Display chinese word on ALV

I have a program that will generate a report in ALV format, some of fields included chinese word, can't show properly, but it can be shown properly when export to spreadsheet. How can i display those chinese word in ALV report? Thanks!

Hi,
In GUI_UPLOAD function module there is an import parameter "CODEPAGE" , here if you pass the code page for chinese character then you will be able to view the chinese character after uploading the excel sheet and storing it in the internal table.
Specify the code page parameter explicitly (in case the files are to be read or written in a specific code page).By default the codepage of the Operating system is picked up if nothing is specified. Sample code as follows:
Data : fend_filename type string ,
p_rcpage type abap_encoding.
call function 'GUI_UPLOAD'
exporting
filename                      = fend_filename
filetype                        = 'ASC'
*      HAS_FIELD_SEPARATOR           = ' '
*      HEADER_LENGTH                 = 0
read_by_line                  = 'X'
*      DAT_MODE                      = ' '
codepage                      = p_rcpage
*      IGNORE_CERR                   =  ABAP_TRUE
*      REPLACEMENT                   = '#'
*    IMPORTING
*      FILELENGTH                    =
*      HEADER                        =
tables
data_tab                      = itab.
ret_code = sy-subrc.
I am not so sure but If it is set to Chinese, it uses code page 4102 (Unicode). Else find the corresponding code page using FM NLS_GET_FRONTEND_CP.
Hope this helps.

• Chart Linear Axis's title(Description) is not displaying chinese words!

Recently on my project's end there is a need to translate the current english web portal to chinese web portal . In the middle of the transition , i found that i had a difficulty to replace the Linear Axis description with chinese words , the initial code i had use to declare the english version linear axis description is shown as below:
<mx:verticalAxis>
<mx:LinearAxis labelFunction="linearAxis_labelFunc" title="Population" displayName="Population">
</mx:LinearAxis>
</mx:verticalAxis>
Then i replace the chinese words into the title and displayname , and this should be a very straight foward change. Eventually when i compile and run , the chart's linear axis doesnt shows up any words at all .
for testing purpose , i had actually try to insert the chinese words in between the english words example:
<mx:verticalAxis>
<mx:LinearAxis labelFunction="linearAxis_labelFunc" title="P(Chinese words here)opul(Chinese Words here)ation" displayName="P(Chinese Words here)opul(Chinese Words Here)ation">
</mx:LinearAxis>
</mx:verticalAxis>
Eventually the results only shows the description " Population ",
I had try to drag the chart to be way more larger to see if there is an alignment problem on the description, but still the chinese words is not appearing. So far i had no problem in inserting the chinese words into the panel title , label , and other table axis . I only have problem on the CHART'S LINEAR AXIS DESCRIPTION. it seems like the compiler is ignoring it ! i am currently using Adobe Flex Builder 3 Professional . Please Help me ! This is Urgent !

• How to display chinese word when i logon in EN?

Hi!
I have a report that can upload an excel file using BAPI. Excel file will be extracted to an internal table at first and this excel file will contain chinese characters. When I logon to EN and run the report, I debug the internal table and found that my chinese characters become ????. But if i logon on chinese - ZH, i can see them clearly.
however, for the same report, I tested on my friend's PC (vendor company). He logon to EN as well, but can see the chinese character very clearly.
I check on RZ10, his development server profile has zcsa/system_language = E, zcsa/installed_languages = 12DEMH
My develpment server is zcsa/system_language = E, zcsa/installed_languages = 12DEMZH
My friend as an ABAPer has no idea on how the settings in developemt server work. Did I miss out somethings that disallow me to see the chinese characters in an internal table when i logon in EN?
Can anyone help me to figure out this problem? Thanks a lot!
best regards,
ying ying

Hi!
I know the reason I can't see chinese characters during debugging if I logon to English SAP system.
I should click "Customizing Local Layout" at application bar --> Character Set --> Simplified Chinese. Those chinese characters that appear in ??? while debugging will change to proper chinese characters and uploaded successfully.
If I go to FB03 and see the chinese characters in »áÒéÆڼ俧·È·ÑÓÃ, perform the same steps and those weird code will change to proper chinese as well.
Thanks for all the replies and help. It's very appreciated. Thank you very much!

• Topics not displayed in HTML Help after importing bilingual (Eng, Simp Chinese) word doc

Hi all:
I imported a bilingual (English, Simplified Chinese) word
document (Windows XP) into Robohelp and split topics based on
Headings. This was successful and I could see both English and
Chinese characters in the topic sections.
When I generated HTML Help and reviewed the output, the TOC
was displayed properly, but the topics could not be found for all
topics in the TOC.
I had installed the language packages in Windows XP.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I wonder if this is nothing to do with language but because
you are viewing the CHM across a network.
If that is the case, see this article.

Hi hlj_zhj
Oh your method works, I change the Gb2322 to Big5,
and I have a question about your "return shift", shift is not defined in your part of programme, so I change to follows:
private String getISO(String gbstr){
String temp=null;
try{
String temp_p = gbstr;
byte[] temp_t = temp_p.getBytes("Big5");
temp = new String(temp_t, "ISO8859-1");
catch(Exception e){}
return temp;
ANOTHER question, Some of my BIG5 words contains "Hong Kong Words,eg:`", therefore, using temp_p.getBytes("Big5") not work in this case, do you have any suggestion in this case? thanks

• Need help in Displaying Chinese Character in JSF

Hi. Good Morning!
I'm having problem with displaying Chinese Characters in JSF. I've tried placing all the chinese words in the *.properties file however it doesn't work..
The result in the browser is something like this.

Hi,
When you say that you put Chinese characters in
*.properties files, can you be more specific? Did
you use native2ascii to convert the files to ASCII?
What is the character encoding setting for the JVM?
Have you sniffed the HTTP headers? If so, what's the
character encoding listed for the response?
Answers to these questions should help you nail down
the problem.
Regards,
PeterHi...
I did not use any converter like native to ascii... an example of what I placed in the properties file is:
title : 以下5种标签的表面要求列样

NoteA= 印商标图
then when i build the project in linux it turns out to be like this:
title= ???
Request=???
Tablehead=???
Note1= ???
Note2= ???
NoteA= ???

• Chinese Word list Update 1.5 not downloaded and installed automatically

On my Macbook Pro with Retina display 15 inches running OSX 10.8.3, an update called "Chinese Word list Update 1.5" show up on Update available list in Appfresh application. But when I click on install, Mac APp Store open to search for that update, but it end up with "No update available"
When I click Software Update from Apple menu, the same thing with No update available occurred.
On my system information, I have Chinese Wrd list Update 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1nd 1.4 installed. But I can't get this 1.5 Chinese Word list Update to automatically downloaded and installed as in the previous version
Where can I download chinesewordlistupdate.pkg version 1.5 for manual installation? I cannot find it anywhere on APple support website
This problem always occured when a new Chinese Word list Update is released. Why Apple won't make this update available for manual download or thru normal process of software update? Why Apple has to make this very suspicious update? I can't find answer anywhere on the Internet
Can any expert here point me to download this chinesewordlistupdate.pkg version 1.5 so that I can manually install it please

Any advise
Perhaps it would help if you would do a few things to make sure the Apple update system knows that your machine needs to do Chinese. This includes a) check the boxes to activate the simplified and traditional input sources in system preferences/language & text/input sources, b) download the additional 10 chinese fonts which Apple provides only when you try to enable them in Fontbook, and c) download the additional chinese voices which Apple provides only when you check their boxes in system preferences/speech/system voice/customize.
It might also help to temporarily switch the OS interface to Chinese and then check for software updates.

• Display Chinese Characters

What needs to be done to make PRS-950 display Chinese characters in MS Word format? Please help!

The Reader can display text written in English fonts and other Latin-based languages such as Spanish, French and German, however it cannot display Chinese characters on text based files. The Reader does support PDF documents in other languages however, so Chinese PDF files should display fine.

• Displaying Chinese read from resource bundles

I have trouble displaying Chinese characters in my application. The text strings in the application that is shown to the user are put into resource bundles (ResourceBundle). In the file text_zh_TW.properties, the chinese text strings are located. The file is stored in UTF-8 format.
When I fetch a chinese string from this file and display it in the GUI, it is not dispalyed properly. It is displayed almost like this '>'.
When I "format" the file by using native2ascii, the chinese chars are replaced by unicode escape numbers in the file. Then it works. But I will rather not format the file, because it makes maintanence more difficult.
I'm using JBuilder as development tool.
Does anyone know how to do this?

u are just trying to do nothing but the internalisation concept. usually wat we do is that for example if we want o display any french language or german language we just use go to the corresponding trnslating websites and fetch those french words or any other corresponding language and use to store those words .properties file and after that we will display those words for the selected language.
now ur problem is that as we dont have chinese letters in our keyboards u just go to the sites which will translate those words u mention and u just take a print screen and convert those words by cutting using mspaint and save it as .jpg file format and display those wods correspondingly....

How do I get my conky to display Chinese? I have some Chinese songs and the mpd thing in conky just shows the artist's names as boxes. I have scim pinyin installed, by the way.
