Do iphoto 11 Greeting Cards come with with an envelope?
It looks like the letter press cards come with an envelope, not sure about the standard folded greeting cards. Anyone have experience ordering these from Apple, and know about envelopes?
It does come with a prepaid SIM card, but most do not include any minutes or credit.

I try to open iphoto and it comes up with You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iPhoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iPhoto. I have downloaded photo manager and it's telling me to update but it wont update...
iPhoto is Apple's included program to manage your photo's and pictures.
It receives updates over time with Software updates and new machine or iLife purchases.
When iPhoto gets updated or a newer version is used, it may alter iPhoto support files, but newer iPhoto versions usually always compatible with older files which it then updates.
If you used a newer iPhoto on your iPhoto support files, then they got altered to the newer format, older iPhoto versions can't read the older format.
Somewhere along the line you somehow got a older version of iPhoto on your computer, you need to fine the newer version of iPhoto (not this photo manager, sounds like another program)
Or somewhere along the line you used a newer iPhoto version (like on another Mac) and it altered the iPhoto support files on your older version of iPhoto.
So the key here is to find the newest version of iPhoto and use that to access your iPhoto support files.
If you didn't access your iPhoto support files from another Mac, then you should have the newer iPhoto version on your computer.
Once you find it, and get it in the Dock, you should remove the older iPhoto version from your computer to prevent this from happening again.
Lastly, if the newer version of iPhoto is somehow gone off your computer, you should be able to get a copy off the latest OS X install disk or iLife using a free program called Pacifist.

How come when I try to look at my photos in iphoto a triangle comes out with an exclamation mark? Does this mean that I have lost all of my photos? Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks to all...It means that iPhoto has broken the link/file path to the original file.
Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

How can I get a greeting card program compatible with my MacOS X(10.6.3 ) ?
I have been using PrintExplosion Deluxe for several years now, and used to make beautiful greeting cards. Now, when I try to use it, it crashes, almost immediately and all is lost. I have not reported it before, however, I just try again. I would like to be able to use it again, or is another mac. greeting card maker that would satisfy my needs. I have purchased Print Master from Broderbund but it is too complicated to make the kind of cards I used to use with PrintExplosion Deluxe. How can I get PrintExplosion Deluxe back to where it is working or is there a more compatible version given my model, MacOS status. Thank you.
Contact the developer of the program for help with it. As for alternatives you might try looking at VersionTracker or MacUpdate. For example there's:

as far as I can see, I have resolved it...
Just so I didn't write over my functioning disk in the Mac mini, I took it out and put a spare one in. (Would have saved me going back to the Apple store to get it re-imaged if it did fail.)
I created a Mountain Lion installer on an 8GB USB stick, and first installed 10.8.4 (the latest at the current time) on my MacBook Pro... it worked fine, so I knew the installer stick had no problems at all (that's one thing to rule out of the list of potential causes).
With my spare hard disk in the Mac mini, I then went to try to install 10.8.4 on it, with my 16GB non-Apple RAM in it. It failed as usual in the way I expressed originally.
I then just swapped my 16GB RAM for the original Apple 4GB RAM (2x2GB sticks) which I put back in the machine, and I tried re-installing. No problem whatsoever - it installed perfectly.
It's the RAM! Even though my RAM works perfectly once installed, the Apple OS installer refuses to proceed if Apple RAM is not in. I put my 16GB RAM back in after installing the OS and all is fine.
I'm quite surprised Apple has done this.
Have you changed the RAM? Let me know if it's the same problem or you have some differences.
I assume it will install fine if I put the orignal HD back in, again if I have the original Apple RAM in of course.
PS. Also to note, the point where it failed in the installer with my 16GB RAM in, with the original Apple RAM in it took an incredibly long time towards the end of the bar moving across the screen; it says "5 minutes remaining" for at least 15, maybe 20 minutes, but gets past it eventually, then does a reboot to continue its install. -

Actually you can't. When you print directly from iPhoto you will need to print to a 8 x 10 borderless paper size. That will produce the card with a white border on each size which can be trimmed off after printing. This screen shot shows how the card will print on 8" x 10" stock:

This is because the stock size for the card is 10 x 7 and no printer supports 10 x 7 borderless printing. In Iphoto, I would like to produce a bunch of greeting cards with different pics for different people and I would like all these cards to be sent to my home address in one shipment.
The way I understand it, I can only prodce one card and order multiple copies of the same card.
I am looking for a way not to spend $0.99 + $3.99 (shipping)....
Can this be done?
Or is there an app that allows that?
Or how can I save each card and have them printed somewhere else?
Thanks!Not really because the format is an odd size and when you save it as a pdf file there's a white border around the card.
There are 2 tutorials on how to print them yourself if you have a 3rd party image editor that supports layers or Pages from iWork: iP06 - Printing a iPhoto Greeting Card and iP07 - Printing a iPhoto Greeting Card to Standard Stock Sizes. Apple has made it difficult to print them borderless unless the card color is the same as the card stock.

How do I print to both sides of paper for greeting card on Brother Printer
I did not find the answer on the forum. I have iLife 09 and this Brother MFC-790CW printer. I do not see any automatic setting for printing on both sides. I am using a iPhoto greeting card template and it looks OK with a page one for the front and a page two for the back.
Maybe the only way is to print out all the fronts pages (20) and then put the paper back in and print all the pages 2 (the text inside of the card). That seems like it would be faster than other ways, except automatic.
Obviously I should have done this a month ago and sent the project to Apple, but now I have no more time. Ii have the right paper for the one fold cards and plenty of inkYou need to have an image editor that supports layers. If you do follow the directions in these tutorials:

If the change of location trick didn’t work you may need to look at privilege settings. Many of the functions in PSE require privileges only available from an Administrators account. It may be the reason why you can’t locate the mediadatabase.db3 file from a user account.
You can do one of three things:
1. Log-in to you Administrators account and launch PSE
2. Create a new Administrators account.
3. Promote your users account to Administrator level.

I wish to print my own cards using iPhoto 11 (9.1.1). I have chosen a theme and layout but I cant print the pastel-colored borders and patterns, only the photos and the text actually print.
What am I doing wrong?You will have a problem aligning the front and back of the cards when printing them manually. To get the front and back in register you need to use a 3rd party editor that handles layers. These tutorials describe how: #8 - Printing a iPhoto Greeting Card and #8a - Printing a iPhoto Greeting Card to Standard Stock Sizes.
Try the following: Do a Print ➙ PDF ➙ Save PDF to iPhoto. A jpeg image file of each page will be created and imported into iPhoto.

I'm actually interested in the specs for the Cannon iX7000. I need something that will print on metalic card stock up to 300 gsm...and I was wondering why you wanted to replace it if it works? Do you print on metalic cardstock at all? How is the drying time for metalic cardstock, if you do print on it?
Currently, I have a Dell 7130 cdn laser printer ($2,200) and it works great BUT I find that over a few months I am having to replace parts. The fuser seems to go out due to printing on my metalic 285 gsm cardstock. The printer's specs actually are only for 280 gsm but the paper goes through without any problems.
Any suggestions and feedback about the Cannon iX700 would be greatly appreciated

Sending Flash greeting card to multiple recipients with personalization

We are creating a greeting card in Flash and I need to send it to several people and enable others in my company to also send it to their contacts. I want the end panel to read something like "Dear [Client Name], Season's Greetings from [name] and [organization]. The card will be distributed via a link in an email. I think I will create one presentation for each employee so that their name will be on the end panel.
Is there a way to embed text strings in the email hyperlink so that when the user clicks the link, Flash will add those strings to the presentation? So in your case you'd be using the names where I show name1 and name2, etc... (data1, etc are arbitrary variable names)
What you need is something waiting at the url that extracts that information and my first posting describes a couple of ideas for that. A PHP program is geared for extracting those variables almost directly.
One thing you could also consider is not using the actual names in the url, but instead using some codenames that you use to look up the real names in a separate data file, but that is just an enhancement on the task you need to take care of. -

Iphoto on my macbook pro has stopped working. It comes up with a message saying that the library is either being used by another user or it is unreadable. Any ideas why I should be receiving this message?

Offered solution doesn't work:
Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the Option and Command keys pressed. You can also try restoring your photo library from a backup.
I have already copied my photographs to the a library manager but when I tried to reuse iphoto and import the photos back into iphoto, it would not let me.
I can't download photographs from my iphone or my digital camera.
Any ideas on how I can solve this problem?
There is a possibility that when I went to update applications that I started to install Mavericks which I then interrupted and cancelled. I am not definite that this caused this problem but it was at about the same time as when this problem started.

You can't "copy" your photos to the "library manager", there is just no way to any such thing.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
