The displayport in my ThinkPad Port Replicator Series 3 does not work. ThinkPad T430S. The interneal mini displayport works very good... Annyone knows the problem?

seglarn2,
We can try this out...
Please tell us a bit more about your setup so we can test.  What OS are you running?  What BIOS version do you have?  Do you have any other external video connections, or just the display port?
LCD on the ThinkPad  is on or off in this config?

  • Port Replicator Series 3 fan?

Hi all, I am considering buying a port replicator for my t420, but I also want to have an external fan blowing on my thinkpad when I play games, for instance. I'm wondering if the port replicator series 3 has an internal fan built into it, and if not, would an external fan below the port replicator be of any use in cooling the laptop? Thanks!

    buntwoz,
I'm not aware that we really see any adverse heat issues with a laptop on a dock.  In some cases, people may dock and use and external display and driving 2 or more external displays could work the GPU(s) harder and lead to some increased system temp, but I don't think it is an issue for most people.

  • Thinkpad Port Replicator II USB Port

I have a T30 laptop that had problems with the USB ports. so I turned them off.  I got a port replicator which has a USB port, but it does not seem to work either.  Is there any way to get the USB port on the replicator to work without turning on the USB ports on the laptop itself?

I considered a PCMCIA card, but I don't think I can use that card while also using a card for my wireless connection (not enough room).  This replicator seemed to be the best solution, since in addition to having a USB port, it also allows me to attach a separate keyboard and mouse.  There must be a way to turn off the USB ports on the laptop itself while allowing the port on the replicator to work.

  • Unable to attach T61 to Essential Port Replicator

I have only managed to accomplish it two or three times, and I have no idea how I did it. I push it down onto the replicator, lining the corner up as I am supposed to, but it does not engage. Any ideas?

Just to add, the R series use the ThinkPad Port Replicator II unit.

  • Port replicator for P200 series?

Hello, what kind of port replicator should I buy to work with a P200-RT9 series laptop?

    Hello
Nick is absolutely right. It can not be connected to port replicator. All units that can be connected to port replicator have expansion port at the bottom side.

  • Thinkpad USB Port Replicator with Digital Video - extended monitor shows only mouse icon

    Hi,
I have been using my Thinkpad USB Port Replicator with Digital Video for quite a long time with my previous employer laptop. I recently switched job and got a new laptop (Dell XPS 3, Win 8.1). While installing/paring this laptop with the port replicator, I had some issues e.g. extended monitor not getting identified etc. I updated the drivers and now I am able to identify the extended monitor. But the extended monitor shows only the mouse icon and nothing else. I have upto date Intel HD graphics drivers installed in the laptop. Intel's Graphics control panel doesn't show the extend option for the USB monitor, but able to still move the mouce icon to the extended monitor.
Any help/pointers to fix this issue is highly appreciated.

I have the exact same problem on my W510. Everything but the screen Works. I cannot however do duplicate screens. That would help a Little bit, so I could use the big monitor instead of just the laptop.
    Please fix this Lenovo!

  • ThinkPad USB Port Replicator

ThinkPad USB Port Replicator works with BeTWIN??

We (displaylink) have not tested specifically with betwin so could not guarantee it works. However it seems to work with a 2nd graphics card and that is how a displaylink display will appear to the OS so I think it should work.
I think it will depend on how betwin works. Might be better to ask betwin if they know of any issue.

  • 45K1610 Port Replicator and Thinkpad T510 cause Autodesk Inventor 2011 crashes in Windows 7 x64

The Lenovo 45K1610 Port Replicator driver, when installed, causes Autodesk Inventor 2011 to crash when opening files. It also crashes the Inventor crash reporting tool, with a logged crash in the nVidia driver. The latest drivers from Lenovo for both the nVidia driver and the Port Replicator do not fix the issue. Uninstalling the port replicator driver fixes the issue. This is on Windows 7 x64 Enterprise.

We are having the same problem on a Thinkpad Edge 15 0302, is there any updates?

  • ThinkPad USB Port Replicator with Digital Video (M01060) drivers for Windows 8 RTM

    Hello,
I have a X301 with the port replicator (M01060) running Windows 8 RTM build. I tried installing the Windows 7 drivers with no luck. The screens will flicker and I also getting blue screen crashes. I had to uninstall the drivers but I can only use the port replicator as usb hub.
Any workaround to this issue? I have 2 external monitors I use for work plus the laptop one as third.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Lenovo USB 3.0 Dock / Port Replicator (0A33970) and ThinkPad T430

Purchased a 0A33970 port replicator and having issues getting it working.  Cannot display to an external monitor.  Trouble shooting suggests bringing up the GUI but I don't see options for managing or troubleshooting.  The CD would not autostart, mouse does not seem to work, really not impressed so far and had to disconnect everything to get some work done today.  Who has gone through the process of standing up an A33970 and getting it to work right?  My T430 was just built in September of 2013 so it is fresh and should be compatible with the A33970.

  • X301 Thinkpad USB port Replicator unattended install

I want to install the USB Port Replicator software http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS012816 via our SCCM environment.
The setup file does not seem to be able to do a unattended installation.
    Can anyone help me?

Please call our HelpCenter and explain what you need and ask that your case be escallated to Level 2.  Our Level 2 support team is working with customers to provide instructions and a package that can be deployed silently for the USB Port Rep.  Hopefully in the future the released driver package can be updated to provide this support.

  • Video issues with USB port replicator with Digital Video

I have a T400 running Windows XP SP3 32-bit, with the graphics mode set to use the ATI video card. I'm also using the latest approved Lenovo ATI driver for this machine.
I have two issues, one of which I consider major:
    1) Sometimes when I plug in the replicator (got the latest drivers off of the Lenovo download site) everything works great, and other times the monitor never powers up. I plug the replicator into my laptop and the external keyboard and mouse work and the port replicator system tray icon appears, but the monitor is still in power-saving mode. If I try to activate the monitor by "extending" or "mirroring" it, it comes up with a pop-up that says:
"ThinkPad USB port rep. device: Error" - "Fail when adding device instance into driver!"
    2) This is more of an annoyance, but I noticed when the monitor does work that black areas of the screen end up getting sparkly green lines through them. They aren't "actually there" in the sense that it's not corruption from the computer, they are simply artifacts of what seems to be some signalling problem.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

We (DispkayLink) have tested office 2013 and not found any BSODs so there must be something system specific.
Could you gather the system logs and post here so we can see what might be wrong? Details on how to do this are here:

Your reply is 2 months later, I had to revert to Office 2010 and return the laptop to the end user.
But, I got another model of the same laptop right now which can be used to test it, I will let you know if it works out this time with the lates DisplayLink software for Windows.

  • Port Replicator loses connection to 2 external monitors and moves all the windows to the main screen

I recently purchased a Lenovo USB 2.0 Port Replicator with Digital Video (0A33942) to use with my Lenovo ThinkPad E530 laptop and two external monitors. One of the monitors is plugged into the port replicator with a VGA cord and the other one is plugged in directly into the laptop also with VGA.
The issue I'm having is randomly during the day, both screens will go blank, when they come back up everything that was open on the second screen gets moved to the main one. This happens about 15 times a day and although not a life threatening issue, it's still more of an annoyance moving everything back to the second screen as it was originally set up.
I have gone to Power Options and I have switched the sleep mode to 'Never'. Anyone have any suggestions? This is really driving me nuts. I tried calling Lenovo support and they told me this wasn't in "their scope" of support issues.
    Thanks

this is a driver incompatibility issue, it happens with some displaylink devices. I had this problem with the Lenobo USB 2.0 port replicator before.
Since the E530 has USB 3.0, i suggest you get a Lenovo's USB 3.0 dock, which will support 2 external LCD (but only one of the dvi on the dock can be converted to vga).

  • Dual display with Lenovo USB Port Replicator 43R8770

    Hi,
I have installed the Lenovo USB port replicator using the 1.0.0.1 drivers.  I am running Windows XP on a Thinkpad X300.
I can successfully get into dual display mode but when I try to make the external monitor my primary display it will not work.  It just switches my primary monitor back the notebook LCD without displaying any errors.
If I disable the notebook display I can set the external as the primary but as long as the notebook is enable the external cannot be set as the primary.
Has anyone ever seen this before?
    Solved!
