    Hi Piyush
this can be achieved using iView, steps required,
    1. You have to create a system in portal for your DMS.
    2. Create a database iView based on the DMS systems.

    Hi,
this depends on what your third party DMS is.
What you normally would need is a repository manager: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/30/a12ddeea29534eaa33c67fefed3504/frameset.htm
SAP provides some repository managers in the standard. One that could be used is the WebDAV Repossitory Manager if your DMS supports this.
Some DMS vendors provide Repository Managers for the SAP NetWeaver Portal. Therefore it could be a good idea to ask your vendor if there is something available
    Kind regards

  • Document retrieval from 3rd party DMS

    Hi Experts,
I need to retrieve a pdf file from an external DMS. i have to write a program that will:
    1. Display the list of released Prod Orders (ALV) - done
    2. Open the Corresponding BMR(batch manufacturing record) for the specified Released PO.
    3. Pass 2 values from the report to the BMR pdf file
    Are there FM's for this?
    Thanks and Regards,
    FA

    Hello Franklin,
I can advise you a little on the retrieval part.
I assume that the external DMS is configured as a Content Repository in your system. (OAC0)
The content repository can be identified from OAC3, based on the SAP Object type and Archiving Object type being used. Please check the protocol that has been configured within the customizing of content repository. Further, go to OAA3 and verify the method of retrieval specified in the protocol and retrieve the data accordingly from OAOR or OAER.
Please reward points if this info helps you.

  • Exchange 2013 mailbox migration from third party cloud to on premises

    Hi,
we are currently utilizing a third party exchange 2013 cloud service to host user's mailboxes (  intermedia), now we implemented an exchange 2013 on-premises environment in Hyper V infrastructure and want to plan migration of mailboxes and related configuration.
cloud and on-premises environment have same SMTP domain ( Eg: XYZ.ORG) and currently an additional Temporary SMTP domain ( XYZ.CO ) used to test the external mailflow of on-premises since xyz.org is registered with cloud.
we need to migrate all mailboxes to on premises and enable XYZ.ORG for on-premises.
Pls suggest the prerequisites, steps, best practices for migration
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Sumesh,
    1. Please make sure your mails are flowing correctly using XYZ.CO domain. Hope you have XYZ.ORG also created in Exchange.
    2. Hope you already created the users in your Exchange2013 server and distribution groups for current users
    3. You plan a weekend for changing your MX records.
    4. Change MX and A records to a lower TTL days before the migration to decrease DNS update time on migration day
    5. Export Hosted Exchange data for each user to PST files  using the PST capture tool and move your PSTs to a centralized location.
    6. Change MX and A records to point to on-premises Exchange 2013
    7. Import Hosted Exchange data from PST files into the new Exchange profiles
    Please check these as well

  • TREX, Portal and third party DMS

    Hello,
I would like to have the possiblity to search for documents in the portal. The problem with it is that the documents are in a third party DMS called D3. The points I get stuck in the middle of nowhere are:
    - How is it possible to connect the portal documents with the DMS (as content server). What do I have to configure?
    - How to configure (if possible) TREX that he is indexing the documents in the DMS (there is not only the way from the portal to the DMS but also to put the documents in the DMS's normal way into the DMS.
    - Where to start, what to read and how to make light in the black darkness?
I think at this point anything that helps me to understand the mechanismen behind TREX, portal content and content server will help me.
    Thx in advance,
      Vanessa

    Hi Vanessa,
for the Portal to connect to D3, you'd have to develop a so-called "Repository Manager" for D3.
This is Java development against the "Repository Framework" (RF) API. You will find hints how to do this in the developer guide for enterprise knowledge management.
    [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/42/631a15c81f0bcce10000000a114cbd/frameset.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/42/631a15c81f0bcce10000000a114cbd/frameset.htm]
If you manage to achieve this, the connection for indexing and searching to TREX is taken care of for you by the RF.

  • Security settings change when rendered from third party Windows 2008 R2 server

We created a fillable PDF form in Adobe Acrobat and made it Reader extended. Opening the form on a local hard drive the security settings show that Signing: is Allowed. We can sign documents in the form with a signature pad.
After we upload it to a third party Windows server 2008 R2, and we later go to access the form, the server renders it back to us in Adobe Reader. We are unable to digitally sign documents in the form with a Topaz signature pad. We notice that although the form was originally created with the form being Reader extended the security settings change to Signing: Not Allowed.
How can we get the server to render the document back to us where we can digitally sign documents in the form?

The second file still shows the extended rights header is present (it's warning you about restrictions at the top of the dialog while also reporting the method is "no security") but the digital signature which grants those extended rights will be invalidated if *anything* in the file structure is changed. I suspect in this case that the server software is doing something to your file; it may be trivial such as adding an XMP tag, but it's enough to break the hash check.

  • Migration scenario from 3rd party mail server to GW12?

    Hi
We need to migrate from existing e-mail server (Axigen ) to GW12.
The main concern is how to do that as quickly as possible or step by step without disrupting mail traffic and users.
    Here is the situation:
In local network there is mentioned Axigen mail server serving aprox 70 users at single location.
Our official domain is hosted outside by Hosting provider where their mail server forwards all mail to our DDNS address where is ported to local mail server. Forwarding is performed discrete on user base. Each [email protected] is forwarded to [email protected]. where local server taking over.
This setting is harder to maintain because it is necessary to maintain users and aliases on outside server manually. However, this setting has some advantages. First of all, forwarding is happened immediately. If for some reason , local server is unreachable, outside server will keep on trying for two more days.
Second advantage is that we can use anti spam and virus blocking at the providers side.
Both functionality we could'nt achieve with simple global forwarding of all mail to local server.
This comment is digresion from main topic.
Outgoing mail is relayed by local server over our Internet Connection provider's SMPT host.
    Local mail is delivered locally.
We maintain local DNS server too.
Most users are using POP service, while IMAP is used by few only. All users are using Thunderbird so far.
All users in the future should use full GW capabilities with regular GW client, mobile clients and so on.
GW12 server is installed and up already. It is tested locally and tested for remote sending. So, only remote receiving is not tested yet, so neither correct domain is set yet.
Present users authentication is performed by Axigen server and LDAP connection to eDir. STARTTLS is used between clients and server.
Our plan is simple to change local DNS record point to new GW server, to change NAT/routing point to new server and set correct domain for the GW server.
We expect that this will be transparent for users while they will continue to use Thunderbird (certificate mismatch will be issued by first connection and first mail sending. But we plan to warn users in advance together with instructions what to do. My phone will ring that morning many times, I am sure). Few IMAP accounts we can prepare in advance by move mail manually to local folders and back to GW server later.
Latest step should be migrate users from Thunderbird to GW client. This need to be perfomed manually at each user seat. Each Thunderbird client need to be switched to IMAP and then mail need to move to GW server.
Here is concern about old mail volume. Many users have their old mail archived in local folders by years. Some of them has quite huge amount of archived mails with heavy attachments. However old mail can be moved gradually later.
So, this is our plan. Does anybody has any suggestion, comment or wish to point some problem we didn't aware of?
    Thank you.

most of this sounds good. With such heavy imap/pop usage, you MIGHT
want to consider installing a temporary dedicated gwia just for that
separate from the smtp handling gwia. But that might not be necessary at
all. 70 people isn't THAT much.

  • Can not receive emails from third party email accounts

Recently I started working for a small business which has small business server 2011 and exchange 2010 installed. Before I started there were eight user accounts and they all have unlimited email access. I created a few users through sbs AD and also from
exchange console a week ago. Unfortunately none of them can not receive emails from third party accounts. they all can receive internal emails and also can send mails to any email accounts internally and externally.
This is a night mare for me as new users are having trouble with communicating via mails. I have tried all the methods and now thought of posting this issue on tech net. Please help me on this!!
    Thanks a lot!!
    Sammy

Checklist for testing inbound email problems, I am assuming outbound emails works ok.
    1. Check Port 25 forwarding on all modems routers/firewalls
    2. MX Record is created and pointing to the correct Public IP Address, use MXToolbox.com to verify MX Record and test SMTP flow. Also Verify your public IP has not changed, use whatsmyip.org to check you public IP
    3. If using POP Connector Service, make sure POP accounts are created properly
    4. If using a 3rd party spam host, make sure they forward email to correct public IP address, use step 2 to verify your public IP.

  • Report export to third party syslog server

    Hi all,
Is there a way to send the Cisco ACS secure server report to third party syslog server?
Example: for audit purpose, i need the data extract from Monitoring & Reports > Reports >  Catalog >  AAA Protocol
I trying by create new remote log targets, the IP is pointing to third party syslog server.
and at the logging categories > global, i apply the new create log collector to all logging categoires.
    Am i doing it right?
    please comment, thanks

    Hi Yong,
Yes that's possible. You can use the web interface to configure logging category messages so that they are sent to remote syslog server targets
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_system/5.3/user/guide/logging.html#wp1052741
ACS provides these preconfigured global ACS logging categories, to which you can assign log targets.

  • How can I force the close of a third party ActiveX server.

We have a third party ActiveX executable that refuses to shut itself down once in a while. And when I say once in a while, I mean one out of every 20-30 times it's attempted. All termination commands are being sent and recieved properly, and all refnums are being closed. No errors are ever generated, all operations report successful, but the thing just won't die. Problem is of course, that if we attempt to restart our software after the ActiveX app fails to terminate, it generates server execution errors when trying to open a new instance. We are not expecting a speedy resolution from the third party, but it is becoming a great inconvenience for our customers. I would like to be able to kill the process thro
ugh the OS as a last resort. Problem is, to do that I need a ProcID. Is there any way to retrieve a ProcID for the ActiveX server through LabVIEW? Alternatives and suggestions are welcome.

    Hello codeman,
Thank you for your inquiry regarding closing a third party ActiveX server. It sounds like the third party application is having trouble closing. There are several Windows Utility VIs available that could help in this case. One of the Utility VIs is called Get Window Refnum and should return an instance of a Windows window. The following links are great resources when dealing with this issue.

  • Sender RFC from Third Party System

I have a vendor who is actually communicating through RFC from third party Application to SAP R/3. Now we are trying have XI in between. Where as with minimal impact on both sides.
    Solution.
    1. Have the RFC made as ZRFC in XI. Let the vendor call the RFC in XI ABAP and internally make an RFC call through XI Interface to R/3 as Sync Interface. Because we need to report the information back to the system where the request initiated.
    2. Have RFC INI file copied as SAP Suggests under one of the folders. Develop the regular RFC to RFC Interface via XI.
Is there any other alternatives other than the above mentioned solutions? Or out of those 2, which one will provide the best performance
    Appreciate any feedback. Please advice

That's exactly what we are trying to achieve here. By Eliminating direct connection R/3, we are placing XI in between. But with the budget/timeline constraints from the Partner side, we are trying to have minimal change on the partner side. They might not change something to web service etc...
Here is the text about INI file
You can configure the non-SAP RFC client to connect to the sender communication channel in the following ways:
    ■       By defining the parameters PROGID, gateway-host, and gateway-service within the saprfc.ini-file using RFC-SDK.
    ■       By using appropriate parameters in the function RfcOpenEx.
If you use the saprfc.ini-file, the respective RFC destination has to be of type R.
All the parameter values used within the saprfc.ini-file or with the function RfcOpenEx should match the entries maintained within the corresponding sender communication channel.
Example for the saprfc.ini-file is as follows:
    DEST=RFCCLIENTEXT
    TYPE=R
    PROGID=P106646.HKExternalClient
    GWHOST=pwdf2153
    GWSERV=sapgw40

Using the same Sender RFC for non-SAP System, please share any ideas
