However i have an issue whenever the form is opened again either to view or edit, it displays the current users information
instead of the value of the person who completed the form in the first place.
Please help me, I'm turning more grey each minute

I think it is how the current user information is stored based on your logic.
You might be quering current value again when loading the form (Form load Rule).
you have to tweak your logic, after the user submits the form you can set the username to the one who saved it.
or in form load, write a logic to see if the form was not saved before and then query the username( by using internal field like "formstatue")

Once I enter on my report and refresh, it prompts me a message that I don't have acess on one or more data providers, asking me if I want to proceed ( ID : WIS_30286) then I click yes and run the refresh and it prompts me another message: The SAP SSP authentication will fail because the current user doesn't have an alias that matches system BIDCLNT100..
I checked the connection and tested, but the server not answers (SBO0001), on details I see the same message above.
This on PRD, because on DEV it works fine.

for the first part where you don't access I would suggest you do an authorization trace to ensure that the user has all the necessary authorizations.
and on the second part - yes the user needs to have credentials for the system that you trying to access

[SOLVED] Authenticate with the current user instead of root on GNOME

I am currently trying on Arch Linux. And after installing GNOME, I found that, whenever I want to change the administration settings, such as network, shared folders, date and time, users and groups, I am prompted with authentication of the root password. The current user is a wheel user, which is able to use sudo to work properly. What I want is to use the current user for authentication, so that I can lock the root password, just like Ubuntu distribution which does not need to user root password.

I have solved the problem from the wiki. I didn't follow one of the step, because I thought it is not related to the GNOME, since there is no GNOME keyword. To make the authentication using the current user instead of root, one needs to edit
/etc/polkit-1/localauthority.conf.d/50-localauthority.conf
modify the line to
AdminIdentities=unix-group:wheel

I have a customer using a hosted SharePoint 2013 multi-tenant solution and they have asked to have the end user's name to be displayed when logged in. It seems like I have seen this done on other SharePoint deployments but I can't seem to figure out how

Unable to use Datasource.cfc in Admin API - The current user is not authorized to invoke this method

I am having some issues accessing the methods in the datasource.cfc in the adminAPI.
I can successfully load the administrator CFC and am told that I have successsfuly logged in;
But when I try to subsequently load the datasource.cfc I get an error that the current user is unable to access the method.

I tried creating separate admin users and passwords - yhinking that perhaps a revent hotfix had stopped the "admin" user from being allowed to use the adminAPI - but changing to a new adminuser yielded the same results.

I've found a solution to my plight - I don't know if it'll work for you or help you try something that MAY fix it.
I use a common code set which includes the Application.cfc from a CF Mapping - So, in the application.cfc in the actual website I do this:-

Then, in the /UberDirectory/Application.cfc, I was initialising a CFC which checks if the datasource was created for the website. The datasource checking code attempts to log into the Admin API and check & create if necessary the datasource.
This has previously worked without fail for me - But in this instance it failed!! I was doing two things wrong - Firstly, the CFC should only be called in the Application.cfc in the onRequestStart section as the Application had to be initialised first - This is maybe because I've invoked the application.cfc in a "non-standard" manner.
Secondly, once I'd moved the CFC invocation into oNRequestStart I saw the following error:-
The string COOKIE.CFAUTHORIZATION_uber-directory is not a valid ColdFusion variable name.
I had this as the app name .... <cfset this.name = 'uber-directory'>
Changedthe dash to an underscore and I was away and could once again check the datasources

I have a document library,for this if any user uploads a document,there we have three content types(Ex:content1,content2,content3)
if the uploaded user is from content 1(here we have four columns name,assigned to ,status,published to) after uploading the document the document has to be updated.so when the document is updated by the user then automatically the published filed people
picker has to be filled up with the current user name this is done by using java script object model programming.

If the user has authenticated, :APP_USER is the name that was used. The current page id is in :APP_PAGE_ID.
Although I showed bind variable notation for those, & substitution format and v() notation are also available for referencing developer-defined items or built-in names. See the User's Guide for more details.

Using to pass the current user while creating a procedure

I have a .sql script that several people use to help set-up test beds but some users call the test procedures from a separate schema. The .sql creates a table (TABLE_A) and then a procedure that when run will create a trigger on a separate table (TABLE_B) that basically writes all info to TABLE_A. The problem is that if the .sql is run under schema SCOTT and then the procedure is run from schema JOE to create a trigger on JOE.TABLE_B, the trigger will try to write copy info to just TABLE_A instead of SCOTT.TABLE_A. My plan is to add a new input variable to the procedure for the schema where the procedure is located and set the default to the schema of the user running the .sql.
I can't seem to figure out how to call the current user and then pass it to a procedure as a DEFAULT input variable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK, sadly, that did not work. What that provided to me was user that runs the procedure. If I run it as SCOTT it gives me SCOTT, but if I run as JOE, it gives me JOE.

RTC-5230 - Location DEV_LOC has not been registered by the current user

All,
We have recently migrated our dev environment to new hardware and I need to change the OWB Location details to reflect this - I am now attempting to unregister the locations in the Control Center but am getting the following error:
RTC-5230: Location DEV_LOC has not been registered by the current user
Is there a view I can use to find out which user registered the Location?

From my experience, we can only search the result which we have view permission at least.

Query to get objects list for which the current user has 'SELECT' privilege

Hi,
I want to get tables and views list for which the current user has 'SELECT' privilege excluding sytem tables and views. The privilege information for the current user is scattered in more than one system views. I have following system views
USER_TAB_PRIVS_RECD - Object grants for which the current user is the grantee
ROLE_TAB_PRIVS - describes table privileges granted to roles. Information is provided only about roles to which the user has access.
If the object privilege is granted explicitly like "GRANT ALL ON TABLE_NAME TO "USERNAME" then this privilege entry goes to USER_TAB_PRIVIS_RECD
If the object privilege is granted by ROLE. Role is created with certain object privileges. this role is assigned to user "GRANT ROLE_NAME TO "USERNAME"", then this entry goes to ROLE_TAB_PRIVS
From these findings, I have composed below query
(SELECT DISTINCT TABLE_NAME FROM USER_TAB_PRIVS_RECD) UNION (SELECT DISTINCT TABLE_NAME FROM ROLE_TAB_PRIVS WHERE PRIVILEGE = 'SELECT')
Have I got user's all prvilege details? should I look some other system views?
How to exclude system table privileges details?
(SELECT DISTINCT TABLE_NAME FROM USER_TAB_PRIVS_RECD) UNION (SELECT DISTINCT TABLE_NAME FROM ROLE_TAB_PRIVS WHERE PRIVILEGE = 'SELECT' AND OWNER NOT IN ('SYS','SYSTEM') Is this right?
What about Public role in Oracle? Should I consider public role here?

Get the last query from the current user

Is there a way to get the last query of the current user, so every query could be log with a database trigger?
Let's just say I execute:
DELETE xxxx;
I tried :
SELECT T.SQL_TEXT FROM V$SQLAREA T where ADDRESS=(SELECT prev_sql_addr FROM v$session where audsid=userenv('sessionid'));
But the result of this query is :
'SELECT T.SQL_TEXT FROM V$SQLAREA T where ADDRESS=(SELECT prev_sql_addr FROM v$session where audsid=userenv('sessionid'))'
Is there a way to execute a query that would return :
'DELETE xxxx'

You could join SQL_ADDR in v$session with ADDRESS in v$sqlarea to determine the SID that executed that SQL statement last. Note that PREV_SQL_ADDR in v$session will indicate the previous SQL he executed. Though you would have to look at these tables very often to get all SQL statements issued. One note here, I think if a different user ran the SAME SQL with just bind var differences the SQL_AREA will only show the last userâs information that executed it.
BTW - it will show deletes also...

Testing a user group field with the current users group

I have a list which has a column which contains groups.
I want to create a view with a condition that the current users group should match the group of that field.
for testing against current date, its [today]
for testing against the current user, its [me]
is that a standard way of testing against the current user.

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to create a standard view to filter on the current user’s group.
Per my knowledge, it’s by designed that the [Me] function is only supported to filter on the current user in a SharePoint list view.
If you want to filter on the current user group in the list view, I recommend that you can try to use the following methods to implement it in your environment.
1. Modify the query on a web part in SharePoint Designer:

How to get the current User Id

is there any system variable containing the current "user code"
because, based on current user code, i would like to get the branch from OUSR, so that, one query can display only those records pertaining to that branch.
