Display of repeating frames is not proper--a litle urgent

hi,
I have a report run as a form-letter.Now i have two repeating frames, after i run the paper layout ,one repeating frame appears in the first page (as expected)but the other repeating frame appears in the second page[b] but a little lower that where it should apppear..this is the problem, I have tried changing all the properties, but all in vain.I feel that the second repeating frame appears exaclty at the same position as the first one.Please help...

Repeating frame does not shift upwards !

Hi , i have a simple report which is built in a parent-childern pattern .
the layout consists of parent repeating frame and inside it a child repeating frame.
the parent and the child frames has a print on the first of the enclosing object property set.
in the first page the parent and the child frame are printed together well.
the outcome in the second page should be 2 child frame printed one after the other since
the parent frame is not printed and therfore should shift the first child frame upwards taking it's place
and by that leaving space to print the one after it .
instead only one child frame is printed in the same location as the previous one.
i have tried every possible combination of values in all of the properties of each repeating frame ,
including adding and removing regular frame that encloses the repeating frames .
nothing help.
it is a very important report and need help urgently.

i just resized the whole report and it worked .

[SOLVED] Report Repeating Frame Will Not Print More Than One Page of Data

I have a layout which contains only 1 repeating frame, and is not contained in any other frames. The query that the group of this frame is based on returns 414 rows. The report is a character based report of 180x66. All of the fields in the repeating frame are all in a straight line on a single row.
No matter what I do, the report ends at the bottom of the first page. If I put the frame at row 30, only 36 rows are printed. If I put the frame on the first row, it stops at 66. No mater what I do, it will not continue on the next page.
Any ideas on what could be the problem here?

Print condition was set to All. Changing it to First solved the problem.

Make sure the repeating frame is variable vertically and that all the frames that it encloses are variable.

Repeating frame(s) not continuing to next page

Here is what I have:
grp 1 r-frame 1
grp2 r-frame 2
grp3 r-frame 3
grp4 r-frame 4
r-frame 5
r-frame 6
r-frame 7
grp1 r-frame 1 will not continue to the next page when I have multiple grp3
r-frame3 records (there will be 1 record for 1 of the frames under that, the others are suppressed). grp 4 has page protect and contract, grp3, grp2 and grp1 has page protect and variable. I am trying everything to get it to continue to the next page and it won't. The example is it will produce only 12 of the grp3 and underlying records when there are 36 grp3 records. Is it something really stupid that I am missing or can I get a couple of hints as to why?

Hi,
I tried to understand your question and you want to continue grp-3 to next page, and you are expecting to print one grp-4 on each page along with 1,2 and 3.
The way you set the properties look fine. but what I can suggest is:
Please set all frames properties to "Vertical Elasticity to Expand" and "Page Protect to NO".
Now start setting the two properties as you like from child (most detailed) frame to top most parent frame and keep checking output for every change.

Why did the Share dialogue change from display in a frame to not displayed in a frame

Hello,
SharePoint 2013 via TFS install package which installed SharePoint Central Administration v4 and a default SharePoint team site. This is my system:
When I initially started working with my default SharePoint Team Site (SharePoint - 80) and clicked on SHARE, I was able to see the Share dialogue in a
popup frame. I added a single user to the site. I also stopped the site in order to start the Default Web site; I had to do that because I guess both sites are default installed
with the same port number. Then I stopped the Default Web site and restarted the default SharePoint Team Site. I have no idea if these steps are related, I just thought I should mention them.
I later noticed that the Share dialogue no longer appears in a pop-up. Instead I get the following:
Why did this change? Can I change it back? (It's not important to me to change back, I just want to know if I can). If not, why not?
I also notice that this dialogue in a new window behaves oddly. After I add a group or user and click Share, the new window returns to a blank page. I have to close that page and reopen the Share dialogue to add another entity. Is this
normal?

Not something i have observed.
if you can recreate the issue. check what you see in event log and ULS logs.
also share fiddler \ httpwatch traces

Non repeating frame - when/how to use

Hi,
How do I use a non repeating frame on it's own.
I have one query in which I have selected 3 fields.
In the paper layout, I have placed 3 fields in a non repeating frame.
When I run the report, I get a REP-1213 error - Filed 'xxx' at frequency below its group.
When I place the 3 fields ina repeating frame, it works, because the repeating frame property inspector allows me to enter the group and the non repeating frame does not.
So, my question is, when and how does one use a non repeating frame.
I need to understand the principle behind it.

You mainly use regular frames to group objects together or prevent them from being overwritten. Check the help on About Frames.

Collapse of Repeating frame

My Problem is like this,
I have 3 repeating frames,
In Repeating frame one i have R.F two,
In Repeating frame two i have R.F three,
If i didnt find any data in Repeating frame
two and three i want to collapse all repeating frames,
How can i do this?

Hi guys,
Check the properties-sheet for the repeating frames and the group-repeating frames.
In the property sheet look for the vertical sizing property. Set it to variable. In that case if no records are found, no space is allocated for the frames. If you're using expand then a minimum space is allocated, i.e. if no records are found then the space in the lay-out editor your are using for displaying the repeating frame is allocated.
If there aren't any records in repeating frame 2 and 3 and you want to surpress repaeting frame 1 use summary-columns in the groups on which you base repating frame 2 and 3.
In the format-trigger of repating frame 1 use:
IF :<summary_column> = 0
THEN
RETURN (FALSE);
ELSE
RETURN (TRUE);
END IF;

Restrict the data in main repeating frame

my report consists of 4 repeating frames.
main repeating frame consists of 3 child repeating frames
im not getting the data from 3&4 repeating frames. but the data is comming from 1&2. it contains two parameters in main group....
in such cases tht record should not been shown in the report...
so wat to do any alternative solution for this....

I have 3 measures and 2 dimensions.
A,B,C are measurures and D,E are dimensions
I want the report like this
D(Column1) E(Col2 ) A(April 2009 to Jan 2010)+B (Jan 2010) (Col3) C (Col4)
Please clarify me how to do this

Headers at top AND bottom of a repeating frame.

I've created a simple report through the Oracle Reports wizard. It created column headings which are on at the top of each page, and the repeating frame which spans several pages. What I am now trying to add are column "headings" which are at the bottom of each page. Similar to the Headings that are defined above the repeating frame, but under the repeating frame.
Problem is, the repeating frame spans several pages, but the "Headings" at the bottom are only showing on the last page. I do have the preferences set to All Pages. I can get all sorts of things to work and print on each page ABOVE the repeating frame, but not on each page BELOW the repeating frame.
Something simple?

Header, Main and Trailer section are something completely different. They have nothing to do with header and trialer on a page, but are completely different sections of a report (like having an introduction letter in the header section, and the report in the main section).
If you want to do what you want, do this:
- In the layout editor, expand the group frame (GF) around the repeating frame to almost the height of the page.
- Set the vertical elasticity of GF to Fixed.
- Copy the header group frame and it's text fields to a position outside GF. Rename it to Footer group frame (FGF).
- Drag FGF and it's items to a position below GF.
Hope this is clear.

Repeating frame not appearing

Hi,
I have created a report.
I placed some labels and fields on the repeating frame. For that repeating frame i have assigned one group.
If the group (query ) results in records it is displaying fine. But when it results zero records the whole repeating frame is disappearing. Not even labels are appearing. What could be the problem.
If it results zero record it should display the lables and feilds with no data.
How can we do it?

Steve is correct on this one - that is the intended result. What you could do is this - create 2 exact layouts. Keep the first layout as it is, but for the second, just create a regular frame, and labels (no repeating frame).
Create a format trigger for the frame that references a placeholder column counting some element in your query (like # of employeees...etc). In the format trigger do this:
If :cp_count = 0 then
return (true);
else return(false);
end if;then if there was no data, your second frame would print with just the labels. Just an idea, but play around with it.

We are facing issue in Portal (7.0) like, when I open the application "Products Coatings" in myWorkspace with Internet Explorer
display size 100% the frame "xyz" is displayed correctly:But When I open the application "Product Coatings" in myWorkspace with Internet Explorer display size 125% the same frame is NOT displayed correctly.

This error is generally specific to Internet Explorer and has two possible causes. The most likely explanation is that your browser has unusual browser security settings. I would recommend you try
resetting your security settings to defaults (varies by version but all essentially the same). You may also have to turn off
Protected Mode which is enabled by default on some systems. If you’re seeing this error (or a version of it) outside Internet Explorer, you may have a server-level setting that is preventing your content from being framed.

Repeating frame with no rows returned messing up display

I have a repeating frame nested within a frame among other items. When there are no rows returned for the repeating frame query, the report is shifting all the objects below the repeating frame upward in the page. How do I get the space held by the repeating frame to just stay blank if no rows are returned?

Is the Image and the Text within a Frame?If not, put these within a frame. If the text still moves up, then use an anchor.
what I mean is if your report looks like this:
<REGULAR FRAME>
<REPEATING-FRAME>
TEXT1
IMAGE
<REGULAR FRAME>
TEXT2
then put the TEXT1 and IMAGE inside a FRAME.

Parenet frame not letting me to modify inside repeating frames

We have developed a oracle report which got 4 repeating frames, Now the parent frame is not letting me to select any of the frames/fields inside the frames. What could be the reason? Also Confine Mode is off. Still it is not letting me to select any of the frame/field/text, Please let me know the possible solution.Thanks!

Use the object navigator to select items and frames. The reason may be that in the arrangement of the layout, the parent frame is in top, and as it cover the repeating ones, wherever You click, it gets selected. On the menu search for arrange and try seding it back until it's below all other frames.
