Do I must use EJB if I put a web application on NT+IIS+JRun

I wrote a web application(JSP+JavaBean+Microsoft Access Database), it runs well on windows98/me+Apache+JRun developer version(net work). but when I put it on the internet by using ISP's Server(NT 5.0+ IIS+JRun), It does not work well.
when click on a link or a buttton to get another jsp page from original one, sometimes it is OK, most of time it failed. and when it works every thing is right(i mean it can display the content of tables, and let user update the data of the table... ...).it looks like some thing happend when page shangs
is there any one have any idea about this?

  • Migrating to Sharepoint 2013 from 2010 - Can you use the same URL for the Web Application without affecting the 2010 environment?

    Hi,
I am currently trying to migrate our SharePoint 2010 environment to SharePoint 2013. The first thing I'm doing is creating a 2013 development environment to verify that this migration goes smoothly. I'm also doing this so that we will have a testing environment
after the upgrade to 2013 is complete.
So here is my question: I have a 3 tier farm including; 1 app server, 1 wfe, and 1 sql server. I have made a copy of our SharePoint 2010 database and installed that on our sql server 2012 sever (This new environment is on 3 completely separate servers from
our 2010 environment). I have also installed the prereqs and configured SharePoint 2013 on the App server and wfe servers, as well as configuring the necessary service applications (I have created a completely new 2013 database where I will migrate my 2010
    database content when I'm ready).
I am now at the point where I need to create a new web application on the 2013 app server, where I will be migrating the copied 2010 database.  (Also note that we have a 2010 development site called https://[email protected])
When I go to create a new web application in our 2013 dev environment, can I use the same url (https://[email protected]) to create this web app, or will this screw up our current 2010 dev environment?
I'm new to SharePoint migrations, so I apologize if this is a stupid question.
Thanks in advance for any insight you can share on this!
    Boe Barlage

So, what you are recommending is that before I create a web application in my new 2013 environment, I need go into my hosts file on my 2013 app server and alter it to point to my 2013 wfe.
Then after I do that, then I can create my new web application on my 2013 app server with the same url as my 2010 testing environment
    (https://[email protected]).
Then after that I should be able to access my new sharepoint 2013 environment at the same URL (https://[email protected])?
    I must be missing something.
In your first reply, you told me to alter the host file on my 2010 app server and point it to my 2010
wfe (I guess I thought it probably already is). You also told me to alter the host file on my 2013 app server and point it to my 2013 wfe.
so I am confused on after I do this, what url would I access my 2010 test environment, and what url would
I access my 2013 test environment?
I am fine with having my test environment as a different URL until I am totally ready to roll everything over and kill the 2010 site. But I want to make sure that when I migrate my database, none of the site links are broken.
I also want to make sure that if I proceed this way, I want to be sure that I will be able to modify the URL to what my 2010 environment is (without a lot of headaches) when I am ready to kill the 2010 site.
Thanks again for your help, it's much appreciated!

  • Deploying third party EJB 3.0 jar in web application

I have a web application which calls services provided by EJB 3.0 beans packaged in third party jar. How do a configure the web application project to deploy the beans to the embedded OC4J container when I run the application? The jar file is reference by the project, and I have a META-INF/application.xml referencing those jar files as EJB modules. I've set the EJB Version property to 3.0, but the Annotated EJB 3.0 Bean Classes list remains empty, presumably because I have no beans defined in the sources of the application. When running the project, the oc4j container warns that the EJB module contains no beans. I'd like to deploy the beans in the jar file, but can't figure out how.

I don't think this technique will work. I added a META-INF/ejb-jar.xml file to the application, and added a <session> section for one of the EJB 3.0 beans from my third party jar. I specified values for <ejb-name>, <ejb-class>, and <session-type> hoping the rest of the configuration would be determined from the annotations in the class. When the server starts, this warning message is displayed:

EJB 3.0 beans are not required to define business interfaces, as they are supposed to be generated by the container.

    Thanks,
    Steve
By the way, I have been able to use your technique to deploy EJB 2.1 beans from third party jars in other projects, just not EJB 3.0 beans that do not provide ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptors, nor business interfaces.

  • How to use multiple configuration files in a web Application

    Hi,
    I am using JDev 11 TP3,JBoss4.2.1,Trindad 1.2.4.
In my project I have to use a set of (Login) pages over several other projects.
So I stored those pages (& backing beans) at an external location.
Now while editing the deployment profile of the web application I included the login pages from external location using "Contributors".
This way I was able to bring all the resources in the war. But the Faces-config.xml which contains the managed-bean registration of the login pages does not get included.
    1. Either I could change the name of the external faces-config and register it in the current project by includeing it. OR
    2. I could mention the managed-bean info in the current project's faces-config.
I want to use option 1.
    How may I do it??

    Hi,
if you package the managed beans in JAR files and add the faces-config.xml in the META-INF directory of it then it automatically registers at runtime

I don't see anything that indicates SSL was directly a factor in the
    failure.
From the exception stack it looks like a more basic connectivity issue,
    maybe the URL for the
RMI server is incorrect for some reason or the server was down.
It looks like you are doing something like this:
SSL client -> WLS server with servletA, servletA RMI client
    (com.hyperion.css) -> RMI server
The connection failure appears to be the connection from servletA RMI client
    to the RMI server.
    Is that a correct picture?

  • How to use a tag library in multiple web applications?

    Morning all,
Environment: Tomcat 5 on Apache2 using Mod_JK connector on Windows XP
I have developed a custom tag library and tested it out and its working great.
Now, How do I use in my other web applications? Do I need to copy the JAR file to webapps\app1\WEB-INF\lib, webapps\app2\WEB-INF\lib etc directories?
The problem with this approach is, if I happen to change the tag library code, I will have to make sure that I remember to copy the new JAR file to the above mentioned directories. Ofcourse I can write a simple ant script that would do it for me, but I was wondering if there was an efficient and yet simple way of achieving the same.
    Thanks in advance,
    Joe

Thanks Vidyut! You've answered my question.
I placed the jar file in the $CATALINA_HOME/shared/lib directory. But where should I place the taglib TLD file? And how should I reference it in web.xml?
Currently, my web.xml is as follows and it doesn't work.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-app

  • How to use custom HTML page in flex web application with out using iframe

    Hi all,
I have to import a custom HTML page (that has got links to another html pages) inside my flex web application and i dont want to use IFrame. Can you please suggest me with best example.
Please help me out as i'm new to flex.
    Thanks,
    Swetha.

    Hi, there:
Best thing to do is to start with the default login.html page, and then modify it. The login screen is fairly complex and it's easy to just miss a JS function you need to call. To get to default page, you would need to do one deploy (to simulator or whatever), and then look for login.html page in the temporary Xcode or Android project generated from the deployment. It should be under the "deploy" directory in your JDev workspace.
You can also see all the framework JS files and CSS files that way as well.
We have had customers implementing custom login screen so we know it can work, but they all had to start with the default login screen and then modify it.
    Thanks,
    Joe Huang

  • Is there a PS sript to put different web applications in maintenance mode

    HI,
I have 2007 R2 SCOM environment.Multiple Web applications is monitored. I got request to put together PS script which could put web application to maintenance mode so it wouldn't not alert while somebody working on it and puts it down. Is there possible
    way to do that.
    Thanks
    Balys

    Hi
There are different ways to interpret "web applications" - if this is basic URL monitoring then this can be done as follows:
    http://www.scom2k7.com/schedule-a-into-url-maintenance-mode/
    http://www.scom2k7.com/schedule-a-group-of-urls-into-maintenance-mode/
I have done similar for process monitors here:
    https://systemcentersolutions.wordpress.com/2010/04/03/scheduled-maintenance-process-monitors/
The idea behind all of these is that you'll need to find out the target class and then put that class into maintenance mode.

  • Trying to use "Building your first PHP-Based Web Application"

I am trying to follow the tutorial that comes with Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP. At step 2, the instructions say:
"In Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP, use the wizard called TestDrive . . ."
I do not know where to find this wizard. It is not mentioned anywhere else in the tutorial. It is not in any of the downloadable files that I can find through searching. Is this an external file? Is it an indication that the previous installation of Zend or the import of the database didn't go as it should have?
In trying to further follow the tutorial, the screen shots show an option to "Create project on local server," but I don't have this option when I create a new project for "Flex and PHP." I am on a Mac and the screen shot is for a PC. Is this the issue? Or is it because I can't find the wizard called "TestDrive"? Or some other reason?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I spoke to the document author at Zend who has updated the tutorial to correct the problem.  Please try this again and let us know if there are any remaining challenges.

    Hi,
what is the right method to enable packaged EJB to access classes of a

not permit and ejb to access webapp classes in the WEB-INF/classes directory

If classes are needed by both webapp and ejb, place them in a utility

and the classes it should use are in
    wlserver6.0/config/mydomain/applications/application_name/WEB-INF/classes,
i.e. not packed into war -package. adding
    wlserver6.0/config/mydomain/applications/application_name/WEB-INF/classes
to WebLogic's CLASSPATH enables the ejb to deploy but seems to screw
    other deployments.

  • "SSO" for non-sap web application using SAPGUI to browse?

I have a web application (non SAP) and the user base are also SAP users in an ABAP system.
To strengthen the authentication in the web app, I wanted to implement SSO
authentication as we pity the users for having to remember so many strong pw's and I
dont like LDAP based pw sync or other technology I dont understand, because then we are
just yet another application with the same pw...
We are having technical problems implementing SSO on the web app side, and are anyway a
bit sceptical about the user admin / role admin assignment if we get it to work.
So I have created a transaction in SAP which browses the web app and the intention is to
send the SAP sy-uname as the web app user. We can control this using s_tcode, and
an own auth object on the WAS side and a check on the session type before the connection is
established. In this sense we are dependent on the SAP concept implemented, but even so:
The role assignment is controlled in the web app itself -> so assume that I am not overly
worried about unauthorized access to the web application, as they would not have any
system role for it as their sy-uname does not exist. (Infact we can monitor this)
The browser on the front end is the SAPGUI with html controls on the SAP side.
I would be interested in knowing whether anyone else has experience with this approach, and
whether there are any areas to be carefull of?
I would also like to know whether this is a strategic error?
    Kind regards,
    Julius

    Hi Julius,
well, if that web application would run on the same ABAP backend system then the solution described in <a href="http://service.sap.com/~iron/fm/011000358700000431401997E/0612670">SAP Note 612670</a> would be applicable:
a so-called "Re-entrance ticket" (based on the "SAP logon ticket" SSO proceedings) is issued, transported via the SAPGUI connection and back to the system via the invoked HTML control.
But for non-SAP web applications that does not help.
In that case only X.509 client certificates can be used for SSO. Actually, the web application could then also be invoked directly (independent from the SAPGUI session). The user is authenticated based on the X.509 client certificate - and not based on the ABAP userID (of the SAPGUI session).
Well, if you don't mind the effort you could also use the "SAP Logon Ticket evaluation library" (sapssoext, see <a href="http://service.sap.com/~iron/fm/011000358700000431401997E/0304450">SAP Note 304450</a>) to evalute the SAP logon ticket externally. You'll then need to have a "stub application" at the ABAP side that triggers the http redirect to your external web application. Not a nice solution but a possible one.
In the future SAML browser artifacts would be an option (preferable to integrate non-SAP applications). But currently that's not available (for NWAS ABAP).
    Cheers, Wolfgang
