '4','5','6' then it is 'Non preventable'.If it is other than above two then it is 'Others'.
1.Our routine is working fine.As per the code but we are getting in the report another field called 'Not assigned'.
2.As per the our code we should not get 'Not assigned'?
3.As per my understanding as already 0cat-group is having values which not fallling any of the above three catagories(Preventable,Non preventable and Others) that is being called in the report as 'Not assigned'.
Please clarify my doubt?
Points wil be definitley assigned.

Values coming from Master Data
1)Preventable
2)Non Preventable
3)Othrs
4)......(which is blank)
In 4th case you write simple routine, if BLAN then fill "NO VALUE" else pass values as it is. So you will get some value, anyway this is Master data in next time the data will come for 4th one then it will load to that field.

I need to create a query on not assigned costelement hierarchy and broadcast the output through E-mail.
The query I created, displays the not assigned costelements under a separate node (filtered in query as #) but the problem is that the not assigned cost elements appear as u201C#u201D.
I want to get the details of these not assigned cost elements i.e. the query should display which cost elements are not assigned in the hierarchy. I couldnu2019t find the node REST_H (which I believe is created automatically for not assigned elements) in my hierarchy. How do I display the not assigned costelements in my query ?
One way I could think of is to compare the master data table and the hierarchy table of the InfoObject 0Costelement. The entries which are present in the master data table but not in the hierarchy tables are the unassigned costelements I am looking for.

But the option "Suppress 'Unassigned' Node" is used to either display not-assigned node or not.
But my requirement is to mandatorily display not-assigned node with the "DETAILS" of not-assigned costelements. I believe that by default the not-assigned costelement appears as # in the query. I want the details...i.e. which costelements are not-assigned.

Hi,
But I believe this setting "Suppress Unassigned nodes" is used to show or hide the unassigned node in the query. It has nothing to do with the display of # value or the actual unassigned costelements.
I want to get the "DETAILS" of the unassigned costelements which are appearing as # in the query.

Report Does Not Follow Select Column Order

Hi all,
Apex 2.2 on 10gXE
I always encounter this problem, the display column on report does not follow the select column sequence order in the "region source".
It is very tedious clicking the up/down arrow one-by-one in the "report attributes" especially if the display columns are plenty like 40 columns.
Is there a fix/patch or alternative tips for this bug?

This is not a bug. APEX maintains the original column order of the report. This avoids problems downstream in areas like the processing of <tt>g_fnn</tt> arrays in declarative tabular forms, where the assigned arrays are column-order dependent.
APEX 4.x fixes column ordering bugs that could lead to report corruption, and includes drag-and-drop column ordering in the new tree view in addition to the up/down arrow re-ordering.
If you really want column order to follow that in the source query, the workaround is to create a new report using the modified query.

Most Popular Items Report: items listed in report are not the document names or titles

I have a document library that's loaded with typical corporate ppt, word, and pdf files. When I run a Most Popular Items report on the library, the list of items displayed in the report are not the document file names or document titles.
Instead, the report is showing information that seems to pulled from within the content itself.
For example, there's a new corporate ppt template in the document library and the Most Popular Items report shows the sharepoint url for the ppt file as being one of the most popular items. Let's say that the file is named Standard_ppt_template.ppt.
The url for one of the most popular items reflects that in the URL. However, the item is listed in the Most Popular Item as "Company Confidential". The report seems to be pulling the words "Company Confidential" listed in the
footer of the ppt template and showing that as the most popular content item.
Is there a reason or setting why the Most Popular Items report is not returning a list of items based on either the file name or the document title?

According to your post, my understanding is that the PPT files items in the “Most Popular Items” report display these items’ names seem to be pulled from the PPT files’ content.
Per my test, the Word, Excel, PDF, .txt, .png files items in the “Most Popular Items” report will display these items’ names based on the corresponding items’ title value if they have, or the corresponding file name if these items don’t have the title value.
However, it’s by design that the PPT files items in the “Most Popular Items” report will display these items’ names only based on the beginning of these PPT files’ content rather than these files’ names and the corresponding items’ title value.

0ORGUNIT Hierarchy and Not Assigned

Hello Everyone,
I am using 0ORGUNIT and the associated ORGEH hierarchy.
I execute my query with a date of 01/01/2006 - 12/31/2006 and the Org Unit hierarchy display always shows :
Organizational Unit
   Not Assigned Organizational Unit (s)
   1000            Division South
   1001            Division SouthEast
Why do I always get the 'Not Assigned Organizational Unit (s) displayed? Even if I change my date range it doesn't matter.
I did notice that if I go into RSD1 for 0ORGUNIT and maintain hierarchy the short description for this hierarchy is displayed in German. Could this be it? If so, how to translate?

Change from display attribute to compounding attribute

Hi,
I have 3 info objects as display attributes of another infoobject. I want to change them to be compunding attribute instead of display attribute but I'm not able to delete them from the attributes list. Please let me know how can that be done.

Hi,
you need to empty the master of the IObj for which you want apply your changes.
Delete its master data.
Of course you'll need to delete first all the objects (cubes, ods, or other IObjs) where this IObj is used...

CRVS2010 Beta - Crystal Report does not work with VS 2010

After having installed vs 2010, as mentioned, I dowloaded crsytal report . But when trying to create a new crystal report object, I have a html page displayed but crystal report does not start. I would like to know how to make crystal report start to create new report ?
