How would I solve this problem then. I have to servers on the network. One is Linux and other one is Windows. I'm buying block of 5 IP addresses from provider. One is assingned to .250 internal address and other one is .240. I would like to assign public addresses to them. At my work we have Neutopia box and have about 4 servers behind it with internal IP addresses. In netopia box have a table populated with addresses internal and external. Please, help. Thanks

I am a new DB administrator and I have faced a problem in our database.
Here i will explain our architecture and i will state the problem.
In my org. we have database server responsible for keeping the DB itself. Another server which is the main server is responible to control the access to the network and making and storing DB backups using a third party software (Net Backup Software). The backups are kept in tapes accessed by main server using tapes robot.
Our backup policies is that the software makes full backup every week and a incremental dialy backups of the DB. The retention of each backup is two weeks. All servers have been shutted down during vacations.
The problem is that when we came from two weeks vacation, users found that the DB is in old state and we lost the most recent valid state. I tried all my best since month ago to do recovery. I decided the point of time to restore and I also use the SCNs but I could'nt reach a solution. I used Net backup, Rman, EM but without a result.
When i check NetBackup console I find a backup available since 28 of July 2010. Actually the changes are made after this date and now the DB state is older thatn this date. the question is: WHER HAVE THE CONSEQUENT CHANGES GONE? around one mounth of work has been lost..

Your BACKUP script does set the NetBackup parameters for the Tape Channels.
However, your RESTORE script does not specify the NetBackup parameters -- so Oracle doesn't know which channel to use for the Restore.
You need to add the NetBackup parameters in the RESTORE.
However, this is suprising :
The problem is that when we came from two weeks vacation, users found that the DB is in old state and we lost the most recent valid stateA database will NOT EVER "go back to an old state" until and unless someone has restored an old backup. If the servers were shutdown for two weeks, who would have restored the database. If the servers were shutdown, how would Oracle have automatically gone back to an old stats ? There must have been some manual actions.

I have a package that runs and updates a table with everytime someone adds a flat file in the source folder. One of the requirement is to upload files with the following
ACA Flat files will have a naming convention of “ACA_ccyy_<julian date>” : How can I add this?
Under Files this is how I have setup the qualifies "ACA_*.*"
Is there anyway to pass the entire naming convention in the file section? If so how can I ?

As you have ACA_*.* set in Files Filter, it will return all the files from the folder which start with ACA_.
You can have one dummy Sequence Container inside FE Loop Container. Connect it to your starting task and do right click on Precedence Constraint and write the expression the way you want by using SSIS functions. If the expression is evaluated to True only
then it will go to the next task.
In this way you can skip Non-ACA files.

Best Export / Video settings for Premiere Pro. Help Needed.

What's the best settings when you want to export a video from Premiere Pro for the web or otherwise. Best settings = good quality video and LOW file size.
Benchmark : The videos on Apple Trailers. Check them out at http://www.apple.com/trailers
The trailers are of high quality video, great sounds, and the Large sizes all fall under the 25MB mark. Any ideas on HOW this is done and what
settings in Premiere Pro CS3 might be able to replicate such standards?
Any help is appreciated. I normally use Encoder and export using H264 but that always seems to have an Audio lag. Any similar issues?

I understand that better quality = bigger file size. That's true in most cases, but there is a way around it, I'm just not sure what that way is. As I mentioned in the original post, the benchmark is http://www.apple.com/trailers . The non-HD videos on any movie page on that site hardly ever exceeds the 25MB mark. The videos are 2-3minutes long, and while they may not be top-notch BD visuals, they look way better than 95% of the stuff that's streamed off the net.
That's why I asked if anyone had any ideas on how to replicate something like that. Say I had a avi file of great quality, shot with a Panasonic DV Cam. I Capture the footage, do whatever I have to in Pr, and the result is now a 3minute video. I want it exported to a Quicktime file, I want it to look visually pleasing like the trailers on Apple, and I want it to fall under 25MB. I have tried H.264 encoding, regular Quicktime, and Quicktime via Encoder. Nothing reaches the expected quality.
For more examples visit http://www.passionpictures.com.my/pages/recent.aspx and download those simple 30second clips. All Quicktime, mostly under 5.5MB. If Pr can't do it, then I don't know what can...so I'm sure Pr can do it.
Problem is, how? Experimentation is definitely a way to go, I get that. But on the basis of the scenario given above...how is it done?

Configuring Channelized T1/E1 VWIC - Urgent Help Needed

I installed a new VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 card in my cisco 3825 router, and the router does see it, but I am unable to configure the "controller T1".
2 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces
60 Serial interfaces
8 Channelized T1/PRI ports
1 Channelized (E1 or T1)/PRI port
The new card is in slot 0/3, but I keep getting the error below:

Try the global command:
card type t1 0 3
You need to identify to the router if your using it as a T1 or E1

Entered Wrong Email Address : Help Needed - Probably a Simple Solution But Driving Us Crazy

Recently, when signing into a website I have used successfully many times - I accidentally typed in the last few letters of my email address wrongly ( email address and password are required to log on to the site) Now I can't access the site at all because I enter my correct email address when asked, but as soon as I move down to enter my password...the email address reverts back to the one I typed in wrongly and of course the site dosent recognize me. I have turned off and on my auto fill thing, cleared my cookies, reset Safari, tried all the simple things I know but they haven't worked. I suspect the solution will be an easy one for those that know more than I do ( which isn't alot!) and would be grateful for some quick advice!

You will need to contact the website. Have you checked to see if the site has customer or tech support?

AppleScript for setting Permissions Automatically -help needed

I am trying to create an applescript that can run automatically each time a user signs into a Mac set up for multiple (non admin) users that will take a folder on the drive and set permissions for all sub folders and files to read/write for everybody. I want the script to essentially do the equivalent of checking to "apply to enclosing items" checkbox.
I know very little about applescript and have not found a good tutorial online yet. Does anybody already have a script that will do this or know how to create one and set it up so that it will run automatically each time a user signs in? I think that I can probably add whatever script is created to the login items for the user to do that. But, don't I also have the problem of the script needed admin rights to reset permissions?
Any help would be appreciated.

What exactly are you wanting to do? There are shared folders that already exist (public and private), and Access Control List entries can be set to allow for custom access. Is this for a temporary directory or something like that that gets created when a user logs in?

login to database as a dba and create directory for your dumpfile path.
create directory dpump_dir as 'd:\exp';
and then use the below script for export.

This normally means that you are trying to insert data on a screen for which a particular field is not available.
So check screen number, screen fields and report name. In case of screen fields, use F1, F9 (technical information), and check the name of the screen field for batch processing (all the way at th bottom of the pop-up). This can differ from actual name of the screen field.
If all this is ok, try to create a recording of the transaction with SM37.

Coding for editing... help needed

My mate has filmed my wedding on an HD TV camera and is asking me what coding to put the rushes onto so I can edit them on Imovie HD6.
Can anyone tell mw what I should be telling him? I've looked around the Mac site and it seems to suggest using Mpeg4, but I'm guessing that will be pretty low quality?
Any advice much appreciated!

iMovie 6HD edits HD in "Apple Intermediate Codec" ("AIC") and the footage should be in 720p or 1080i.
Note that if you want to burn a DVD, that's Standard Definition. SD footage should be in DV, in your case DV-PAL.

How to install and configure configure IGS for J2EE server 700

Please help me in installing and configuring IGS for J2EE server700 as i need it to run Business Graphics for my Web DynPro application. Earlier i had installed J2EE server 640 and i didnt have to do any separate installation for IGS. I just had to configure the IGS URL from Visual Admin. But i can't find any igswd.exe running on my J2EE700 engine.
Please let me know the procedure for this.

Hi,
As you said there is no data in material master for this material. this may be the reason for this. Try loading this material master and perform attribute change run. This should solve the issue.

BT Web address help screws up local name resolutio...

I discovered that since the move to BT Infinity, my nightly NAS backup has been failing.
It's an rsync job backing up from one qnap NAS to another. The destination NAS is named in the rynsc job setup. Ater much faffing I found that the name was resolving completely elsewhere. After much more faffing I located BT web address help sending back the "duff" IP address.
Am I right in thinking that if the DNS sent back a domain unkown message, then the NAS would have tried (and succeeded) to resolve the name locally.
Can anyone who actually knows about networking confirm this? It doesn't seem terribly useful for BT web address help to do this. I've opted out and I think I have got my local name resolution working again. Tonight's backup will tell.

Web address help will upset quite a few things, so its best to stay opted out.
