How do I change the display picture of the Log in page. Currently it is the default cosmic looking one from Apple.

Help! My Safari shortcuts do not display pictures of the page anymore on my iPad.

I use shortcuts from web pages for various reasons and after a recent update, when I try adding shortcuts to my home screen they no longer display photos of the page but ugly white boxes with lines throughout. The previous pages I have shortcuts to all still have a photo of the page on their thumbnail but the new ones I am trying to add do not. I have tried deleting and readding the shortcuts, restarting Safari, restarting my iPad, and restoring from a back up. None of these have worked though. Is there something I am doing wrong? A setting that needs to be changed? A new way of adding shortcuts from Safari? I am in charge of the iPads for my work and I cannot get any of them to have pictures for the thumbnail instead of the awful ugly white square with lines (7 total iPad2s having the same problem). Please help! Thank you!

I had a requirement where i had to display a picture on the selection screen, so i used the methods set_position and load_picture_from_url of the class cl_gui_picture to archive this, but now my selection screen has extended to more than one page because of this if i scroll down on the selection screen the picture is not scrolling it is remaining static to the screen ( i.e. if i place it (10, 10) after scrolling also it is still remaining at (10 , 10) with respect to the new screen) is there any way i can scoll the picture also i.e. it also moves up along with the screen?

There could be one option : create one screen and load your picture on that screen.
Within your selection screen, call the screen created above.

Dear Skype- STOP killing the display pictures

This is more of a suggestion/complaint than anything else and I hope I'm putting this in the right place but, Skype's last update made everything look like iphone messages which also made the display pictures small as hell.
This was annoying as I like to actually LOOK at people's pictures and it's nice to have a quick visual represenation to remind you who you're talking to. I mean sure-- I can click on the image and see a larger version along with their profile info but...why should I do that?
NOW today I log on and skype updates and they're gone COMPLETELY from the chat windows?
WHY? WHAT REASON WAS THERE TO REMOVE THEM? The chat windows look so bland now and the only way to see display pictures is in the actual messager or when they call you, I guess. Removes a lot of the fun and point of having display pictures now.
Why not all the time??? I remeber it allowed you to hide display pictures that you did'nt want to see, but now Skype just does it for you, all the time, forever. At least let us have the CHOICE to hide them like they are now.
My suggestion: Bring back display pictures in the chat LARGE they USED to be before Skype had this iphone-like layout, WITH THE OPTION of making them tiny and round or removing them all together. Thanks.

This is a ridiculous workaround. Why is this even an issue? Display pictures at the top of conversation windows (at the minimum width, mind you), have been there for years, and were perfectly fine prior to the 7.3 update. What was the point of changing this?
I reverted to 7.2 as soon as I learned this was a design choice and somehow kype updated itself to 7.4 despite having automatic updates in Skype and Windows Update turned off. (Probably opened the update notification as I was typing and accidentally allowed it) I tried to reinstall 7.2 but the installer apparently couldn't connect to the server, and linked me to the main download page. Now I somehow have 7.5 on Windows and this picture issue still persists.
Why isn't this being fixed? This is an unnecessary change which might sound petty to be up in arms about, but this really irks me, as it's convenient, consistent with nearly every other messenger out there, and last year there was a problem where older group chats' display pictures would show as default and this was fixed just before they made this change. Do they even know what they're doing?
Yeah-- I agree.
I'm still annoyed by the fact that I have to choose between ridiculously wide windows (that make the avatars vanish sometimes anyway?) and nice slim windows that have icons missing for no real reason.
It's not a big enough issue for them to really 'fix' it, I suppose since it falls under the 'pet peeves' instead of actual problems category, I guess.
But yeah, bringing the avatars back as they used to be (instead of continuously making them smaller and further away and less present as time goes by) would make me happy, personally. [:

Is it possible to make the log pop up of errors/warnings appear for longer?

The answer to this question may have already been posted but I could not locate it when searching.
I am running SQL Developer 1.5.1 and I have set up the display so that the log is minimised. When I debug or compile any packages the log of error messages/warnings pops up. However this does not stay on screen long enough for me to be able to read it and only 1 in 4 times do I get to the log window quick enough, in order to click on it to keep it open. Is there away of making the log pop up until I minimise it or at least stay on screen for longer, so that I can reach it in time? I estimate it is currently staying on screen for less than 1 second.
I don't want the log to be displayed all the time because it takes up valuable space, which I find useful when writing my code. It gets in the way even more when I am using the SQL statement window/script output window.

After all these months of using SQL developer. it never registered with me that hovering over the tab brings it up. I must have brought it up before now but I don't remember doing so if I did.

Third party apps will not display pictures upon OS upgrade

I recently upgraded my 8520 to OS 5 and I've noticed that my Time Mobile App and Viigo will not display pictures in the articles or news feeds anymore. I've tried the apps support but no luck.
Is there a possible solution for this?

I don't know about Time Mobile, but I noticed that Viigo started having some issues with displaying photos correctly a while back after an OS update as well. One suggestion you can try is to simply do a battery pull - while the phone is on, remove the battery for 15-30 seconds and reinsert. After the phone has rebooted, see if you have any better luck.
Now then, Viigo is still intermittent for me - some feeds load pictures no problem, while others have a lot of issues (or simply don't load pictures period). My guess is that there is something that changed slightly in the OS update that is influencing how pictures are downloaded from the internet and to these apps. Unfortunately there is little that can be done though unless the developer(s) update their apps as well.

So from your description you have a picture control where you've already created an image and you'd like to drag an image around inside of the picture control. This can be done although it is going to take a significant amount of research and programming on your behalf. You can use the drag event in the event handler to find out when the drag occurs and where the cursor is. Then edit the picture as you move your mouse so that when you drop the picture gets updated.
The even structure is a somewhat advanced topic and the drag and drop feature is one of the more advanced uses of this structure. I would search the example finder (help>>find examples) for "event" and "drag" to see how to use these events. Also you'll want to look at the examples for the picture control.

How can I display pictures from an Ipod on my Ibook?(it's not the home comp

I am trying to figure out how I can display pictures on my Ibook from the video Ipod. The Ipod is connected to another computer, a PC. Please help, thanks.

I think mine are all still in alphabetical order, but :
* movies I deleted from my library and told "hide this purchase in the cloud" are showing up again. If I try to play them, I get the "cannot find the file in its proper location, would you like to locate it" error message.
* for movies that have "iTunes Extras," the extras show up as a separate item, with another copy of the movie artwork. Most of these I believe I had DELETED the "iTunes Extras" anyway.
* Items are showing up multiple times.
* A few MUSIC ALBUMS are listed in my Movies section.
* Some movies (I believe ones that I deleted off my HD but are still in the cloud) are showing random album covers instead of their proper artwork.
* Just rented a movie, and it didn't show up anywhere in my library. It downloaded properly and completely, was in a suitably labeled folder in my iTunes/Media/Movies section, but didn't show up in any section of the library (or via a library search). Had to manually find it and tell it to open the file using iTunes.
Running the latest version, even checked for updates. No other changes made lately since the last round of apple software updates. This was wonky before the latest small update to iTunes - now it's even wonkier. And it is very, VERY effing annoying.

Depending on what kind of computer you have, you're gonna need to put that backup in the appropriate folder or itunes is not gonna be able to see it for you to use.

Missing a User access in the log-on picture

Lacks a user access to log on picture after start-up in Yosemite. In user administration there has been created two user entries - an administrator and a normal access. The normal access is not visible from the log on picture, and it is only possible to access through the visible user (Adm.) and then switch the user by switching in the upper right corner!!!
Wish, possible for all users to log on from the boot up image. (Adm - Normal - Guest access)

same issue:
retina MacBookPro mid2012. Clean install of OS X Yosemite 10.10
I'm randomly missing an account at login screen after reboot.
Sometimes I can fix it with booting into my initial account 'Kevin' (userid 501) and then changing to different login 'Christina' (userid 502).
But if I log out from my account, the second account is missing. Same if I do a reboot.. This have me in stitches as I ofcause has the need for privacy from each account.
Both accounts are set up as admins, guest is deactivated.

This has nothing to do with your pictures. As long as LR works, nothing happens. The CC app merely has lost an entry in the installer database. Would a reinstall fix it? Sure. Is it necessary? Not really (until the next version or update). So unless you have too much time to spend or something isn't working, I'm sure you can find more interesting things to do with your tiem. Otherwise use the cleaner tool and get to it:

The OP appears to be concerned about sent messages in particular, which, as you know, wouldn’t be on the server no matter what the settings and would certainly be lost as a result of deleting the account.

Deleting a POP account only deletes the messages stored in the account’s mailboxes. If you move those messages to custom “On My Mac” mailboxes or to the mailboxes of another account, you won’t lose them. It’s not that Mail goes after your mail trying to delete as much as it can. It’s just that if a mail account is deleted, then its mailboxes cannot exist anymore...

Alternatively, a quick and simple procedure to create a duplicate of the account’s mailbox structure as “On My Mac” mailboxes would be importing them doing File > Import Mailboxes, choosing Mail for Mac OS X as the data format, and selecting the ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver account folder.
That said, instead of deleting the account right away, you can just disable it (i.e. turn OFF Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Enable this account), leave it that way for some time, and delete it only after making sure you didn’t miss anything while the account was disabled.
BTW, if you back up your data, and the ~/Library/Mail folder in particular, you won’t have to worry about accidentally losing anything as a result of doing something like that...
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.

AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer).
On the basis of the specifications you have given for your set up, mirroring should work.
